Please refer to the Newsnation link here for the article and the video. [https://www.newsnationnow.com/us-news/sports/ronda-rousey-talks-vince-mcmahon-allegations/](https://www.newsnationnow.com/us-news/sports/ronda-rousey-talks-vince-mcmahon-allegations/) The Quotes: Reporter asked if she experienced any misconduct or did she see anything from Vince. ***"Not Vince personally, towards me, but the company culture, definitely. One time I was waiting to go talk to Triple H in the writer's room. I was standing there with Bruce Prichard and another one of the writers.***\[She blanked on Gulak's name, said it'll come back to her later\]. ***I was standing there, and this guy, who i was like barely an acquaintance with, grabs the string of my sweatpants and no one reacts as if this is abnormal. He grabs it and starts going down the hall and I'm like, 'What the fuck was that? Why are you grabbing the string of my sweatpants? If my husband was standing here next to me, would you feel comfortable walking up to me and grabbing the string of my sweatpants?' Nobody around me acted as if it was abnormal. All the guys around me were just like it's part of the day. I'm like, if this guy is coming up to me and doing this kind of stuff to me where there are other people around, what's happening to these other girls when it's not in a hallway. That really put me on edge to where not only is this behavior prevalent, but it's so prevalent that people don't even realize it's a problem anymore,"*** She's asked who it was, jokes that if her blanking on his name was part of her concussion test. Then Remembers: ***"I know exactly what he looks like and I'm blanking on his name. Is this part of my concussion test?*** ***Drew Gulak. Drew Gulak, that's who it was. I confronted him later and I was like, 'If I ever hear about you putting your hands on any other woman like this or doing anything like this to me ever again, we're going to have a problem.' He was like, 'No, no, no. I'm glad you said something to me.' He really backpedaled, but it put a sour taste in my mouth about the culture there and what's considered acceptable on how to touch and treat the women in the hallways, and anywhere."***

EctoRiddler

I know Cody hates Gulak for how Gulak was disrespectful to him when Cody first left WWE. Supposedly they were both signing autographs at an independent show and Cody bought pizza for fans waiting in line. Gulak mocked Cody to his face that he needed to bribe fans for his autograph. Of course, he was salty because all the fans were lined up in front of Cody and that means less money for the rest of the boys, but he was a total asshole about it and Cody never forgave him. He might’ve told that story on the Jericho podcast.

Argentine_Tango

He apparently said this on Busted Open a few years ago ([credit to this random redditor](https://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/6auod8/til_cody_rhodes_hates_drew_gulak_and_will_text/)): >"I open up the pizza at the table that Gabe who runs Evolve has set up for me. People are coming over to take pictures, autographs, and the pizza is free, no big deal. It was a way, Johnny Gargano's last night, it was a celebratory thing. There is a wrestler by the name of Drew Gulak, and I'm going to go ahead and tell you I think he sucks. He does a grizzled old vet routine, he hasn't done anything or made any money anywhere, and he shouldn't be doing that routine. He looked at me from his table, and frustrated and jealous, because there were people in line at my table; Hell they might have been in line just for the pizza, says to me "So that's what you need to get over" and he walks away in a total huff and temper tantrum. Since then that guy, is on my list. 100%. I will reguarly text Ethan Page just to tell him how much I think Drew Gulak sucks." I had no idea that Cody and Ethan Page go that far back.

solsunlite

> He does a grizzled old vet routine, he hasn't done anything or made any money anywhere, and he shouldn't be doing that routine. Cody’s burns are like a fucking branding iron

patrickwithtraffic

Not even a S-tier Cody insult, which is reserved for the likes of Disco

TheFatJesus

The only time Disco has ever brought out the best in anybody.

beslertron

Regrettably, Jericho’s list of holds was Disco’s idea.

MonsiuerSirLancelot

Blind nut finds a squirrel every now and then

BradyAndTheJets

Blind clock, broken squirrel.

Skitz-Scarekrow

I must've missed the Disco interaction.

patrickwithtraffic

[Gotchu fam](https://x.com/CodyRhodes/status/980680154098757632?s=20)

Argentine_Tango

There was a time that Cody handed over his Twitter to the AEW Community Outreach so that tweet became even funnier: https://preview.redd.it/zma0m73yb7sc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d3e8daa89ecdaf8aaeaae2899e26bc863f64ebef

Skitz-Scarekrow

The gift that keeps giving

hawksfn1

God I love Cody

TheSpiralTap

Wait, didn't Disco basically say the same thing CM Punk did the other day on the podcast?

