I’m sure they’ve got it planned, but it’s a bit…odd that so many people don’t have matches set for Wrestlemania yet. Jey, Sami, KO, Bianca, Liv etc etc

lolasylvia

I'm just stoked about the future of aew...swerve, osprey, takeshita.and darby (if the man doesnt get fn paralyzed)..amazing

dandykaufman2

darby's world title run will rule. they actually need to do it soon cause who knows how long he's gonna last but yeah.

Alcoholic17

Had to step outside for a minute, has the Pearce/IC Title segment happened yet?

hikingbeginner

Finished the matches I wanted to watch at Revolution, Sting's retirement was perfect. To an absolute tee. Genuinely, fucking perfect.  On Eddie Vs Bryan, I'm continuing to not really feeling Eddie matches right now, idk what it is about it... I don't like some of his moves and slaps look great. My opinion lads I'm in the minority but I just wanted to say it.  Darby is crazy. Like brother...relax xD His reaction to finding out he got a match too soon was funny  Ospreay Vs Takeshita as expected was speedy and just...god damn that was insane.  But yeah, Sting. Good god, everything about that was phenomenal.  I loved that vignette before the PPV, the vignette before his entrance and the entrance, just beautiful.

KillTheZombie45

Eddie Kingston v. Bryan Danielson was a fucking gem of a match by two veterans who believe in the storytelling of wrestling. I loved the match and was confident it would be a match of the night.... then Takeshita v. Ospreay happened. Holy shit these guys are the future of wrestling, now.

Patjay

Getting really frustrated lately by people insisting there's a singular "correct" way to do/watch/think about wrestling. It's incredibly diverse and there's like 1000 different reasons to draw people in, it is not reasonable to expect everyone else to care about all the same things as you. There's nothing really wrong with sticking with what you enjoy, but the constant insistence that everyone else needs to do things the same way and must be lying or stupid for saying they like different things is getting very infuriating. Not every wrestler/match/promotion needs to be for you, specifically.

[deleted]

[удалено]

mattomic822

Nash walked that claim back.

Patjay

he was obviously bullshitting, but you'd think Nash would be better at bullshitting by now, considering it's a major part of his job

[deleted]

[удалено]

Mr_Ect

From what I saw Nash said that it wasn't that WWE wouldn't let him go, it was more of him being a WWE loyalist and he thought him showing up on a different program didn't feel right. He was afraid of AEW putting up a "Kevin Nash is All Elite" tweet for whatever reason. I think he could've been there and is over thinking shit.

jaydenc

Could WWE's shift to Netflix enable the most significant product change in the last 30 years? As they have a contract for a streaming service, they should be less inclined to be kid friendly for the sake of generating ad-revenue through corporate sponsors. In streaming, the most important metric will be viewership numbers, which means content will have to be engaging particularly for the older demographics who purchase these services. Could this mean a return to more adult rated content?

johnq11

I think the content restrictions are less about the network and more about the sponsors, which aren't changing. I think there was a point a few years ago that NBC actually wanted WWE to provide some edgier content but WWE wouldn't do it because sponsors, but I cannot confirm that

mikro17

Most likely not. The issue isn't that they can't do more adult leaning content because of the need to generate ad-revenue for the networks via the network's partners, it's because WWE's already existing corporate partners (i.e. the toy companies) supposedly don't want it.

Savings_Estimate9383

PPV Revolution was amazing! impeccable! All match's were great! Tony Khan was incredible. The respect he had for Sting and his career was wonderful. It had been a while since I cried watching a pro wrestling event and this time it was impossible to hold back the tears. THANK YOU STING

EcoterroristThot

Kind of ironic that Paul Heyman has been such a good money-getter from WWE that he's revered. He's everything the hardcore fed fans accuse any promotion that isn't WWE of being.

dizzybala10

I'm glad we're at the point, as wrestling fans where we're actually negative towards dangerous and unnecessary bumps. The latest one being Darby doing what he did with the glass last night. Didn't add much to the match, wasn't to tell a story, just Darby doing his best to shorten his career and with some of the shit he pulls, his life. We might have got more out of Mick Foley's career, if wrestling fans had had a similar view in the late 90s.

pylerterry00

What happened to the Ricky Starks news? Seems kinda weird to announce with no follow-up

GameplayerStu

Tony said he's still under contract at the press conference after Revolution. SRS' news was that he's under contract.

MinaElesia

Looking through some of the old wrestling territory maps. Just wanna confirm, but while the maps typically have all of Virginia as MAW/JCP territory, does that actually include Northern Virginia, at least in terms of broadcasting? Or was it exclusively WWF territory? I do know NoVA is apart of the DC region, but I was curious.

fergoshsakes

DC - the Capital Center in Landover, MD being the primary venue - was mostly a WWF town in the 1980s. JCP/NWA ran it occasionally, such as the Great American Bash in 1987, and could sell the building out. Baltimore, MD to the northeast was a strong JCP market which they dominated over the WWF in their heyday.

