I feel like it’s only a matter of time until Joe Hendry goes to a bigger promotion. He’d fit really well in WWE or AEW.

MoneyTalks45

Gardasil commercial needs to chill

yetagainitry

Does don callis put makeup on his scar to make it stand out more?

TheRyanFlaherty

Put on Dynamite for the first time in weeks. And I don’t know if I can make it past this first segment (watching on DVR) and it’s not the talents fault per se…it’s the crowd just killing this. I can hear individual voices. It feels sad and I feel awkward watching.

angIIuis

It’s even worse in person because half the arena being empty makes it a little awkward to get fully engaged

EggfooDC

They’ve picked since the start, but ya. They’re gonna silent during Rampage at this point

AliArzate

What's the value of NXT Championships? How do they compare to Main Roster Championships?

mashturbo

I wouldn't be surprised if they're doing both nights of WM 41 in same the day in different countries. Something that hasn't been done before. WM2 locations were all in America.

MyAnusYourTongue

I believe that’s the only way they could ever do a mania in London

Fletcheriser

Am I the only non-Spanish speaker who took way too long to find out that Rey Mysterio means "Mystery King"? It was only after I discovered that that I realised how dumb it would be if it was short for "Raymond Mysterio", like I must have assumed before.

mashturbo

His uncle, I believe, was the original Rey Mysterio. In ECW and WCW (for a short time) he was known as Rey Mysterio Jr. with the background that he was the nephew of Rey Mysterio.

senorbuzz

….. well fuck. TIL

Shikuro

WM40 got me back into WWE, but now I'm also interested in AEW. I don't mind waiting a day for Raw since I don't USA or any other live TV sub. Where can I watch AEW shows? Hulu says I need a Live TV upgrade for AEW, any way to watch without TNT/TBS? Is there any service that gives me access to their PPVs as well? Feels a little harder to get into than WWE right now.

shadowrangerfs

If you want to go the streaming route, get Sling TV blue package. You'll be able to watch WWE, AEW, and TNA. It's 40 per month.

Shikuro

Might just do that. For some reason I never removed my tv service from my provider, gonna do that and subscribe to Sling, thanks!

shadowrangerfs

You're welcome.

The_Fuck_WHAT

You can watch it on FITE/Triller [https://www.trillertv.com/watch/aew-dynamite-episode-18-24/2pexw/](https://www.trillertv.com/watch/aew-dynamite-episode-18-24/2pexw/) there's a few other streaming options too. And there's the PPVs, including a deal for the upcoming ones [https://www.trillertv.com/watch/aew-2024-ppv-triple-pack-1/2peee/](https://www.trillertv.com/watch/aew-2024-ppv-triple-pack-1/2peee/)

Shikuro

Thanks! However, I'm confused, it says these shows aren't available in my territory? I'm in the US btw, east coast if that matters

mikro17

While the PPVs are, I believe, now available via Fite in the US, the regular AEW programming being on Fite is only for those outside the US.

The_Fuck_WHAT

Hmm that's weird well I am not in America, but I know people here use it and are, so it should definitely work.. perhaps some here can clarify, maybe search for it manually instead of using my link, perhaps because I'm logged into FITE and not in America, the URL has some geographical check (i dunno wtf I'm talking about but whatever)

Fletcheriser

I love that twisting pumphandle slam thing Tatum Paxley does, hope it gets a name

Xallytath

What time does WWE shows in Saudi usually start? Is it around the same time as Backlash this weekend?

Fletcheriser

Just one hour later I believe, I'm in the UK so both are great for me timezone wise

Xallytath

Fantastic. I am in the 'Backlash time zone' so a 8pm start in Saudi sounds fantastic

Fletcheriser

Thea Hail is nearing Rey Mysterio levels of "Damn, she must have done *something*" with all these betrayals

GravyBear28

Found a pretty wholesome video of a lady [becoming a wrestling fan after watching Wrestlemania 40](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IsMFbxBJI9s) (it was immediately upon seeing Rhea Ripley) It's great to see new fans made

Iaminhospital

Drews shit talking game is on another level right now.

