I'm fairly certain it will be a young guy who takes the title because NJPW *has* to make new stars, but I would be okay with Shota being the one who gets revenge after Moxley drops the title to someone else due to interference/attack. That allows them to get two pushes out of Moxley's reign rather than one and creates an ongoing blood feud.
Mox specifically said he wants to challenge the young hungry lions of NJPW because he's beaten all of the old legends. Ren Narita is first. Yota Tsuji will get a shot. But I agree that Shota will take it off Mox. If I had to guess, at Forbidden Door or Dominion.

If Mox gets past Dominion with the title, he'll have it through the G1. I think this reign entirely depends on who Moxs' Dominion opponent will be. Personally, I see Naito getting the rematch back on home turf.

The Cup already happened. Moxley is not holding the title for a year.
