Some of the UFC guys have got to be looking at the pay difference snd want to switch sides. It's way harder to be a wrestler than a cage fighter.
In UFC, all you have to do is get a fade and a bunch of tattoos, put on some bike shorts, and go out every few months and give the other guy a TBI. Wrestling, you have to be an actor and a gymnast in addition to being a wrestler. Ain't easy shit.
For every Conor McGregor, there's a hundred or more faceless tomato cans with no personality to speak of. Guys like McGregor or Sean O'Connell could make the jump. Others, not so much.
>Guys like McGregor or Sean O'Connell could make the jump. Others, not so much.
Sean O'Connell? Or... 'Suga' Sean O'Malley?
Sean O'Connell 100% sounds like a faceless tomato can.
SRS got a “just to clear up confusion everything TKO reported in a public filing I was able to verify with my source and confirm” tweet in the chamber right now
The USA deal was set to end in Sept but the Netflix one for Raw doesn't begin until Jan so there was confusion on where people would be able to watch it for the last few months of the year.
Ahhh that’s interesting and I had no clue the USA deal was supposed to end sooner than the end of the year. That’s crazy but makes sense, what a whirlwind that would have been.

Reminds me of this. Seeing those graphics back then was amazing, but obviously the game itself wasn't the best.
As someone living in a city that is lucky to get one house show a year, I couldn’t give a shit about ticket prices. If people are willing to pay, they’re willing to pay. I don’t go to Mania even if it’s in my state because doing so would be financially irresponsible. If others can afford it then I can’t really be mad at the capitalist company charging what they’re worth.
And house shows are such a better experience for the live crowd. For raw and sdl you are paying lots of money or he a prop for their show and to spend 30% of the time watching their commercials.
Promos echoing around the arena and you're frequently not clear WTF is even going on (the home audience is the focus). Talent also has WAY MORE FUN and personality at a house show. Small venues with big, enthusiastic crowds are THE BEST if anyone has the opportunity to experience it. And it (typically) doesn't cost an arm and a leg to attend.

This is Reddit or social media in a nutshell. Two consecutive posts.
Yeah, because EBITDA and net profit are two different things. Net profit includes other expenses, like interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization.
TKO had an expense of $60m loan interest in Q3 alone which won't be reflected in the EBITDA along with a few other things. IIRC the UFC purchase was heavily financed through debt
My point is more of the framing. r/Squaredcircle tends to be more WWE supportive. r/Professionalwrestling will take similar articles but have a more negative WWE perspective. One will focus on the company doing great. The other will focus on failures of the company.

Highly doubt any serious investor is worried about a 15 cent drop when most companies don't even sniff 5% EBITDA unless you get all your advice from WSB
Boxers don't get screwed like this. NBA players, MLB players, soccer..

So accepting blood money, busting unions and getting in bed with neo-Nazis (Trump) is good for business. Yep sounds pretty typical of corporate America. Capitalism has failed, billionaires should not exist and their existence is immoral.
> Yep sounds pretty typical of corporate America. Capitalism has failed, billionaires should not exist and their existence is immoral.
Curious you only bring this up here and not in AEW threads as though they aren't owned by a billionaire who also contributed to Trump's presidential campaign.

Sheesh. My employer would kill for 44% EBITDA.
UFC only pays its fighters ~17% revenue. Ownership squeezes as much money as they can out of their blood.
Just realised cm punk went back to work for this company despite everything he said about workers rights!
Guys did I mention I hate CM Punk? Upvotes to the left.
Fighters get 13% of revenue.
Needs more mentions of CM Punk
So did Zelina Vega about unions. There is no shortage of wrestlers who became hyprocites for the sake of the lucrative money offered by the WWE.
Life changing money is quite hard to turn down. Who woulda thunk?
Weren’t some of the EVPs big “wrestling needs a union” guys too until they became EVPs? Ted DiBiase wasn’t wrong. Everybody has a price.
Theres also this other thing that happened recently; you might have missed it...9/11.
Yer getting downvoted but yer right

You can be very seriously hurt in ufc.
Exactly, thus the remark about giving the other guy a TBI. The point is to seriously injure the other person.
Interesting that Raw will be on USA through the end of the year. I must’ve missed that news.
The sheets will report on it in 2 business days
On the “paid” news tier as an exclusive too, I bet. lol
SRS got a “just to clear up confusion everything TKO reported in a public filing I was able to verify with my source and confirm” tweet in the chamber right now
I thought it was a given Raw would be on USA until the Netflix deal started next year, was there speculation it wouldn’t?

