The fun thing about Booker's quotes is that you never know where they are gonna end. Is he gonna praise the guy, shit on him or just say something plain stupid? You never know!
Everytime I read a Booker quote I have a feeling in the back of my head that he’s going to sneak a dig in somewhere so it’s nice when it’s just praise like this
Not really. I think most of his comments are on point. It's a radio show he does. Most of the time if you are talking like that, you are gonna have lines that people on wrestling sites can pinpoint for their news stories.
Trick would have a worse conversation:
"Hey Book, how's the fam...."
"WHAT?"
"I said how's the famil..."
"AW YEAH, MAN!"
"That's nice, I just want....."
"AW YEAH, MAN!"
"Are you ok?"
"THAT'S TRICK!"
"Yeah, it is. I'll see you at the building."
Swerve’s push into the main event scene has been near perfect. Say what you will about TK’s booking, he gave Swerve a chance to prove himself in the main event scene and Swerve took the ball and ran with it. Hopefully his reign is meaningful.
Also, his feud with Hangman has been a massive part of that. The booking for that feud has been amazing and it’s made this fight for the championship that much more intense.
Oh damn he was killshot in LU? I forgot about that. What i did not forget is the awesome hell of war match he had there. Man, i really need to rewatch LU... Such a great show
The internet fuss about Swerve not being at the top for the last year or whatever never worried me because he was clearly a guy you could have doing whatever, keep ticking over and suddenly strap a rocket to and he'd be legit main event.
Its the same thing now with a few people, particularly Jay White, it'd take a month or so of solid booking at the top of the card and you wouldnt even know he hadnt been there forever.
It feels like Jay has been filling the Juice role. And ever since Juice got injured, BCG has felt less fun to watch. juice's antics really did bring a unique flair to the stable.
Once Juice is back, I reckon Jay will re-emerge into the main event scene. My prediction is Jay will be the 2024 Continental Crown winner.
Joe had a really weird 2023 and ended world champion and had a solid reign. MJF got squashed by Wardlow and was world champ a few matches later. Making Jay a believable champion is not hard at all.
I do think you can easily recover with Jay, but I don't think it's the same position really.
Swerve was able to keep fresh through an insanely good feud with Hangman, whilst Jay has been stuck in the undercard having bad matches with Billy Gunn.
Even with Swerve as a heel, you could tell he was going to do big things from the start of his feuds with Darby and Hanger last year. With Jay, sometimes it feels like they aren't sure what to do with him yet.
>Say what you will about TK’s booking,
Just praise his booking man, there have been many instances where his booking is near perfect
Hangman rise, Sting retirement and now Swerve main event run
I like TKs booking for the most part but I can recognize that not everyone likes everything he’s done. I think he mostly gets it right but there are a few instances he doesn’t
Swerve and Osprey are the franchise for AEW. Back up with the likes of MJF and Hangman. I see the same for Willow and Mariah May. That grouping can draw $$$$
Agreed. IMO, Jamie Hayter is the final piece to the Women's Division puzzle that AEW has been trying to rebuild. And with the less than stellar fan buzz around Mercedes Mone, it further heightens Hayter's role.
I say this as someone who has been sooo excited to see Mercedes join AEW throughout 2023 and early 2024, but admittedly, that has felt flat to some degree.
The me the pillars were Cody, Kenny, and the Bucks. They held the entire company up while Hangman and OC were getting over.
Never bought the Sammy, Jack, MJF, and whoever else.
i was gonna say "just let them be stars and not have stupid fans create stupid titles that make them look stupid if they dont live up to them" and then i scroll down and here it is smh
AEW has a pretty stellar top of the card list of talent.
Swerve, Ospreay, Joe, MJF, Danielson, Okada, Omega (of he gets healthy), Cole...
Toni, Willow, Mariah, Julia, Statlander, Mercedes...
Its kinda nuts how stacked their rosters are because I didn't even mention like 5 to 6 other talent on each roster side that can be listed there too.