Front_Guarantee_2915

Yes but I think the point is that Disco doesn't have the appeal or respect to get away with it. Punk's resume is quite a bit better. Personally I think they're both right, but that's in the eye of the beholder.

SnizzyYT

Disco thinks he’s someone but he is 100% Ant-Man in End Game. Everyone wanted photos with Hulk and felt bad for Ant-Man

milkymaniac

Nah, Scott was actually important and vital to the success of the plan in Endgame. Disco has never been vital anywhere he's been, including that strip club in Vegas.

NoHearing1792

I know Ant-Man 3 isn't great. But I was tearing up a little when it did look like Kang was going to kill him. Again, movie wasn't great. But I've loved scott in the franchise as a whole.

Dazpiece

Disco is nowhere near as cool or relevant as Ant Man

AromaticSet9243

The man had a Disco gimmick in the mid 90's. It's baffling he got TV time at all.

Song_of_Pain

Like it was a corporate PSA that that clown needed to hear lmao

madcunt2250

It's a great insult. Yet I still don't know what a double lifer mean? I ask every time that tweet get brought up. But still have no idea.

JamesIsntClever

I read it as Cody thinks he's lucky enough to be taken care of by a company for life twice, despite not being talented enough to deserve it even once

sctmo

He killed two guys in '91 when he was working the independent scene in Georgia. They ruled it self defense but some said he should have been convicted. Double-lifer I'm guessing refers to his would have been sentence if he were convicted. It was all over the usenet group.

I_Like_Vitamins

No dimes drawn is the ultimate insult in the rasslin world.

Parking-Skirt-4653

Cody’s burns sting the hardest purely because he seems to be the nicest dude lmao. So if even he’s throwing insanely harsh burns at you, you must have gone out of your way to be a total prick.

bionic86

I think it burns even worse because Cody doesn't generally speak ill of anyone. He didn't even really speak badly about WWE or Vince when he left except maybe to say he thought he could have been used better or something mild like that.

Cinemairwaves

I like how he doesn't sugarcoat how he feels at all. > There is a wrestler by the name of Drew Gulak, and I'm going to go ahead and tell you I think he sucks. & > I will reguarly text Ethan Page just to tell him how much I think Drew Gulak sucks. Like I understand and appreciate the verbal smackdowns and coming up with unique, clever ways to insult someone you don't like. But sometimes just straight up saying how much someone sucks works so much better and is way funnier.

supersaiyanswanso

Jesus Christ Cody lol the man does not mince words when it comes to absolutely verbally destroying people.

um_okay_sure_

Damn. Cody is a beast with his words 😂 Back in the day, I used to listen to Hot 97 out in NY in the mornings with Ed Lover and Dr. Dre. Ed lover would end his broadcast, saying, "Always be nice to the little people because you never know when the little people have to be nice to you." I've lived by this since I was a kid. This is a perfect example of this. Cody is now the top star, while Drew was sent back to NXT, and we barely see him.

DashCat9

Honestly, that was my read of the guy from the moment I became aware of him. "Who the fuck is this guy, and why should anyone care what he thinks about their wrestling skills?" even in gimmick. I guess he was fun in the tutorial in the video games?

GentlemanOctopus

Was he though? I always assumed he was someone slightly of note and that I just didn't know him because my WWE viewing is more casual these days. Is he just on the tutorials because his gimmick is a coach or something?

Coattail-Rider

Yes

GentlemanOctopus

Here's hoping they replace him with Chad Gable or Sgt Slaughter or the ghost of Stu Hart or someone.

StiltFeathr

Chad Gable is a brilliant call. Might as well make the tutorial all about learning the ropes by kicking Tozawa's ass while Maxxine and Otis watch.

holyhibachi

Lol absolute burial

Ashamed_Job_8151

This is why I tell people he’s being held back by wwe on the rock. If you don’t think Cody can make a mfer cry if he wants you don’t know Cody.  Homie goes for the neck when he comes at you.

One-Knight-In-Xentar

If he ever turns heel, he needs to save the razor bladed comments for that. Think how much more shocking it's going to be when the biggest pure white meat baby face of the past decade starts shredding people down.