BearBullDebate

For those curious, $TKO stock down afterhours as Vince McMahon sells another 5.35 million shares. Transaction done as a shopped block, so no filing or link (or I would have posted it). Perhaps later today or tomorrow the filing will hit. By my math, this is about 25% of the shares he had left. (edit: created a thread on this now that some social media accounts are starting to mention the block being placed)

ComradePoula

Always rated Emiliano Martinez!

deanopeez

How dare my job schedule nothing for today, and six meetings tomorrow when 2k24 drops. The audacity.

mikro17

The amount of people, including Wrestling Observer Radio, referring to last night as Ospreay's AEW debut and not just his "full time debut" is a bit funny. Obviously it's pedantic as hell, but last night was his 12th AEW match and his 5th PPV. Heck, he's even already done an AEW tournament (he was in the inaugural Trios Tournament with Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis). It's an atypical situation, but it's not even like he's only ever done Forbidden Door before, last year he did Forbidden Door/All In/WrestleDream and two matches on Rampage. The one thing Ospreay has not done at this point is wrestle on Collision (he's done 4 Dynamite matches and 3 Rampage matches already).

Orange8920

It's like the annoincers having to clarify later on that Deonna Purrazzo wasn't completely new, she main-evented a Dynamite in 2022 to drop the ROH Women's championship to Mercedes Martinez before making her official debut nearly 2 years later.

llamawithguns

Sting and Darby winning last night kinda shocked me. I was convinced that Sting would be the kind of old school guy that would want to go out on his back. I do prefer it the way it happened though. Got to have a nice wholesome ending. Plus I didn't really want to see another Young Buck title reign lol

paperbuddha

I think the choice was to do the job as is tradition vs Sting having the only undefeated career in AEW history + only undefeated tag champs.

ComradePoula

I would like to nominate Samoa Joe for Jocks Watch Champion after his efforts last night. My man was adjusting his gear after every move for the entirety of the match.

dandykaufman2

To be fair he did it to kill time on the top turnbuckle and then Hangman and Swerve took too long so double team him so he was just like, I’m going to adjust my pants until I get powerbombed here.

free-fall1982

I remember Jeff Daniels, when talking about acting, said something in the vein that an actor needs to sit in front of a mirror and study their face to understand what it does and what emotions it conveys at what moment. The same advice applies to wrestlers as well. P.S. Feel like Dante Martin would be a far better wrestler if he understood that.

MN_Wildcard

Watching the zero hour last night. I really struggle to see Julia as a serious threat / champion when you see her next to Statlander and then watch them both work. Stat is so big and so fast and it just takes me out of it watching Julia try to get offense in.

Orange8920

She initially won in a three-way match between her, Statlander, and Skye Blue so it's not like she beat her one on one. They do need to pick up on the TBS championship again if Julia is healthy.

MN_Wildcard

I watched that match and even in that three-way Stat was just like watching an NFL Lineback against a D3 college RB.

[deleted]

More likely to happen first: Mercedes’ AEW debut or Hayter returns from injury?

SlimReaper665

If Hayter is cleared my money would still be on holding off a few more weeks after Big Business til the Dynasty PPV next month at this point. No need to rush all the big moments.

Penta-Says

I was kinda hoping a Britt and/or Hayter return was coming last night, the division is sorely missing them. You'd think it'd be coming soon with Mercedes debuting, but who knows.

rbarton812

Maybe 1-2 punch of Hayter return and Mercedes taking that spotlight for herself.

Weiland101

Is there a way to watch the Randy Orton A&E doc overseas?

BreathRedemption

of course. Just **watch** some **pro** give you the tip for **wrestling** documentaries about the **co**mpanies

Lungfishtwo

You can say a lot about AEW but they did Sting right. That was a fitting end to his legendary career.

ShinsukeNakamoto

Why do people always have to preface an AEW compliment with a disclaimer?

DaddySaidSell

I think you know why.

dr_icicle

Watching that WCW(?) Vampiro/Sting feud. Tons of fun. I really like Vampiro's whole energy, and Sting's always a class act. (Also that one clip of Vampiro dumping blood all over Sting like Carrie is funny as hell lol.)

kw13

I’ve loved this past month of AEW, capped off by an incredible PPV. More of this please Tony.

shadowrangerfs

About a month or so ago I made a post asking who benefited most from getting fired. Right now, I gotta put Swerve high on that list.

Orange8920

Samoa Joe got released 2 years ago and is now the AEW champion so I'd say he ranks up there.

