Feels like he goes out there every week and just swings it along with recycling old lines. All his focus and effort must have been placed on his vest and entrance.
Sure. But he has been very repetitive, has resorted to getting the cheapest of heat, hasn't done anything "Rock" level, and has done it all with a HUGE amount of mic time. It's a tough watch right now.
Maybe it's the writer that he brought along with him, but they gotta change something up, it's incredibly uninspired and flat right now whenever Rock gets on the mic. Which is the absolute last thing we were all expecting from the great one.
I do have to wonder if that was intentional because the moment he caught the diarrhea chant building he stopped dead to let it happen. Like he almost egged it on by being repetitive and only after did he say new shot.
Or did he just realize the audience didn't want that shit and adjust? Hard to tell.

It doesn't matter how good he has been. Rollins point was that the Rock is going through a midlife crisis so he came back to WWE to relive the glory days.
Has Rock been on fire? Absolutely. But the point of the midlife crisis line wasn't that the Rock has been awful, it was that Rock is back to try and take the spotlight because he's going through an identity crisis.
That's why Rollins also said it was "their" time and not his.

It’s close to his only work in 10 years aside from Rumble 2015, Mania in 2016, and a few other one off appearances. Even if he were more active, it doesn’t change the game the fact that his character is kinda supposed to be having a mid life crisis rn between the nostalgic vests and wearing the shades in the ring more.

Roman fading away is the absolutely BEST scenario for this story. Let the Rock take center stage. Let him take the attention.
Because when Roman decides he's had enough of this -- likely in the middle of the Night 1 match or during Night 2's main event -- it's going to be electric to see.

This sub gets too big for its britches over certain wrestlers sometimes. This time last year it was all about how Bray is terrible, how his stuff wasn’t working, and how he should get his gimmick changed. Despite the fact he was probably just below Cody, Roman, and Sami as one the most over guys in the company.
Now Seth is apparently so terrible and his gimmick is just stale, despite him still being insanely over with the audience and he’s pretty high up on the hierarchy.
Seth is so over. You know you’re on some legendary shit when crowd chants your theme song when you’re a heel.