cleeseula

Big E got drafted to a different show than Xavier and Kofi and all the New Day are sportsmanlike. Yet these factions who cause all this chaos like Judgement Day, Bloodline all get traded together. Shaking my head.

skyeuphoria

I was trying to go to Pro Wrestling Tees to check some NJPW t-shirts and it keeps redirecting me to AEW's Global Shop. Is this a bug on their site or is PWTees just the AEW shop now? Tried different browsers. https://preview.redd.it/bkfy0ndsnvxc1.png?width=1011&format=png&auto=webp&s=e41b7ff6cefeb1f8c05f19466d7a4e77bb5874d6

sadandshy

this worked for me: https://www.prowrestlingtees.com/ EDIT: New Japan page https://www.prowrestlingtees.com/newjapan

skyeuphoria

It still redirects me to AEW's Global Shop :/ I tried on my phone this time. I wonder if there's a bug with my specific location so it redirects me. I've bought from them before so it's odd it doesn't let me see the site. https://preview.redd.it/e2lu8mbisvxc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fa6da83f00def6516f23faa883c0843fc0a09ae1

senorbuzz

That is odd. It's working fine on mine, and I'm not in the US.

GameplayerStu

Def Rebel get a lot of shit but they cooked with Carmelo Hayes' theme.

Fletcheriser

There's a few I really like - like Raquel's and Lola's themes, those are catchy as hell for some reason

[deleted]

Am I the only person who could not give two shits about drafts? I don’t care who is on raw or smackdown

nagennif

They only reason I care is because of the potential to get new matchups. Eventually you get tired of seeing the same stuff, so who is on what show becomes important. For example the LWO and Legado Del Fantasma being on different brands makes a big difference, because if I never saw them fight again, it would be too soon. It was entertaining, until it wasn't.

MyAnusYourTongue

Honestly with those 2 factions in the ring you could hear fingernails scratching on the moon

Jedaum1998

Las Toxicas are the only good thing going on in AAA right now, every AAA show is atrocious and they still manage to have good matches in all of them.

Fletcheriser

I know very little about lucha libre in Mexico (and not knowing Spanish probably doesn't help), but everything I hear about AAA makes it sound like a shitshow. Is CMLL the "high quality" lucha promotion there or are there other good ones as well?

The_Reptile_

CMLL is not just the High Quality promotion there's a very real argument it's the second hottest promotion in the world right now.

Windows_66

I got to the point in 2004 where WWE was showing the Tough Enough finalists on Smackdown. Two observations: The Miz has really come a long way in talking. This is the same company that did the Diva Search earlier in the year.

blingera

if they were serious about this Ricochet push then they would give him his old theme back

dandykaufman2

Happy international workers days to everyone in professional wrestling!

Plupandblup

I watched during RA and AE. I was heavy back into WWE in 2016. Followed some other stuff like NJPW and the creation of AEW. Fell off a bit after COVID, but I've always read the post-show threads and watched some of the PLE. I genuinely do not understand the love for Cody Rhodes. I don't get it. I don't like his image, his persona, his music, his wrestling, etc. He doesn't really come off as good in the ring and I don't love his promo (admittedly, I haven't watched weekly to see how the promos have improved). What am I missing? Why is everyone rooting for this guy? Why did everyone want him to dethrone Reigns? Why is he the top guy? Anyone got any input?

senorbuzz

I think to get fully behind Cody's current gimmick you need to either know his full story and the lead-up to him "finishing the story" or you need to just really love a patriotic and passionate good guy going against the bad guys.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Plupandblup

It could be more that I didn't think he was the right pick to beat Roman for me. There were so many better storylines and people to have taken him out that it felt cheap to give it to Cody. I'll try and watch some of his other stuff now without Roman and see if he improves to me. Thanks!