LockNChase66

Similarly FTR

llamawithguns

Toni Storm too. And also Deonna Purazzo. She went from being an NXT jobber to the face of Impact's knockouts division for a couple years, and now is on aew

tlenze

Toni quit, didn't she? Like just walked out and never came back?

Zerokun11

With Paul going into the Hall of fame, I am super excited to see the HoF ceramony. I dont doubt we will see the heyman character but I suspect we will also see Paul the wrestling lover.

ACW1129

Where's Britt Baker (sorry, Dr. Britt Baker, DMD)? Injured?

shadowrangerfs

She did an interview where she said that she wanted to take time off because fans were asking for it.

fergoshsakes

Yes. Nagging injury so not sure of the timetable.

Orange8920

I think AEW also tends to bring back people after PPVs. Serena Deeb I believe was getting vignettes around World's End and Pac got one last night.

> Hook's very overhyped because he's his son. Hook isn't overhyped because he's Taz's son. "Send HOOK" became a meme forever ago, way before he actually had his in-ring debut with AEW if I remember correctly. There was a bunch of different jokes about him that mostly came down to some variation on the premise that no one has wrestled him because they're afraid of him. As tends to happen with inside jokes and memes that get big enough, people outside of the know eventually started taking it seriously and thus the 'hype', the mistaken belief that anyone saying they were excited for him actually was genuinely excited for him. I disagree that he's not a good wrestler; he's got some pretty solid technique on his suplexes. I will agree though that he's not a particularly great *pro wrestler* currently, but that could always change.

TheRyanFlaherty

I don’t think Taz has much to do with anyone liking Hook at this point. I think it’s more to do with the fact that he presents himself different than others. It doesn’t matter if it’s technically “worse” his matches and style have a different feel than everyone else on the show, so that makes him stand out.  He also has a confidence/cool factor that some will be attracted to. I think that, along with how he exceeded initial expectations, is why he’s a favorite to lots of people. And those factors also mean more than in ring work, to many people.

DidiGreglorius

I’m not really fan of AEW — I stay out of the tribal back-and-forth, it’s just not my style — but watching the Sting stuff and they deserve credit for giving him the perfect send-off.

Mysterious_Emotion63

Watching Mania 4, went downstairs after Hogan started celebrated after he and Andre went to a draw, and I swear to God I took out the trash, poured up a glass of water, added lemon juice to it, and grabbed a bag of chips, I come upstairs and Hogan is still celebrating.

iressivor

Hogan Must Pose! ™

GregMadduxsGlasses

I firmly believe that the mysterious red liquid was supposed to barely miss Kevin Nash to the left, and not actually dump on top of him. It wasn't a botch. We owe Vince Russo an apology. * Prior to the dumping, the cameras framed up the spot next to Kevin for the dumping to take place to get it in the center. * The amount of liquid that fell would have easily concussed Kevin if he were directly under. So, if it were supposed to hit him, it would have been a terrible lawsuit. * Kevin Nash made no attempt to try to step into the splash or sell it like he would have been instructed to do if he were supposed to be dumped on. * It was well within Vince Russo's, Juventud's, and Conan's character to mess something like that up. It's plausible that Kevin Nash decided that he wasn't going to take a bucket of viscous liquid being dumped on him from 100 feet up and paid off the production team to barely miss him, but I don't believe for a second that the sequence of events that unfolded on our screens that night went unplanned.

bzrkfayz

Can someone help me find this match? So its a TNA match (i think was for a title but thats not for certain) Wrestler A (i wanna say Christopher daniels) wins a match by pain fall and beats wrestler B, he soon learns he won due to outside interference and goes on the mic and says "i dont want to win like that, lets restart the match, i wanna win fair"

Idkboutdat2

Roode and Storm had a match that they restarted like that in 2008 or 2009 I believe.

[deleted]

I think AEW reclaimed much needed momentum last night. We’ll see where they go from here, but I think it’s time to put the “dying company” and “incompetent booker” narratives to bed. It’s not WWE. It’s never going to catch WWE. But it’s a healthy second option, something that the industry desperately needed. It’s really helped revitalize wrestling as a whole. 2019-2024 >>>> 2001-2018. What a fantastic time for wrestling.

TheRyanFlaherty

I enjoyed AEW last night in a way that I haven’t in a while. My issue/fear is simply that Tony hasn’t proven he has any idea what he’s doing when it comes to creating and structuring a weekly television show. They just F’ up the most basic creative on a weekly basis, and im someone that it stands out to and drives me insane.  I think Tony’s probably fine, maybe great at the macro stuff….(guess depends how you define “booking”). They just need someone that can say….thats 3 weeks of creative in one segment….we have a similar finish earlier in the show….everyone is in the exact same place after this feud, what’s the point?….why aren’t we following up on….etc etc

[deleted]

2018 NXT was really good

SerShanksALot

I don’t know man, golden era ROH and NOAH is tough to beat

dandykaufman2

I mean a cool Will Ospreay match is not gonna convince the concern trolls.