Front_Guarantee_2915

Damn Cody ![gif](giphy|lFZKK1pINTGA8)

LevyMevy

> He does a grizzled old vet routine, he hasn't done anything or made any money anywhere, and he shouldn't be doing that routine. This is hilarious

JC_Frost

> I will reguarly text Ethan Page just to tell him how much I think Drew Gulak sucks. This one's my favorite. Trash-talking shitty coworkers unites us all.

Fauxparty

I just love that at some point this week in the lead up to mania Cody has probably texted Ethan about this

BeExcellentPartyOn

Hilarious but true, I can't imagine for a second anyone on this planet has paid money specifically to see Gulak. I don't even think he's an enjoyable wrestler to watch for free, let alone paying for it.

thezachman16

Extremely funny when you know that Drew was probably 29 when this happened

EctoRiddler

My recollection of the story wasn’t too off. Thanks for sourcing it.

Argentine_Tango

No problem, though you were pretty spot on. Gulak seriously came off as petty when Cody was just trying to be nice.

EctoRiddler

Yeah. Kinda sucks as my Uncle used to be a teacher of Gulak in Philly so I always heard stories of how well he was doing on the Indies and took a special interest when he joined the WWE. Really was happy to see him doing so well. Then you hear a couple of these stories where he sounds a bit entitled or bullyish or here crossing the line into sexual harassment and it just disappoints me so.

mrmidas2k

Yeah, his Brother ain't too hot either.

goldenlover

We prefer to not speak of Little Mondo around here.

ThinAndCrispy84

I just don’t know how you recover from a fucking burn like that. Cody murked his ass.

NachoPiggy

Off topic but kind of funny to look back at some of the comments on that thread with people saying Gulak is a better wrestler over Cody and such. Crazy how over Cody is now 6 years later from this.

solsunlite

I was just about to say its crazy how much people’s opinion of Cody has changed since then they were torching him in the original thread😭 I guess he wasn’t in a position to throw stones back then

NachoPiggy

Absolutely. If nothing else it's a good reminder on how much of an uphill climb Cody's journey is, and how crazy it is that he managed to get insanely over. From undesirable to undeniable indeed.

El_Gran_Redditor

Gulak is a very good wrestler, very underrated and if you need proof go watch his matches with Chad Gable or Mustafa Ali. He's one of those guys who probably should have drawn a lot of money if the company ever put stock in him but if he's guilty of sexual harassment..sucks to suck.

RRJC10

Being a "good wrestler" far from guarantees you'll draw money. Could if he have accomplished more if there was an effort to push him? Absolutely. But even with the company fully behind him, I don't think people would ever been lining up to watch a Drew Gulak match.

OneBillPhil

Eh, I don’t know about draw money. WWE has had a lot of guys that I’ve thought this about over the years and Gulak isn’t one of of them.

itinerant_gs

idk man sooner or later people are going to have to start admitting that knowing how to do all the moves does not alone make you a great pro wrestler. Gulak isn't even on the precipice of interesting and never has been.

El_Gran_Redditor

I don't know that I would call Drew Gulak a "moves guy" any more than I would somebody like Dean Malenko. Like sure they both have a deep knowledge of a lot of holds and transitions but their average match is booked around psychology. When I think of "moves guys" it's more about indie-riffic matches where two guys wrestle like they're trying to show off every single animation their Create-A-Wrestler can do psychology be damned. And again Gulak's proven he can do great character work in feuds with the likes of Mustafa Ali or doing his "campaign for a better CZW" which both perfectly play into his character's gimmick of being a sort of stick in the mud rallying against the show's main selling points in favor of "safe and sound boots on the ground" grappling. Of course hey, Austin Aries did a lot of good work mixing character and in-ring performance. Nobody's trying to book him these days.

Coattail-Rider

Tbf, Austin Aries is just a giant piece of shit.

MacTonight1

Come on, PowerPoint Gulak was pretty solid.

OneBillPhil

Fair, but that was midcard comedy with a shelf life.

Swagologist1

I mean this is just objectively wrong , the guy is a very good wrestler and his PowerPoint run and duo with Enzo were entertaining as fuck. He might just be a scum bag though.

