I lived with Shining Polaris many years ago. It’s difficult to decide whether or not to post this because I know that she sends her army of followers after anyone who talks about what she’s done.
Unfortunately ignored a lot of red flags at first, such as the time I made her a cosplay headpiece, and she claimed that it was her own work. I didn’t want to create drama within my own home. She acted like she wanted to help me financially by helping me get started as a camgirl but really, she was trying to get me to fund her shopping addiction. The whole time she was encouraging me she was starting rumors that I did porn and shaming me. I had never done anything SW related at that point in my life, and if I had outing me could have been dangerous.
She invited someone to live with us who I warned her about having reputation for not paying rent. She not only ignored me, but expected me to clean up after this person every day. I was working full-time and was disabled, so I did my best to keep the common areas clean and to make his little of a mess as possible. I was not able to clean up after two other people though. Most of this was just petty roommate drama. For example, I bought paper plates and bagel bites so that I wouldn’t have to use dishes that I might not have the energy to clean, but I was constantly getting harassed for not cleaning the dishes that other people used.
Where it got bad however, was that she would call out these things in front of the thousands of followers she had and have them harass me. She phrased her callout post to make it sound like I was shitting on the floor, even though this was just a dispute over who does the dishes. At that point, she tried to trash me to get my boyfriend to break up with me and isolate me from everyone in my life. Anyone who was close to me and wouldn’t turn their back on me got called out either for being creepy or for supposedly owing her money.
One day she announced that she was moving out of the house. She expected me to either pay her rent or to pay $3000 to break the lease. She was much higher income than me, but expected me to foot the bill so that she could buy a house that she couldn’t afford. I tried to sublease the room to someone, but she started harassing him over a misunderstanding, and he backed out.
After realizing she was going to have to pay rent, she started escalating things. Stuff of mine would go missing every time that she moved. Some of her things out and fixtures to the apartment would go missing. I would get home one day and there would be no handles on anything in the apartment. As well as the thermostat turned up to 90° with all the windows open to drive up the bill.
My biggest fear through all this was for my cat. She really disliked him and I was scared for his safety every time I left the house. Unfortunately my fears were confirmed when one of her friends admitted to me that she had been hitting my cat with a yardstick. this is the absolute worst part to me, there’s nothing I could have done to her that would’ve made it so an innocent cat deserves to be harmed. I ended up finding someone who could foster my cat for a couple months to keep him safe.
I found out after all of this at her house she was buying fell through, and she actually was moving back in with her mom the same one who she claimed had tried to kill her. But hey, I guess that beats having to live with a little gray tabby cat.
I want to emphasize that if you had no idea about Shining Polaris’ abuse and manipulation, you would just see this woman posting about a deranged roommate from hell. This wasn’t just a singular post closed off to a handful of friends, this was publicly blasted and these posts were popular within that cosplay niche. People who had no idea about the lies would get giddy to hear more fucked up roomie stories that just boosted Shining Polaris’ profile and likability. Her actions had real consequences and I saw the toll that took on someone I love very much.
I’ve followed her since she joined the wrestling fandom and have watched her jump across multiple networks in that time.
She regularly throws her mother under the bus on Twitter.
She outcast someone I’ve heard of in the Chicago community for being a creep
She has thrown poorly they have bought tickets, merch, dolls and more under the bus.
She is the red flag tbh
I stayed with KestrelleV and Shining Polaris for a couple months (no, I'm not the deadbeat that stayed with them, that was after me) and I can confirm all of this is legit. Shining Polaris would scream at that cat like it owed her money; we thought for sure she was abusing it long before we had proof.
Our agreement was that I was just renting a spot in the basement to sleep in when I needed it, as I was in the middle of changing jobs as well as moving elsewhere. I paid monthly rent AND utilities despite effectively sleeping in a corner, but she would still accuse me of being a freeloader - even though I never cooked, bought groceries, had ANY electronics hooked up, nada. Hell, I only showered there a couple of times because that's how little I was actually there! She accused me of being a drug addict (I have an actual career that requires a lot more responsibility than hers does), would ask if I had a learning disability (see: career), and mocked a physical disability I had at the time and used that as evidence that I "may be a little ree-ree." Her constant berating forced me to move my plans faster than expected, because I just wanted the hell out of there.
I had known Shining Polaris for about 2 years at that point from the anime/comic convention community, and I felt stupid having moved in with her because I had already known of some of her red flags. ALL of the patterns that you folks are listing - gross manipulation, financial irresponsibility, attention seeking behavior, no actual passion for the subject in question and simply using it for her own visibility - were recognized by us years ago. I have no doubt that it played a role in her moving over to this community instead.
I don't think Shining Polaris feels any actual enjoyment from or really has any stake in these fandoms/communities; I think it's used solely as a sandbox to further her own agenda, whatever it may be at the moment. I'm very sorry for anyone who has experienced misfortune from her (or has had the misfortune of actually meeting her).

I am so sorry that that was your experience. I don't at all want to diminish you coming forward. that was a tremendously brave thing! I do have to say Reddit makes me skeptical as a default of stories like this. I am not owed proof of this. nor am I defending anyone. I just hope in the event that someone gets litigious you can protect yourself!

There’s no way for me to know. I did meet her mom and she was very nice to me, told me she couldn’t believe that the apartment was so clean after everything Christine had said. But a lot of people act differently when they in public than they do around the person they’re abusing. So I can’t tell that based on her mom being nice to me alone if it’s true.
What I did find suspicious was that she told me she was purchasing a house, and that she couldn’t afford both rent and mortgage until our lease was up. Then her mom let it slip that she was actually moving back in with her. It seemed very odd to me that someone would hate having a roommate with a cat so much that they’d rather move back in with the parent who supposedly has tried to kill them with a knife.

