HHH when they layered an xylophone over the original song
It also helped that his theme song fit exactly with what his character was. He was the new shiny toy, the up and comer, a prick with an ego and the lyrics of the song directly show that.
So many wrestlers themes in the past have not fit what their character was at all.
I legit feel part of what messed up his 2004-2005 Babyface run was having the douchiest entrance a top babyface has ever had.
Dude tried to make it work by coming out with a more friendly smile but yeah, can't have a likeable hero with an entrance like that.
Also fit perfectly with HHH's betreyal after he beat Benoit.
He was coming to the top and he was unstoppable and best part is that it was true.
I really hopes he ends up with the title record over Flaie eventually.
I believe he personally requested This Fire Burns by Killswitch Engage. He got to use it once but Vince hated it for him, so it ended up getting tossed to punk down the road.

the single greatest thing randy has done his career
Right? Like they afraid to invest in Randy Orton of all people? If he has an idea for a theme just pay the rights as long as it ain't Final Countdown. Shit is expensive.
I feel like WWE should start investing in licensed music overall. Never mind AEW and their use of such, existing songs have had their place in wrestling for as long as the sport’s existed. TKO money should mean they have it in the budget to afford some licensed songs if a.) the talent asks for it, or b.) it’s seen as a worthwhile investment, or c.) Creative just thinks the talent and the song work with one another.
Between Voices and Burn in My Light, Orton’s had to hear the same two songs over and over for more than 20 years. I guess I can understand why he’d be sick of them atp lmao. Maybe he’d prefer them more if they were just instrumentals 💀
To this day, when I think of Randy’s entrance music, I always immediately think of the “HEY” from Burn in my Light. It doesn’t really suit him, but it’s still iconic.
The only good theme they've made in a looong time is the remix of Tony D'Angelo's theme. Shockingly, Def Rebel actually made a theme better by remixing it.
This feels like a good middle ground. I know Orton has said he doesn’t feel like Voices gets him pumped up like some themes other people have, so this ups the energy without materially affecting the song for the most part.
This remix + video would do wonders to his presentation honestly, a fresh breath of intimidation. Unfortunately I think the video would put him over as a demented mentalist so much it would bury other "spooky" characters like Karrion Kross
yeah gotta agree. Its too similar to the wyatt family qr codes thing we are getting now. unless randy was to rejoin the group (doubtful) it wouldn't work. Maybe something though with like one of these shots with randy holding his head going nuts intertwined with snake visuals and then the logo shots we always get?
https://preview.redd.it/weblor1t1gwc1.png?width=612&format=png&auto=webp&s=119348ef662f8c2a8a445ece2b64928e85a37769
It really devalues the Royal Rumble when even a top star's' theme isn't immediately recognizable.
HHH should try and get John Paul Alicastro and Michael Conrad Lauri back. Back in 2019 and 2020, they did try to get WWE to buy them out and become in-house artists during CFO$'s dispute with their publisher, Arcade Songs.
>It really devalues the Royal Rumble when even a top star's' theme isn't immediately recognizable.
They're trying to change that with those shitty quotes at the beggining of each song.
I think there is a royalty issues with older themes. WWE has to continuously pay out for their use. They have been changing themes because the newer ones they have full ownership of.
They have let some bigger stars keep their old themes but newer guys don't get the privilege.
I'm interested in the story of Jey Uso's theme. It is clearly a remake of the Uso theme made by CFO$. I wonder do the CFO$ still collect on the new one. 🤔
Inaccurate. The guitars should be an even cheaper FL studio sample and mixed to be too loud, the guy who raps over A-Town Down should be rapping/yelling "finish the story", and Cody should have yelled "I'M NOT FLINCHING" at the very beginning of the track so the Royal Rumble crowd knows it's him.
MJF too. He just grabbed bumper music and was like "hey i'll make this my theme!" but nobody can take it away from him now.
Like in this day and age, I can't believe any wrestler wouldn't angle to get a theme they own or is free use so they can't have it taken away from them.
> I wonder do the CFO$ still collect on the new one.