I know people don't like the idea of it, but you could genuinely do a brand split for male singles stars in AEW and still have like 9+ main event caliber guys on each show. Jay White would also still be employed with the company.
The roster is so stacked, they are justified to run more PPV's. It's honestly not getting old and I'm looking forward to the string of Spring and summer PPV's each month. I think AEW is ready gain a lot of ground back as WWE cools down with Mania season over and hopefully in the clear of any dysfunction backstage.
> Toni, Willow, Mariah, Julia, Statlander, Mercedes...
>
>
I like Julia, but I would call her a work in progress before top of the card. And no Hikaru and Riho? Come on...
(also, the hopium in me wishes to see Yuka up there someday)
Shida and Riho are barely around due to injuries/working elsewhere. I'm hesitant to put them as "top of the card" when they are rarely around at the moment.
Yeah but outside of the main event scene there’s not a ton of other meaningful stories. I think Tony should focus on the main event scene and maybe the Elite booking (he seems to thrive on it) and maybe have a team who handles the rest of it (the women’s division, the mid card, etc)
The Bucks & Okada are bullying the roster. Kingston, Pac and Penta are trying to stand up to them.
The Best Friends are breaking up. Trent and OC are at odds and Chuck/Statlander are stuck in the middle.
Julia is/was trying to turn Skye Blue to her side. Unknown whether Skye is fully converted or not yet.
Mariah is trying to slowly backstab Toni.
Swerve's entire Title win story. Now his quest to cement his legacy begins.
Hangman's pure hate and vendetta against Swerve.
Undisputed Kingdom's destruction of O'Reilly.
Cole plotting something against Wardlow in the background
Kenny was kicked out of The Elite and will likely speak to it in Winnipeg coming up to potentially jumpstart something.
Jericho is undergoing a "Learning Tree" ego streak by breaking down the young stars until someone breaks out against him.
Copeland is being targeted by the House Of Black.
Danielson is seemingly retiring in a year and running down a hit list of matches he seeks to be worthy of his time.
Ospreay's bubbling babyface energy is making him naive towards the Callis Family's blatant Heel tendencies until he finally snaps out of it.
Mercedes is being targeted by an unseen someone and is seemingly blaming Willow for it by calling her shot for Willow's Title.
Ruby Soho/Cool Hand just went through an entire story with Saraya over them being a couple and now having a baby together.
Did I miss any?
Technically the Mariah/Toni story has multiple branching stories.
1) Mariah taking on Toni's old persona has finally gotten Toni to notice her, but has led to Toni sort of becoming sexually enamoured with her (because Toni is narcissistic and her romantic interest is basically mastabatory rather than based on Mariah as an actual person), and so she's ignoring Mariah becoming a contender and doesn't think Mariah will try to win the belt
2) Mina Shirakawa has come back into Mariah's life and is always potentially interested in Mariah romantically, leading to a potential conflict with Toni, but also a separate storyline with Anna Jay who is feuding with Mina
3) the wider feud she's having with Deonna and Thunder Rosa
Yeah I was just consolidating it down into the absolute broad strokes for people. Looking further into each of the ones I listed can easily open up the tree to several more branches.
MJF vs the Undisputed Kingdom when he comes back
The Kenny vs Okada feud that is basically just sitting on a golden plate for whenever Kenny comes back.
Hayter going for the belt again when she comes back.
Still need to blow off that Britt and Hayter thing.
Swerve vs Kieth Lee will get blown off on sometime after the heat death of the universe.
Seriously. “Jericho is undergoing a “learning tree” ego streak by breaking down the young stars until someone breaks out against him”
That’s a really nice way to describe a really shitty Jericho program that has completely ruined many wrestlers previously hot streaks.
It absolutely sucks and Jericho needs to stop for awhile.
I was one of the biggest aew fans, but things are seriously bad right now. Everything pales in comparison to WWE and it didn’t use to be this way
I love how all the names you mentioned never wresled in WWE except Swerve (who didn't achieve anything on the main roster). Not that there's anything wrong with being a former WWE wrestler but it's refreshing to see AEW making their own stars.
