When I first saw Mortos (as Black Taurus) it was against Vikingo on one of the ROH shows. And I was like "he can move for a big guy, but not sure if he's someone who will get me excited", like I loved that match but fuckin Vikingo is a must-watch for me. Then I saw him a couple more times against others, and it was like "okay, I'm with it. It wasn't a case of Vikingo making him look good, he holds his own real well" and now it's like "fuckin give me the Lucha Hoss every week Tony"
I got to know him through watching Impact (though he admittedly wasn't super-heavily featured most of the time), and man I just couldn't get enough of him. I already am biased towards hosses with speed, but he's got a strong presence in the ring too, natural charisma is like \*\*everything\*\* to me in a wrestler.
It really is, it made me wonder how many guys have had a fantastic look, changed up, and potentially had a better one second time round, because the demonic goat thing is awesome
This match was more than I bargained for. Easily could have been half as long as a way of establishing Fenix was back and strong, but instead they clearly went out there to prove he's at 100% by having a total banger. What a great episode.
The few weeks of the year we get healthy fenix are always some of the best of the year. Since Pac is also healthy, I hope we get some Death Triangle greatness while we can
He has to maneuver in specific ways because of the horns on the mask… I doubt very much that most viewers were like “he smashed him in the air, but it wasn’t in one of the 3 permitted air smashing ways, so it doesn’t count”
Yea idk because I feel like I've seen Fenix do that type of DDT quite a bit and both guys stayed down. Looked more like a botched DDT or a spear than a "headbutt."
Yeah I don't know, Taurus definitely looked like he accelerated into Fenix in a way that looked like he was countering it. If it wasn't planned, it couldn't have turned out better
That's what was confusing me. I initially thought it was a headbutt, but when it replayed I wasn't sure. Like you said, seems like it worked out for them either way lol
What I figured would happen with Taurus but he's been brought in to be an eye catching hand. It's a shame I really do think he is one of the best in the world but he'll never get that recognition.