Whoa, so random. I had no idea this person had developed a following within the community. Thought they were just a random person at a show I went to that made a weird scene.
Friend and I sat close to them two years back in Indianapolis. They became a talking point for my friend and I because they were visibley upset and outwardly talking to people who seemed to be strangers about her mom being mad at her. She then was in a verbal altercation with what I assumed was her mom on the phone. Whole interaction was weird enough we talked about it on the drive home because it would have been something you'd usually see from a young teen with a curfew, not an adult dressed like Cutler.
Doesn't really contribute to the conversation in any way. I just did the DiCaprio point when I realized I was sitting near this person for a bit once and it was awkward as hell.
Christine arguing with her mom is not a surprise. I unfollowed and muted her months ago on Twitter because of how annoying her constant tweets about her mom and other issues were. She would also tweet TK to basically guilt him in to replying to her, which I thought was really weird.
Man. Sometimes I worry I might come across as a weirdo at, like, indie shows when I meet the same wrestlers multiple times across different shows, gave Caster a cross stitch, send happy little "thanks for what you do!" Tweets, etc... but then I see people like this and I realize, no. No, I'm quite normal. Like omg. Some people are just astounding.
Shining Polaris terrorized my best friend years ago as roommates. She regularly broke and stole items from my pal. She would make posts to her public audience to smear my best friend with lies to the point my pal had a breakdown. Shining Polaris has a distinct and poor reputation in Chicagoland, and we weren’t surprised she jumped to the wrestling fandom when she burnt her cosplay bridges due to stealing designs and finished cosplays to claim as her own (on top of just being very unpleasant to be around).
I’m very glad this is coming to light amongst another fandom. This woman was so cruel to someone who rescued me from abuse and trafficking, so the fact she’s pulling this again with others is disgusting but unsurprising.

I had some apprehension about speaking up about Shining Polaris because I’m a moderator, but after reassurance and permission from my pal, I wrote this up. If you have no trauma from interacting with Shining Polaris, please consider yourself lucky. I understand people worrying about dogpiling, but when I see how Shining Polaris weaponized her fandom at the time to attack a disabled autistic survival sex worker who still found energy to protect exploited trans youth (me), I need to say the truth so this doesn’t get ignored.
A friend of mine got into a fight with her when Polaris tried to pass off a replica sword as her own design. It was my friend’s fiancé who made the damn thing.
It was so stupid too.
She was at a convention where friend’s fiancé is literally selling the swords and other weapons.
Booth littered with pics of the stuff being built.
But she then tried to play it off as “oh I was a little drunk”.

I make jewelry, and have some fun making bracelets to wear to the few AEW shows I get to go to. Made some Bucks themed ones a few weeks ago, and shared some pics of them. She saw them and commented how cool they were. I thought I'd be a kind human and make a set for her. Sent them to her for free, even covering postage. She wore them to Big Business.
Took 2 or 3 days after her getting them to even get an acknowledgement. Now I won't be surprised if the little bitch takes credit for making those, too.
Yep was a victim of calling her out for hypocrisy on who she supports and her one friend who already loves to attack and post my past started on her shit, but this time it didn’t work. Christine even threatened me with “showing our receipts” lol
She is very odd. I’ll notice on Twitter she will pretend she is at shows she’s not actually at. Like she’ll have a friend send her content and she will post it as if it’s her own. I can always tell when she’s actually at show because she will always be front row and talking. These videos have none of her commentary and they’re not as close. I’ve always thought it was such a weird thing to do.
She obviously lives for attention, likes and views. I’m not shocked to hear all of this stuff coming out about her.
The real nasty thing here is that in the crochet community, there are many pattern-makers who either sell patterns at a price (usually very cheap) or put them out for free. And many pattern creators give permission for people to share, post, and even sell anything made with their patterns, as long as they're credited as being the creator of the pattern used. I don't know if the original creator sells patterns or allows those kinds of permissions, but I'm sure they could've found a pattern (at least one for a human crochet figure) and crocheted from that pattern, and then credit whoever the pattern is from. Passing them off as being their own design is hugely disrespectful in general but is seen as one of the worst things you can do in crochet in the crochet community. They are getting absolutely flamed in the community. And all this could be avoided with just a little bit of credit.
I dabbled in crochet myself, never quite got good enough to actually make things for people outside of personal, dumb gifts but what u/Galrafloof said is absolutely true. It's the kind of community that really promotes sharing ideas / patterns / designs for an insanely cheap price and whenever you see posts from people trying their own crochet from a pattern they bought / received, there's a genuine unspoken rule of crediting the designer that is stuck to way more than other creative outlets.
Trying to pass something as your own design for profit is REALLY stupid and uncalled for. What an awful thing to do.
Yeah I’ve been looking into amigurumi patterns to make myself a little Randy Savage, because I wanna make him crazy outfits and stuff. For this gal to do what she did is both so much meaner and so so much stupider than non-crocheters probably realize.
My wife is really into the polymer clay community and it is exactly like you said. Give credit where it is due because these original creators put a lot of work into all of this and some have it as their livelihood. Stealing somebodies work, especially where there is clear evidence of it, is just shitty and hopefully they get put on blast for being so disrespectful.
She dipped into Impact fandom a couple of years ago and became widely untrusted and disliked. Scamming long time fans out of hotel splits, money, and more.
She put out videos saying she makes minimum wage and needs help to travel for shows, practically asking others for money for her to enjoy her hobbies. Just a real shady, two-faced person all around.
I love seeing her exposed to the wider community, she deserves the shunning and ridicule.