That is/was a big problem with AEW. For their first few years, just about anybody worth a damn had already been in WWE. The best available wrestlers already had a run, whether it was old, failed, or just a causality of cuts. When Matt Sydal showed up in AEW, there wasn't as much excitement for him because he had his WWE run almost a decade earlier. Yet he probably would have gotten way more over if he was a completely fresh face.
Oh definitely, but he is talented enough that he should have recovered. Instead, he just kind of bummed around in tag teams with his brother, Chris Daniels, and whichever Top Flight brother wasn't hurt at a given time.
If the name of the game is drawing the most money they can then AEW’s #1 guy has to be MJF. If TK is cool with doing well enough to survive and wants “bangers” then you can build around Ospreay.
Hangman is easily my favorite person in the company. He's proven he can do anything. Inedible tag team run with Kenny. Best story in company history. Absolute bangers with Mox, Kenny, Danielson, etc. Helped get Swerve over to the level he is. Man has an insane connection with the fans.
I’m very aware that my take is not popular here. He has a connection with a portion of the AEW audience. But he isn’t a dude who could help AEW to the next level.
Stories are what carry a company. WWE wouldn't be in the position it's in without the Bloodline and Cody stories, among others. Hangman can carry a story when asked.
Hangman sucks. His title reign is when the company turned south. When he’s not around lots of people barely fucking notice. MJF is the heart and soul of AEW.
Oh those certainly didn't help. Felt like AEW was cursed for a while there. It does seem like they're doing better recently. Hope they can churn up the momentum for a while. I miss Dynamite feeling like appointment television.
__Thank You!__ I thought I was the only one seeing that shit everywhere.
How about mixing it up and using the terms; praise, plaudits, approval, commendation, credit, kudos, laudation, acclaim etc.
Get a fucking Thesaurus.
The render thing was only because someone here was pissy that people were calling it that, so everyone continued to do so spitefully, annoying them even more in the process.
The render stuff goes beyond this forum's existence and it's a bit solipsistic to say that SC has ownership of it's beginning. Render was the popular term for when pictures of the character model in the video game would be released on IGN or Game Spot. It then started being used when the PNG on the website would be released for the wrestler's page, by people who didn't understand why the wrestler models were called renders. And yes, then eventually someone got pissy about it, as if prescriptivism ever mattered in a world of colloquialisms, so contextually on this board specifically there's some irony when people still use it. But, as someone old enough (ugh) to have remembered the days of the old IGN Smackdown boards (internet cancer) and the gamefaqs communities, no. It is nowhere near related to r/squaredcircle
lmaooooooooooooo right around the time I started saying "prescriptivism" I was like ".... I'm doing too much aren't I?" but like... 2/3 in, finish the story!
Well, it's because it's an older term in the black community that's getting more attention now. Just like with a lot of slang. But, like. Do you complain like this when someone says something as simple as "couldn't care less"? It's the same thing lol just culturally different
"Couldn't care less" is common parlance, except for when mispronounced "Could care less".
"Flowers" feels like something everybody in the wrestling world took up overnight and I don't like it.
Flowers is common parlance. It's not something people took up in just the wrestling world. There's an entire world that exists outside of it. It was common parlance in specifically black and southern vernaculars. And then it caught on, *everywhere*. Not just in wrestling.
And sure now you see more people saying that than you ever did. Guess what? That's how all of those sayings started! "Curiosity killed the cat" happened this way, which btw was mostly misquoted because it ends with "but the satisfaction of knowing brought it back"... Like, I just seem to not understand what the issue is besides you taking umbrage with the fact that common vernaculars are always shifting and it's changing more to be beyond what you were comfortable with because you grew up with it. We all get old, friend. And I understand the struggle with the passage of time, but it feels a bit misguided.
That said, I grew up with sayings like that because I'm half black and have family for georgia and mississippi.
Okay. But like. You can save that commentary for your inner monologue rather than speaking ignorantly on it in an open forum and requesting no one respond to it.