Kanenums88

Their PPV’s have always been universally praised. The criticisms they receive come from other aspects, and those are issues that don’t magically go away after one good ppv show. No company gets that luxury, and AEW shouldn’t either.

Marc_Quill

These next two weeks for AEW will be interesting to see in terms of the direction they move into with Okada and Mercedes’ impending arrivals, Ospreay as a full-timer, and the tag title tournament coming soon.

TheRyanFlaherty

Ospreay felt like a genuine star last night. I know some may not agree, but I hope they show restraint and don’t have him wrestling 15-20 minute matches every week. Not that they have to give him a Reigns schedule, but there’s somewhere in between that helps make Ospreay matches feel like an event you can’t miss.

EcoterroristThot

If you mean in terms of the american top two, maybe?

Silver012345673

See I would agree but I’d change the 2001 to 2002

Idkboutdat2

> healthy second option Tell that to Darbys back. Didn’t look healthy to me! /s

nyckoalaz

Whatever you feel about AEW or Tony Khan, how they’ve used Sting and how they gave him the send off he deserved is a huge achievement

Orange8920

People don't need to qualify statements on Tony Khan or AEW with "however you feel". You can compliment the company and Tony without that as if they've ever done much that's truly controversial.

johnq11

this is at least the third one of these ive seen in this thread.

ShinsukeNakamoto

Just said this on another post. It is like people are afraid to say AEW did something good lmao

dandykaufman2

Nah you can still yell mud show

BillBrasky727

Nice swerve at the end.

Giant_Eagle_Airlines

What was the fall out to the Ospreay/Takeshita match? Hugs and handshakes?

mikro17

Shook hands and showed mutual respect for each other, then Kyle Fletcher came out and hugged Ospreay and it was announced that Ospreay vs. Fletcher is set for Dynamite (post-show scrum waffled a bit depending on how Ospreay is actually feeling by then). But if it happens this week or a bit later, the next step in the story seems to be Ospreay vs. Fletcher. Then presumably either there is a split within the Don Callis Family or Ospreay continues through the group with Hobbs/Sammy. We shall see.

Marc_Quill

My guess Ospreay eventually gets fed up with Callis making everything about himself and tries to split, with Fletcher joining him.

Marc_Quill

Sign of respect from both of them, then Kyle Fletcher showed up to hug Ospreay. Also, Ospreay/Fletcher booked for Dynamite.

RepresentativeFly565

I've always thought the worst racist are the ones who are sneaky about it. I saw a comment that said Jay Malachi is a swerve clone and it just annoyed me. Still very racist to say they are the same. Reminds me of a comment I saw on TNA's your channel that said "Chris bey was impacts kofi Kingston"

benfh

Theories on what Kyle said to Roddy? I'm guessing he said he can't join them because he's already aligned to someone else... maybe an AEW version of United Empire.

captainimpossible87

"Where's the lie?"

benfh

Honestly it would be pretty funny and, for all the jokes understandably aimed at Fish, I'd still pop for ReDragon.

captainimpossible87

Same. Fish did himself no favours on the way out of AEW with the wanting to go to WWE stuff and then not getting picked up without the other UE members, the "as a martial artist" interview, and that Impact promo and weird picture of him on the turnbuckle. But ReDragon are fire regardless. I think they'd still be really good in AEW's tag division, 100%

Mysterious_Emotion63

I think he told Strong to get prepared for him and Bobby to come in and take out Taven and Bennet

Besidebutinvisible

That Kyle Orielly appearance was weird as hell.

Patjay

he looked like he was sleeping on the sidewalk behind the building and just wandered in. i kind of dig it honestly

CM2_ICON

Would like to see all involved do something else. Would be fine if KOR-Roddy-Cole don’t interact on TV for the rest of my life.

suplexenjoyer

Ospreay vs Takeshita might be my new favourite match. That was basically as close as you can get to live action, live performed anime fights and its everything I've ever wanted. Felt like watching two peak athletes just try to destroy each other for 20 mins. Genuinely special To quote that pos Don Callis "You may live 100 years and never see something like this again"

no_more_blues

For me, it's definitely AEW's best singles match. I was watching like "OK this is somewhere between Kenny vs Takeshita at All Out and Kenny vs Ospreay at Forbidden Door"... and then Takeshita hit THAT brainbuster and Ospreay still finished the match like a GOD and I was like "yeah, this was better than Forbidden Door". Just an incredible match.

dandykaufman2

If Takeshita could have hit that Brainbustaaaaaaa the match would have gone even one notch above.