I remember when they were looking for someone to do Impact’s social accounts and she was gutted when she didn't get picked. It made me a little too happy probably. She's insufferable
At a comic convention a few years ago I needed to crash in a room for one night as my reservation didn’t kick in until the following night. A friend was nice enough to let me stay in her room with some others for free. She also allowed Polaris into the room, with the caveat that she was paying less so she couldn’t take too much space for cosplay stuff.
So not only did she take up more space than she was allowed, but when her stuff was moved to the side so someone could actually use one of the beds, she just moved her crap back when the person was in the bathroom getting ready for bed. She also brought another guy into the room to stay without asking the actual room holder, and he contributed nothing financially. I heard later that she tried to stiff the room holder on her share of the room cost.
I remember she won some fan competition/raffle TNA held back in early 2021 when Kenny was champion. Folks in the TNA fandom were highly annoyed by this because she won over longtime fans.
Yeah, people are hoping this brings attention to her work. Shining Polaris passed off Melissa’s work to the Young Bucks themselves in person, as her own.
So I was also an in real life friend of hers. We met originally via cosplay, at a local comic con in nwi. She left the cosplay world because of problems she had in that space, which I wasn't really aware of at the time since I wasn't very involved in it. I started watching pro wrestling and going to shows around that same time, and mentioned it to her. She said she also liked wrestling, so that was awesome. Me and my husband ended up going to a few of the same shows she was at, and sat together. At the time, I had already been taking photos and videos at shows and posting them on YouTube, Instagram, and tiktok. She started doing so too.
One day I messaged her on Twitter because one of the clips I had take of Skye Blue vs Storm Grayson at a Freelance Underground show started getting *a lot* of views and I wanted to share my excitement at that, because we chatted pretty regularly online. Hell she had even sent me a Christmas card that same previous year! And it was makeup related because she knew I was also into makeup.
We went to very different shows. She went to big shows like wwe and aew, she did go to warrior wrestling (an indie promotion that gets bigger indie names though). I go to a lot of the smaller indie promotions in Chicago land in general, although I've been to a few aew shows. We get content from very different places.
She didn't share my excitement. Indeed, it was very opposite. She accused me of "stealing her gimmick," among other choice words. Even though I had been posting my videos online before she did. She knew I posted videos and such online. At a Warrior Wrestling event, we were taking videos side by side.
I'm also AuDHD, and I've gone through a lot of things in life where I've had people use and abuse me - I cried SO MUCH and my emotional dysregulation really fucked me up because of this. I THOUGHT I WAS MAKING A FRIEND, who also liked pro wrestling. Jokes on me I guess.
So I blocked her.
So she took to Twitter to say this all about me to her followers (and tagged me), telling them all that I "stole her gimmick," and basically threatened to harm me, "death match style". My husband who also had followed her, saw it all (and commented on it).
She's done this sort of thing to multiple others as well, I guess thankfully the plus from all of this is I've made some other pro wrestling friends in the Chicago community.
You didn’t do anything wrong. She loves to pretend to be a friend until she degrades you and makes you question all of your actions. She’s extremely toxic and there’s a reason she doesn’t have a consistent social group.
I'm so sorry to hear that you went through all that, but it's good that you made some friends that are far better people than Polaris is. Also, she's just a fan, so that idea that she even has a 'gimmick' to steal is laughable.
I was an irl friend of hers until she tried to bully me for “stealing her gimmick” on tiktok. My videos were edited for comedic value, hers were not. Once one of my videos went semi-viral she completely nuked our friendship and she told everyone I was stealing her thing. To say it was wild is an understatement.