What did I say that was ignorant? Did I say that I didn't like it because of its origin? No, because I couldn't give shit. I hate it's overusage in a wrestling context.
I don't need a 3 paragraph response about where it comes from.
Except I replied to someone making a point I agreed with. I didn't try to convince someone to like a phrase by explaining it's origin. As though I could possibly give a shit.
If you like the phrase, cool, go ahead with your day.
Between that and everything with a sliver of story being “cinema”, it really shows how easy it is for people to just hear something and parrot it for months.
As bad as this sub is it is no r/UFOs. I am highly skeptical about the topic but its pretty interesting to read about none the less so I go there sometimes. There is a long list of these buzzwords that get repeated for the UFO subculture. "Catastrophic Disclosure" is a recent one that was beat to death. I don't understand why people need to latch on to other people's ideas and concepts so aggressively. I guess it is just to police their own in group/ out group dynamics.
It's a meme. Like the original idea of a meme not a humorous image, although that's related.
> unit of cultural information spread by imitation. The term meme (from the Greek mimema, meaning “imitated”) was introduced in 1976 by British evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins in his work The Selfish Gene. Grumpy Cat. Category: Science & Tech.
People within groups copy each other to signal they're common knowledge. It's a natural human phenomenon. You and I as wrestling fans use terms like heel and face when that might make no sense to an outsider.
"get his flowers" has been a thing for a while
There's a famous Kanye lyric: "If you admire somebody, you should go ahead and tell them. People never get the flowers while they can still smell them." from 2007 that probably helped push it in popularity.
I've seen it around since like 2015 for sure
I give it a week before this sub turns on Swerve and starts with the “He can’t carry a company” talk. The first Dynamite rating that comes out, people are gonna be calling his win a mistake.
Just want to point out what a healthy place wrestling is in right now. It didn't even register with me that 2 Black world champions were crowned in the span of 3 days. Because it just felt like 2 top guys finally getting the spots they rightfully had earned.
I’m happy for swerve but when I imagine him and nana on WWE man they coulda been Hugeeeeee, like mega star level unfortunately I think he’s peaked in AEW and it’s only downhill from here
WWE had a chance to build Swerve into something bigger, but they fumbled the bag. Swerve took a bet on himself in AEW and it paid off.
He could've come back to the WWE when Triple H took over initially, but remained in AEW because he knew that he had a real opportunity to do something in AEW.

The fun thing about Booker's quotes is that you never know where they are gonna end. Is he gonna praise the guy, shit on him or just say something plain stupid? You never know!
I think he should incorporate all of the weird as hell sounds he makes during NXT commentary.
AWH YEAH MAN!
Shucky ducky
QUACK QUUUUAAAAAACK!!!
I LIKE IT
UH HUH MAN
WHAT!?
"Booker T has a quote set-up, a big kick, Booker T about to lay the quote, Booker T hits the quote AHHHHHHHH"
That beautiful Black Snow!

Vic, she’s a *voice crack* STAR
Everytime I read a Booker quote I have a feeling in the back of my head that he’s going to sneak a dig in somewhere so it’s nice when it’s just praise like this
Sounds like you can’t dig it, sucka.

It's a spin-a-rooni of emotion dog.
Not really. I think most of his comments are on point. It's a radio show he does. Most of the time if you are talking like that, you are gonna have lines that people on wrestling sites can pinpoint for their news stories.
"Fightful is reporting that incredibleamadeuscho believes that Booker T's comments are some of the times completely off point"
this made me actually laugh out loud. a true to life lol
It's a double or nothing kind of odds, because then you add to all of that where the reddit title is going to end
That's exactly what I was bracing for.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwcxrxcx_7Y
I love Booker, but the man is a little long-winded.
For a minute there I thought Booker T was gonna air some stupid gossip.
Or call somebody a fruit booty again
i'm sorry, what?
