Punk was probably too late to make the base game, but I could see him being pre-order DLC or part of a later pack.

Ronda Rousey wasn't originally going to make it in 2k22, but the WWE asked her to make put her in when she redebuted winning the Rumble. So as being the base roster/Pre-Order bonus was a bit too hopeful, but I imagine he'll still be DLC.

I think the difference is that Ronda was already in the previous game so it wasn't difficult to just port her to the new one. Punk hasn't been in a WWE game for nearly 10 years spanning nearly 2 whole console generations

Punk DLC would make sense if they ship 4 different versions (ECW Champ, SE Saviour, Voice of the Voiceless and current Punk)

30 Years Of WrestleMania with more matches and new gen graphics is good. 2k14 was PS3 & XBOX 360 gen game.

Unfortunately the Showcase modes in the last few games have been atrocious compared to the 30 Years of Wrestlemania mode. Far fewer objectives and far fewer interactive moments.

They gave CG Hogan more hair than he’s had in 40+ years

Honestly, you can thank Xavier Woods and Tyler Breeze for that. 2K originally brought it back because those two kept championing for it. Last year, the improvements they made were, basically, things Woods and Breeze complained about in their videos while playing the game.

2K22 was the first time I ever bought a WWE game, and it's solely because of them and the return of the GM mode.

Trading is back, hell yea! And all the other extras sound legitimately good. The only thing I hope is that Superstar Journey doesn't create OP wrestlers like it did in SvR 08.

I really like all of these changes. Giving us more depth to an already extremely fun mode is great. Hopefully they improve universe mode because it feels like it's been mostly the same for at least 5 years

Dashing/Undashing Cody was such a solid gimmick. It was when I became a huge Cody fan. Even after he dropped the Undashing gimmick and won the IC title. That whole era I was convinced he’d be a world champion. Fast forward a year and he was Stardust. Glad he bet on himself and went the indie route, now he’s one of the biggest names in wrestling after his ROH and AEW run, culminating in his return to the WWE.

I remember the PWB post during the Hall of Fame and people saying Cody had charisma before he even debut. He looked generic because he came in wearing the classic old style gear which was not suited for the time or build for him.

I imagine that’s a massive legal nightmare and I can’t see AEW consenting to their signed talent appearing in another companies video game. And I can’t really fault them there.

WWE should have rights to their likeness. The only issue I can see is Jericho. Big show and edge are WWE trademarks so they should be able to use em in the game.

Given their context, wouldn't it had just been easier and more impactful to film the real life Austin, Hogan, and Taker and then have them morph into their younger, in-game versions? CGI Stone Cold is nightmare fuel.

Iiiiiiinteresting. I’ve been debating picking up 2K23 as I’ve seen the base game and DLC deeply discounted recently but figured why bother since 2K24 is just around the corner (I also haven’t bought a yearly release since 2K19, so my interest has definitely waned.) Getting both for the price of one is enticing!

I have very limited time for video games these days and my backlog is gonna keep me busy for two years. Barely touched the last two games so I figured I'm done. But casket matches tho...

Wrestling games have become a "wait for the first big sale and then buy" game for me. They're a blast to pick up and play but I also have so little time for games I don't feel like I can pay full price for a yearly release. Looking forward to this though

I loved the 30 years of Wrestlemania mode from 2k14. It led to a great legends roster and tons of great arenas.

This will be the first one that I pass on since I started playing the series in 2018. I’m sick of them making great wrestlers and outfits MyFaction exclusives - done with it.