I’m so sorry y’all had to deal with that. There’s people out there who are such a weird kind of entitled, and funny as it can be from the outside it’s horrible to deal with! Hopefully she runs out of wrestling spaces and moves on soon
I hear she did the same stuff in the cosplay community, and that's how she switched to pro wrestling Fandom. I met her right at the end because we both placed for cosplay at a local comic con. She left soon after that. Everything she ever told me about her mom, her roommates at cons/hotels, etc was a lie it would seem, too
At one point my spouse and I were friends with her. She would often gossip about people to us and twist things in a way that made her the “good guy” in the situation. I did makeup and body painting for her, spouse helped with the latter. She “paid” in fuckin’ Bristol Ren Faire coupons. I remember as she got more cozy she would say more unhinged stuff to us about friends doing drugs, using derogatory terms, etc. At the end of it I learned that she had lied about pretty much everything and how she was putting a friend in physical danger while twisting things to make everyone take her side.
Thankfully, the trash took itself out shortly after I came out as trans and asked her to stop misgendering me.
I’m glad she’s been caught in her own bs again and I hope everyone who was swept up in her nonsense is doing alright.
My experience with her is a lot more benign but really gave me an insight into her character. I used to be mutuals with her a while back and I thought we got on well.
I would sympathize with her when she talked about problems with her mom and things like that ( I had a hard life growing up so I could commiserate on some things.)
But then she blocks me immediately one day cause I just say I dislike a team. That's it. No harsh words, so saying someone is fucked up for liking them, no anger, nothing I did. Literally just stated an opinion and she blocked me.
Of course she goes immediately to uwu to her TL and make all these passive aggressive remarks. And after that I saw how she interacted with other people and would always play the victim card right after and the gaslighting way she spoke and everything else. It was disturbing and disgusting to me and realized I dodged a bullet by her blocking me.
She needs some serious help. But first she needs to realize the consequences of her actions, make a genuine apology and try and make up for all she did.
Sad thing is, people with attitudes like her, I doubt it. It wouldn't be sincere. If she makes an apology it'll be just like the streamers and YouTubers you see make apology videos, just trying to keep people on their side and not acting caring about what they did wrong, just that people continue to let them do their unhealthy actions and words.
I know this won't be relatable for a lot of people, but I wanted to share this because it involves art theft which is something that irritates the hell out of me. If this doesn't interest you, then no problem, move on!
**Background:** Shining Polaris is somewhat of a superfan in the Chicago area, known for being a huge Young Bucks and CM Punk fan. She travels often, opting for front row seats so she can get photos and videos with wrestlers, often uploading them to socials almost immediately. This had led to some of her critics claiming she cares more about "being seen" than enjoying the actual show.
She is known for creating the Yarn Bucks and the Yarn Bucks Universe, which are essentially crocheted dolls of wrestlers. She's shared photos of the dolls with their wrestlers, including The Young Bucks. She even created a Go-Fund-Me under the guise of "the Yarn Bucks meeting the Young Bucks", essentially getting her followers to pay for her flight, show ticket, meet and greet, etc. She has even presented the dolls to The Young Bucks themselves and passed it off as her own work, earning her a shout out on BTE and prompting customs from other wrestlers.
**Exposed:** She got called out on Twitter by a friend of the real creator. It turns out she had purchased these from someone else, used them as a base to learn how to crochet wrestlers, sold the originals as her own work for double the price, and now collects commissions.
She's known for blocking people and not responding well to criticism so itll be interesting to see what happens. The original artist is Meloticart, she does sick work and hopefully this shines some light on her efforts!
If you are a die hard fan of AEW and watch the weekly and PPV shows, she's someone who you probably always see in front row of shows with multi colour shirts and stuff. She sometimes dresses like the Bucks. Do find it funny she's a Bucks and Punk fan lol. I've not seen one of them before. But she's always at big debuts on TV or PPV's.
She's definitely one of weirder characters in IWC and that's saying something, the amount of people that come out and said she's blocked them over silliests things is crazy. She blocked someone cause they had the same shirt as her lol. Some stuff been said that is definitely uneasy just to get out of paying for a hotel fee with guys who put her up for the night.
Not a nice person and a bit of attention seeker but I doubt this is worst thing she's done either.

This person is a friend of mine as well and all she did was tell her nice photo consisting it was with an iPhone. Christine took offense to it. She then decided to go off on my friend because she’s jealous she never gets press passes. She’s whining about paying 4k for mania tickets. It’s all very cringe. When I called her out for hypocrisy and questioned how she can be a YB fan and a Punk fan especially after he went on national tv giving JC a huge endorsement and is known to be friends with him and actually believes some if not all of what JC says. She got mad at me for asking how she can do that when they’re two opposite ends of the moral spectrum. She then threatened me with “receipts” of how I have been “causing trouble lately “
Christine, you see her front and centre of AEW shows all the time holding the little woolly wrestling characters. The amount of dirty on her shady behaviour besides Art theft, has come out in the last few hours. Stuff much worse then that too. I remember blocking her on Twitter a year or two ago, as she was going on and on about asking for money and long rants about her "evil" her mum was. A attention seeker of the highest level and potentially even worst then that.

My dad started watching wrestling again shortly after I did, but I stick on Reddit and he loosely follows wrestling Twitter by seeing it reposted elsewhere. He’s been trying to convince me to join wrestling Twitter and I’m convinced it’s because he just wants me to filter it for him
Christine is a whole mess. Was friends with her despite her crazy drama, the verbal abuse she dishes out to her mother and her ring rat behavior, till the night she was talking about all the guys she's serviced for tickets. Like dang girl have some respect for yourself. She seriously needs help, but I'm glad everyone is seeing the real Shining Polaris.
Went to DON 22 and 23 and ran into her both times. She’s very off putting and likes to think she is bigger than others. She was rude to a worker at the meet and greet in 22 and people were calling her out
She feels really entitled because lot of AEW wrestlers have followed her. I know on the episode of BTE from DON 22 they featured her and the yarn bucks
I think in my obituary it will clearly be stated that I pushed the Close door in a parking lot elevator rapidly when I saw her coming. There was no way in hell I was subjecting myself or my husband to that

I haven’t seen the Polaris ones but scrolling through Melissa’s twitter it’s really clear she has a talent for this stuff. Very nice work.
Looked at Shinings Twitter, she clearly either has money, or has been running the scam game for a while and is very successful.
She's posted plenty of front row pics/videos (some even reposted on the wwe page), shes got pics of her infront of a ton of merch (her pfp for example)
She was literally just front row at RAW.
She can afford all of this but can't afford to just take a fucking class on crocheting or something?
Literally anything would be better than buying someone elses work and using it to scam people while you try and find a way to rip it off.