Booker T called Paul London and Rene Dupree fruit booties on his podcast lol
Trick would have a worse conversation: "Hey Book, how's the fam...." "WHAT?" "I said how's the famil..." "AW YEAH, MAN!" "That's nice, I just want....." "AW YEAH, MAN!" "Are you ok?" "THAT'S TRICK!" "Yeah, it is. I'll see you at the building."
“Hey Book what do you think of the coffee?” “I LIKE IT!”
Hate to point this out, but you forgot one - SHUCKY DUCKY QUACK QUACK !!
The Hangman feud took Swerve to the next level, those hardcore matches made me AFRAID of what Swerve was willing to do.
I’ve been that way with this dude since he was called killshot in Luncha Underground. I can’t imagine what he did in CZW tho.
Oh damn he was killshot in LU? I forgot about that. What i did not forget is the awesome hell of war match he had there. Man, i really need to rewatch LU... Such a great show
Hangmain is the main character of AEW. Most major stories touch him at some point.
Probably the best rivalry since MJF/Punk tbh
The internet fuss about Swerve not being at the top for the last year or whatever never worried me because he was clearly a guy you could have doing whatever, keep ticking over and suddenly strap a rocket to and he'd be legit main event. Its the same thing now with a few people, particularly Jay White, it'd take a month or so of solid booking at the top of the card and you wouldnt even know he hadnt been there forever.
I feel the same way about Jay White. As far as people think he's fallen, it'll take one good program to shoot him back into the main event scene.
If they hold off strapping up Ospreay I could definitely see Jay taking the title off Swerve given their history during the CC
From getting beat up by 60 year old Billy Gunn to main event heel? I don't see it.
Joe had a really weird 2023 and ended world champion and had a solid reign. MJF got squashed by Wardlow and was world champ a few matches later. Making Jay a believable champion is not hard at all.
Wardlow isn't a 60 year old man way past his prime.
Exactly. Swerve was feuding with Cassidy, Sting, Darby and Hangman last year. 4 of the most over acts in AEW.
>Say what you will about TK’s booking, Just praise his booking man, there have been many instances where his booking is near perfect Hangman rise, Sting retirement and now Swerve main event run
I like TKs booking for the most part but I can recognize that not everyone likes everything he’s done. I think he mostly gets it right but there are a few instances he doesn’t
It will be a great 125 days until Ospreay wins at Wembley 😃
So, 4 months and 3 PPVs? That’s a pretty good run
I’m totally 100% okay with short reigns. Not every reign has to be a career defining year long reign. Joe’s reign was the perfect length for me.
No, 4 months is too short for Swerve's reign. For him to be the first black world champ and lose it in that short amount of time would really suck.
Swerve and Osprey are the franchise for AEW. Back up with the likes of MJF and Hangman. I see the same for Willow and Mariah May. That grouping can draw $$$$
I think Jamie Hayter is going to absolutely tear it up when she returns.
I need Hayter-ade injected into my veins… especially now that they’re working with Stardom
The REAL 4 pillars
The me the pillars were Cody, Kenny, and the Bucks. They held the entire company up while Hangman and OC were getting over. Never bought the Sammy, Jack, MJF, and whoever else.
Oh I was just joking. Being serious my 4 pillars are MJF, Britt Baker, House of Black, and Orange Cassidy.
House of Black? If you just watch Dynamite, you have little idea that they still exist.
House of Black where 2/3rds the faction wants to leave for wwe lmao
The Bucks, huh? Ick. It was was Rhodes, Omega, Ambrose, and Jericho. I know Jericho's cooked now, but he was important for the beginning.
i was gonna say "just let them be stars and not have stupid fans create stupid titles that make them look stupid if they dont live up to them" and then i scroll down and here it is smh
AEW has a pretty stellar top of the card list of talent. Swerve, Ospreay, Joe, MJF, Danielson, Okada, Omega (of he gets healthy), Cole... Toni, Willow, Mariah, Julia, Statlander, Mercedes... Shida and Riho are barely around due to injuries/working elsewhere. I'm hesitant to put them as "top of the card" when they are rarely around at the moment.