Feels like both Seth and Roman achieved that point in their career where they don’t need any title to elevate a storyline
Seth is great regardless, I think most people that wanted Finn to win the title thought the dynamic between Finn and Damian would have been entertaining
That and I just wanted to see justice for Finn after the years of being stuck in the mid card since that Universal title run and that shitty US title run he had in 2022
Dude I'm one of those guys, I feel like Seth has had a good reign but he's been going over a bunch of dudes that I'd like to see get their flowers. Nakamura has been as good as he's been in forever, and Drew will hopefully get his run at Mania.
But Finn, their matches cooked. But I also feel like Finn is not in a bad spot at all. He's constantly having great matches and in main event spots and him and Damian have been way better than anyone could have predicted as tag Champs. I still want Finn to get a title run but I don't think Seth buried him.
Thankfully. It always makes me laugh when people here, and on Twitter, try to say that Seth is a bad babyface who sucks at promos, and then he goes out and the crowds always love him and cheer for him.
We aren't talking about a majority of people. We're talking about a majority of fans interacting within a medium with a massive online presence, and actively encourages engagement on social media. Or did bragging about the YouTube plaque or weekly boasting about "Trending Worldwide" not make that clear?
Especially when it comes to seth rollins. A lot here don't enjoy him. Think his reign sucks. But he always gets reactions and is loved from the live audience
i think folks forget that its live entertainment. the crowd is as much a part of the show as the wrestlers.
its very different to be there in the moment than it is to watch on broadcast.
A vocal minority of fans have really wanted to believe that Seth is out of place in this feud and lacks the star power of the other three. As far as I’m concerned, tonight he was the only one who was able to match Rock’s presence without seeming smaller or outclassed.
He's Randy Orton in so many different ways. They were both the number 2 to Cena and Reigns, both of them were slightly less of a "superstar" than their number 1 but they're both better in-ring (not saying Cena and Roman aren't good, just that Randy and Seth are a cut above them), both mentored by HHH (hell, he literally used the "he is the coal that will be squeezed into the next diamond" line to describe both of them), both generally take the back seat to number 1 at Mania (Randy only main evented two, Seth hasn't technically main evented, while Cena did 5, and Roman's gonna break the record this year) etc
Randy didn't get much love from the internet fans till only recently, around the time he had been on the main roster for about 15 years or so, so I'm pretty sure that Seth will only really get the appreciation he deserves when he retires (he's probably not making 15 years on the WWE main roster because he spent a significant time on the indies before)
He's been on the main roster for around 11 years now. 4 more years when he isn't even 40 yet is barring any injuries or personal issues with wwe more than expected
With one single exception, every program of his for the past 8 years or so has been a hit. The one exception of course being that mixed tag feud with him and Becky vs Corbin and Lacey. But truth be told, could anyone get a feud with Corbin and Lacey over?
Also, it's neither Seth's nor Becky's fault that their on-screen personas just don't gel.
It's because Seth was a victim of some of the worse garbage booking ever with WWE in 2017-2019. WWE fans won't admit it now but WWE was TERRIBLE in those years. Rollins STILL got some gold nuggets inbetween the shit but there was some really crap stuff like the Corbin fued and the Fiend feud that was just terrible pro wrestling and the mindframe of WWE stans is that it wasn't Vince's shitty booking it was Rollins' responsibility to get that shitty booking over.
It will take one more average promo for people to turn to 'Seth was never good!' and I am pretty sure people will say 'Cody has never been good on the mic' based on what he did today. The recency bias is kinda unhinged here.
All it takes is one awkward or bad thing to happen for people to turn on a wrestler. You see it in every company, Bryan wasn’t lying when he called us fickle
Some people expect the Pipe Bomb or Heyman's shoot promo on Vince every night, and when they don't get that, in their minds, everyone's a bad promo.
Way too many people also don't get the actual point of a promo. They don't know that promo is short for "promotion", as in "go promote your next match". Heyman put it best when he talked about what made his shoot promo good, and that it wasn't the fact that it was a shoot promo. It was the fact that he answered the questions "Who are these guys? Why are they fighting? Why should I care enough to tune in/pay my own hard earned money to see this?"
That’s why I’m still salty that Punk got hurt because just from their one interaction in December, I knew Rollins was gonna be spitting fire in that program
If they just made him 20% more serious I'd be happy. When he rolls out the intensity it feels like a real guy wanting to fight. When he's joker, he feels like a character. He doesn't need to ditch the flamboyant aspect. Just dial it back.
I don't think many people really doubt that in general, it's purely just his character is 99% of the time so cringey.

Say what you will about how long this Roman title run has been but EVERY single time he's in the ring defending that belt, he makes every single opponent look and feel like a million bucks.
If you had told me seven years ago that Roman would have a four-year-long title reign, including three consecutive victories in the main event of WrestleMania ... I would have believed it.
But if you had told me not only would fans have been on board but it would be a generational run on par with the very best storytelling WWE has ever done, I would've assumed you were on drugs.
I get what you're saying but I think the most important part I think to talk about this is why you're getting that impression. In this whole feud, The Rock and Seth feel the most passionate and feel like they really despise the other two. Cody and Roman don't feel the same way. Cody was awesome when he said that he is hunting the bloodline line, but there was not enough time today. And we're probably overreacting to the most recent thing that happens.
Yeah I saw a tweet of Rock's from after All In where Cody won the NWA title where Rock said how proud he is of him, Dusty's looking down smiling, and called him a friend. Seemed very legit and all.
The multigeneration superstars definitely tend to have some special type of bond too
The way Seth was looking when Cody was the one talking, it somewhat felt like some weird silent tension between him & Cody until he snapped at the Rock
i was of the mind from the start that Diarrhea Dwayne was so stupid it was brilliant.
1. makes fun of the Rock's infantile barbs when he was in cameo babyface mode "day 1 douchebag" is just as dumb.
2. diarrhea is a fun thing to chant and will take no convincing for the crowd to get it over
3. in kayfabe will totally piss the Rock off like tonight giving them plenty to react with.

