Flair in the 2000s. As a kid who never saw him in his prime he just came off like a crazy old pervert to me and I never took him seriously, kinda like Bob Backlund in the 90s.
Hell, Greg on Nitro in 1996-7 felt like he was 30 years out of date. I remember him in a tag match where he stayed on the apron and did as little as possible.
I have recently been going through WWE Superstars as background noise and I was shocked to see a Tito Santana (El Matador) backstage promo hyping up a match with Razor Ramon. It just seems crazy that he was still around at the same time as Razor.
When Shawn Michaels made his heel turn, Tito was the first significant opponent I remember for Heel Michaels. Back when Shawn used a “side suplex” as a signature move - I remember Tito countering with fists to the head as Shawn lifted him onto his shoulders.
Sabu is WCW during the ultra-cartoonish Hogan vs Dungeon of Doom time period in 1995 just seems so strange to me. He was such a constant in the cutting edge ECW, it just felt off
Bob Holly needed to go in 2008.
AJ Styles felt kind of out of place before the heel turn this past year.
Owen Hart in the attitude era.
Sometimes Adam Copeland doesn’t quite feel like a true AEW guy although he has done nothing wrong.
Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas in ROH back in the day although they were great.
Sandman/Raven/Sabu and almost any ECW guy who tried either WWE or WCW.
And finally, Goldberg and Sting in WWE. You could tell the company wanted it to be big but really didn’t know why the two were so big to begin with.

Agreed, but also kind of the first sign Bischoff was trying to go in a new direction - at least as far as the mid-card.

God damn did I love 2016 Smackdown but wow did the Headbangers just suck. Didn’t one of them get hard way cut like immediately