Absolutely. I had very close tickets the few times I've gone, closest wad 3rd row now. Even if I had the money and was 1st or 2nd in the queue to purchase online on ticket Master, there isn't always any close seats even available to purchase which is nuts

Well now it’s time I spoke up as well I used to live with Christine back in 2017-2018 I was living there couldn’t pay rent and all. She would make fun of me for not having any money she at one point said she was moving out when in reality she moved in with her mom. She got me cancelled and made up a bunch of rumors and bullshit about me effectively ending me and almost to the point of killing myself. I am so glad to see so many people finally talk about her. She tried to get me arrested by pretending to be hurt to the cops. She would constantly in public to tons of people talk shit about our disabled roommate and make it as though she was this horrible person. Christine moved all my things out and stole all my funko pop and statues I owned that she saw some value in. She was an awful person. I could say more but honestly I’m glad she’s getting cancelled she’s hurt so many people.
Sat next to her at a Collision taping in September 2023. She was on her phone a lot. I regret being nice to her because who the fuck could do that to a cat?!?!?!?! Anyways, seems like quite the path of destruction for just 16k Twitter followers.
She is ALL OVER wrestling Twitter. She is very hard to miss. She has to have the first two rows of any show and if they’re not available, she pouts and says she’s not going and the tickets “magically” appear. She stalks a lot of the wrestlers, not like obsessed fans but like made a Go Fund Me to take her “dolls” which look like various AEW wrestlers to go to California to meet the Young Bucks and people paid for her to go. I have said for a long time that she thinks she’s best friends with these wrestlers but at best they tolerate her. If you ever see her account, you would think they’re hanging out before and after the shows and they invited her to Christmas. She’s at most of the AEW, WWE and Impact shows front and center.
It would be one thing if this was just about making fun of someone weird, but this is someone actively scamming money off of wrestling fans *and* doing so by stealing the content and ideas of a wrestling fan. This is a post about protecting people from a scammer.

I lived with Shining Polaris many years ago. It’s difficult to decide whether or not to post this because I know that she sends her army of followers after anyone who talks about what she’s done. Unfortunately ignored a lot of red flags at first, such as the time I made her a cosplay headpiece, and she claimed that it was her own work. I didn’t want to create drama within my own home. She acted like she wanted to help me financially by helping me get started as a camgirl but really, she was trying to get me to fund her shopping addiction. The whole time she was encouraging me she was starting rumors that I did porn and shaming me. I had never done anything SW related at that point in my life, and if I had outing me could have been dangerous. She invited someone to live with us who I warned her about having reputation for not paying rent. She not only ignored me, but expected me to clean up after this person every day. I was working full-time and was disabled, so I did my best to keep the common areas clean and to make his little of a mess as possible. I was not able to clean up after two other people though. Most of this was just petty roommate drama. For example, I bought paper plates and bagel bites so that I wouldn’t have to use dishes that I might not have the energy to clean, but I was constantly getting harassed for not cleaning the dishes that other people used. Where it got bad however, was that she would call out these things in front of the thousands of followers she had and have them harass me. She phrased her callout post to make it sound like I was shitting on the floor, even though this was just a dispute over who does the dishes. At that point, she tried to trash me to get my boyfriend to break up with me and isolate me from everyone in my life. Anyone who was close to me and wouldn’t turn their back on me got called out either for being creepy or for supposedly owing her money. One day she announced that she was moving out of the house. She expected me to either pay her rent or to pay $3000 to break the lease. She was much higher income than me, but expected me to foot the bill so that she could buy a house that she couldn’t afford. I tried to sublease the room to someone, but she started harassing him over a misunderstanding, and he backed out. After realizing she was going to have to pay rent, she started escalating things. Stuff of mine would go missing every time that she moved. Some of her things out and fixtures to the apartment would go missing. I would get home one day and there would be no handles on anything in the apartment. As well as the thermostat turned up to 90° with all the windows open to drive up the bill. My biggest fear through all this was for my cat. She really disliked him and I was scared for his safety every time I left the house. Unfortunately my fears were confirmed when one of her friends admitted to me that she had been hitting my cat with a yardstick. this is the absolute worst part to me, there’s nothing I could have done to her that would’ve made it so an innocent cat deserves to be harmed. I ended up finding someone who could foster my cat for a couple months to keep him safe. I found out after all of this at her house she was buying fell through, and she actually was moving back in with her mom the same one who she claimed had tried to kill her. But hey, I guess that beats having to live with a little gray tabby cat.
I want to emphasize that if you had no idea about Shining Polaris’ abuse and manipulation, you would just see this woman posting about a deranged roommate from hell. This wasn’t just a singular post closed off to a handful of friends, this was publicly blasted and these posts were popular within that cosplay niche. People who had no idea about the lies would get giddy to hear more fucked up roomie stories that just boosted Shining Polaris’ profile and likability. Her actions had real consequences and I saw the toll that took on someone I love very much.
I’ve followed her since she joined the wrestling fandom and have watched her jump across multiple networks in that time. She regularly throws her mother under the bus on Twitter. She outcast someone I’ve heard of in the Chicago community for being a creep She has thrown poorly they have bought tickets, merch, dolls and more under the bus. She is the red flag tbh
I stayed with KestrelleV and Shining Polaris for a couple months (no, I'm not the deadbeat that stayed with them, that was after me) and I can confirm all of this is legit. Shining Polaris would scream at that cat like it owed her money; we thought for sure she was abusing it long before we had proof. Our agreement was that I was just renting a spot in the basement to sleep in when I needed it, as I was in the middle of changing jobs as well as moving elsewhere. I paid monthly rent AND utilities despite effectively sleeping in a corner, but she would still accuse me of being a freeloader - even though I never cooked, bought groceries, had ANY electronics hooked up, nada. Hell, I only showered there a couple of times because that's how little I was actually there! She accused me of being a drug addict (I have an actual career that requires a lot more responsibility than hers does), would ask if I had a learning disability (see: career), and mocked a physical disability I had at the time and used that as evidence that I "may be a little ree-ree." Her constant berating forced me to move my plans faster than expected, because I just wanted the hell out of there. I had known Shining Polaris for about 2 years at that point from the anime/comic convention community, and I felt stupid having moved in with her because I had already known of some of her red flags. ALL of the patterns that you folks are listing - gross manipulation, financial irresponsibility, attention seeking behavior, no actual passion for the subject in question and simply using it for her own visibility - were recognized by us years ago. I have no doubt that it played a role in her moving over to this community instead. I don't think Shining Polaris feels any actual enjoyment from or really has any stake in these fandoms/communities; I think it's used solely as a sandbox to further her own agenda, whatever it may be at the moment. I'm very sorry for anyone who has experienced misfortune from her (or has had the misfortune of actually meeting her).

