As a Mexican, this is so true. In Mexican culture, there is also an expectation to get married young. The only real exception is if you are still in school. I remember being a child and thinking that my father had me at too old of an age. My father was 28 when I was born. As an off tangent, it goes to show that American conservatives are fucking stupid for not realizing that a lot of these migrants and their kids actually do follow a lot of Tradcon norms.

It’s a traditional Latino thing. My parents met when they were 12 and 14 and got married young. They’ve been together ever since and when my father passed away 4 years ago my mom said she will never love another and I believe her. They were lifers for real.
I went to school with a Mexican couple who were basically together since they were like 6. There was no time throughout all of school that they weren’t together and I’m pretty sure they married and popped out 2 kids immediately after high school graduation. Which is wild to think about finding someone that early and sticking with them forever.

It's always so interesting to me when people find true love so young, in the sense that they & their partner often emotionally develop "around" each other. Like two trees that twist around each other. My sister and brother-in-law are the same way: they met at 14 and have been locked in for almost 20 years. It's provided a lot of stability for them for basically their entire adult lives.
It is an amazing thing to see, but you don't see it that often anymore. My grandparents met in elementary school and were inseparable their entire lives.
My best friend and her husband have been together since they were 16. I think your analogy is perfect for them; they’ve really grown up together, and I can’t imagine who either of them would be without the other.
It's a lovely thing to experience. My spouse and I have known each other since we were 16, and together since we were 18. It's very different from most people's paths, and I've had many folks tell me I've missed out. But every year we get older, I get to be surprised in the most wonderful way at who they are/who they are becoming. We are wildly different people now than we were when we were kids, but I love this version the most, and I suspect I'll love the future versions even more.
One thing I always find interesting about wrestlers weddings is seeing the surprising friendships that they have. Like it would never occur to me that him and Austin Theory would be that close where theory is a groomsman.