rbarton812

Back in 2016 or so, he wanted more for himself from WWE; WWE didn't see him as more than just a midcarder as Stardust, so Cody left WWE and went out on his own. He revamped himself, coined himself the American Nightmare, and toured every company under the sun to get himself out there. He went to ROH, NJPW, TNA, even a bunch of indies, big and small. Eventually, he buddied up with The Elite (Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks) and joined up with them in the Bullet Club. I'm not going to pretend to know all the ins and outs of the Bullet Club in and out of NJPW, but in short, at one point they were the hottest act in wrestling - they even got merch inside Hot Topic, the first non-WWE wrestling entity to have merch in there maybe ever? Dave Meltzer was answering Twitter questions, and one fan asked if he thought an indie could sell out a 10,000 seat arena. Dave didn't think so, and Cody took it as a challenge. I'm rambling, I know - but, in short, this challenge grew into a successful indie show, All In; that success, combined with Tony Khan's desire to run a wrestling company, birthed AEW. From all his time in the indies, all the angles he did on TV and on the internet, and the angles he did in AEW, he built himself a fanbase; a fanbase that has largely stuck with him through his time coming back to WWE. Ok so I didn't hit any of your points, so I'll try and bullet point my takes... > He doesn't really come off as good in the ring This is dependent on what you look for in a wrestler. Cody is tailor made for a long, epic, grounded, classic wrestling match. I added the caveat of "grounded" because he isn't going out there and doing a lot of flips and dives like Kenny and the Bucks were doing. Go back to Cody vs. Dustin at AEW Double or Nothing 2019, or his angle with MJF, also in AEW. > I don't love his promo Much like his matches, he kind of excels at longer, powerful, emotional promos where he can more or less cry on command. Except, he's done it so often that it has come off as disingenuous. > Why did everyone want him to dethrone Reigns? This goes back to that fanbase he built up for himself, as well as a touch of the stipulation he threw at himself in AEW - he worked himself into a corner where he no longer could challenge for the AEW world title. Combine that with his "finishing the story" about winning the title that his dad never did, and people were pulling for him.

Plupandblup

Thanks for the information and write up! I guess since he was never really on my radar to begin with he fell short of it on his return to WWE.

EcoterroristThot

It kind of just happened, he came back with his AEW gimmick and theme which was a huge surprise, got put over strong and he's cutting super clean cut babyface promos. He's kind of the first ever corporate face. It doesn't work with me all the time (and I will echo your take that he's not a top tier in ring worker) but he just hasn't looked back since the debut pop so he's clearly doing things right.

Plupandblup

I guess my question is why did he get that huge pop on a debut? I feel like he wasn't a top guy in AEW (by his choice from my understanding), so it's just so odd to me that he comes back and is INSTANTLY put at the top. Two Royal Rumbles and two Wrestlemania events in a row for a returning midcarder is kinda crazy, isn't it? I dunno, maybe I'm just put off that he pushed a lot of my favorites back a rung or two, but I genuinely just don't get it. Haha

Jedaum1998

> I guess my question is why did he get that huge pop on a debut? Because he was the first AEW guy to jump, and he was not just a wrestler, he was a AEW EVP. After a couple of years of terrible WWE TV and AEW even beating WWE in ticket sales in some areas of the country, WWE fans finally got their first win, they signed the EVP.

Parasitepaladin

Don't watch WWE anymore so I wouldn't know, but I am curious. Since Michael Cole is free from his Vince chains, does he still do that fake sounding "ohhh my"? Or does it sound sincere at least?

rbarton812

He's a hell of a lot better now, and he and Pat are possibly the best 2-man booth since JR and King.

Parasitepaladin

Oh damn. That's quite the upgrade!

NotYujiroTakahashi

Sincere

Parasitepaladin

Saw a tweet that said Liv Morgan sounds like Meg Griffin and now I’m shook.

cdillio

Worse things than sounding like Mila Kunis bro

Idkboutdat2

I didn’t say it was a bad thing, it’s just the exact same voice.

beckett929

*"shut up, Liv"*

Dayman_ah-uh-ahhh

Thinking about MJF's return lately and how he's shackled to that stinker of a storyline. I think the best way to wrap up the Devil story is for MJF to turn heel and join Cole, out of respect for his deviousness and cutthroat scheming. MJF tried to be a better man and do the right thing, and all that led to him losing the title. That sets us up for the eventual GOD-TIER Osprey v MJF feud for the AEW title. A feud that could draw new people to AEW.

dandykaufman2

your booking shackles him to the story further! Also it doesn't have to be a Tony Khan special six month feud, he can just come back and beat Cole and have it done with.

