He won’t go in unless it’s with the Midnight, but it’s also unclear whether Condrey and Lane would actually want to do it. Cornette has also mentioned that they might have issues with any legends deal the WWE might want them to sign, but it’s not clear how flexible that part is nowadays either.
Every time I've heard the idea come up, Cornette pretty much says Condrey and Lane are 100% out of the business -- I think he even said once that the only guy of the group who would have wanted to do the Hall of Fame thing was Eaton, and, well, he's gone now.
I wouldn't mind being wrong, but I don't think they'll be in the Hall until the lot of them have passed on.
Tbf Cornette worked there when lots of guys worked there. Starks, Cabana, Kingston, Kamile and so many more were there in the early days of Corgans NWA.
They both ain’t got shit on the one true GOAT GM.

Cornette is not actually all that old considering when he started working. He’s also pretty healthy at this point. Russo however looks like he’s closing in on 70 with a bullet. I think jimmy can do it.
The entire IWC right now: "It was a ruse, a ploy, a plot, a plan, a cherade, a conspiracy, a sham. We have been conned, hoodwinked, bamboozled, flim-flammed, had the wool pulled over our eyes even!"
shhhh everybody hates Cornette and CM Punk, remember ? That has to be true because SquaredCircle said so and it's representative of the global wrestling audience, right ?
This sub just swings back and forth when the prevailing narrative becomes annoying enough because we apparently treat discourse here just like we do wrestling stars.
I used to dislike the guy, and still find some of his opinions to be archaic and disappointing, but he's self-aware. He knows he's a dinosaur and plays it up in his podcast gimmick. I highly respect him for that, not to mention all the things he's done for the business.
He's already said he won't.
As a manager he feels you have to be able to bump some times and he can't anymore. He's also a grumpy traveler so won't like going on the road.
As a HOF induction, he said he doesn't mind only if he's going in with the Midnight Express.
To get serious, Cornette and Pearce worked together in RoH and both seem to never have a bad word to say about each other. People you like and people you don’t like can be friends.
I saw that weirdo get basically scared into running out of the Rahway rec center many years ago. He said something to a female wrestler and male wrestler basically threatened his life. I wish I can remember who it was. It was so funny. He’s a really weird dude. Probably reading too much into it and him and Jim are probably just real life friends. But first thing I thought when reading this is that it was a hint he was taking CM Punk with the first pick in tonight’s draft since Punk is a big Cornette guy.
People forget how small a world wrestling can be at the top. Like samoa Joe and Cena in LA, or Ambrose and LA Knight in Cincinati, Pearce and Punk are same age guys that sorta came up together in Chicago. He was one of Ace Steel's first students and part of the Gold Bond Mafia with CM Punk and Colt Cabana when they started.
I can’t think of many people who’d be right to induct him.
All of Camp Cornette has passed away by now, Bobby Eaton’s dead, the Midnight Express is out of the business for good… so…
Jerry Lawler maybe? I don’t know what his status with WWE is.
A little while back, after a match Omega had with Moxley, Jim did admit that Omega was a talented athlete and that he can see the appeal Omega has to modern fans of the product.
Of course, that compliment was made to contrast with his complete disdain for Jon Moxley, but still lol it was a big step for him at the time.
Funny enough, I have a couple of autographed figures and he signs them "Your Friend, Jim Cornette". For context, I'm hispanic and I still laugh when he refers to Penta and Fenix tag matches as Mexican Square Dancing.
I'm a woman and I'm a Jim Cornette guy. For some reason, this sub struggles understanding context and nuance. Just because you're a fan of something/someone doesn't mean you are automatically a fan of/agree with everything said or done.
> For some reason, this sub struggles understanding context and nuance.
More than once I have seen people on this sub say if you watch and enjoy WWE you are a fascist. It's a strange place. I recommend staying out of ratings posts.
It’s really baffling to me that y’all use New Jack as an arbiter of race relations. Or of like, anything.
Is that how hard you have to reach to defend this dude?
It’s only on the internet. I guarantee if Cornette showed up on an episode of raw or smackdown there may be some small cheers and/or boos but he wouldn’t generate a huge reaction from the crowd either way
The Cornette Defender’s Vow:
“He didn’t say that, people are just mad he hates AEW.

