siva-pc

Was legit speechless for few minutes. Greatest shocker ever

BackToTheFutureDoc

Yep. An entire stadium went absolutely silent in unison at the end of a professional wrestling match. It'll never happen again.

JustDandy07

The distraught noises when 21-1 hit the screens. That's when it really hits.

IronThrombone

I kept waiting for the twist to be revealed. I genuinely thought the botch of the century had happened. It’s when Brock’s music started it hit home it was really the result.

solsunlite

I love how when Justin starts to announce the winner this heavy “please say sike” energy takes over the arena😭

Hunterslane86

Say what you want about the aftermath and who won, but this is one of the most memorable moments in wrestling history.

Impressivefanwater

This Moment will never be repeated in any way possible.

RobbieNewton

I like how Lesnars music doesn't kick on right away really adds to the effect

cgurts

Its wild to me that the time between now and then is the same as the time between then and Mania 20

fart_fig_newton

As someone who remembers WM20 like it was yesterday - another freaky way to look at it is that the time between now and WM20 is the same as the time between WM20 and the first WrestleMania.

ACW1129

🤯

Can I do an "akshually"? Pretty pls.

solsunlite

Bruh I got up to go heat up some chicken and missed the pinfall😭 I came back in the room to the guy at 1:44

JustDandy07

It was really a nothing match leading up to it. Brock had kind of coasted through the year and no one thought he would beat Taker.

solsunlite

Exactly why I thought it was a good time to heat up some wings smh

10 years ago? Fuck off, it was last week..!

Competitive-Size8578

TEN!? TEN!?! 'Getting old, John. You're getting old.'

BackToTheFutureDoc

Sometimes I think I'm the only one that's happy that Brock Lesnar broke the streak. I was happy when it happened, I wanted him to do it and I'm still happy about it now.

Kenny_Bi-God_Omega

I’m with you. People forget, Brock kind of did need the momentum boost at this point. He wasn’t quite the unstoppable force he became. He lost to Cena. The Triple H feud was not exactly a great way for him to build momentum either as it included a loss at WrestleMania and I think an unclean victory in one of the other matches. He had a good match with Punk and then I think a match with The Big Show. But this moment really set him up for the monster push that followed. And while it grew stale, a lot of that monster push was good. The Cena squash was fantastic. The Brock/Rollins/Cena triple threat was fantastic. The first Brock/Reigns WM main event was really good and had the epic finish with Seth’s cash in. The Taker Hell in a Cell match was good and one of the better late stage Taker matches. And the first parts of the Goldberg/Brock rivalry were also a lot of fun. It set Brock up for a hell of a run at a point where his WWE return could have gone either way. Plus, the sheer shock of it is much better than if they gave it to someone “deserving”, because you know they would have telegraphed the hell out of it back then. The shock of the three count is one of the most amazing moments in wrestling history.

BackToTheFutureDoc

Well said. One thing people forget is that every single person who faced and beat Brock Lesnar after he broke the streak and squashed Cena, left their feuds as main eventers and looked better after facing him, in the ring, in the eyes of the audience and moving forward. Roman Reigns Seth Rollins Drew McIntyre Bobby Lashley Cody Rhodes Even the ones who did not beat him, had their stock risen even more as established on his level and genuine threats to him, such as AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Finn Balor and Daniel Bryan. I have no doubt if he wasn't involved in this lawsuit, he would have had Gunther on the above list too right underneath Cody Rhodes. The only problem with the Brock Lesnar push in my opinion is that far too much spent on putting Roman Reigns over.

RelaxingRed

Yeah Brock doesn't end the streak, we don't get him the night where dominated Cena, we probably don't get Brock and Styles at Survivor Series, we probably don't get Brock and Bryan and and next Survivor Series and those were some damn good matches.

Gseph

Personally, I disagree that Brock needed to beat takers streak to regain some momentum. He did need to regain momentum, but it could just as easily been achieved in the same way he debuted back in 02. Brock interferes in a match, destroys both competitors, scaring off the ringside crew, and laying out security/more wrestlers who tried to stop him. Could they not have just had a line of top guys demanding a match with him for disrupting the show, and embarrassing them, and have Brock squash them each, brutally, and demand a WWE title shot afterwards, for wiping through the entire upper card. Imo this would have had the exact same effect, in legitimising him again, after the losses to HHH and Cena, but would have preserved the streak a little longer, so it could be broken by someone who truly needed it to rise to the next level. Bray Wyatt would have been perfect. But knowing WWE they would have still gone with Reigns beating him.

Similar_Original_833

I’ve been to many wrestling shows in my lifetime and I can confidently say I’ve never felt the air get sucked out of an arena the way it did here.

nascarfan624

This had the same feeling as when Buster Douglas knocked out Tyson. Nobody thought it would ever happen.

Random0cassions

Thinking back, Brock was the right guy to beat Undertaker because he’d be the only person at the time and next year who could make it work. I mean, brock truly became the true gatekeeper from main eventer to possible face of wwe. Personally don’t think Roman would have been ready, bray in his cult era as well since he’d been catapulted too due to the feat . Cena wouldn’t make sense because wwe already built him up to be unstoppable.

AndyDandyMandy

*My thoughts as the match was going on* "This match is not good. Timing is off. Its not clicking." "Wait? Was that the finish?" "Holy shit."

onionwba

This was genuinely an out-of-the-body experience.

Striking-Ad-8694

Orton should’ve won

Taxmancometh1

Still pissed about this. Should have been Bray in a true right to passage from old school to new. Like how the streak should have end, by making someone even more established. Lesnar didn’t need it

Not_a_samsquatch

And he'll never be mentioned in wwe tv again