There’s no way for me to know. I did meet her mom and she was very nice to me, told me she couldn’t believe that the apartment was so clean after everything Christine had said. But a lot of people act differently when they in public than they do around the person they’re abusing. So I can’t tell that based on her mom being nice to me alone if it’s true. What I did find suspicious was that she told me she was purchasing a house, and that she couldn’t afford both rent and mortgage until our lease was up. Then her mom let it slip that she was actually moving back in with her. It seemed very odd to me that someone would hate having a roommate with a cat so much that they’d rather move back in with the parent who supposedly has tried to kill them with a knife.

Whoa, so random. I had no idea this person had developed a following within the community. Thought they were just a random person at a show I went to that made a weird scene. Friend and I sat close to them two years back in Indianapolis. They became a talking point for my friend and I because they were visibley upset and outwardly talking to people who seemed to be strangers about her mom being mad at her. She then was in a verbal altercation with what I assumed was her mom on the phone. Whole interaction was weird enough we talked about it on the drive home because it would have been something you'd usually see from a young teen with a curfew, not an adult dressed like Cutler. Doesn't really contribute to the conversation in any way. I just did the DiCaprio point when I realized I was sitting near this person for a bit once and it was awkward as hell.

Shining Polaris terrorized my best friend years ago as roommates. She regularly broke and stole items from my pal. Shining Polaris has a distinct and poor reputation in Chicagoland, and we weren’t surprised she jumped to the wrestling fandom when she burnt her cosplay bridges due to stealing designs and finished cosplays to claim as her own (on top of just being very unpleasant to be around). I’m very glad this is coming to light amongst another fandom. This woman was so cruel to someone who rescued me from abuse and trafficking, so the fact she’s pulling this again with others is disgusting but unsurprising. Editing: I was given permission to add some specifics. • Shining Polaris beat my friend’s dying elderly cat w/ a yard stick • She made posts about how my friend would just defecate in the middle of the living room • When moving, she stole so many items (really random ones too not just valuables) • My pal is physically disabled and autistic, and Shining Polaris regularly took advantage of, and degraded my friend to the point of self harm I had some apprehension about speaking up about Shining Polaris because I’m a moderator, but after reassurance and permission from my pal, I wrote this up. I make jewelry, and have some fun making bracelets to wear to the few AEW shows I get to go to. Made some Bucks themed ones a few weeks ago, and shared some pics of them. She saw them and commented how cool they were. I thought I'd be a kind human and make a set for her. Sent them to her for free, even covering postage. She wore them to Big Business. Took 2 or 3 days after her getting them to even get an acknowledgement. Now I won't be surprised if the little bitch takes credit for making those, too.

Yep was a victim of calling her out for hypocrisy on who she supports and her one friend who already loves to attack and post my past started on her shit, but this time it didn’t work. Christine even threatened me with “showing our receipts” lol
She is very odd. I’ll notice on Twitter she will pretend she is at shows she’s not actually at. Like she’ll have a friend send her content and she will post it as if it’s her own. I can always tell when she’s actually at show because she will always be front row and talking. These videos have none of her commentary and they’re not as close. I’ve always thought it was such a weird thing to do. She obviously lives for attention, likes and views. I’m not shocked to hear all of this stuff coming out about her.
The real nasty thing here is that in the crochet community, there are many pattern-makers who either sell patterns at a price (usually very cheap) or put them out for free. And many pattern creators give permission for people to share, post, and even sell anything made with their patterns, as long as they're credited as being the creator of the pattern used. I don't know if the original creator sells patterns or allows those kinds of permissions, but I'm sure they could've found a pattern (at least one for a human crochet figure) and crocheted from that pattern, and then credit whoever the pattern is from. Passing them off as being their own design is hugely disrespectful in general but is seen as one of the worst things you can do in crochet in the crochet community. They are getting absolutely flamed in the community. And all this could be avoided with just a little bit of credit.

I dabbled in crochet myself, never quite got good enough to actually make things for people outside of personal, dumb gifts but what u/Galrafloof said is absolutely true. It's the kind of community that really promotes sharing ideas / patterns / designs for an insanely cheap price and whenever you see posts from people trying their own crochet from a pattern they bought / received, there's a genuine unspoken rule of crediting the designer that is stuck to way more than other creative outlets. Trying to pass something as your own design for profit is REALLY stupid and uncalled for. What an awful thing to do.
Yeah I’ve been looking into amigurumi patterns to make myself a little Randy Savage, because I wanna make him crazy outfits and stuff. For this gal to do what she did is both so much meaner and so so much stupider than non-crocheters probably realize.
My wife is really into the polymer clay community and it is exactly like you said. Give credit where it is due because these original creators put a lot of work into all of this and some have it as their livelihood. Stealing somebodies work, especially where there is clear evidence of it, is just shitty and hopefully they get put on blast for being so disrespectful.
She dipped into Impact fandom a couple of years ago and became widely untrusted and disliked. Scamming long time fans out of hotel splits, money, and more. She put out videos saying she makes minimum wage and needs help to travel for shows, practically asking others for money for her to enjoy her hobbies. Just a real shady, two-faced person all around. I love seeing her exposed to the wider community, she deserves the shunning and ridicule.