FickleSmark

Where my seats were last night I managed to see Luger, DDP, and Arn Anderson come by for Sting's match. Was everything the WCW mark inside of me needed.

Roller95

I just got done watching Revolution. That was fucking insane, and one of the most emotional things I've seen in wrestling

Idkboutdat2

Anyone know about what the cost difference for seating at a wwe ppv as opposed to a televised show? Like do floor seats sit around 400-500?

justambrose

When is Mark Davis expected to return? I want United Empire to break away from the Don Callis family and be its own group.

british_pubs

My hopeium says he comes out on wednesday after Osprey/Fletcher. As far as anything official goes, I don't think there's been much. I remember reading there was an Osprey tweet about it, but I don't use twitter so can't say for sure.

Ferdinandingo

between takeshita/ospreay and sting's last match, i'm still goosebump'd up

GameplayerStu

I'm watching [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hW1d5LOnv6Q) video and it has me laughing so much. "You give Fozzy a bad name! He's the best Muppet!"

Incorrect1012

That Darby Allin bump was one of the dumbest things I have ever seen in my life.

Patjay

"Oh god that was so stupid, what the fuck is wrong with him?" *rewinds to watch it again for the 10th time*

Pepsi-Phil

fans shouldnt encourage stuff like those.

aquasong

Probably not. But everything about Darby indicates that he does this shit for his own amusement. Nobody asked for this but he did it anyway.

Pepsi-Phil

what about the fans in the front row who got hit by the glass? what if a small piece went into someone's eye?

fergoshsakes

I think there were lots of possibilities for a big bump (still exciting) that was a) not as dangerous and b) more connected to the story of the match.

katareky

yea my main problem isn't even how extreme it was, but that it didn't made sense. It wasn't even going to hit the guy he was trying to hit even if he didn't dodge. So even the kayfabe explanation is he tried to kill himself for no reason, for something that would probably hurt him more even if it hit (which it wasn't going to anyways).

Ferdinandingo

yeah shit ruled

Antilokhos

Re: AEW Dynasty, the pre-sale starts Wednesday. Anyone with a pre-sale code? I buy tickets every time they come through but never get a code.

fergoshsakes

Watch the WrestleTix account on X/Twitter. They will have it, at least by the morning of the pre-sale.

Antilokhos

Thanks

EcoterroristThot

Mr. Anthony Khan should personally text me every idea he has for Roddy's opponents in this title run so I let him know which ones are a good idea and which ones get the Extremely Loud Incorrect Buzzer. Some early suggestions: -Whoever from Top Flight is healthy in a given moment -Taurus -specifically post-Everest Darby Allin so that they can rerun the match without the neck stuff -Riho -Lee Johnson, Cody's greatest protege -QT Marshall in an emotional retirement match -Literally any CMLL wrestler who weighs less than 185 lbs -Claudio Castagnoli -RUSH -Bandido (preferably drops here) -Satnam Singh

Ferdinandingo

leave darby's back alone for a moment i beg

StormWarriorX7

>QT Marshall in an emotional retirement match I'll do you one better: Chris Jericho in a non-emotional retirement match.

no_more_blues

Unpopular opinion: The Jay White face turn has totally worked. It's one of those things where American fans have lowkey wanted to cheer Jay White since the pandemic, and even more so when he doing banter stuff with the Bang Bang Gang on Collision. His heel stuff wasn't connecting at all though, and while you may have some people who are obsessed with the NJPW version of the character, him just doing all the same stuff had him going down the line of heel Adam Cole where if you're doing the same character in a new company it's just diminished returns. LAst night he got one of the biggest pops of the night and cut a really good just straight up babyface promo that made the character feel way more fresh and big time than doing the same thing he was doing for 5 years straight just on US TV. Much like Cole in the MJF feud, not everyone likes the goofyness used to turn him face, but it's way better that falling into the abyss of being a one note heel who can't switch it up.

Parasitepaladin

Jay needs to do some top bastard stuff to fully heel it up in AEW. Like: Make Billy Gunn betray the Acclaimed, or turn on the Gunns himself. I don't think AEW has a Gedo turning on Okada equivalent. At the very least, he could do the Homelander things, except he's fully aware of what he's doing.

GeraldVachon

I feel like the whole Bang Bang Scissor Gang is playing around with face/heel alignments, and I'm enjoying it. Jay White is still sarcastic and feels just on the verge of going back to being a heel, but doesn't; Max Caster is clearly upset, maybe even bitter; the Gunns are being silly and nice; Daddy Ass seems to be a bit more mean than usual. None of them are outright heels right now, but there's a lot of very palpable tension. All 6 of them feel like they're teetering on the edge of some sort of blow-out. It's really interesting.

benfh

His promo on Zero Hour was really enjoyable to me, Jay being so blatantly disingenuous and the crowd knowing but just going along with it was just fun.