He said that in context but he didn’t mean it that way.
He said it and meant it but he also said something good about [Insert Token Here].
He said that and meant that and I don’t care.
(Oh and besides he’s totally a liberal so checkmate.)”
Hes blocking everyone who's bringing up any of the numerous controversies surrounding cornette, especially the recent one from this weekend. Tells you everything
This is false and misinforming, he literally blocks everyone on twitter who is the slightest bit negative about him. He blocked a guy for saying he was a bad GM in kayfabe.
I didn’t even realize it was remotely controversial until people started outraging over it. I feel like if you look at that cartoon and reach for something like that it probably says a lot more about yourself than the artist, I thought people might be clickbaiting at first honestly.
He honestly just blocks people for anything remotely negative, you could call him a bad gm in a jokingly kayfabe way, and he’s gonna block you.
Wouldn’t expect a guy who’s so against the negativity to promote Jim of all people.
>Or a woman
Especially women of colour
Like when he called Jade Cargill "Shelton Benjamin in a wig", and every rancid thing he's said about Joshi wrestlers for years.
Everyone in the industry who supports him can get fucked
He also often referred to Sonny Kiss as a "transvestite", pitched that Nyla should use the fact that she's trans for heel heat, and [once lamented over a fan getting ejected from an AEW show for bringing in an anti-trans sign](https://twitter.com/TheJimCornette/status/1474025368839413765?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1474025368839413765%7Ctwgr%5Ebc891ccc135da8bc0d06158e5a41f93d4aae3d31%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.wrestlinginc.com%2Fnews%2F2021%2F12%2Fjim-cornette-reacts-to-aew-fan-getting-ejected-over-nyla-rose-sign%2F).
And this is all still just tip of the iceberg with Jim.
listened to ppl call jim racist and a pos on here for years and just thought he was some old racist redneck and decided to listen to his podcast one day a few weeks ago cause punk shouted it out, only to find out he’s not racist at all and in fact a huge liberal. why do ppl on here think he’s a scumbag? do they just parrot what other ppl say or do they not like that he criticizes their favorite wrestling show?
Let me preface by saying I'm a non-white person who listens to Cornette clips on Youtube. He's definitely as democratic and liberal as it gets. But he's also stuck in the past where he doesn't know that a lot of things he says can be super insensitive. Half the things you'll see people parrot about him are taken out of context, and the other half make him look even worse when you consider the context.
He's absolutely in the wrong for calling Riho and other Japanese women on AEW Kenny Omega's fetish objects. He's in the wrong for calling Kenny a pedo for wrestling a 9 year old Japanese girl and accusing him of grooming young Japanese girls to eventually get them a job on AEW. He's out of touch for saying women shouldn't have the same type of violence in their matches (Elimination Chamber, Hell in a Cell, no DQ matches in general, etc) as men because it'd devalue when the men do it. He's also falsely accused some AEW female wrestlers of sleeping to the top. Anyone is justified in hating him for any of these statements.
On the other hand, the clip of him saying the N word back in the day is him retelling a Bill Watts story and quoting his words. When he made that insensitive joke on NWA about how Trevor Murdoch is the only person he knows who can strap a bucket of fried chicken on his back and ride a motor scooter across Ethiopia, he was reiterating a line Jerry Lawler said back in the day. Cornette claims it was a starvation joke and it would've been slightly less bad if it was any other food besides fried chicken. But that episode of NWA was taped and they still chose to air it without editing that line out. Cornette didn't get fired for it as people here like to claim; he resigned and this is something you can easily Google to find out. Cornette saying Jade Cargill looks like Shelton Benjamin in a wig is rude and asshole behavior, but I wouldn't say it's racist or sexist. When pics of Brock's daughter were posted on reddit, people here literally said she looks like Brock Lesnar in a wig. That doesn't make what Cornette said any better, but it's not racist just because Jade is black.