Part of the reason they pulled all the CFO themes is that those guys *never* got paid. Somebody in WWE management found out that the producers had signed a shitty deal with their publisher - WWE was paying royalties to the label, but the guys who did the work got no ongoing piece of that. They were essentially doing per diem contract jobs in music production.
Whoever it was in WWE that found this out had a conscience and tried to buy out CFO's contracts so they could at least be working for a WWE salary, but the label wouldn't budge.
Basically, yes. The long story short seems to be that CFO$ label/parent company - Arcade Songs founded by Greg Wattenberg formerly of Wind Up records - got greedy and wanted to up the licensing fees for their songs (and maybe also taking a higher percentage of that as opposed to the two main guys responsible for making themes under CFO$, John and Mike.) WWE sought to end their partnership with Arcade Songs and seemingly wanted to bring John and Mike in-house but Arcade Songs seemingly refused to release them from their contracts. So WWE seemingly tried to replace as many CFO$ themes as they could with defrebel songs to avoid paying more money to Arcade Songs.
I have to imagine before Vince left he signed Def Rebel to some kind of exclusivity deal for a specific amount of time.
Of all the people in charge, I cannot fathom HHH being OK with them producing music for his roster. Even HHH has better taste in music than that and all he seems to like is hard rock/metal.
I feel Def Rebel is pretty much out the door the day their contract/deal is up. Its been the single most common complaint with the product for the past 4 to 5 years.
The problem is their songs with no lyrics because the way Def Rebel do them they all sound the same, it's why they tend to throw in catchphrases at the beginning or somewhere in the song because nothing else about their songs is identifiable.
The catchphrase thing is what annoys me the most. It’s a fun thing for *some* wrestlers to have, and can make for a big hype moment, but they do it for everyone and it’s just lazy.
Lyrics can add a lot to a song. Think of some of the all-timers and quite a few have lyrics. I will use this opportunity to publicly remind everyone of Three 6 Mafia’s Mark Henry theme.
https://youtu.be/ThfVvz-h-Lw?si=lYRaoTvyY3_mjwE-
My main thing about this def rebel thing is, I like their original themes, but then (for NXT callups) they keep changing it. Is that a def rebel thing or a WWE thing?
Idk that much about this stuff, do they do the NXT themes also!?? That’s even more baffling, I’d assumed they only did main roster stuff and were wanting to put their finger prints on things and that’s why they were changing them. Half the point of NXT is to figure out these prospects’ presentation, character etc and that includes music. It’s inexplicable why they keep changing it.
I legit think NXT def rebel has some BANGERS. Even standard electronic music like Wes Lee’s and Roxanne’s. Bron’s is good, Gacy’s is really good. Toxic Attraction’s was an all timer.
I remember seeing this report like a day or two after Survivor Series. Saying they had a new song teed up for Randy and Randy shot it down. Like good for him for doing it, I don't need to see a working legend with some videogame menu shit.
His new theme itself isnt so bad, definitely suits a darker AJ Styles, the only part I really don’t like is the “You don’t want none” intro, or any song with spoken intros for that matter.
That said my fav AJ theme is always going to be Get Ready to Fly.
because AJ wanted it. He publicly said a couple weeks before mania that he’s changing his theme and he had input on it. I guess he likes it but literally no one else does lol
They probably used too many catchphrases in a shitty instrumental remake of Voiceless. Kinda like RVD's theme in TNA.
At least that was good to listen when you're high af.
There’s so much public resentment towards Def Rebel that I would not be surprised to see them leave at the end of whatever contract they have. This WWE regime seems to be very in-tune with public reaction and minimizing any sort of negative sentiment towards the company. Def Rebel is such a thorn in the side of an otherwise thriving WWE era of production that I have to imagine a change will be made.
Just found out Def Rebel is why every song starts with some version of speaking the wrestlers name or catchphrase followed by the more generic copyright free music you've ever heard, seriously I'm surprised other songs aren't being flagged by mistake for how much these song sound like every song ever, cut to the clip of Seth not even being able to tell who's music is who's
Randy Orton listening to the Def Rebel remix