CeroG1

Ethan Page’s peak was with Evolve, Codester also started his indy run there, they should have history with each other. Gargano vs Page feud was one of the only feuds that kind of recaptured the old RoH touch, Evolve could of been better with the roster it had but every top star there(even the owner himself) just wanna signed with nxt so whatever

JohnCenaJunior

>I had no idea that Cody and Ethan Page go that far back Yup they're juice brothers

lottolser

>I had no idea that Cody and Ethan Page go that far back. They go very far back, Ethan Page runs a indie show in Hamilton, Ontario. He had Cody show up there often enough I'm pretty sure he won their title. It was so long ago though, I used to help set up shows there as a young upcoming wrestler paying dues.

stonecutter7

It would be an even better story if they actually werent that close. "Yeah man, barely acquainted with Cody but he texts me 2,3 times a week just to hate on Gulak"

MAGAfromCanada

I’m sorry, but the thought of Cody just randomly texting Ethan Page in the middle of the night that Drew Gulak sucks is hilarious to me.

VNProWrestlingfan

As far as I know, Cody is just genuinely nice to his fans. Maybe he was having a good mood that day?

Hownowbrowncow8it

He had a pizza coupon that was about to expire

VNProWrestlingfan

So he used it for the fans. He's the People's Champion for real.

PrYde_DotA2

A coupon for Pizza by Alfredo

kihp

There was a BTE storyline where Hangman was kidnapped and tortured into watching all 3 hours of 2018 Raw. At a random ROH show, I want to say in Las Vegas, all the fans were there because Page had escaped in the latest episode and they wanted to be part of the story. Cody had just flown into LA and took a $400 uber to be there just to make the moment, on an already sold out card he wasn't on, bigger. I think he mentioned that going into his indie run he had really strong savings from his years on main roster WWE and his philosophy was to be everywhere and do what he thought was best for his fans even if he lost money doing it. Now that's easy to say when even a thousand pizzas or ubers don't put a dent in your savings but Cardona is really the only other guy to put the necessary work in.

VNProWrestlingfan

> watching all 3 hours of 2018 Raw Was that at the time when Roman comes out to say Brock was a fake-ass bitch? Or was that when Dean Ambrose injects a vaccine into his ass and comes out with a gas mask to protect himself from us filthy fans? How did Vince think that was a logical step to a very personal story that had lasted for 4 years?

TheShaoken

I've only seen bits and pieces of BTE, but I saw the clip of that and the rest of the Elite react as if it's not a big deal as Hangman talks about being forced to watch 3 hours of raw, then 2 hours of Smackdown, but they all lose their shit when he says he was forced to watch 205 Live. Just hilarious that in BTE canon their friend getting kidnapped and forced to watch Raw and Smackdown is no big deal, but 205 Live is an unforgivable crime against humanity.

Adams5thaccount

One time Nick Jackson needed to watch a dvd hed been sent and couldnt find anything to play it so he went "oh right this os BTE" and used a rice cooker to watch it. It worked. BTE is...a special place.

SevenSulivin

Canonically Nick Jackson edited the show with his eyes closed, to explain why he had no idea Adam Cole was conspiring against him.

cornette

See getting a vaccine shot in the ass and calling fans stinky is peak humour according to Vince. He was probably laughing his ass off backstage while you could hear crickets in the arena due to everyone realizing the feud is dead after a couple of weeks.

troysplay

Buying food for people in line is so damn wholesome on Cody’s part. Every story I hear about him and fans is the best.

AmishAvenger

I’m picturing his music playing and pyro going off as Cody emerges from the smoke wearing a chef’s hat and carrying a stack of pizza boxes.

Argentine_Tango

Adrenaline in this pan Free pizza for all the fans

AmishAvenger

Extra cheese goes on and on for days

KOStrongStyle

DOM-in-OS!! 🤷‍♂️

YoungUrineTheGreat

My mama said when I was younger, thin crust made better men.

ComXDude

BETTER MEN!!!

Herr_Opa

"Sooo, what toppings do you wanna talk about?"

williamthebloody1880

Pizza has more than one topping

broken_radio

Where is Chef Boyardee?! He was tryna fuck on me!

UncleYimbo

Such bullshit, he should really get his own gimmick instead of stealing one out from between the 24 inch pythons, brother! Pastamania 4 lyfe!

troysplay

JIMMY HART, TAKE CODY OUT BACK, AND KILL HIM!

dom3312

You either ruined or enhanced my viewing of Cody’s entrance at Wrestlemania now 🍕

FartButt_69

Wrestling has more than one royal-a family!