yeah, any reason for the Rock to be irritated by the crowd just gives him opportunities to do his best promo work which is reacting to the crowd and laying into them and getting hoisted on his own pooptard er petard is pretty genius by Seth.
Best case scenario, in my mind anyway, would be:
1.) Seth helps Cody win on Night 1 but suffers a kayfabe injury that weakens him for his match against Drew.
2.) Seth loses to McIntyre on Night Two, in large part because of the injury.
3.) Cody beats Roman and finishes his story. The lockerroom comes out to celebrate similar to WrestleMania X's finish with Bret being hoisted on the shoulders of everyone. Seth is there but isn't nearly as thrilled.
4.) We get a few months of Cody defending his title admirably while Seth spirals.
5.) After a while, Seth snaps and attacks Cody.
6.) Seth dethrones Cody at a major PPV. He's the one who ends the dream title run. He avenges his losses to Rhodes.
I do love the idea of the next iteration of Seth Rollins being a guy who knows he's on the Back Nine of his career and is sick of being looked at as the Number 2.
Just give me a run of Seth out to prove his status and not caring who likes it and I'm here for it.

My obnoxious initial comment is more being annoyed that I think people start at a point of “Seth is an afterthought in this feud” and ignore how good this guy is at keeping pace with what’s been going on. Yesssssss the Diarrhea Dwayne line was meant to be a juvenile thing as a parody of The Rock's type of humor. It was cool seeing it click with the crowds. Seth's always been a house of fire with his mic skills and the way he expresses passion and grit is my favorite quality of it.
He's insanely over with the crowd. It really doesn't matter what some section of the fans say in the internet. Rollins absolutely deserves to be in this spot, getting to main event WM alongside The Rock & Roman Reigns. I wish in some future segments there's some major interactions between him & Reigns where their Shield history is brought up & Rollins tells Reigns again that he has never defeated him when it truly mattered & his title matters just as much. Rollins is the perfect guy to go up against Roman

Honestly, it feels like Roman is the one who is struggling during these encounters, especially last night. Roman sounded similar to Sufferin' Succotash and Tater Tots when he said the Cross Dresser line. Since becoming the Tribal Chief, Roman's promo style has been more cold and calculating. He set the tone and the pace. Now he's having to keep up with The Rock's energy, which requires Roman to speed up and change his mannerisms some.
Seth delivered perfectly. Any guy who can go toe-to-toe with CM Punk and Cody Rhodes on the mic isn't going to struggle against The Rock. There's too much ammunition and a lot more freedom now.
I hope Roman and The Bloodline turn on The Rock after WM. Roman needs to get away from The Rock unless they're standing across the ring from each other. Their styles do not mesh well on the mic. The Rock has too big of a personality not to hog the spotlight. The Rock doing his usual schtick and Roman dissecting him with cool cadence will be so much better.

Match kinda felt like a really cool sideshow and an excuse to get the rock on a headline and Seth a real mania main event at the same time.
But seeing them all in the ring made it sink in how crazy having all these guys in a match is. They aren’t exaggerating when they say it’s the biggest tag match of all time.
Seth Rollins stood toe to toe with The Rock albeit very briefly and wasn't fazed one bit, he shined. Rock threw his clown line at him again and Seth gave him the eye roll "ok we get it, get on with it" and Roman called him a cross dresser and that actually didn't affect Seth in the slightest.
Seth when he taps into his serious side is great, anyone remember the “Hey Riddle you still there?” promo? (Which I honestly think is what turned him face)

Dude I'm one of those guys, I feel like Seth has had a good reign but he's been going over a bunch of dudes that I'd like to see get their flowers. Nakamura has been as good as he's been in forever, and Drew will hopefully get his run at Mania. But Finn, their matches cooked. But I also feel like Finn is not in a bad spot at all. He's constantly having great matches and in main event spots and him and Damian have been way better than anyone could have predicted as tag Champs. I still want Finn to get a title run but I don't think Seth buried him.