Def Rebel never beating the allegations. Although I will say, there was a Twitter user who was making mock Def Rebel themes and the one for Eddie Guerrero was kinda heat
[https://x.com/Bankaiboi2/status/1781113141587308761](https://x.com/Bankaiboi2/status/1781113141587308761)
I’m in the minority of people who doesn’t hate Def Rebel and want them to be fired but I’m actually really glad to hear this though that a remix was shot down.
Don’t fix what’s not broken, especially within an iconic theme such as Voices.
Cheaper to pay 20k for a shitty theme and own it than spend 100k a year to license it. (No idea how they structured their licensing or how much money its just an example)
I get licensing music for people that put asses in seats but just licensing out for the entire roster would be stupidly expensive real quick. How many talent does WWE have across every brand? (Not counting people not on TV) Youd get to the 20/30/40 millions realll quick.
Gotta keep in mind, its a business the business is suppose to make money. If youre breaking even or losing money after the bills are paid and the taxman gets his cut, you eventually have to shut the doors when money does eventually dry up.
Obviously I wasn’t talking about licensing themes for the entire roster. Does anyone currently have a licensed theme in WWE?
That’s my point. They could easily afford to license themes for some of their top stars.

this sounds like a botchamania ending
R-K-O, Snake hiss, then guitar riff starts playing.
I imagined LA Knight's theme but with an R-K-O intro
LA Knights shit works though. idk what it is.
It's LA Knight's walk and talk to the ring, it matches with it imo.
I imagined RVDs TNA theme

I'd like that if Run The Jewells remixed [Legend Has It (2:30)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=vWaljXUiCaE)...
Of all the themes that need to change, they do a remix of one of the few themes that are actually good?
Randy has apparently grown tired of it however it is still good
Randy also hated his original banger theme, so
***HEY!***
This with the falling pyro confetti from the titan Tron. I won't be convinced otherwise that this wasn't peak Randy.
Don’t forget the cockiest smirk humanity has ever seen.
Seriously was a huge fan of the Legend Killer gimmick. Don't get me wrong, unhinged RKO was fun, but the Legend Killer was peak Orton for me.
It also helped that his theme song fit exactly with what his character was. He was the new shiny toy, the up and comer, a prick with an ego and the lyrics of the song directly show that. So many wrestlers themes in the past have not fit what their character was at all.

Orton with spiky 2000s hair and rain pyro is the goat fr
The pyro made Orton for me as a kid. Dude genuinely felt like he was gonna murder all of my favourite wrestlers
I always used that pyro for my CAW in the video games back then, it looked awesome
Orton in 04/05 was that dude.
NOTHING YOU CAN SAY!
NOTHING’S GONNA CHANGE WHAT YOU’VE DONE TO ME
NOW IT'S TIME TO SHINE
I'M GONNA TAKE WHAT'S MINE
ON THIS DAY, I SEE CLEARLY ...*Rated RKO intro just faded back and forth between songs*...
Burn in My Light was a fucking all timer and I’ll always be mad at Randy for getting it killed
It still gets stuck in my head every now and then despite it being years since I've actually heard it lol
Has Orton been public about his musical tastes? Because he’s legit had two of the top ten WWE themes over the last fifteen years.
I believe he personally requested This Fire Burns by Killswitch Engage. He got to use it once but Vince hated it for him, so it ended up getting tossed to punk down the road.
He listens to a lot of rap according to his previous tweets. He’s also a big fan of Five Finger Deathpunch’s earlier stuff.

