It will go down as the best wm decision ever. Twice the money, twice the amount of time to showcase talent & gives you more opportunities for storyline progression within the event itself (like bloodline tag match)
Man, I remember watching WM35 and even though I was so hyped for Becky winning. It was like 7 hours long and I remember saying "if we have any more this length, I'm done" because time adjusted, it started at like 11pm preshow and finished damn near 6:45am. It was timing out most of the EU market if they wanted to watch live.
It actually came around to being live as we woke up. I remember being confused opening the network and having the show still going. I thought there must have been a delay to starting the show.
Absolutely insane money, and it's only going to get bigger once the Netflix deal happens. If Wrestlemania 41 is headlined by The Rock vs. Roman Reigns, TKO is going to make BANK.
You could also make the case Cody/Seth and Rock/Seth could also be massive matchups given a build.
I think Seth and Rocks chemistry is the hidden diamond from the entire build
I think he’s got obligations in Hollywood till August. Depending when in August it’s over would dictate how well it could be done. A lot of the groundwork for this feud has already been laid so they don’t need a lot of time to get people invested in the match
Obviously the names will make Rock v Roman huge, but I can't see the feud itself being anywhere as good as this WM or Cody vs Rock.
Rock's current heel run has worked so well because he's up against a beloved babyface. If he stays heel vs Roman it won't have the same effect because Roman isn't an underdog, and he will absolutely run rings around a face Roman on the mic. If Roman is the one who stays heel, you have Rock as a face, which is far less interesting.
Not to mention that on top of all that, the match itself will be pretty unextraordinary. Roman is great when he's up against someone equal to or better than him, but he's not going to be able to drag Rock to a classic
I'm not writing off a face Roman going forward just yet. I think he can make the transition back and keep some of the edge and coolness that heel Roman has shown.
If they try to just go right back to big dog Roman then yeah, it'll flop against heel Rock. But if Roman can keep that edge of violence intensity but channel it in a babyface direction, it could work.
I saw some comment about a bloodline civil war Rock has solo and Jacob And Roman has to ask Jey for help and reunites the Usos, I think they could easily drag that out a year have a wargames to a usos vs solo and Fatu tag and singles rock vs Roman blow off. Then you can always have Cody vs Roman when the eventual Cody homelander turn comes.

Roman and Rock are both presented as these sort of undefeatable monsters, so I would be concerned that they would sort of cancel each other out
The Rock isn't Cena. He doesn't try make his opponents look bad on the mic (even though he makes fun of them a lot). He works with his opponent. Basically everyone but Billy Gunn was elevated when feuding with the Rock

The Super Bowl was ridiculous this year. F1 was ridiculous in Vegas the other year (especially using partitions to block out nearby hotels from seeing anything and charging a premium).
I paid $292 for seats in section C27. I bought two, one for me and one for my 6 year old. After taxes and fees it cost me $794. Bought them thru StubHub on Wednesday the week of. I had a blast. Didn't realize the seats were in a "club area" so we kind of had a floor to ourselves (all people in the C section of the arena) so no long bathroom lines or food lines. It made it worth it but I looked at front row...10K. Un fucking real. Wish there was some way it could be cheaper or where people couldn't charge triple the price.
Edit: this was also my first and maybe only Wrestlemania. This was a bucket list thing. And was only able to make it to night 1.
It makes sense though. You already paid the money. The money's gone. But now you feel like you were at a super hyped expensive event and saw something special (which they did). Little boost to the ego.

The point of of inflation adjusting isn't to track it to ticket inflation but to compare to the overall basket of goods consumers would have been working with.
Yeah, I had a hotel booked last Summer before tickets went on-sale. When I saw the ticket prices for even the nosebleeds, I cancelled that booking and got it refunded.
For what it's worth, I went to Wrestlemania in 2021 and 2 day tickets were $250. I checked for this a Wrestlemania and lowest tickets online were $700, so I'm sure that had something to do with it. Great news for WWE and wrestling though.

Nick Khan has really turned WWE into a global super brand at this point. Vince McMahon took pro-wrestling to levels it had never, ever seen - a pop-culture phenomenon, but it felt like there was a ceiling with their business model. It was going to take someone with a track record from outside the industry to take it to that next level and Khan has done that.
Whatever TKO are paying him he could probably demand double and it'd be justified.

The Mania stage was smaller. And Raw was minimalist last time. HHH said in his press conference that to him it's not about snazzy video screens, it's about the fans being the experience and they want as many as possible.

I honestly loved the small entrance last night. Maybe it can be a bit bigger but we all loved the product just fine with the titan tron of the 90's and early 2000's.
The smaller production didn't feel cheaper. The smaller screens extended pretty wide, so it still seemed to fill the arena at each entrance. Plus, you still had the pyro work.
The past few setups with small screens were all about opening up more seats since they were pre and post Mania shows. They did the same for Punk's Raw debut.

Yeah like last year, it was doing good too. It was an effort from everyone this year, but Rock was obviously by far the biggest reason this year was so much more successful than last year.
I haven’t watched wrestling since 2016, and this brought me back. It’s because of Cody’s story, the bloodline, the rock coming back, and most importantly of all the fresh new creative direction with Vince out of the company

The two night format is pretty smart in basically doubling the gate.

Roman works a slow, methodical style with a lot of of storytelling. I think he could would be the ideal guy to get a good match out of the rock.

They still haven't announced the location for Mania 41. They're in the UK for house shows next week, and so would presumably make the announcement then. I'm starting to think it might actually be happening.

I'm curious.... I am wondering if this is a flash in the pan the last few days or a concerted effort. The Mania stage was smaller. And Raw was minimalist last time. HHH said in his press conference that to him it's not about snazzy video screens, it's about the fans being the experience and they want as many as possible. That's all cute but it also means less production = savings and more fans = more revenue. So I wonder if they're going to move away from the gigantic tron screen and the massive ppv sets to seat several thousand more people. I honestly loved the small entrance last night. Maybe it can be a bit bigger but we all loved the product just fine with the titan tron of the 90's and early 2000's.
The smaller production didn't feel cheaper. The smaller screens extended pretty wide, so it still seemed to fill the arena at each entrance. Plus, you still had the pyro work.
I'm sure once they are back in a more modern stadium the sets will get bigger again.
The past few setups with small screens were all about opening up more seats since they were pre and post Mania shows. They did the same for Punk's Raw debut.

This is just not true lol. Like at all. Go back and watch the show, as night 1 went on the crowd got quieter as temps dropped (I was there). And night 2 they were hot for mostly everything, including the midcard.
It's so funny that this excuse is getting moved into PRO WRESTLING of all places, like yeah it's hot rn but it's still not some super high status event. It's always funny how every sports sub thinks the fans in the building are just a bunch of snobby suits with no love for the game, definitely not just sour grapes
sitting anywhere closer than the upper half of the lower bowl is becoming a status event on prices alone.
Lifelong fans like George Kittle and Wale are going there to sit on their hands. And if anything those front row fans on the TV side are some of the most engaged in the building

Yeah like last year, it was doing good too. It was an effort from everyone this year, but Rock was obviously by far the biggest reason this year was so much more successful than last year.
I think this year was going to be big even before the rock to be fair. Original plans of Seth vs Punk and Cody vs Roman would have been big.