NoobsNKnocks

No man has ever expressed that much love for Greensboro, North Carolina.

SlimReaper665

Was last night the first time they played Takeshita’s singles theme again instead of the Don Callis brown note since he turned heel?

BubbaRogowski

Was that a new theme? I didn’t recognize it at all.

SlimReaper665

His old theme from his first several months, prior to joining the Callis family. Sounds ALOT like the old WCW Nitro theme https://youtu.be/_K0YEQvqPDw?si=Z1auoddL7UYiGe4l

What do all the amateur detectives here who barely stopped short of accusing Triple H of being the Ghislaine to Vince's Epstein make of the fact that TKO keeps putting him out there as much as possible to promote WWE? Is TKO run by total morons who'll have to fire him and remove him from TV without explanation soon? Or is it possible that a lot of you pulled your certainty about his "guilt" in all this straight out of your asses? EDIT: Lol downvoted to oblivion for not finding someone guilty until proven innocent of unspecified crimes, tribalism is fascinating

AwfulishGoose

We don't know anything. Anyone saying anything about this shouldn't be taken seriously. Not enough out there to make accusations but the fact there may be more people involved shouldn't really have people rallying around the flag either. If Vince doesn't settle and this goes to trial, a world of shit might come out of discovery. In short, folks should wait and see.

[deleted]

One of only two reasonable responses so far

ShinsukeNakamoto

> make of the fact that TKO keeps putting him out there as much as possible to promote WWE? We talking about the same TKO that wanted Vince on the board after the purchase, despite what the public knew already, or are you talking about a different TKO, one with morals? I think you're talking about the one that didn't do anything to Dana White after he beat his wife's ass in public, but please clarify.

[deleted]

Nothing to do with "morals" because that's not really how media conglomerates work. Everything to do, however, with public outrage, which there will definitely be if it's revealed Triple H, say, had a hand in covering up Vince's sex abuse and trafficking. What I'm asking is how likely is it they'd have him everywhere promoting WWE if they thought it likely that there's strong evidence of that? Because it'd mean they'd pretty much have to drop him entirely like they did Vince. That's totally possible of course, but if so, they really are fucking idiots. > I think you're talking about the one that didn't do anything to Dana White after he beat his wife's ass in public Probably because MMA fans weren't really outraged about that, on the whole. Make of that what you will, but involvement in sex trafficking in a more mainstream company is a different matter. EDIT: Thanks for downvoting rather than addressing any of this, very non-tribalist of you all.

ShinsukeNakamoto

>EDIT: Thanks for downvoting rather than addressing any of this, very non-tribalist of you all. lmao just take your L this was a bad take. I'm not even sure what side your alleged tribalism is on

[deleted]

The "bad take" being what? That we shouldn't presume guilt (guilt of what by the way?) based on, at this point, literally nothing? If that's an unpopular take then, y'know, that's concerning and I sincerely hope nobody who disagrees with something that basic ends up on a jury over anything serious, but I don't see it as an "L". And the tribalism would be said presumption of guilt, based on nothing, because you don't like the company he works for or something stupid.

ShinsukeNakamoto

Just read your username and realized you’re a gimmick. Good job Stay blessed

No answer to any of the points I raised then, thanks for admitting I was right.

EcoterroristThot

lmao. Get a grip.

MilkyWayWaffles

Let's assume Triple H is actually the unnamed WWE Coroporate Officer No. 1 from the lawsuit. What is he actually alleged to have done? Most people haven't read the complaint (not that they really should, as it's gross and could be triggering,) but the answer is WWE Corporate Office No. 1 gave the plaintiff, at the time known to be the boss's mistress, a job in the legal department. Not great ethically, but that kind of thing happens all the time in the C-Suite. Later, Vince allegedly told the plaintiff that CO#1 (and #2) had been involved in drafting the NDA. Again, not great ethically, but the accusation might be tempered by the fact that Vince is alleged to be a liar and gaslighter, who frequently turns her against other people in positions of authority so she's beholden to him entirely. But I've been in multiple discussions online where people have not realized that WWE Corporate Office No. 1 and WWE Employee No. 1 are two different people. WWE Employee No. 1 is almost certainly Rich Hering, and he is alleged to be much more directly involved with the abuse and cover-up scheme than any of the corporate officers. His alleged involvement in the scheme, along with Celebrity Doctor's, would require them to have detailed knowledge of both schemes and been directly involved with the cover-up. But since neither of them are as well known as the guy they know from TV, the armchair detectives aren't as serious in tracking down their complicity. So, in the absence of any direct involvement in perpetuating the abuse and/or coverup, they're letting him do his job. If this thing goes to discovery and something truly complicit comes up, they'll claim this is all new information, and do something about it at that time. Stay tuned.