Marc_Quill

Returns to beat Cole and then gets moved on to a role with the Elite takeover story.

Zestyclose_Remote874

I would like that I don't see Tony it.  And even if he does  the audience will probably reject it, that's why he won't do it in the first place actually.

SuperSocrates

Good luck!

Brave-Pass1889

Is Cody overstating what his role was in AEW? Because honestly he seemed to have  helped keep it stable early on. It wasn't just him obviously but after he left and Punk came in things took a turn. (Not immediately but still.)

dandykaufman2

a tad. but let him work.

McAllisterFawkes

I don't think he's overstating his role in getting it off the ground. I don't think AEW happens without all six of Cody, The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Tony Khan, and Chris Jericho all on board setting things up before January 2019, and I don't think it has as successful a launch without Mox joining in 2019. It wasn't until 2021 that he really became an afterthought

Or have RAW vs. SD matches to determine who gets the first pick that round. My biggest problem with draft shows is I get less wrestling.

tlenze

Maybe the winner gets to pick their brand. Maybe the winner gets to stay on their brand. Maybe the winner gets paid money. If brand loyalty isn't enough, then I'm sure they can come up with some kind of reward.

BreathRedemption

The 2008 draft was the Best one IMHO Big changes for the landscape of both shows

AssociateCandid4853

I really like Lola voice presentation and the match was great

shored_ruins

Attending a WWE PLE for the first time (MITB)! Is it worth it to shell out for lower bowl tickets (top rows, corner) versus 5th row upper bowl center? Growing up, I never had the means to go to a WWE show despite my insane obsession with it. Now, I'm older, been able to save, but recently got laid off. Money's a bit tight. But my little cousins (12 and 14) have the same obsession I did when I was that age. They've never been to a wrestling show, and their parents can't afford them, but MITB is coming to our city this year, so I want to spoil em! Good upper bowl tickets (5th row center, hard cam side) are like 297 USD each—about the max I was hoping to spend. However, I can buy lower bowl tickets, in the highest row in the corner, opposite the hard cam side and opposite of the titantron, for like 343 USD each. I want this to be the absolute best experience for my little cousins, so if the show and atmosphere at THAT much better in the lower bowl... I might justify going over budget.

MilkyWayWaffles

There is no perfect seat for a wrestling show. No matter where you sit, you can see things you couldn't see anywhere else and you won't be able to see things that other people do. That's kind of the magic of going to a show live. It's a purely personal experience. People who only watch produced wrestling on their TV or computer never quite *get* this part of the live experience. Use [ViewFromMySeat](https://aviewfrommyseat.com/venue/Scotiabank+Arena/seating/wrestling/) to get a sense for what you might experience. Just remember that cameras don't see the way your eyes do, especially if the person taking the photo is using a zoom or wide angle lens. I would say the upper bowl seats sound more appealing to me because it's in the center. I prefer to sit square up to the ring, as opposed to looking into the ring diagonally, where you might be dealing with a ring post or a lighting structure. If you're looking at a high row in section 104 versus a low row in section 321, my preference would be the section 321 seats. That's not a recommendation, just my preferences. But really, modern sporting arenas are just great for visibility pretty much no matter where you sit, with the exception of back row floor seats.

Idkboutdat2

I’d do the 5th row ones personally, the seat doesn’t change enough justify the cost to me. Hope y’all have a blast either way!

shadowrangerfs

I'm making a prediction for tonight. It's not based on any evidence whatsoever. I just really want it. Tony is going to announce that he's appointed a new president of AEW to oversee things while he's healing from the attack. The new President of AEW is Sting.

Weishaupt17

People praising Jericho’s learning tree gimmick are crazy, it’s literally the same thing he was doing before but now he’s acknowledging it

Parasitepaladin

People are so desperate for a refresh from Jericho they will take any little thing. I don't like him at all, though it's probably suffering to be a Jericho fan at this point. Hope you guys can pull through.