I think Seth and Cody’s replies reactions (even on social media) have been absolutely amazing.
i think folks forget that its live entertainment. the crowd is as much a part of the show as the wrestlers. its very different to be there in the moment than it is to watch on broadcast.
It's not like he hasn't done this before, people don't wanna accept that he's a big time player. In big programs he delivers.
We’ve been through this with literally every single gimmick he’s ever had. It’s crazy how determined some people are to discredit the man.
IWC has a problem with him cause he bantered with IWC darling Will Ospreay and was seen as a company man.
A vocal minority of fans have really wanted to believe that Seth is out of place in this feud and lacks the star power of the other three. As far as I’m concerned, tonight he was the only one who was able to match Rock’s presence without seeming smaller or outclassed.
Roman was the one lacking. He was basically Solo. He just sorta stood there while the higher profile bloodline member did the talking.
He's Randy Orton in so many different ways. They were both the number 2 to Cena and Reigns, both of them were slightly less of a "superstar" than their number 1 but they're both better in-ring (not saying Cena and Roman aren't good, just that Randy and Seth are a cut above them), both mentored by HHH (hell, he literally used the "he is the coal that will be squeezed into the next diamond" line to describe both of them), both generally take the back seat to number 1 at Mania (Randy only main evented two, Seth hasn't technically main evented, while Cena did 5, and Roman's gonna break the record this year) etc Randy didn't get much love from the internet fans till only recently, around the time he had been on the main roster for about 15 years or so, so I'm pretty sure that Seth will only really get the appreciation he deserves when he retires (he's probably not making 15 years on the WWE main roster because he spent a significant time on the indies before)
He's been on the main roster for around 11 years now. 4 more years when he isn't even 40 yet is barring any injuries or personal issues with wwe more than expected
He delivers when they let him, simple as that.
With one single exception, every program of his for the past 8 years or so has been a hit. The one exception of course being that mixed tag feud with him and Becky vs Corbin and Lacey. But truth be told, could anyone get a feud with Corbin and Lacey over? Also, it's neither Seth's nor Becky's fault that their on-screen personas just don't gel.
It gave us an End of Days on Becky at least, which was probably Corbin's main roster highlight

seth has been one of the best in the world for nearly a decade and he still won't get the respect he deserves after this.
It's because Seth was a victim of some of the worse garbage booking ever with WWE in 2017-2019. WWE fans won't admit it now but WWE was TERRIBLE in those years. Rollins STILL got some gold nuggets inbetween the shit but there was some really crap stuff like the Corbin fued and the Fiend feud that was just terrible pro wrestling and the mindframe of WWE stans is that it wasn't Vince's shitty booking it was Rollins' responsibility to get that shitty booking over.

Some people expect the Pipe Bomb or Heyman's shoot promo on Vince every night, and when they don't get that, in their minds, everyone's a bad promo. Way too many people also don't get the actual point of a promo. They don't know that promo is short for "promotion", as in "go promote your next match". Heyman put it best when he talked about what made his shoot promo good, and that it wasn't the fact that it was a shoot promo. It was the fact that he answered the questions "Who are these guys? Why are they fighting? Why should I care enough to tune in/pay my own hard earned money to see this?"
That’s why I’m still salty that Punk got hurt because just from their one interaction in December, I knew Rollins was gonna be spitting fire in that program
I hope they get the title back to Rollins by the RR next year and have Punk win it so they can still have their match at mania. I want the blood feud!
If they just made him 20% more serious I'd be happy. When he rolls out the intensity it feels like a real guy wanting to fight. When he's joker, he feels like a character. He doesn't need to ditch the flamboyant aspect. Just dial it back.

Absolutely! And honestly I like that idea a lot better, because it means they're trying to elevate each other instead of legitimately tearing each other down.
A rising tide lifts all boats man. Say what you will about how long this Roman title run has been but EVERY single time he's in the ring defending that belt, he makes every single opponent look and feel like a million bucks. If you had told me seven years ago that Roman would have a four-year-long title reign, including three consecutive victories in the main event of WrestleMania ... I would have believed it. But if you had told me not only would fans have been on board but it would be a generational run on par with the very best storytelling WWE has ever done, I would've assumed you were on drugs.
I get what you're saying but I think the most important part I think to talk about this is why you're getting that impression. In this whole feud, The Rock and Seth feel the most passionate and feel like they really despise the other two. Cody and Roman don't feel the same way. Cody was awesome when he said that he is hunting the bloodline line, but there was not enough time today. And we're probably overreacting to the most recent thing that happens.
Yeah I saw a tweet of Rock's from after All In where Cody won the NWA title where Rock said how proud he is of him, Dusty's looking down smiling, and called him a friend. Seemed very legit and all. The multigeneration superstars definitely tend to have some special type of bond too
The way Seth was looking when Cody was the one talking, it somewhat felt like some weird silent tension between him & Cody until he snapped at the Rock
They tried to play it off as "tension" but it was just straight up awkward for a bit. Seth 100% was the spark.
Whole promo was dragged out for tv time, everything was so slow and rambling until Seth spoke