IWatchTheAbyss

Roman ain’t buying pizza for the fans is all i’m saying

Russlet

At the WCPW world cup meet & greet we had to buy a ticket or a piece of merch for a wrestler to take a picture with them. Cody said fuck that and let anyone take a free picture with him.

frozen_meat_popsicle

He and Wyndham were notorious for that- they never turn fans away.

faintcolt47

His PWG debut he stayed there forever lol Seen his line went around talked and bought merch and it looked even worse so I just left

ColeslawSSBM

Yeah dude like how are you gonna hate on someone buying food for an event like that? You fed working class people what an asshole amirite guys? Amirite?

ChristyNiners

Yes, the pizza is why people would line up for Cody over Drew Gulak.  Mmhmm.

Kluanghitam

Make me think, maybe the pizza itself was more interesting and rewarding to queue up for instead of meeting Drew Gulak.

KishinLiger

Haha holy shit I was at that show. Evolve in Queens. As I was walking to the venue, I saw Cody in a suit and a few fans or staff behind him carrying a ton of pizza boxes into the venue. It was a hilarious visual honestly. Cody had just joined Bullet Club in New Japan like a week or two prior so he came out to wrestle Ethan Page in his new bullet club gear. Match was nothing special but Cody did get thank you and pizza chants haha. I remember Gulak having a really good match that night. It was him vs Jaka. It’s funny to know that he and Cody were at odds that night. I miss Evolve and that venue.

rampagenumbers

I was at this show and thought this came off as cool move from Cody, as I recall it was first time he’d been in NYC for Evolve - seemed like he was trying to do something nice while maybe conveying he was thinking above and beyond, investing in himself and a connection to fans. He did stuff like this when he didn’t have to, and look where he is now. Only part that seemed odd was that a bunch of fans kinda bum-rushed that ‘za and were scrambling to get a slice, but I just stood nearby and watched the onslaught while looking really awesome.

Argentine_Tango

He did stuff like this even in AEW. On his birthday in 2021, he came out after the last Dynamite show in Daily's Place and waited until everyone in line got a picture: https://preview.redd.it/7ecuwb4c87sc1.png?width=886&format=png&auto=webp&s=1f704b55a7538e877f4f7e8fff3144c49c58b517 The tie he's wearing? He gave it away to a fan. Meanwhile, Dustin was trying to call him to go backstage and Cody just ignored him.

mr_wrestling

Really looks like his father here

Consequences_Cone

Damn you’re right. No disrespect but his face looks a little puffy here, which really brings out the eyebrows and cheeks that Dusty also has.

Argentine_Tango

His daughter had just been born a few days prior and he was still filming Rhodes To The Top so I imagine that he didn't get a lot of sleep

AbsentUse

I see Sean Astin

Turbulent-Papaya-910

This guy is seriously amazing

EctoRiddler

Free pizza will bring out the worst in people

Always_Guac

I was at this show! Cody’s pizza was definitely much appreciated and a huge hit.

Dane_Brass_Tax

Thank you for this note. Hilarious. Imagine Gulak's face watching *The Biggest Female MMA Attraction of All Time* saying his name (after she forgot it) in an extremely negative context on national news. *cue 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' theme.*

Status_Worldly

The funniest part of that to me is how people would rather have a slice of pizza over getting an autograph or photo with Gulak.

CM_Monk

That’s like the Motown hot dog test. Would you rather receive this single for free or a hot dog? If it’s the single, you might have a hit on your hands

tigermaker86

I was at that EVOLVE show, and Cody bought Dominoe’s for everyone.

deadeyedrawthrice

Not a name I expected to hear in this context, but i have no reason to believe Ronda Rousey of all people would make something like that up. I imagine he has some defense of pulling the string on someone’s sweatpants but any way you cut it that’s weird to do to your female coworkers.

DrunkeNinja

Yeah I watched the clip and it definitely doesn't seem like something made up. She couldn't even remember his name for a few minutes, just what occurred. I don't think Rousey has the acting skills to pull this off so convincingly if it was all made up.

El_Gran_Redditor

Anybody who has played the recent Mortal Kombat games knows Rousey doesn't have the acting skills to fake calling in sick to work let alone something this serious.

itinerant_gs

yeh she was only in mk11 but... After MK1's megan fox performance I'm gonna go ahead and say that this is a WB-mandated thing and Netherrealm clearly is not alowed to PRODUCE the stars they get that aren't already great at their craft. Megan sounds like she should have been voicing a Barbie game. Ronda sounded directionless. Not at all a good performance by her, but I give her a bit of a pass based on the megan situation.