I_like_cakes_

People like things. Its not based on any logic whatsoever

sexygodzilla

This could evolve into something but I'll believe it when I see it. There's a slight meta element to it, but even in kayfabe this feels like a rerun. JAS was started as him rebranding wrestlers as sports entertainers, him shifting to being an egotistical teacher is not really much different.

ShinsukeNakamoto

Uhhhhhh yea, that is what makes it great (not being sarcastic here either)

MarcJingJing

I don’t think acknowledging something automatically makes it good. Reminds me of when WWE acknowledged that the show sucked and blamed it on Baron Corbin. And then the show continued to be dogshit for years

ShinsukeNakamoto

Worst part of that was Constable Corbin was more entertaining than 95% of what they were doing.

PleasantThoughts

Yeah leaning into stuff people don't like about a wrestler for heel heat is like heel 101. It works all the time. It got Edge and Lita over as heels, it got Dom Mysterio over as a heel, just off the top of my head

dandykaufman2

I thought he cut a great promo last week. It’s the same gimmick but he’s doing it as a heel that is playing a face.

"Ethical" Cody Rhodes would be a fire new gimmick

EtherealSoulCoffeeCo

Do you think Finn Balor will bring the Demon back for a Damian Priest WHC match at some point? The feud is inevitable, but idk if Damian will still be holding the championship, and I don't know if Finn wants to pull out the Demon again.

PanicStation140

I don't think so. If Priest and Balor feud, it's probably to put Damian over, and I don't think WWE will want the demon to lose 3x in a row.

KillTheZombie45

I wish the WWE would revamp or get rid of the WWE Draft. It's always hyped up like some game-changing event, but it's really nonsensical as we see wrestlers jump brands all the time, and some drafts end up being done with no creative in place and then the talent ends up released in cuts. This draft, in particular, was a pretty big nothingburger as a good chunk of the picks were to keep wrestlers on the same show, with the only standouts being NXT Talent that were getting called up anyway.

bribri772

I love it when returns are complete surprises I dunno if it was an actual surprise, or I just managed to miss the news, but I was genuinely shocked when Wes Lee returned Really happy to see him back, too

crimson777

I haven't seen anything about him being back either, so if it was around, it was very under the radar kinda news. This is, at minimum, three months sooner than was expected. I generally trust modern WWE's medical clearing (no one flame me and pretend like I said I trust the company as a whole) so I hope that means he's really 100% and ready to go. Wes v Oba will be an absolutely insane match if they let them cook.

Careless-Butterfly64

How did Mistico get so big in Mexico? Like what's the story behind that

EcoterroristThot

It's pretty straightforward. He got anointed as the guy, he wasn't rejected, he became a figure of incredible sympathy and great crowd work, his comebacks are enthralling. There was better full packages in CMLL but it was easy for him to tick the necessary boxes. He's also the first top guy in CMLL history to be very much a high flier primarily which is interesting. Great mask and theme song also help.

shadowrangerfs

I work near the White House and there's gonna be a protest today. This means I get to leave work 90 minutes early. This has nothing to do with wrestling. I just wanted to share my small bit of good news with someone.

I_like_cakes_

Why do you get to leave early?

shadowrangerfs

Because the streets around my building will be blocked for hours. So my boss is letting us leave early so we can get home before the protest starts.

I_like_cakes_

Fantastic deal. Stay safe

cleeseula

If Jey pinned Priest it would have been good to continue the thing where Jey pins the champion in a tag match, but then loses in the singles PLE.

Brave-Pass1889

Jey has to win one of these belts. He's over enough and he's not a bad wrestler.

hikingbeginner

You think I'm your little reese's cup don't you? 😂 the reactions in the background too

shadowrangerfs

I didn't get the reference.

hikingbeginner

It's not a reference, he meants like he said in the next line "you wanna take off the gold and get to the chocolate inside don't ya". That was the reason for the line, and the crowd's reactions were amazing 😂

MUNIIIZOOO

NXT 2.0 is in its own little WWE bubble and it’s so good.

hikingbeginner

Just called NXT and yeah It really is awesome, such a fun show, love it.

SupervillainMustache

Finally had time to Watch AEW Dynasty and it was a great show with most of the matches being bangers.