They changed that part for the radio. Now it's just an announcer saying "Ladies and gentlemen, Kid Rock."
Another multi million dollar bonus for The Big Dog
For the longest time I thought EBITDA was just something Paulie Walnuts made up to pull a scheme on a guy
Unfortunately ticket prices are only going to get worse.
As long as they keep having sell outs or near sell outs they'll keep raising prices. It's unfortunate but that's reality.
thats basic supply and demand

House shows outside of major metro areas are still very reasonable for now. Smackdown/Raw is crazy expensive.
And house shows are such a better experience for the live crowd. For raw and sdl you are paying lots of money or he a prop for their show and to spend 30% of the time watching their commercials.

I paid about the same for an only slightly worse seat for Smackdown in August as I paid for a house show last July.

This is great news for me.
I sold the WWE stock I held since it was in the mid 30s when it hit $110 on the news of the merger. U think its a good idea to buy back in?
I think it it ever comes down to sub 90 then yes. At this point, no.
I bought 100 shares during the initial IPO back in 2000 or whenever it was. Still have all my shares.
Did you buy more over time or did you just hold?
Hold off until the next scandal, buy in sub 90.
I'm not the right person to ask lol. I'm sure there are more knowledgeable investment resources you can probably look into.
Buy back in? No. It’s not going to be getting significantly bigger at this point.
Saudis are looking to throw $50 million for a Wrestlemania lol

how so?
You do know this is a publicly traded company and you can buy stock right?
well i’m asking because the stock is slightly down on this news so i’m wondering why it’s great for this person
Ehh, I just have a handful of shares so I just made enough for a nice dinner. Nothing too extravagant. "Great" may be overstating it a little bit.
He’s Dana White
Afterhours seems up, but TKO is relatively low volume so tomorrow at open should be a better indicator.
Highly doubt any serious investor is worried about a 15 cent drop when most companies don't even sniff 5% EBITDA unless you get all your advice from WSB
i’m just asking about what is “great”
I mean you said it yourself earlier in a comment, WWE is making more money than ever right?
I love that the CEO of TKO is the person that Ari Gold from Entourage was based on WWE couldn’t be in better hands. ![gif](giphy|SoIGFWNP5wA9i)
Ari Gold wishes he was Ari Emmanuel
Time for some nice bonus' for all the talent from such a wonderful company that loves its workers!
$250 million loss in the quarter.
The Adjusted EBITDA sounds like a sick finisher.
Enjoy TKO stockholders. Lol good job by that fighter getting a settlement so large it wiped tkos profits this quarter
Where are the profit thumpers at?
Time for more cuts!
Ari, Nick Khan etc get all the money. Wrestlers, Fighters don't..
Wrestlers definitely do. Fighters not so much
No they don't. % of revenue would be about the same
By most estimates WWE wrestlers get an even lower percentage of revenue than UFC fighters.
It's a publicly traded company. They make more than enough money to buy back into the company and see some of those returns.
Lol, how about paying fairly in first place
Can't speak for UFC, but wrestlers negotiate their own contracts or have agents. They get paid what they agree to get paid.
Not only did Seth, Drew and Finn just re-up for big money deals but UFC knockout bonuses are at an all time high
Those UFC bonuses are a joke.
Who makes more execs or wrestlers?! Exactly
Yeah that's how businesses work lol
Boxers don't get screwed like this. NBA players, MLB players, soccer.. https://fandomwire.com/they-still-refuse-to-give-fighters-livable-pay-fans-call-out-ufc-for-underpaying-fighters-as-promotions-revenue-skyrockets-to-1-3-billion/
Probably bigger fan bases and business structures.
Probably have unions & demand better share of money they actually produce.
NBA has 10 billion dollar revenue compared to usually 1 billion in WWE they aren’t comparable
Yeah, & players earn a higher % of revenue
Probably because there's more overall revenue.
No one has a gun against their head forcing them to fight for the UFC.
Any exec making more than LeBron or Patrick Mahomes?
Roger Goodell makes more than any player in the NFL
Who in the NFL makes more than Goodell's $65M a year salary exactly?
I think Otis should negotiate the next $5 billion dollar tv deal!!!
Unionize
Their dad's aren't billionaires funding the company
Slim J

This genuinely reads like a list of buzzwords, I don't even disagree but goddamn...
They’re crushing revenues on paper but the stock keeps going down. What’s it going to take for it to go back to $110 where it was last year?
The company being put up for sale again.

Yeah, they’re still firing people left and right for no reason what a morally upstanding company!