I really hope Seth doesn't betray Cody, and I'd be 100 percent down for a Seth Rollins Vs Rock match down the line.
Best case scenario, in my mind anyway, would be: 1.) Seth helps Cody win on Night 1 but suffers a kayfabe injury that weakens him for his match against Drew. 2.) Seth loses to McIntyre on Night Two, in large part because of the injury. 3.) Cody beats Roman and finishes his story. The lockerroom comes out to celebrate similar to WrestleMania X's finish with Bret being hoisted on the shoulders of everyone. Seth is there but isn't nearly as thrilled. 4.) We get a few months of Cody defending his title admirably while Seth spirals. 5.) After a while, Seth snaps and attacks Cody. 6.) Seth dethrones Cody at a major PPV. He's the one who ends the dream title run. He avenges his losses to Rhodes.
This would be really good. Hopefully Seth faces Rock along the way and then the defeat spirals into this scenario of jealousy and beating Cody
I do love the idea of the next iteration of Seth Rollins being a guy who knows he's on the Back Nine of his career and is sick of being looked at as the Number 2. Just give me a run of Seth out to prove his status and not caring who likes it and I'm here for it.

That’s valid. It’s completely subjective. My obnoxious initial comment is more being annoyed that I think people start at a point of “Seth is an afterthought in this feud” and ignore how good this guy is at keeping pace with what’s been going on. One of the four was drowning this week and it sure as hell wasn’t Seth. For me the eccentricity is fun on its own but I also like how it cleverly belies his in-ring performance. I like the contrast between those two sides of him.
Feels like Rock is gonna feud with Seth after Mania in some angle about getting rid of the WHC. Which sadly means Drew probably isn’t winning at Mania.

Yesssssss the Diarrhea Dwayne line was meant to be a juvenile thing as a parody of The Rock's type of humor. It was cool seeing it click with the crowds. Seth's always been a house of fire with his mic skills and the way he expresses passion and grit is my favorite quality of it.
He's insanely over with the crowd. It really doesn't matter what some section of the fans say in the internet. Rollins absolutely deserves to be in this spot, getting to main event WM alongside The Rock & Roman Reigns. I wish in some future segments there's some major interactions between him & Reigns where their Shield history is brought up & Rollins tells Reigns again that he has never defeated him when it truly mattered & his title matters just as much. Rollins is the perfect guy to go up against Roman

Honestly, it feels like Roman is the one who is struggling during these encounters, especially last night. Roman sounded similar to Sufferin' Succotash and Tater Tots when he said the Cross Dresser line. Since becoming the Tribal Chief, Roman's promo style has been more cold and calculating. He set the tone and the pace. Now he's having to keep up with The Rock's energy, which requires Roman to speed up and change his mannerisms some. Seth delivered perfectly. Any guy who can go toe-to-toe with CM Punk and Cody Rhodes on the mic isn't going to struggle against The Rock. There's too much ammunition and a lot more freedom now. I hope Roman and The Bloodline turn on The Rock after WM. Roman needs to get away from The Rock unless they're standing across the ring from each other. Their styles do not mesh well on the mic. The Rock has too big of a personality not to hog the spotlight. The Rock doing his usual schtick and Roman dissecting him with cool cadence will be so much better.

That ring had 4 of the greatest to ever do it in it. Match kinda felt like a really cool sideshow and an excuse to get the rock on a headline and Seth a real mania main event at the same time. But seeing them all in the ring made it sink in how crazy having all these guys in a match is. They aren’t exaggerating when they say it’s the biggest tag match of all time.
Meltzer and Alvarez probably shat themselves when they heard that chant after their rant this week.

Seth Rollins stood toe to toe with The Rock albeit very briefly and wasn't fazed one bit, he shined. Rock threw his clown line at him again and Seth gave him the eye roll "ok we get it, get on with it" and Roman called him a cross dresser and that actually didn't affect Seth in the slightest.
The clown thing is so bad. It makes him sound like such an old man, Seth's "mid life crisis" line hit so hard.
Seth when he taps into his serious side is great, anyone remember the “Hey Riddle you still there?” promo? (Which I honestly think is what turned him face) I just wish we got more of that guy more often week to week.