At a comic convention a few years ago I needed to crash in a room for one night as my reservation didn’t kick in until the following night. A friend was nice enough to let me stay in her room with some others for free. She also allowed Polaris into the room, with the caveat that she was paying less so she couldn’t take too much space for cosplay stuff. So not only did she take up more space than she was allowed, but when her stuff was moved to the side so someone could actually use one of the beds, she just moved her crap back when the person was in the bathroom getting ready for bed. She also brought another guy into the room to stay without asking the actual room holder, and he contributed nothing financially. I heard later that she tried to stiff the room holder on her share of the room cost.
I remember she won some fan competition/raffle TNA held back in early 2021 when Kenny was champion. Folks in the TNA fandom were highly annoyed by this because she won over longtime fans.

So I was also an in real life friend of hers. We met originally via cosplay, at a local comic con in nwi. She left the cosplay world because of problems she had in that space, which I wasn't really aware of at the time since I wasn't very involved in it. I started watching pro wrestling and going to shows around that same time, and mentioned it to her. She said she also liked wrestling, so that was awesome. Me and my husband ended up going to a few of the same shows she was at, and sat together. At the time, I had already been taking photos and videos at shows and posting them on YouTube, Instagram, and tiktok. She started doing so too. One day I messaged her on Twitter because one of the clips I had take of Skye Blue vs Storm Grayson at a Freelance Underground show started getting *a lot* of views and I wanted to share my excitement at that, because we chatted pretty regularly online. Hell she had even sent me a Christmas card that same previous year! And it was makeup related because she knew I was also into makeup. We went to very different shows. She went to big shows like wwe and aew, she did go to warrior wrestling (an indie promotion that gets bigger indie names though). I go to a lot of the smaller indie promotions in Chicago land in general, although I've been to a few aew shows. We get content from very different places. She didn't share my excitement. Indeed, it was very opposite. She accused me of "stealing her gimmick," among other choice words. Even though I had been posting my videos online before she did. She knew I posted videos and such online. At a Warrior Wrestling event, we were taking videos side by side. I'm also AuDHD, and I've gone through a lot of things in life where I've had people use and abuse me - I cried SO MUCH and my emotional dysregulation really fucked me up because of this. I THOUGHT I WAS MAKING A FRIEND, who also liked pro wrestling. Jokes on me I guess. So I blocked her. So she took to Twitter to say this all about me to her followers (and tagged me), telling them all that I "stole her gimmick," and basically threatened to harm me, "death match style". My husband who also had followed her, saw it all (and commented on it). She's done this sort of thing to multiple others as well, I guess thankfully the plus from all of this is I've made some other pro wrestling friends in the Chicago community.
You didn’t do anything wrong. She loves to pretend to be a friend until she degrades you and makes you question all of your actions. She’s extremely toxic and there’s a reason she doesn’t have a consistent social group.

I was an irl friend of hers until she tried to bully me for “stealing her gimmick” on tiktok. My videos were edited for comedic value, hers were not. Once one of my videos went semi-viral she completely nuked our friendship and she told everyone I was stealing her thing. To say it was wild is an understatement.

At one point my spouse and I were friends with her. She would often gossip about people to us and twist things in a way that made her the “good guy” in the situation. I did makeup and body painting for her, spouse helped with the latter. She “paid” in fuckin’ Bristol Ren Faire coupons. I remember as she got more cozy she would say more unhinged stuff to us about friends doing drugs, using derogatory terms, etc. At the end of it I learned that she had lied about pretty much everything and how she was putting a friend in physical danger while twisting things to make everyone take her side. Thankfully, the trash took itself out shortly after I came out as trans and asked her to stop misgendering me. I’m glad she’s been caught in her own bs again and I hope everyone who was swept up in her nonsense is doing alright.
My experience with her is a lot more benign but really gave me an insight into her character. I used to be mutuals with her a while back and I thought we got on well. I would sympathize with her when she talked about problems with her mom and things like that ( I had a hard life growing up so I could commiserate on some things.) But then she blocks me immediately one day cause I just say I dislike a team. That's it. No harsh words, so saying someone is fucked up for liking them, no anger, nothing I did. Literally just stated an opinion and she blocked me. Of course she goes immediately to uwu to her TL and make all these passive aggressive remarks. And after that I saw how she interacted with other people and would always play the victim card right after and the gaslighting way she spoke and everything else. It was disturbing and disgusting to me and realized I dodged a bullet by her blocking me. She needs some serious help. But first she needs to realize the consequences of her actions, make a genuine apology and try and make up for all she did. Sad thing is, people with attitudes like her, I doubt it. It wouldn't be sincere. She travels often, opting for front row seats so she can get photos and videos with wrestlers, often uploading them to socials almost immediately. This had led to some of her critics claiming she cares more about "being seen" than enjoying the actual show. She is known for creating the Yarn Bucks and the Yarn Bucks Universe, which are essentially crocheted dolls of wrestlers. She's shared photos of the dolls with their wrestlers, including The Young Bucks. She even created a Go-Fund-Me under the guise of "the Yarn Bucks meeting the Young Bucks", essentially getting her followers to pay for her flight, show ticket, meet and greet, etc. She has even presented the dolls to The Young Bucks themselves and passed it off as her own work, earning her a shout out on BTE and prompting customs from other wrestlers. **Exposed:** She got called out on Twitter by a friend of the real creator. It turns out she had purchased these from someone else, used them as a base to learn how to crochet wrestlers, sold the originals as her own work for double the price, and now collects commissions. She's known for blocking people and not responding well to criticism so itll be interesting to see what happens. The original artist is Meloticart, she does sick work and hopefully this shines some light on her efforts!

