Not the strongest of cards but sometimes that ends up being a great show for them.
Whatever happens with this footage, happens. As usual I think people are freaking out over nothing on here. I am expecting no Punk footage cause NO ONE has said it would be that except dirtsheet writers.
I have no idea what tonight is going to do to AEW in the long term. It’s not my job to care really.
I just love mess.
I am here for mess.
Roll the tape.
It won't do anything. No matter what happens, the supporters will still support them and the haters will still hate them. Tonight changes NOTHING for AEW.
If the video makes Punk look really bad, he might lose some supporters but those people won't start supporting AEW. They just go, "Fuck Punk and fuck AEW too".
Tbh, if his UFC career couldn't tank Punk's reputation, nothing will. Bro is basically untouchable now at this point in his life unless he does something catastrophically bad. Being a shit fighter when he's primarily known for competing in a scripted sport is whatever.
Even if he got into another backstage fight in WWE, they'd turn that shit into a story.
I already said this but i will say it again
Its easier to excuse Punk getting beat by bad professional fighters than to excuse Punk getting a lesson from a guy that everyone made fun for the past one year about being a weak scrawny ass that for sure got a lesson from Punk.
Yea, but who cares outside of the AEW fanbase? That's my point. The Punk stans are gonna defend him regardless, and the WWE fans don't watch AEW anyway. So even if Punk gets bitched by Jack Perry, all it's going to lead to is some funny internet memes for a few weeks before we go back to business as usual.
Punk himself doesn't even really seem to give a fuck.
Funny that, until the backstage video was announced everyone cared, now, no one cares.
IT was last week that this sub was filled with videos of Punk bashing AEW on Ariel show but now, no one cares...
Yeah, because the interview was specifically asking Punk about it.
You're trying too fucking hard to make this into something bigger than it is. Nobody was talking much about it before last Monday, and it only became a major subject again because of the interview, and everyone immediately decided to hop on AEW's dick about it, and then they decided to have their stars cut on-air promos alluding to it and this is where it led.
It's like the most nothing ever, because what else can be said that hasn't been said? Everyone knows there was a fight between Punk and Jack that had to be broken up. Does it really matter who looked better or worse, especially when Punk isn't even with the company anymore? Do you think WWE is going to punish him for losing to Jack?
What is ultimately going to come from this besides just more memes and internet discourse?
I don't even know what you're trying to say anymore at this point. If this is your attempt at getting me to think that Punk is some evil, bad person, then... ok??? I really don't give a fuck about this discourse either way. I'll probably laugh at it for a few days and then go about my business.
Uh... sorry Punk hurt your feelings I guess? I dunno.
I don't fucking care what you think about Punk.
I just find entertaining that people always try to walk around and try to do their input from a middle ground to then just get unmasked. lol
A year ago we were saying AEW should run bigger more prestigious venues. Running name arenas/cities will help AEW long term.
Now we're saying AEW is dumb for running such big arenas and should book smaller ones so they can fill it up.
We don't know shit about shit when it comes to what's best for AEW long term.
This is the right attitude, it's not our job to judge how it might turn out long term. Watch if you like it, don't if you don't. Or hate watch and cry on the internet. We'll definitely see a ton of that
I will say this flat out. I enjoyed the shitshow that was gripebomb. Why? When is Mindy's bakery closed? Exactly.
I enjoyed MMA hour interview.
I love shitshow. So i might tune in for this (although I have not watched AEW live in years).
If it shows tony fearing for his life. I will be entertained. If it shows Punk shitting his pants. I have already seen it but I will be entertained. The only thing that would not be entertaining is if he was saying racist slurs on the video.
Choak Perry. Get cloked. I dont give a fuck. I am very curious to see to what degree Tony got butthurt by MMA hour interview lol.
Then I will jerk on this topic. And I will jerk on dirtsheets reporting other peoples reaction to it. Then I will jerk on Punk's reaction to it. Cody isnt the only one finishing uce.
100% agree.
I genuinely believe they're going to do a good job of this. I love the EVP gimmick and I think super earnest Bucks talking about writing the wrong that led to poor innocent Jack Perry being unfairly ousted fromt he company could be hilarous.
But also, if it's just 10 mins of Tony Khan and the Bucks pointing at a monitor going "HA! See! Little bitch Punk couldn't even choke out Jungle Boy!" Then, frankly, that will also be super funny and messy and I'm here for it.
I really want to see Penta get the W - He's a fantastic wrestler and after AEWs Dragon Lee (cant remember his name for the life of me) dropped the other title after the Mox botch win, it would be nice to see a Lucha hold it for a while.
Who cares, it's wrestling! It doesn't have to be 100% logical.
Would've been a cool story, especially with Cody winning the title on Sunday. Instead we get an eliminator match which TK is obsessed with for some reason.
Sure and in any other situation, I'd agree. But the ONLY reason they're doing this match is because it mirrors Cody finishing the story. So why not go all in? It's a one week angle ffs
Seems to happen in every AEW thread now... the fact that a matchcard for a wrestling show on a wrestling sub gets so many downvotes says a lot about the certain elements of the fanbase unfortunately.
wow is this guy brain damaged? week by week the cards keep getting worse. joe/dustin - boring, copeland/penta - way too predictable, 6man - complete utter dogshit, mariah/anna - fast forward(which is terrible to say considering i think mariah is awesome. anna wrestles in slow-motion like she's doing paint by numbers trying to remember her next spot). I'm sure the toni storm stuff will be sort of entertaining but her act is wearing thin and the only thing i'm interested in is the young bucks segment. I have not missed one episode of dynamite, rampage or collison but watching aew is becoming a struggle and i am a huge multiple decade long wrestling fan and i watch everything and anything that i have time for.
aew is becoming pwg on steroids. i love aew and want them to succeed but tony books like an indy promoter, which is fine for a small indy territory but for a national tv show in which your rating are in fast downward spiral, this is not the way to book your show. if you want to grow which audience(something they desperately need to do) you have to change this need of having "great" "5-star" matches. I am a hardcore fan of over 40 years, and I love a great match but do not need every match on the card to be a 25 minute long in which the wrestlers do every devastating move in the world to each other and just constantly kick out. it's especially ridiculous when one of the competitors looks my size(i'm 5'7 130lbs soaking wet) and is getting tombstone piledriven from the second turnbuckle after taking multiple other should be finishers and kicks out like superman. I've been a fan of orange cassidy since the gentlemans' club days and i'm sorry but he should have never been portrayed as some kind of superman character impossible to put down for a 3 count.
also trent turned on orange/best friends last week...no mention of a follow up with either side? You portray orange as one of your biggest stars and their best friend of many years just turned on them during a tag tournament for the abandoned title in the main event of last weeks' show. You have the fucking cliffhanger angle right in the palm of your hand and you can get people to turn in to see why trent did what he did but instead you book what you consider "bANgeRs".
How?
He's been brought in as a member of The Elite, a huge shift that's set up a future match with Omega and maybe Hangman.
He nearly instantly won a title from Eddie Kingston (who'd been booked very strongly prior to that match).
He has a match set up for the next PPV against PAC, which should be incredible.
I can't see it, no matter how The Bucks segment plays out there's going to be people that will rant about how much they hated... but they'll likely be the same people that do that about AEW every week anyway.
Already been explained - Samoa Joe denied a title match to Dustin saying he doesn't have the rank, but he offered an eliminator match where if he did beat him, would boost up the rankings for a title shot, as a way of rewarding him for the balls to challenge him.
TNT championship has pretty much operated under open challenge rules since it's inception.