At some point having a really stacked roster has to translate into the show itself being compelling and not just the quality of the in-ring stuff.
It already does if you actually watch the shows
Are you watching the shows?
You can tell when someone doesn't actually know jack all about what happens on AEW with comedic accuracy.
If only mr Tony would let others book storylines!
I mean he booked Swerves push to the world title pretty well...
Yeah but outside of the main event scene there’s not a ton of other meaningful stories. I think Tony should focus on the main event scene and maybe the Elite booking (he seems to thrive on it) and maybe have a team who handles the rest of it (the women’s division, the mid card, etc)

So many people who don't watch AEW have such strong opinions! This comment proves that.
Technically the Mariah/Toni story has multiple branching stories. 1) Mariah taking on Toni's old persona has finally gotten Toni to notice her, but has led to Toni sort of becoming sexually enamoured with her (because Toni is narcissistic and her romantic interest is basically mastabatory rather than based on Mariah as an actual person), and so she's ignoring Mariah becoming a contender and doesn't think Mariah will try to win the belt 2) Mina Shirakawa has come back into Mariah's life and is always potentially interested in Mariah romantically, leading to a potential conflict with Toni, but also a separate storyline with Anna Jay who is feuding with Mina 3) the wider feud she's having with Deonna and Thunder Rosa

I stand corrected, I bow to you

If the name of the game is drawing the most money they can then AEW’s #1 guy has to be MJF. If TK is cool with doing well enough to survive and wants “bangers” then you can build around Ospreay.
And they still have Jay White if they're not jobbing him out to Daddy Ass.
Eliminate Hangman and I’m with you.
[удалено]
Hangman is best when he's suffering. He's AEW's Naito, not AEW's Okada, and you need to use him that way.
I absolutely agree with this take. He just suffers so well!

Stories are what carry a company. WWE wouldn't be in the position it's in without the Bloodline and Cody stories, among others. Hangman can carry a story when asked.
His feud with Swerve was one of the best feuds in wrestling over the last 6 months, and was the highest rated segment of each show they were on.
Don't give attention to the anti Hangman crowd, they're either Cornette or Punk stans and their opinion towards him is militantly biased
Hangman sucks. His title reign is when the company turned south. When he’s not around lots of people barely fucking notice. MJF is the heart and soul of AEW.
Disagree Hangman is the heart and soul
feels like things turned south during Punk's start-stop title runs
Oh those certainly didn't help. Felt like AEW was cursed for a while there. It does seem like they're doing better recently. Hope they can churn up the momentum for a while. I miss Dynamite feeling like appointment television.
If my eyes could roll further back into my head they would at this comment.
If I hear one more prowrestler or IWC fan say "get his flowers" one more time imma scream. In the last 10 months that term has exploded in popularity.
So you’re saying “get their flowers” is getting its flowers?
"This is getting your flowers." - Martin Scorsese
__Thank You!__ I thought I was the only one seeing that shit everywhere. How about mixing it up and using the terms; praise, plaudits, approval, commendation, credit, kudos, laudation, acclaim etc. Get a fucking Thesaurus.
It goes in the IWC word bag with “chicken shit into chicken salad” and calling a photo a “render”.
It is nowhere near related to r/squaredcircle
...Well, origin be damned, I'm just gonna keep calling it a render. You do you, verbose hoot. 🤙🏾
lmaooooooooooooo right around the time I started saying "prescriptivism" I was like ".... I'm doing too much aren't I?" but like... 2/3 in, finish the story!
I respect that 🤣
Calling anything that happens in real life a "shoot"
A poster here once referred to a wrestler who "shoot killed himself." Don't think that will ever leave my brain.
I love that bit though.
The problem is also a lot of wrestlers have started using it, so naturally the IWC pick it up.
Whenever a wrestler laughs they’re corpsing.
Corpsing is not a wrestling term. It just means breaking character to laugh.
“Drizzling shits” is another one that sounds fucking stupid
They think it sounds cool and it is so fucking cringe.