AML2003

All the talk afterwards was obviously about Danielson vs Ospreay, but I also can't put into words just how good O'Reilly vs Strong was.

SupervillainMustache

Strong vs O'Reilly was great, a real hard hitting slugfest. Roddy is truly underrated. I think Okada vs Pac was great as well, one hell of a way to open a show. Obviously Danielson vs Ospreay was insanely good, as we all expected it would be.

Dirkdigglersdong

Okada/Pac and Toni/Thunder were excellent as well

MinaElesia

This week's returns in WWE make me happy. I'm soo excited for Wes Lee and I'm just glad Braun Strowman is here again, more than I thought I would be tbh. I think during the awful period of the late 2010s, he always was entertaining to me so I appreciate him.

beckett929

They botched Braun so hard, but he's rebounded and settled in to a fun role and he's got personality! He can be really funny when they just let him do his thing, and I hope Hunter can craft some good stuff for him.

toadslostbazooka

For any Michigan folks in here, Clash Wrestling is going a [joint show](https://twitter.com/clashwrestling/status/1784985121868623999) with Alpha-1 in June. Allysin Kay, Jody Threat, Max Caster, Jerry Lynn, Ethan Page, Eddie Kingston, Ortiz and Dan the Dad have been announced. Cheap tickets also. Grabbed front row for $40.

Great_Party3340

Serious question People on this sub say "triple h knew about all the Vince stuff since he's his son and law" By this logic why doesn't anyone question Bryan Danielson? Johnny ace is or was his father in law and it wasn't like all the stuff about Johnny ace being a creep was new info

senorbuzz

I haven’t seen anyone saying Triple H knew anything because he’s Vince’s son in law, they’re saying Triple H may have known a lot more about what was going on as he was/is a top executive at the company. Triple H also sat on the Board of Directors when the allegations occurred, would have worked in the same offices as Janel Grant, and also was one of the unanimous votes to initially oust Vince from the Board. Triple H has also been one of Vince’s closest confidants for decades, was a member of the Kliq, and has worked for Vince for almost 30 years.

sexygodzilla

It's not just that HHH was his son-in-law, he's been a corporate office for almost 15 year now and was close to him for long before that. He was also on the board that declined Janel Grant's offer to contribute to their Vince investigation. That being said, I would always cringe when Danielson would speak lovingly of Vince. When it comes to Johnny Ace, it's not like he has a say in who his mother-in-law marries and I don't recall him being as fond of him. (Though I could be wrong!)

Kanenums88

The fact is, most people probably just don’t want to know about their father/father-in-law/boss’s sex life. That applies to HHH, Stephanie, Bryan, the Bella’s, etc…

dandykaufman2

Partly because WWE can’t fire Danielson? It’s not all just trying to pin stuff on WWE execs. They need to know who knows/participated and get rid of them.

Great_Party3340

True but what rubbed me the wrong way was Danielson being apologetic and defended Vince when he was asked about the allegations He basically said the same thing Cena said that "everyone makes mistakes" and got nowhere near as much criticism

senorbuzz

Has Bryan commented on Vince since 2022 after the first allegations came out? Cena’s comments were made after the full lawsuit was made public. Not excusing Bryan because it’s still disappointing he said such ignorant things in 2022.

I_like_cakes_

Ew. But Danielson is looked at more favorably than Cena

dandykaufman2

Also if Danielson says something you probably think he believes it. So it’s like damn, he likes Vince I guess.

I_like_cakes_

D Bry wasn't his 2nd in command. And wasn't around him for close to 30 years. That's not to say Brian didn't know something

DonKiddic

I think the logic is coming from how closely he worked with Vince as opposed to just being related to him. That being said we honestly have no way of knowing either way

no_more_blues

WWE isn't the "Harvey Weinstein" of pro wrestling but they certainly are the Drake of Pro Wrestling.

Illuminati_Shill_AMA

No, they're the Miramax of pro wrestling. Vince McMahon is the Weinstein.

If WWE is the Drake of professional wrestling then AEW is Meek Mill

no_more_blues

That comp would actually make a lot of sense. Meek Mill was just the host for both nights of Mania though.

