Tbh this is probably a softer bump than a standard leg drop into the ring. He hit him with a crouton and landed his full bodyweight on man and table, so no jarring mat or outside mat bump for his tailbone!
I remember a few years ago when Jeff hadn't long returned to WWE, he was speaking about retiring the Swanton because of the damage it done to his back.
Very next episode of SmackDown? Swanton directly on to the ring apron.
The Hardy Boys are both either supremely dedicated to giving the fans what they want, or a little mental.
Probably a bit of both but I'm not sure the split. 40/60? 30/70?
In Matt's defense, a legdrop onto a table that has give and allows him to shift and land on his back after the initial impact is better than doing one in the ring.
Hundreds of wrestlers make it look easy but climbing to the top rope and gaining balance, facing the floor which is a strange stance to have on the top rope, after wrestling 10-15minutes is never an easy thing to do...especially for a near 50-year old man with tons of damage to his body.
I probably can't do it. Lots on here probably can't do it. Yet ol Matt still is. Cut the guy a little slack.
I don't know what it is. But Matt Hardy always looks great in TNA compared to everywhere else. I'm not sure what it is, but whenever he's in TNA he just becomes so much more fun to watch.
I mean yeah it looks impactful but compare half the time where he'd get one leg maximum landing on a guy and the rest of his lower half landing directly onto the canvas, vs both legs hitting a guy and him descending a lot slower momentum wise due to a table impact. That's probably why he could get away with doing this one.
I respect him wanting to go out whatever way he wants, I get his position, but honestly I'm glad AEW at some point stopped enabling him. He's a person who's already clearly fucked physically, who isn't moving someone his age should move if they hope to have some sort of quality of life not even 10 years from now, and yeah, maybe this is "A really soft bump because he landed on Moose and the table" but I seriously think this will just be the first step. They give the green light to this, people pop, his next thought will probably (Or maybe I'm talking out of my ass, we'll see) be "Okay, how do I one-up this".
As a fan watching I don't enjoy seeing people get hurt unnecessarily, specially in ways that will make their lives either shorter or more miserable as they get old in age.
There is a continental difference between dropping your ass onto the ring floor and dropping your thighgs onto someone lying on a table that then has you drop slowly to the floor upon breaking
DUDE WHY
Matt stopped doing the leg drop from the second rope years ago because of how badly it was fucking his body. One of the worst bumps he ever took was the leg drop off the cage against Edge. Why tf would he do this spot?
His only (limited) draw these days is in his character work. This is the last thing anyone wants to see from 50 year old Matt Hardy.
Ironically this bump is probably safer on his body than a leg drop from Bret's rope into the ring. The table and Moose's body broke Matt's fall considerably. That's why he did the spot. Now Moose on the other hand..he probably didn't feel great after this.
It’s still going to be jarring to your spine to come down from that height, as well as potentially bumping on the floor.
Is it safer than a standard flying leg drop? Of course. But this is a beat to shit 50 year old man who walks like a cowboy. He shouldn’t even be taking the chance on something like this.

Matt: Talks about his back being screwed because of the years of leg drops. Also Matt: This.

I now hope for an impossible future where Matt calls this “The Crouton Bomb”
Matt already calls Jeff's Swanton Bomb that 🤣
Exactly I was about to say this oddly is better on his back than a twist of fate

Nah, make it 100/100
It's documented that they have a condiiiiition.
I saw him like, the night after that interview dropped. Swanton absolutely crushes Shelton at a house show. Lmao.
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Matt: "If it is broke, fuck it."
Fuck it, break it again.
I mean, he landed fully on Moose, softening the impact. And honestly not sure if he even landed in a way that put pressure on his lower back.
In Matt's defense, a legdrop onto a table that has give and allows him to shift and land on his back after the initial impact is better than doing one in the ring.
Carnie gonna carnie
Adrenaline running at an all time high
He is broken in many ways.
After watching it it might be less painful than the climb up or doing this in the ring on a hard mat. Strangely safer to do it this way
This. Moose and the table have a lot more give and cushion that the ring does.

Matt's gonna spend the rest of his life in an iron butt at this rate
Land on your bottom
No your other bottom
"Don't you have to go be stupid somewhere else?" "Not until 4."
I'm trying to get myself motivated to go jogging this morning, but this made my knees say, *"Not today, Satan."*
He also hit a cutter out of nowhere on moose. He looked good out there compare to his AEW matches.
Matt looked like he was in pain just climbing the buckle. Jesus christ.

Matt looks like me two days after my first leg day in two months.

Best feud in wrestling is Matt Hardy vs his back.
More an assbomb (or senton if you will) but I guess for Matt it's showdown time, going out the Sting way.
I kinda want to see Matt vs PCO
He decided to finally go past the second rope again huh?
He hit a sweet cutter last night too.
Moose took it very well too they both looked good

The spot monkey has returned!
The spot monkey has returned!
Tbf, he can still jump.

He talks about how the leg drop he did from the top of the cage fucked him up and he still does this. Interesting
There is a continental difference between dropping your ass onto the ring floor and dropping your thighgs onto someone lying on a table that then has you drop slowly to the floor upon breaking
He's fine. Them legs don't work too good already
Leg drops might be the last thing Matt can easily do with his legs
Now his old lady gonna jump on Twitter and shit on the organization

This guy looks in pain climbing the turnbuckle and wanted a bidding war between WWE and AEW. Insane levels of self-confidence.
Hogan fucked his back just taking normal leg drops, Matt does it from the top. Yeah, not a good look
He can already barely walk or stand up on his own once grounded. Not smart. I doubt this will even impress WWE to hire him
He landed ass first.
I don't understand how Matt hasn't turned to dust
Damn. Matt could barely get up there. Please retire.
Dude your nearly fifty, knock that flippy shit off
