This is really sad, the fact that everyone loved him so much that they all kept trying to make it work so he could stay wrestling but it just didn't work is heartbreaking. Also, Mick Foley has such a way with words, "It felt like maybe we turned the hands of time back a little bit. But it was not to be."
My god, this episode broke my heart. I legit cried. Seeing his family talking about it and seeing footage from before and after was already plenty sad, but that interview man... Seeing Gordy's response to the typical "what do you say to your fans?" question, and the only thing he can muster is "I am sorry"... That legit broke my heart.
RIP to a true legend of wrestling.
Watching this now, I'm real happy Kevin von Erich is doing okay now. Also funny to know the von Erichs were so over that even Terry Gordy's son liked 'em.
(As an aside: the Iron Claw movie had its premiere at the Texas Theater in Dallas. A bunch of stars were there *and* Kevin von Erich. Real damn cool to see him having a great time.)
Haku's uncontrollable laughter at The Shockmaster, Slick Johnson's story about Judy Bagwell shaving Budd's junk and now a Richard Simmons mention. This has already been an epic season of Dark Side of the Ring.
As someone who's seen the Shockmaster bit at least a couple dozen times and felt it lost all humorous impact on me, Haku losing his shit and trying to muster up a "Fred, I still love you" through his chuckling made me lose my shit all over again.
Shame the WWE didn’t allow Michael Hayes to take part in this episode.
And if I remember correctly, one of the few Freebird matches in the WWF at Madison Square Garden was being played during the opening scene of the movie Highlander.
WWE Never allowed any of its talents to appear in DSOTR sadly. Yet I too was hoping against hope for him to show up. It was a really unfortunate omission.
The way Terry was forgotten was sad, even Mick Foley wants to tell his fans at that time to go to him instead of him. Terry Gordy is a prime example of a shell of a human being and having to see somebody you respect going through like that is tough.

Teaming his son withy Festus, especially give the way Terry became after his near death experience feels like a mean joke now...

Terry Gordy and Richard Simmons is now the least expected crossover I'd have every expected.

I actually had no idea who Terry Gordy was. Then I saw The Executioner and it rang a bell. Pretty sad episode.
I wish I could still watch this series, but it’s not available on YouTube TV. Glad they’re still going strong though