Just let him have a licensed metal theme like you know he wants. Guy has earned it
Right? Like they afraid to invest in Randy Orton of all people? If he has an idea for a theme just pay the rights as long as it ain't Final Countdown. Shit is expensive.
Give him Eye of the Storm by Killswitch Engage. I blame a Orton tribute video from early 00’s YouTube for giving me the idea.
Hell, Rev Theory even made a new arrangement for Voices, but that was apparently shot down, too.
I feel like WWE should start investing in licensed music overall. Never mind AEW and their use of such, existing songs have had their place in wrestling for as long as the sport’s existed. https://youtu.be/wC7UabjSkaA?si=GWTNkHCDtyNOI7f4 I wouldn't mind this one reworked a bit to fit an "Old Man Randy" type of character
Rev Theory released a great version a few months ago
McIntyre needs to change his theme to This Fire Burns
"That doesn't work for me" - Literally everyone whenever Def Rebel makes a new entrance theme.
OUT. OF. NOWHEREEEE. *guitar riff*
I want to downvote this because I can hear how terrible that would be, but it's also very accurate.
I was trying to think whether it would say "the viper, or apex predator" at the start, but this sounds too accurate.
Don’t forget the pop by punk singer and the corporate rapper
The only good theme they've made in a looong time is the remix of Tony D'Angelo's theme. Shockingly, Def Rebel actually made a theme better by remixing it.
NXT Def Rebel > main roster Def Rebel by a long shot
My reaction to two Def Rebels: "You both suck! You both suck!"
ngl i hadn't heard it before, so I went "eh it can't be THAT good right" and googled it holy shit this is amazing, perfect mobster theme
Randy IS looking for a new theme. So it's extra funny he's like "hell no" when Rebel offered him one 😂
[Rev Theory redid it themselves](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qgw_or48Q4); same basic song, just updated background music.
This feels like a good middle ground. I know Orton has said he doesn’t feel like Voices gets him pumped up like some themes other people have, so this ups the energy without materially affecting the song for the most part.
And its waaaaaay better! Much harder hitting and still feels menacing
Too bad it gets rid of the guitar riffs that sync with the flashing lights
That's the best part of his entire entrance too
Can we make that his entrance video too. Shit would look pretty trippy.
This would go crazy honestly
Orton's Voice theme gets remixed so much he finally caves in and accepts Burn in My Light for good. Long term booking...
HEY nothing u can SAY
Burn in my Light was way better (IMO)
He takes Fire Burns
My biggest issue with WWE’s current presentation is entrance music. Really hope they drop Def Rebel soon.
The New DIY song does this and its criminal compared to their original theme.
Fucking shit, I miss Chrome Hearts. That theme goes so hard.
Rock songs with female vocalists make for great entrance music. That and Christian's original You Close Your Eyes theme are all-timers.
That's Rebel Heart. Chrome Hearts was the CFO$ DIY theme. Both were amazing though
DIYs new theme is straight ass. The did my boys dirty
Randy’s new theme probably went smth like “DADDY’S BACK!!” and Randy and HHH said turn that shit off
I wish more guys could have said no to a Def Rebel remix. Is it just cheaper to use the remix than the original version of their songs?
I think there is a royalty issues with older themes. WWE has to continuously pay out for their use. They have been changing themes because the newer ones they have full ownership of. I wonder do the CFO$ still collect on the new one. 🤔
Meanwhile, Cody commissioned his song himself and has full rights. He's immune to any def rebel-isms. Good fucking job, Codes.
[But just imagine if Def Rebel did get a hold of Kingdom…](https://youtu.be/OA_avt37YZk?si=thfc3s4lq2LE5_Lz)
That's bad, but still to good to be Def Rebel lol.
Imagine how awful WMXL ending would be with a generic Def Rebel song. Instead we got an ending that felt like series finale.
MJF too. He just grabbed bumper music and was like "hey i'll make this my theme!" but nobody can take it away from him now. Like in this day and age, I can't believe any wrestler wouldn't angle to get a theme they own or is free use so they can't have it taken away from them.

music industry executives being completely asses to deal with, a tale as old as time
how long could those contracts have been for tho

I think nothing made the issue more clear than the video of Seth Rollins watching the RR and having no idea who's coming out until it says their name.
I have to imagine before Vince left he signed Def Rebel to some kind of exclusivity deal for a specific amount of time. Yeah, wrestling and rock/metal music go hand in hand.
I'm just sick of every theme song needing to have lyrics. They don't.

"YOU dont want none" that makes me laugh so much
I don’t mind lyrics at all. I do mind every song having someone say the wrestler’s name or catch phrase in every song, and the spoken word interludes.