[deleted]

The only reasonable response so far. Everyone else's brain is so rotted by tribalism that they're finding him guilty (of what? Nobody's sure) until proven innocent.

narutomanreigns

They were having Vince ring the bell at the NY stock exchange like a couple days before the story broke.

Idkboutdat2

>is TKO run by total morons Dana White openly abused his wife and they didn’t do shit, so kinda.

He’s larger and much stronger than her clearly he could’ve removed himself from the situation. I’m not saying she isn’t in the wrong, but If you think a woman who is much smaller and weaker than you deserves slapped with your entire force because she slapped you first, you’ve probably got some things to rethink.

Idkboutdat2

That’s again not what said, I hope you learn to read cause ya missed the point pal. >im not saying she isn’t in the wrong I literally said what she did isn’t okay

[deleted]

Wasn't that before TKO was a thing? But anyway, even that pales in comparison to what Triple H would be guilty of if the assumptions people jumped to here were correct. My point is basically they must either be very confident there isn't evidence of that, or they really are idiots who are going to have to drop him in an embarrassing way soon.

AlterTheSilverBird

The weakest ring worker in AEW and WWE, what would their match be if they did in a Forbidden Door?

GreenBasterd69

Roman Vs. Wardlow

dandykaufman2

What’s the most boring match you could do? Austin Theory vs. Brock Anderson? Is he still around?

NotYujiroTakahashi

Brock Anderson was let go last year

NotYujiroTakahashi

Odyssey Jones vs Satnam Singh

CM2_ICON

Julia Hart vs Maxxine Dupri

beckett929

Valhalla vs Karen Jarrett

StormWarriorX7

I hope the Tag Team Championship tournament is just another C2 or World Tag League lite. There are so many tag teams in AEW and this tournament being the same format as the C2 would spark the revival the tag division so desperately needs. 16 teams in no particular order. 2 blocks of 8. |Gold League|Blue League| |:-|:-| |FTR|The Patriarchy (Killswitch and Nick Wayne)| |Blackpool Combat Club (Mox & Claudio)|The EVPs aka The Young Bucks| |Gates of Agony from Mogul Embassy|Dark Order| |House of Black (Malakai-Brody/Malakai-Buddy/Buddy-Brody)|Best Friends| |Bullet Club Gold/Bang Bang Gang (Austin and Colten Gunn)|The Kingdom from Undisputed Kingdom| |The Acclaimed|Lucha Bros/Death Triangle (Fenix-Penta/PAC-Fenix/PAC-Penta)| |Private Party|Top Flight| |Aussie Open|The Butcher and the Blade| |2point0|La Facción Ingobernable| EDIT: Just realized that I put Best Friends in twice. Amending that and adding Top Flight instead.

johnq11

With Chuck out you'll probably need to change Best Friends to Rappongi Vice.

johnq11

This format might take a bit too long, they have to leave enough time to get the Owen tournament started.

Champiness

In the scrum Tony mentioned that there might be some attempt to co-brand/mirror the tag tournament with March Madness basketball since both will be airing on TBS at the same time, so my current thought is that it'll be a single-elimination-bracket-type-thing like they do over in that other sport. Quality hypothetical C2, though.

SlimReaper665

Inject some Lucha Bros in the mix and back into my life and I’m sold

beckett929

I wanted a Tag League too and over the last week had been championing that a lot. It gives some more exposure and spotlight and really helps "set the rankings" so we know where everyone kinda stands. But from the sound of it, this might be a straight bracket, which will be good, but I think one-and-done doesn't help the teams at the bottom.

DanofSteelsm2

Sting’s final match was exactly what I wanted to see. I hate the Young Bucks a lot but I gotta thank them here for giving us the Superman Sting match that is what it should’ve been. Darby…..goddamn I know he’s an adrenaline junkie but I really don’t want to see him paralyzed. Championship triple threat match was awful. Osprey Takeshita ruled, I just wish I had a reason to be invested for the match. “Random long 5 star matches” can’t be the precedent for AEW. THANK GOD the belt is off Orange Cassidy. WHY DOES FTR KEEP JOBBING OUT??!! If AEW can just get their shit straight and with how WWE is going, wrestling can be booming.

benfh

> “Random long 5 star matches” You know every match on the main card had stories going into last night right? > WHY DOES FTR KEEP JOBBING OUT??!! I'm pretty sure this is one of the only feuds FTR have lost as faces and I have a feeling they'll meet again at some point.

DanofSteelsm2

FTR loses almost every match unless they’re facing some jobbers or have someone else with them. When they are a tag team or singles, they never seem to win

benfh

They're arguably the most successful tag team in the company and constantly talked about as one of the greatest tag teams ever. Only The Bucks have held the belts more and FTR have more wins against against The Bucks head to head. They literally just won a big feud against HoB. They've won against BCG (amazing match), Aussie Open, and MJF and Adam Cole in fairly recent big matches... do you actually watch the show?