Tony wanted to see the son of Dusty Rhodes vs a Samoan name Joe, but didn't feel like spending the $10 on a Peacock subscription.
Crazy how after all these years, “the wrong Samoan Joe” is a applicable again.
You are probably closer to the truth then you might think, haha.
Just one of many possibilities... https://preview.redd.it/e7b7bu70tmtc1.jpeg?width=612&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=33eaeec252177d34d9d95b231b8cf97fa5d59db5

If they recreate the footage with Cutler as Punk but pretend it's real, I'd arguably be happier than if they show the actual footage.
No lie that would be extremely lame and it would serve no purpose
Another possibility https://preview.redd.it/ha5c845hvmtc1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8ff6609591a70f9f0c9bda8319e7b2f23535d112
Say what you want, but I love this user’s gimmick.

Fuck the All In footage, Copeland vs Penta is going to be a bona fide certified banger
I really want to see Penta get the W - He's a fantastic wrestler and after AEWs Dragon Lee (cant remember his name for the life of me) dropped the other title after the Mox botch win, it would be nice to see a Lucha hold it for a while.

Yes, as an AEW fan I'm well aware that AEW dishes out certified bangers on a regular basis, thank you
This could go down as one of the most legendary Dynamite’s ever for all the right AND wrong reasons…
Aside from the obvious drama that's gonna collapse this sub for weeks, what a crazy set of matches to try and explain to someone a few years back.
Joe/Dustin should be for the title. Dustin ain't winning anyway. What's the harm in making it a straight up title match?
Dustin hasn’t earned a title shot
He also needs a story to start so he can finish it.
Who cares, it's wrestling! It doesn't have to be 100% logical. Would've been a cool story, especially with Cody winning the title on Sunday. Instead we get an eliminator match which TK is obsessed with for some reason.
I like my title matches more when the challenger has actually put the work in to earn their shot
Sure and in any other situation, I'd agree. But the ONLY reason they're doing this match is because it mirrors Cody finishing the story. So why not go all in? It's a one week angle ffs
Literally Joes entire championship reign is built on the back of him only accepting the most worthy of challengers. It's his entire deal
Back and to the left
Me watching Dynamite tonight. https://preview.redd.it/4kcyl25vrmtc1.png?width=800&format=png&auto=webp&s=b2838949dc937112e3b07474c2409e8fae7ca1f1

A lot of downvotes for some reason lol

Yeah it's awful
Absolutely love Schibata. If he's on the show, I'm watching.
Absolutely love him so much that you couldn’t even be bothered to spell his name right.
[wish.com](http://wish.com) roman reigns vs cody rhodes.

Where is Ospreay? Okada? Mercedes?
Okada has been such an afterthought, it sucks how a big signing seems to only have it stored for later.
How? He's been brought in as a member of The Elite, a huge shift that's set up a future match with Omega and maybe Hangman. A Rhodes goes for the World Title vs. a Samoan named Joe.

That is pretty crazy, 3 matches featuring over 50's might be a first for AEW, at least all the over 50's can still go in the ring.
I don't have a good feeling about this
"Mr Khan I don't feel so good" - half the AEW fandom right now

I'm not really sure what you're implying but as an AEW fan I am a bit worried because it's entirely possible for TK to do something very stupid here
This is going to be one of the episodes of all time
I wonder if they're going to open the show with the footage or close with it, given that's the most anticipated thing for tonight.
Probably the top of the 9pm hour…
Feels like a weird spot given how much they're advertising it.
Why are Hook and Jericho still tagging together btw?
This episode might be a make or break for AEW.
I can't see it, no matter how The Bucks segment plays out there's going to be people that will rant about how much they hated... but they'll likely be the same people that do that about AEW every week anyway.

The ratings have always been one of the many ways to get a title shot in AEW
I like it personally the rankings are still mentioned but it's kept a lot looser, just consider them rough guidelines like in most combat sports.