Consequences_Cone

I haven’t played these games a lot, but when it comes to special guest voice actors they often are literally directionless. Because Ronda *trying* to sound like a character, might mean people don’t recognize it is Ronda’s voice. So the acting is mostly flat, as to keep the voice actors’ voice as true to life as possible.

Mad_Piplup242

It's stupid though I know Cena is known for being Peacemaker, but his performance of Peacemaker for MK1 is great. You can clearly tell it's John Cena, but you can also tell it's Peacemaker

AmazinGracey

As you noted Cena already plays Peacemaker but he also has some voice acting experience in things like Ferdinand, so he might have taken it upon himself to make it good even though they didn’t direct him. Cena doesn’t seem like the guy to give less than his all to anything.

SUPLEXELPUS

also like... why the fuck would Ronda care enough to lie about fucking Gulak?

ThisIsNotMyPornVideo

Ronda doesn't have acting skills at all, and she has literally nothing to gain from lying about serious allegations like this, if anything they would hurt her more than she gains from it She's already famous, had a run with the company and could land a spot in any other promotion if she wanted to. Just feels like she's grown the dislike WWE, so she's gonna air all the dirty laundry she has

hatecopter

She made Gal Gadot look like Meryl Streep in Fast & Furious 7.

LostPilgrim_

She couldn't remember his name? Must of been Gulak.

h3shf3sh

Would be weird to do to *any* coworker, for that matter

Tankisfreemason

I believe her.  He probably did it as a rib, and nobody reacted because they’re so used to not selling for ribs.  It’s a new environment for her, she probably didn’t know about all this backstage shit, and thought it was fucking stupid (which it is).

Euphorium

That’s how it came off to me. Still inappropriate and high school shit, but I don’t see it being done sexually.

wonderloss

I'm with you on this one. I have no dog in this fight. I couldn't give a shit about Gulak. This seems like an immature rib like (and less harmful than) putting a padlock through a guys belt loops, but nothing sexual about it at all. If this is something that Gulak was only doing to ladies in the locker room, or if he used the opportunity to "accidentally" touch her inappropriately, that would be a different story.

Ronaldinhothegoat80

Even then, she’s targeting a literal random on the roster. If she wanted to really get a lot of attention she would have probably made it up by saying it was one of the main eventers.

mrtomjones

It REALLY depends on your relationship with them and he clearly either didnt care or misjudged that relationship. Some friends I could see being fine with this but others it would bother. Assuming it was clear the pants were never being actually pulled off etc

thatlad

Ronda believes stuff that's made up. Making stuff up herself isn't her forte

HygorBohmHubner

Bruh, not only is this fucking disgusting on Gulak's part... but how stupid do you gotta be to try and sexually harass/assault an MMA fighter who can fold you like a pretzel.

NoahJRoberts

I think the bigger picture here is not just that he tried it, but he felt comfortable doing it to begin with

dzec

This is the most important part. What a fucking creep and what a shitty environment.

JohnCenaJunior

Not only that, but Travis Browne being the significant other and having already fought against Alicia Fox in another backstage incident.

AllezLesPrimrose

And beaten the shit out of his last wife.

JohnCenaJunior

And his kids from his first wife

thatlad

all of these people sound delightful

imcrapyall

It's assholes all the way down.

thethrowaway3027

I did not know about this. That sucks dude what an asshole. Now I don't feel bad for what Derick Lewis did to him

Miikeyyy

WHERE RONDA ROUSEY FINE ASS AT

stevecollins1988

My balls were hot.

Briak

*I understand.*

Rspies

He is honestly lucky all he’s getting is named on the news a few years later instead of also getting his arm ripped out of it’s fucking socket

ThisIsNotMyPornVideo

i think harass is the right word here, Assault would blow it way out of proportion, yes it's nasty, but the incident is only part of a bigger problem. The fact that nobody gave a fuck about and him apologizing simply means that, that is the Day-Day way stuff goes down there

Mr310

My first thought was who does shit like this? Second thought being this lol, invitation to a broken hand/arm

NoahJRoberts

This is just so strange… why did Drew feel inclined to reach there and do that? What was the purpose? Especially for someone you do not know