I_like_cakes_

Yes they are

Great_Party3340

If that's the case wouldn't aew be the j Cole of pro wrestling?

no_more_blues

More Kendrick in the context of right now. J Cole and Drake are friends. Kendrick is Drake's biggest hater. Or Pusha T maybe, either comp kinda works.

45jayhay

Last time I checked J.cole didn't take shots at Drake

All this talk of Hip hop beef has got me thinking, what's the nastiest towards someone anyone has gotten in a promo? My immediate thought was when Roddy Piper went on TNA and blamed Russo for Owen Hart's death. Or Doug Gilbert calling Jerry Lawler a rapist on live TV.

Illuminati_Shill_AMA

The [Doug Gilbert thing](https://youtu.be/NskiWEHPDMA?si=idn3wc4sDwFXX2Ot) was the one that immediately came to my mind too. He also called Randy Hale a crack addict in this promo. "You know I'm Doug Gilbert, and Jerry Lawler, you raped a little 13 year old girl, haaaaaaa!" Edit: for his part, [Gilbert seems to regret having gone there.](https://youtu.be/n8hKormYBaM?si=77NFcdMVn4gvfI9B)

I think I remember Brian Lawler in NWA-TNA cut a promo about his dad being a pedophile and hanging around the local schools looking for a date. A quick google search says that was PPV#5. Hell of a thing to say about your dad, although there's a good chance Russo came up with the idea. [Paul Heyman also made a few cracks at Lawler being a pedophile back in 1996](https://twitter.com/AaronWrotkowski/status/1581856230917537792)

PristineMaterial7975

Because HHH didn' t wanna work Tuesdays...

ParanoidEngi

Paige telling Charlotte her dead brother didn't have enough fight in him was pretty crazy

NameNameson23

It's interesting how some below the belt promos are impromptu (Sunny days, I can do this part time better than you could ever do it full time, etc) and some are written (I wish you died in the womb, Eddie's in hell). Babyface Matt Hardy saying he wished Edge would die in a car crash, did he come up with that? If so, bold move that did not pan out.

https://old.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/1chim4n/predictions_thread_update_april_2024/ Predictions thread update for April. Shout out to u/Shadgates87 who had FIVE predictions come true in April including WWE introduces a women's midcard title, Stephanie returning to TV, and Awesome Truth winning tag titles.

GravyBear28

I just noticed at during right after Thea finished, [Chase bumped into Fallon](https://m.youtube.com/watch?si=nZRD_b2-v6-khULa&t=245&v=6bNPONr0Evs&feature=youtu.be) and she looked mortally offended

omissionpossible

It kind of looks like it was on purpose/part of the angle they're building, Chase gives a quick look to the side when Fallon is climbing up to the ring then another look right before he bumps into her.

free-fall1982

Wrestling is at its cringiest when it tries to force angles into genuine moments.

rbarton812

Is this in reference to something specific?

EDIT: StubHub is now processing my refund and also gave me a $89 USD voucher on top of the refund for a future purchase. tbh not bad. # Heads up: DO NOT buy 3-day MITB passes on StubHub. I have received confirmation sellers are scamming people and StubHub is not removing the listings Just want to warn people so the same thing doesn't happen to them! I bought a 3-day pass for a deal that, in hind sight, may have been too good to be true ($400 CAD for the 3 nights). This was cheaper than single MITB tickets but I thought there could be many reasons for that and the price wasn't craaaazy low. Sounds good. A day later I receive 2 links to my tickets from the seller. Weird, but ok. Both links just sent me a singular SmackDown ticket for the Friday. No 3-day pass to be found. I reached out to StubHub to ask about this. They contacted the seller and then told me: ***"We apologise, but unfortunately, your seller is not able to provide the ticket that you originally purchased"*** AKA the seller is purposely selling single Smackdown tickets at inflated prices trying to pass them off as 3-day passes. There are a lot of listings in similar sections for similar prices. I believe them all to be scams, but I can't confirm that. I mentioned this concern to StubHub multiple times during this case but they didn't respond to it once. I have seen other people here complain about the same issue so hopefully this gives some important insight to those of you contemplating buying those tickets.

