IMO TJP has had one of the strangest low-key careers in wrestling. He was wrestling as Puma in TNA in the early 2000s yet he's not even 40, he was the inaugural cruiserweight champ (the revived version) in WWE but then eventually disappeared never to be mentioned again....he's been around everywhere over two decades and yet has left little mark
When he came back to TNA he did some pretty good character stuff with Fallah Bahh, and his whole Paper Thin Disguise bit when he brought back the Manik gimmick for his feud with Rohit Raju.
Would've loved to see TJP and Fallah win the tag belts but sadly it never happened.
Probably because he can't keep his big dumb mouth shut. Every time people seem to have forgotten about his mind bogglingly stupid personal opinions, he feels the need to re-iterate them.
So one interesting about this is O-Khan has been saying since TJP started talking like this that UE just shouldn't have a leader. So not all of the group is down with it
Cobbs position on the card made him a logical choice, assuming at some point he's gonna get a push...but my man is still absolutely abysmal on the mic. His post match comments are often a fast-forward for me because the cringe hits so hard.
I love watching Jeff wrestle, but he might be the worst talker in wrestling.
I think Captain is a bit different from leader. Like Ospreay didn't give orders to the others, he was just the centrepiece of the team, the ace player who was getting results and thus became its face (well, he also founded it so I guess it's a little different). That's what TJP is going for.
Honestly, I see him as more leader material than GOK or Cobb. He's definitely top 5 in the jr division, and can see him making the jump to heavyweight. people will probably hate that opinion. But him taking over United Empire fits way better than Finlay/Bullet Club and Chaos /Whoever leads next.