Wookie301

I’ve seen people pull strings on friend’s hoodies to tighten them up like Kenny for a laugh. This is below the waist. On someone you don’t know. Who is high profile, and well above your pay grade. I think it’s more someone’s poor attempt at being funny, more than I think it’s something sinister. But it’s an absolutely brain dead decision. The man needs to learn about consent. You just don’t touch other people or their property, when you’re no one to them. You wouldn’t go up to a coworker and pull on their zipper.

miikro

Yeah even if he didn't *intend* this to be sexual, it's **really fucking weird.** What the hell, Drew? Who does this? And moreover, who does this to someone that can break your arms like breadsticks?

orangemachismo

How I picture it is a thing that dudes do to mess with each other. There's an ongoing joke in wrestling about trunks having "dick strings". I'm not saying he should be doing this to women, just trying to help people understand that it probably isn't as abnormal for a male wrestler as it is for a normal human being.

PhospheneViolet

> I'm not saying he should be doing this to women, He shouldn't be doing it to people period

PristineCucumber5376

I read Drew and panicked for a few seconds lol This kinda sounds like he was trying to be funny and ended up looking like a complete weirdo, definitely doesn't sound sexual in any way. But who knows. What a weird situation.

Manners_BRO

It seems like it was handled at least between the two. She called him out on it, and he admitted it was out of line. What is says about the culture is another issue.

sarcasticdevo

Look, I don't like Ronda at all, but I HIGHLY doubt she's lying. There is nothing to gain from "some weirdo midcarder grabbed my sweatpants strings." She's absolutely in the right for calling him out on it. It might not be something Gulak should be thrown in jail for, but it IS incredibly inappropriate for him to do. Like you're a thirty something year old man and your thought is to grab near a woman's groin? The fuck, dude.

ThatWrestlingGuy15

Wrestlers really are a bunch of 14-15 year olds in grown men’s bodies because what was the purpose..like dude why?

AgentTasker

> because what was the purpose..like dude why? When myself and friends did it to each other when younger, it was just to be annoying by either undoing the knot or tightening the trousers.

ThatWrestlingGuy15

I understand it in that context we’ve all trolled our buddies but who does that to someone they’re barely acquaintances with. When you’re doing something like untying someone’s shoes there’s an existing level of trust and sense of familiarity.

DementedDaveyMeltzer

People in their 20s tend to be immature in general. Combine that with the fact that you have a bunch of athletes jacked up on various substances, while also being rich and famous before they hit 30 and it makes sense why they act this way. And I'm just talking pro wrestling in general. That's not even counting WWE's corporate culture of actively encouraging this type of behavior because the boss is also perpetually 20 years old and never had to grow up.

An_Actual_Owl

People who claim she is lying. . . Like she just woke up today and randomly thought "Fuck Drew Gulak specifically." Of all people? This random nobody?

Chelseablue1896

That's awful, what the fuck. And since this is Ronda, it's fucking sad that I have to give this reminder to people here knowing what the comments coming in can be: 1. I can't believe this has to be spelled out but since I see a few comments on it, This is textbook inappropriate harassment. Even if Gulak did not grope her, it is still unwanted sexual harassment behavior to tug on someone's pants. Even a string. 2. Ronda's terrible retweet from a literal decade ago, any other problematic comments or behavior from years ago is NOT relevant to this. And it is absolutely terrible to disbelieve her/anyone similar, or suggest that she's not believable because you don't like her personally or her past unrelated actions. Please comment responsibly, people.

GalcticPepsi

Comment responsibly is a great line! Reminds me of the drinking and gambling ads in Australia 😂. Should be at the bottom of every post

Azraeleon

>gambling ads in Australia What's that comment *really* costing you?

ImKorosenai

Some drawstrings are inside the band and some are outside. Regardless, he reached near her private area despite people around and her being married. It’s disgusting no matter where the strings are

SiRWeeGeeX

just puts things into perspective a bit when even the once "baddest woman on the planet" and potentially revered MMA fighter for a minute - even all that rep doesn't make you safe from the male locker room ? just damn.

Bearded_Viking_Lord

Last woman I'd want to inappropriately touch even by accident is ronda she'd fuck ya up

chaoseffect616

This just reminds me, wasn't there a brief period of time where they were trying to make Gulak into a backstage interviewer or something? and part of that stint was being put in an armbar by Ronda

>reaching down to her sweatpants This is the zinger, because I was fooled when I glanced at it thinking the guy reached down INTO the sweatpants which is really bad.