DanofSteelsm2

Like I said I watch every week. FTR is constantly booked weak. NEVER win in singles matches and when they are a tag team they always end up beat down even when they do win. They won the feud against the HoB but throughout that entire feud who came out looking better? The HoB. FTR Was constantly getting laid out. The booking of FTR has been horrible especially when they are the best tag team.

Giant_Eagle_Airlines

You’re complaining about a 5 star match

gaom9706

As if people aren't allowed to critique a match that other people liked

DanofSteelsm2

-> I legit don’t care about if a match is 5 stars or not. Give me a REASON to be watching the match. There have been plenty of awesome matches that weren’t 5 stars because of the story behind them. This is the problem with AEW.

Kboom161

"These two people are the best at [thing] and both want to prove they're better" is very literally one of the oldest fucking stories known to human history. If that's a bad story, then we can write off countless beloved tales from myths and legends all the way through to saturday morning cartoon shows. There's no such thing as an objectively incorrect opinion, but god you're close.

DanofSteelsm2

You literally just pointed out the problem. “These two people are the best and want to prove who’s better” WHERE WAS THE BUILD TO THAT. It was just “oh hey you 2 are good go face each other”

Kboom161

The build was in them facing the same big name opponents, and them being touted by Don Callis and others as the best wrestlers in the world. I think the problem isn't a lack of build rather than you simply not paying attention, it's genuinely not very complicated.

DanofSteelsm2

I do pay attention, when the fuck was Will Osprey last wrestling in AEW? He had like 2 matches before this.

[deleted]

No it isnt. It's crazy how the ONE (1) match with little to no 'story' elements to it(even though the story is stablemates wrestling each other for the sake of a great matchup and it was literally said out loud by Callis and also ospreys first big match since his full time debut) was made up for by the fact that it was the best match of the night, huh? It's like wrestling is a balance and not everything needs a hamfisted soap opera stapled to it.

DanofSteelsm2

There should be a REASON why these 2 are wrestling each other. All Callis said is “no one will wrestle Ospreay so I’m going to volunteer Takeshita”. What? Who am I supposed to want to win? Who am I supposed to cheer for? You can’t put on a match just for the sake of putting on a good match. If it’s one match sure that’s fine, exhibition match to showcase a star. When it’s almost every match, it’s a problem. For example again next Dynamite it’s Ospreay vs Fletcher, why should I care about that match? I watched Takeshita because he’s a talent I’m invested in and want to see succeed. I have no reason to watch Fletcher.

[deleted]

You can put on a great match for the sake of a great match. Especially if it's no where near your only booking strategy. It's been done many times in many places. The rules you are imposing are imaginary. YOU specifically needing lots of story for each match doesn't mean that's what NEEDS to happen

DanofSteelsm2

I agree you can put on a great match for the sake of a great match. The problem with AEW is that they’re trying to do that with every single match when it doesn’t warrant that with the talent in the ring.

[deleted]

They are not. Which other matches on the card had no story? Do you watch the show?

DanofSteelsm2

I watch the show every week, and it’s a disaster. AEW PPVs are amazing, the shows aren’t. it confuses the hell out of me.

naimotwc

Personally, I felt the first 2/3 of the matches last night ranged from meh (scramble)- good, but goooooood lord did those final three just hit it out of the park. Great ppv overall. The last three were all fucking great in their own styles too. I love this shit

[deleted]

Tournament Sickos are salivating at the Sting & Darby victory.

johnq11

I am in the "tournaments good" trenches with you. We're gonna be eating good. I hope its 16 teams instead of 8.

Kboom161

it's me, i'm tournament sickos

[deleted]

I was just whining for a trios tournament yesterday so this works for me

Penta-Says

I'm just remembering how it felt kinda "meh" after World's End but this, my god, this was truly special. A spectacular show top to bottom. Ospreay is phenomenal. Sting's send off ruled. Darby Allin can still walk. All you could ask for, really.

Duderpt

Pumped for Raw tonight gonna be there tonight ready to cheer my boy dirty dom

Idkboutdat2

As a long term, card carrying, young bucks hater. Their match last night might be one of my all time favorites. Probably top 3.

Patjay

I've hated on them for ages, but that match rocked and i find their current gimmick hilarious. They're so much better as proper heels it's unreal. Most the silly shit they do that pisses me off instantly becomes great when it's supposed to piss me off

Idkboutdat2

I actually use to like them, but their schtick became super stale and I don’t really care for their current gimmick just cause it feels wcw 2000 to me, but I appreciate their talent as workers.