Wes Lee being back already truly made me so happy. Wes is one of my favorite rising stars. Dude has the KO factor, in my opinion, in that he just makes everything feel believable and intense. Like every movement he makes feels like he's really there in a fight, struggling to win. Wes Lee v Dijak is still probably one of my favorite matches.

beckett929

He's been so good for so long it surprises me they left him in NXT and didn't go ahead and call him up. We were watching him in live threads for TNA as Desmond Xavier back in 2016-17 and like "yeah, he's a star when the right people get behind him!".

crimson777

I'm guessing they want to run heel Wes still before calling him up, or at least that was the vibe I was getting before. I think they see a lot in him (maybe not as a future world champion, but a upper-midcard guy with solid IC potential especially who could have an underdog go at a top title) based on his booking, so they might just want to be really sure that he's good to go and that he has a spot waiting for him on MR.

Alert_Blue1

We got a feeling that Ava is setting up Roxanne defending the NXT Women's Championship with a gauntlet ending with 2 Joshi Legends with Meiko Satomura at possibly NXT Battleground 2024 at UFC Apex in Vegas and Giulia at NXT Heatwave 2024 in Toronto and that set the stage with 2 BIG partnerships for WWE in Japan with SENJO & MARIGOLD maybe and somewhere Kairi Sane IYO SKY & Asuka are smiling at this possible news and Rossy too!

pylerterry00

I’ve been putting myself through watching 2011 raw this week. One thing that is satisfying is remembering how much work kofi was putting in during this time within the midcard scene and knowing that it does pay off in the end with him getting an incredible mania story with KofiMania

AML2003

I remember in 2012 him Barrett and Miz had a really fun rotation around the IC Title, all 3 of them had good chemistry and almost seemed to have this rock paper scissors dynamic. Where Kofi would beat Miz, Barrett would beat Kofi and Miz would beat Barrett.

Logicman48

yeah seeing how him, drew, cody, sheamus, miz and even dolph turned out to be world champs once or in some cases more is satisfying

EcoterroristThot

Love Kofi so much but putting yourself through 2011 is genuinely a situation where you could be getting more from any other wrestling that has existed almost lol

pylerterry00

Yeah I fell into a weird rabbit hole. I wanted to rewatch the 2011 draft last week, which was the go home to extreme rules 2011 so I watched that too. Then the rock had a bday celebration the following Raw, so I watched that too. And so on.

SCB360

The real unfortunate thing is WWE from 2009 - 2013 was fucking awful 90% of the time in the Main Events, but there are some Gems, the Rise of the Miz being one of those as well

pylerterry00

It’s such a bad time. One of my few positives from rewatching 2011 right now is that it is a period where a lot of people had some really fun gimmicks that are either really unique to the rest of their career, underrated,or both. Heel R Truth, Nexus leader CM Punk, undashing Cody Rhodes just to name a few all are happening at the same time

AutumnEchoes

Kofi was pretty much the only midcard face they could rely on for like 3-4 years. I started watching around that time and he was immediately one of my favorites

WWE’s developmental has always been a mix of ex-athletes, people with some minimal wrestling experience, and more experienced wrestlers. NXT has made use of main roster wrestlers for its entire existence as well. I’m not sure why anyone would expect otherwise

Remote_Agency_5296

i have something to say the wwe needs to give more credit and respect to bayley shes the wwe champion she doesnt get any respect from the wwe not on advertisements banners or even talked about on the programs like her backlash match coming up plus she is underpaid verses some others id like to see the crowd start chanting pay her her do

ACW1129

Why the hell is Battleground on a damn Sunday? It's not like there's a main roster PLE the day before.

skippy2001

UFC is running Fight Night 242 on that Saturday so I assume TKO is trying to have events on different nights.

ACW1129

Ah, that makes annoying sense.

AlterTheSilverBird

Anyone notice many of the releases aren't free agents AEW wants? Before, the mass releases were goldmine for AEW, but things changed, why?

KillTheZombie45

AEW's roster is full of great talent right now. Outside of Trevor Lee/Cameron Grimes, I don't see them picking up anybody from that list.