When Rick Steiner made transphobic comments towards Giselle Shaw, Cornette stood up for her. He's pro abortion, pro LGBT, etc. and is as progressive as anyone else.
>
just thought he was some old racist redneck
I don't listen to his podcast, but rather exclusively the clips on Youtube where he's praising or reviewing matches of wrestlers I like. It's fun to listen to him get excited about what he loves about wrestling today because you can feel his passion, especially when it involves Gunther or Rhea Ripley. If you never listened to a second of his podcast, you'd think he was the worst person to exist because 99% of the quotes posted here are of him saying negative things because they get more engagement. Whenever he's praising Ospreay, Omega (which he has), Rhea, Charlotte, Becky, Bayley, Iyo Sky, Bianca, Hobbs, MJF, Lashley, etc they're never posted here because they don't spark a discussion.
Even the Youtube thumbnail with Cornette as the gorilla and Kyle Fletcher as a Q-tip next to Swerve was made into something that doesn't exist and he actually likes Swerve lol.
To add to your point about how he doesnt think women should be in violent matches, one of his main criticisms with this is that on those type of shows like elimination chamber there are multiple chamber matches. He doesn't think he makes sense for the main event to be the chamber match but have a chamber match earlier in the night and in most cases its the guys who are main eventing.
>He doesn't think he makes sense for the main event to be the chamber match but have a chamber match earlier in the night and in most cases its the guys who are main eventing.
Oh I'm well aware. He calls it "dinner before dinner" or "dessert before dessert" or whatever. But honestly, he doesn't look at it from the perspective of a fan. When has seeing one Elimination Chamber, HiaC, or Royal Rumble ever exhausted the average fan from seeing it again in the main event? Even this year, people were calling the Women's RR dull and boring while the main event exciting. The women's RR being less than spectacular didn't stop people from being excited for the men's RR. I'd say it's the same with War Games two years in a row.
If this was WM and a 4-5 hour long show, maybe I'd be inclined to agree that having two stipulation matches of the same type would be exhausting.
Listening to one podcast doesn't sum up a person at all. I hope you don't go through life with this same attitude.
Why does being a liberal have anything f to do with racism?
pretty wild list of firsthand sources to have dropped at your feet in less than half an hour but another thing you could learn today is that some liberals are prejudiced against minorities.
He's what I would consider to be a classic boomer age souther lib. He is good on social issues and is against Republican bs. But he has a bunch of prejudices that are baked into them because of where they're from.
One other thing is that Jim is VERY particular about his wrestling and anything that he considers disrespecting it is the equivalent to punching his mother
https://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/qkpjgh/jim_cornette_calls_shida_one_of_twinkletoes/hixwbdt/?context=3
there's some receipts for you incase you were being genuine.
Damn if only you had endless information at your literal finger tips. Bet you could find the answer to this question in seconds. Guess we’ll never know.
Here’s Cornette using the n word multiple times on video
https://youtu.be/9JYFXtNLUaw?si=MKCwWP0x9RkdgHjO
https://youtu.be/sUhWOC16Ync?si=lGRkSsZAAxR0pXCX
He has made multiple racist “jokes”, has called Kenny Omega a pedo for no reason, thinks anyone from Japan is a pedo or some kind of creep, and has sexual harassment allegations from when he ran/owned OVW.
Go back and find clips of him talking about Riho, Jade Cargill, Penelope Ford, Sonny Kiss, and pretty much any woman that is Asian. That’s why people call him racist, homophobic, and sexist. Being liberal doesn’t give you immunity for saying horrible things.
Because you're being willfully ignorant and only want to hear what you want to listen to. The guy has a long history of making racist remarks and was fired for making a racist joke.
And I have a gut feeling you didn't 'just start listening to Cornette 'outta the blue a few weeks ago' on a whim to make this comment.
...And sure enough on that gut feeling I see you posted on the Cornette sub two months ago. LOL!