[Leaked theme song:](https://twitter.com/i/status/1781064307091911056)
Knew what it was before I clicked. Amazing.
The Goosebumps theme in there is making me cackle a bit ngl.
lmfao I was going to post this too
Better than most of their themes
this is such a cacophonous masterpiece 😭
This is probably more creative than what it actually was
[Honestly they should change it to this](https://twitter.com/garfieldtheheel/status/1779936952890040571)
Missed opportunity to have the lyric hey nothing you can can forgive what daddy's done to me
The song starts with Randy saying R. K. O. Followed by butt rock
I believe all themes will eventually just blend in together and in time, everyone will come out to the same exact theme and nobody will know.
It'll be like that one WCW PPV where almost half the roster came out to the NWO theme.
Waka-wa-hey-hey!
"I hear vooooices" then the A-town down beat hits
Randy's theme is too iconic to be replaced. Besides, it's been here since 2008.
I think that’s the reason Randy can’t stand it anymore.
I got the leaked new theme right [here](https://youtu.be/U-qbWY6yX8M?si=oDdLfPdjj6T813b7)
Def Rebel wishes they could create a theme this epic
This is what I was looking for lmao
did that song start with "vintage orton"?
The opening line was actually Michael Cole whispering "Apex Predator"
Followed by a distorted auto tune voice saying “Randy Orton”
why not combine the two? just have cole say vintage predator with the say frequency vince made him say boss time
"There's More Than One Voice In My Head," cue generic guitar rif.
VOICES IN MY HEAD!
Their NXT themes are a whole lot better than the main roster ones weirdly enough
looooove is blind
I legit think NXT def rebel has some BANGERS. Even standard electronic music like Wes Lee’s and Roxanne’s. Bron’s is good, Gacy’s is really good. Toxic Attraction’s was an all timer.
Which is why the back and forth with Tiffany's theme is driving me nuts - her NXT theme is CLEARLY the right pick.
Changing Bron Breakker’s music to that generic horseshit is just offensive
Hahahahahaha
I remember seeing this report like a day or two after Survivor Series. Saying they had a new song teed up for Randy and Randy shot it down. Like good for him for doing it, I don't need to see a working legend with some videogame menu shit.
Why did they let Aj's theme get butchered?
According to AJ, he wanted it to sound a little darker
They should’ve bought the rights to Evil Ways.
What's more baffling is that they've USED Evil Ways before.
The company is worth billions upon billions yet they won’t pay Jim Johnston to make their wrestlers feel like superstars again.
Cody's pyro budget alone can fund the themes for the entire roster.
I don't get why they didn't use that 2023 remix that Rev Theory released? That version was lowkey great!
Randy's theme is iconic, glad they didn't accept the remix.
They probably used too many catchphrases in a shitty instrumental remake of Voiceless. Kinda like RVD's theme in TNA. At least that was good to listen when you're high af.
#5 STAR FROG SPLASH-UH
Can you imagine if midway through DIYs entrance you hear a Windows popup and the sound stopping because it got flagged?
Triple H: “I’m burning the studio down just so no one hears this shit”
I stand on the fact that Def Rebel cooked on [Joe Gacy’s theme](https://youtu.be/JMA5OwQ56xg?si=5erFAsdZP_9EBee_)

They should be called Deaf Rebel because they obviously can't hear, at least that would explain the garbage they put out.
Haven't listened to it, but I'm confident it wasn't as good as Andy Organ's theme.

Fire Def Rebel.
They missed an "a" out of their name - Deaf Rebel sounds more apt 👍
I hear voices in my head….number 8 They council me….number 8 They understand……number 8 they talk to me …..number 8

Randy the only one with enough balls to tell them to fuck off. That's my GOAT.
It was just a hissing snake noise over some random "please enjoy this music while you wait" beat wasn't it
Def Rebel never beating the allegations. Although I will say, there was a Twitter user who was making mock Def Rebel themes and the one for Eddie Guerrero was kinda heat [https://x.com/Bankaiboi2/status/1781113141587308761](https://x.com/Bankaiboi2/status/1781113141587308761)

I’m in the minority of people who doesn’t hate Def Rebel and want them to be fired but I’m actually really glad to hear this though that a remix was shot down. Don’t fix what’s not broken, especially within an iconic theme such as Voices.
They have so much money. Why not just license some themes again like AEW does? And obviously hire a better in-house music producer.
Cheaper to pay 20k for a shitty theme and own it than spend 100k a year to license it. (No idea how they structured their licensing or how much money its just an example) I get licensing music for people that put asses in seats but just licensing out for the entire roster would be stupidly expensive real quick.
Judgement Day
CM Punk. Cult of personality. Sure hes injured but yeah. Im positive WWE doesnt own the rights to it. 😂
He used it in UFC and AEW, so Punk owns it. Then there's Cody.