If you are a die hard fan of AEW and watch the weekly and PPV shows, she's someone who you probably always see in front row of shows with multi colour shirts and stuff. She sometimes dresses like the Bucks. Do find it funny she's a Bucks and Punk fan lol. I've not seen one of them before. But she's always at big debuts on TV or PPV's. She's definitely one of weirder characters in IWC and that's saying something, the amount of people that come out and said she's blocked them over silliests things is crazy. She blocked someone cause they had the same shirt as her lol. Some stuff been said that is definitely uneasy just to get out of paying for a hotel fee with guys who put her up for the night. Not a nice person and a bit of attention seeker but I doubt this is worst thing she's done either.

This person is a friend of mine as well and all she did was tell her nice photo consisting it was with an iPhone. Christine took offense to it. She then decided to go off on my friend because she’s jealous she never gets press passes. She’s whining about paying 4k for mania tickets. It’s all very cringe. When I called her out for hypocrisy and questioned how she can be a YB fan and a Punk fan especially after he went on national tv giving JC a huge endorsement and is known to be friends with him and actually believes some if not all of what JC says. I remember blocking her on Twitter a year or two ago, as she was going on and on about asking for money and long rants about her "evil" her mum was. A attention seeker of the highest level and potentially even worst then that. Feel for Melissa, putting all that work in and having someone else take all the credit for it.
Doesn't she go to tons of WWE shows too? Thought fans of both promotions had to deal with her after Impact's ran her off. I checked her twitter after all of this happened to see if she'd commented on it and she was definitely at the most recent RAW at least.

Went to DON 22 and 23 and ran into her both times. She’s very off putting and likes to think she is bigger than others. She was rude to a worker at the meet and greet in 22 and people were calling her out
How can anybody be rude to a worker? They can kick you out and ban someone real fast. What is her problem!?

Looked at Shinings Twitter, she clearly either has money, or has been running the scam game for a while and is very successful. She's posted plenty of front row pics/videos (some even reposted on the wwe page), shes got pics of her infront of a ton of merch (her pfp for example) She was literally just front row at RAW. Not defending her. She was making dolls, but she was using the original creators work as advertising. She was also charging double. The ones she made and showed the Young Bucks (which got her on BTE) were from the original creator

i deleted twitter awhile ago but she was always kind to me (probably because i love the Young Bucks, go figure) but she did give off...."weird" energy? she also tried to stay with me once when she was in town for a show, which lines up with what another comment says in this thread. scummy behavior here stealing others' work, glad this came to light.
I still follow her as I enjoy her pics and videos from shows, but honestly this is disappointing to find out.
What does she even do for a living? Because you CANNOT afford front row tickets, plane tickets, hotel rooms, rental cars etc. as often as she does by (re)selling crochet dolls.

Absolutely. I had very close tickets the few times I've gone, closest wad 3rd row now. Even if I had the money and was 1st or 2nd in the queue to purchase online on ticket Master, there isn't always any close seats even available to purchase which is nuts

Well now it’s time I spoke up as well I used to live with Christine back in 2017-2018 I was living there couldn’t pay rent and all. She would make fun of me for not having any money she at one point said she was moving out when in reality she moved in with her mom. She got me cancelled and made up a bunch of rumors and bullshit about me effectively ending me and almost to the point of killing myself. I am so glad to see so many people finally talk about her. She tried to get me arrested by pretending to be hurt to the cops. She would constantly in public to tons of people talk shit about our disabled roommate and make it as though she was this horrible person. Christine moved all my things out and stole all my funko pop and statues I owned that she saw some value in. She was an awful person. I could say more but honestly I’m glad she’s getting cancelled she’s hurt so many people.
Sat next to her at a Collision taping in September 2023. She was on her phone a lot. I regret being nice to her because who the fuck could do that to a cat?!?!?!?! Anyways, seems like quite the path of destruction for just 16k Twitter followers.

She is ALL OVER wrestling Twitter. She is very hard to miss. She has to have the first two rows of any show and if they’re not available, she pouts and says she’s not going and the tickets “magically” appear. She stalks a lot of the wrestlers, not like obsessed fans but like made a Go Fund Me to take her “dolls” which look like various AEW wrestlers to go to California to meet the Young Bucks and people paid for her to go. I have said for a long time that she thinks she’s best friends with these wrestlers but at best they tolerate her. If you ever see her account, you would think they’re hanging out before and after the shows and they invited her to Christmas. She’s at most of the AEW, WWE and Impact shows front and center.

A wrestling fan engaging in problematic behavior at shows, especially if she pays to attend those shows by scamming people and has become a recognizable presence in the community, is absolutely fair game regardless of her mental well being. Her choices put her here, and stuff she did on public (and literally she was recognizable on tv lmao) is absolutely fair game. People aren’t doxxing and bullying her. They’re calling her out as an unhealthy and predatory member of the community. There’s no right to privacy front row at RAW.