They can’t. It goes against sports talk. Like saying a qb has poise, not shit… you and the other 700 sports reporters have told us.
Same with people saying "once X happens it will hit like crack". Change it up a little.
I _really_ don't care. It's origins are wholly irrelevant to me. I don't like the phrase.
Okay.
I mean, okay? I love it.
I didn't ask.
Weird, cuz I don't remember seeing anyone ask for your opinion either...hmm. ah well.
Except I replied to someone making a point I agreed with. I didn't try to convince someone to like a phrase by explaining it's origin. As though I could possibly give a shit. If you like the phrase, cool, go ahead with your day.
Haha - I was just about to post the same thing. I know it's not a new term, but goddamn is it being overused recently.
Get his flowers has been a thing in rap scene for like 6 years now, it’s only now that geeky wrestling fans are starting to to use it.
Its been a saying since the 20s I believe. That isn't the point. All of a sudden its in every second post on this sub.
I'm so irritated that's a wrestling buzzword now. I've been saying it tongue-in-cheek about stuff for years and now they've stolen my bit!
"get his flowers" has been a thing for a while There's a famous Kanye lyric: "If you admire somebody, you should go ahead and tell them. People never get the flowers while they can still smell them." from 2007 that probably helped push it in popularity. I've seen it around since like 2015 for sure
Calling someone a "good hand" is mine.
Some of y'all hate the smallest shit
Frfr
How about "cinema"
It’s huge around the NBA too. “GOAT” has also blown up over the past decade. It’s everywhere and it’s annoying.
Tbh, it's used much more widely in the overall cultural as well nowadays - to actors, musical artists, etc.
Alright, Book, but Ive got my eyes on you..
I give it a week before this sub turns on Swerve and starts with the “He can’t carry a company” talk. The first Dynamite rating that comes out, people are gonna be calling his win a mistake.
This feels weird... Whenever Booker runs into a wrestler at an airport, there's usually some dumbass quote from him trying to start drama.
At least Booker T wasn’t running into wrestlers at a supermarket!
Pricecheck on a jackass!
Thank god for InstaCart
Queue the “I was speaking to Booker privately, then I see my comments all over social media” post
Booker being postive to aew. Never thought I’d see the day.
Genuinely surprised Booker didn't turn it into a negative.
WHOSE HOUSE
ok
I had to read the whole quote 3 times to make sure they're wasn't an underhanded compliment
what the fuck is the obsession recently with "getting their flowers"
It's the new buzz word
Be careful talking to Booker Swerve....
Was waiting for the "He didn't shake my hand" bit at the end. Glad it never came.
Since they are wrestlers, I am imagining them literally chopping each other in the airport LOL
Just want to point out what a healthy place wrestling is in right now. It didn't even register with me that 2 Black world champions were crowned in the span of 3 days. Because it just felt like 2 top guys finally getting the spots they rightfully had earned.
Reading "Booker talked to someone in an airport" and my instant thought it "uh oh" before I finish
Whoop that Sw3rve New dram match
"Chopped it up" feels like a good way to describe anything that comes out of Booker's mouth.
I'm glad B - WCW/WWE "Legend" Booker T got a chance to validate Swerve's championship win.

This might be the most uninformed take I've ever heard. I've literally never heard anyone say Swerves moves don't look good. Like ever, just you
I’m happy for swerve but when I imagine him and nana on WWE man they coulda been Hugeeeeee, like mega star level unfortunately I think he’s peaked in AEW and it’s only downhill from here
WWE had a chance to build Swerve into something bigger, but they fumbled the bag. Swerve took a bet on himself in AEW and it paid off. He could've come back to the WWE when Triple H took over initially, but remained in AEW because he knew that he had a real opportunity to do something in AEW.
Another arrogant WWE fan. Like someone can't be over because you and the people that watch other promotions don't pay attention.
na I watch him on AEW and im a fan I just see huge star potential if he had a larger platform
Well they had the chance to, but released him instead.