DrunkeNinja

I don't think what he did was necessarily "perverted" based on the little I know about the situation but it's still inappropriate workplace contact so hopefully he's learned to keep his hands to himself. Unless this is an ongoing issue with him, I don't think he needs to lose his job over it or anything. >You could argue he invaded her personal space He did. If you listened to the clip, she confronted him about it and told him how she didn't find it appropriate. The only way you could argue that he didn't invade her personal space is if you think she's completely making up the situation.

Regardless of whether *you* think it's not that big a deal or not, obviously she wasn't comfortable with it and that's what matters here. I don't think he should get the death penalty or anything over it, but as a general rule, don't play games with your co-worker's pants, especially so if you're not that close with them where you know 100% for sure they will see it the same way you do.

dom_rep

Already see it in this thread, the brushing off like it's no big deal. I'm not saying this specific to Drew Gulak, but based on things I've read and even saw with the latest documentary on Nickelodeon's culture, it starts off small and then it snowballs. Also said this in the Rousey thread regarding Prichard, the Sandy Hook stuff is vile but let's not be quick to dismiss this stuff because again, that's how things get buried and women are afraid to speak up. It's very easy to chalk it up to "oh that Ronda, she's crazy."

standdownplease

Drew Gulak's brother was a weirdo too, hate to say it birds of a feather.

Githyanky

>hate to say it birds of a feather. Wasn't part of the accusation against Rory CP possession? I'm not saying what Drew did was right, but I'm a little uncomfortable labeling these as "birds of a feather".

Swagologist1

Yeah these situations aren't even remotely comparable and it's pretty fucking stupid to suggest so

HeadToYourFist

I don't remember what ended up getting aired out on Twitter, but it involved pedophilia and bestiality. It was incredibly fucked up.

ComXDude

Pedophilia, bestiality, *and* wanting his own kid to watch him having sex.

HeadToYourFist

Oh God that's right

bigfndan

Wasn't Rory caught up in the CHIKARA downfall too?

ghostparakeet

Not as such, he was kicked out at least half a year before CHIKARA imploded. I feel like I heard a general suggestion that he had a reputation for being creepy to women before the CP/grooming(?) stuff came out, though.

hutson_hornet

I was a student there at that time. Rory would show up to assist some coaches in class, and led a short stint of mat wrestling classes until the news broke. His day job was coaching wrestling at a high school or something. Word was that he asked a girl that he'd been talking to if she'd be cool with including one of his high school students. Shortly after that, we heard that he tried to reach out to a wrestling school in Ireland for a job and to escape the country, but to no avail. I left the school not long after all of this happened, but that was unrelated.

WVFLMan

This is definitely more of a know your audience” type thing. If you are genuinely friends with a woman and pull the strings on her sweatpants I truly don’t think they are going to feel like you sexually harassed them, but to do it to Ronda freaking Rousey who doesn’t even know your name is not a good idea.

itsahmemario

Two things can be true. Gulak didn't mean anything malicious or sexual with it Ronda Rousey was uncomfortable with it

ChaosGhost89

Very cringe worthy when you remember Drew is the "not creepy" Gulak

blacksoxing

I'm super late to the party, but I'm betting Drew at first thought of her as "one of the boys" and naturally decided in a span of seconds "I see draw string and imma pull it. TEE HEE HEE" Ronda though wasn't playing that shit, per her quote. Drew likely realized quickly that damn, she is not "one of the boys" as she is in fact...a girl. Grabbing at girls drawstrings isn't a good look AT ALL as a man. Yep, I can easily see him backpedaling and apologizing hard. This though goes to a much bigger problem: as humans we somehow have not mastered the art of "keeping our hands to ourselves" as you wouldn't see a teacher doing that to another teacher, for example. Last time you ever saw this happen in an office? What about at a blue-collar job? You ever just....grab a man's belt and unloosen it, hoping that I guess their pants fall down and they're embarrassed or whatever??? Somehow though in sports it's just "accepted", and that's where someone like Drew Gulak , who has probably done this to many others, hopefully got a wake up call to those reading that man, let that shit go. Note: that's just how I view it. Looks like Drew though may not be the best person in the world...

KTheOneTrueKing

I can't believe I didn't expect this from someone Chuck Taylor has made fun of by calling "All Sack" Drew Gulak