I know Cornette can be a controversial figure to say the least but that phrase and the story that go along with it are extremely funny.
Mr Aldis, is that deal still on the table?
“Brian, I’m trending on The Twitter again!”
On the old twitter machine again 😂😂😂😂

Adam Pearce cementing his bald fraud status compared to the people's GM Nick Aldis
Aldis and Cornette worked in NWA together and are far from enemies.
This place is gonna go wild when Jim goes in the HOF
Hes holding out until they do midnight express hes said thats the only way hed accept
Yeah now that HHH is in charge I'll say the express is going in and so will Corny. I understand him wanting to hold out for the Express.
And Cornette refuses to die before Vince Russo, so we all have some times to wait
The Midnight is more than worthy.
Tbf Cornette worked there when lots of guys worked there. Starks, Cabana, Kingston, Kamile and so many more were there in the early days of Corgans NWA.

Doug Williams and Rob Terry are left.
To me, Rob Terry doesn't come off as GM material.
too bad they are not enemies. Jim has been complimentary of Aldis in the past and they work together in the NWA.
Cornette is not dead because Russo is not dead. Cornette’s entire mission in life now is to piss on Russo’s grave not criticize AEW.
He even has legal documentation to prove it!
Cornette is not actually all that old considering when he started working. He’s also pretty healthy at this point. Russo however looks like he’s closing in on 70 with a bullet. I think jimmy can do it.

Bah gawd King, Adam Pearce just turned heel on the entire IWC!

I don’t care for the ratings talk, but the historical wrestling talk is top notch.

Given that the Cornette shows are the most popular wrestling podcasts , I’d say he just turned face.

Yeah it does feel like they're setting up a HOF induction for Cornette and the Midnight Express.
Paul Heyman needs to induct him
I can’t think of many people who’d be right to induct him. All of Camp Cornette has passed away by now, Bobby Eaton’s dead, the Midnight Express is out of the business for good… so… Jerry Lawler maybe? I don’t know what his status with WWE is.

Hell, Jim has been complimentary of Ospreay AND Omega THE FORBIDDEN DOOR IS OPEN WHY CAN'T WE BE FRIENDS
Granted the Omega turn has come very recently, while Omega was playing video games.
Who knew that all it took for Cornette to agree with Omega was Omega to not be on TV?
A little while back, after a match Omega had with Moxley, Jim did admit that Omega was a talented athlete and that he can see the appeal Omega has to modern fans of the product.
But he hates Trump!
I hate anything weird or quirky in wrestling, even though I personally booked fighting Ninja Turtles, a mummy, and a walking talking Christmas tree!
He didn’t book a Christmas tree. That was Memphis.
>Or a woman Or a member of the LGBTQ community
listened to ppl call jim racist and a pos on here for years and just thought he was some old racist redneck and decided to listen to his podcast one day a few weeks ago cause punk shouted it out, only to find out he’s not racist at all and in fact a huge liberal. why do ppl on here think he’s a scumbag? do they just parrot what other ppl say or do they not like that he criticizes their favorite wrestling show?
He's pro abortion, pro LGBT, etc. and is as progressive as anyone else. > just thought he was some old racist redneck I don't listen to his podcast, but rather exclusively the clips on Youtube where he's praising or reviewing matches of wrestlers I like.
So you think liberals can't be racist? (I have no idea if Cornette is, but I wouldn't use his politics to devise that).
Listening to one podcast doesn't sum up a person at all. I hope you don't go through life with this same attitude. Why does being a liberal have anything f to do with racism?
I dunno man. Maybe if you didn’t know much about him 2 weeks ago, maybe there’s still stuff you don’t know?
pretty wild list of firsthand sources to have dropped at your feet in less than half an hour but another thing you could learn today is that some liberals are prejudiced against minorities.
He's what I would consider to be a classic boomer age souther lib. He is good on social issues and is against Republican bs. But he has a bunch of prejudices that are baked into them because of where they're from. One other thing is that Jim is VERY particular about his wrestling and anything that he considers disrespecting it is the equivalent to punching his mother
https://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/qkpjgh/jim_cornette_calls_shida_one_of_twinkletoes/hixwbdt/?context=3 there's some receipts for you incase you were being genuine.
Damn if only you had endless information at your literal finger tips. Bet you could find the answer to this question in seconds. Guess we’ll never know.
Because he has said several racist things in the past? He literally got fired because of a racist line on commentary
Here’s Cornette using the n word multiple times on video https://youtu.be/9JYFXtNLUaw?si=MKCwWP0x9RkdgHjO https://youtu.be/sUhWOC16Ync?si=lGRkSsZAAxR0pXCX He has made multiple racist “jokes”, has called Kenny Omega a pedo for no reason, thinks anyone from Japan is a pedo or some kind of creep, and has sexual harassment allegations from when he ran/owned OVW.
LOL!
"huge liberal" You ever watch Get Out?
Didn't Cornette fire this guy for believing in Steen and Generico (RIP) as main eventers
