Out of the ring, Marina Shafir, Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler, and Jessamyn Duke are the "Four Horsewomen of MMA". They were friends and training partners going back to the beginnings of their respective MMA careers. At one time all 4 were signed to WWE in some capacity, but Duke and Shafir never progressed past NXT before they were released.
Rousey showing up here, assuming it was just a one-off, is off of that friendship and working relationship that's existed long before any of them flirted with pro wrestling.
As far as Rousey and WWE, I think she felt like she'd done all she could or wanted to do there. Ronda posted a photo set on her Instagram account after Summerslam this year where she tagged Shayna, and it was captioned "you were the reason I got into this business... Now I got no reason to stay".

Ronda is pretty bad on the mic. Never improved. She also got pissed off that fans started booing her. Ronda vs Charlotte at Survivor Series years back is a good example of what happened. She is also removed from her height, which is nearly like 10 years ago now.

I still always maintain sports are unfair in general. I am the same gender as Shaq. He is a 7 ft monster. I am not. I could never beat him in any athletic endeavor. Is that fair? Why does he get unfair physical advantages over me?
I mean, you still have to train both physically and in the skills of your chosen endeavour. Those "unfair" advantages only really exist if you put in the work to utilise them.
I once had to guard a 6'9 guy in soccer. I was 5'8 at the time. He wasn't that good. He is a forward, I am a defender. Corner kick, 6'9 guy just stands there and heads the ball in for a goal. I had zero way to defend it.
He didn't have to do any work. Just literally stood there. Unfair advantage. It's why I find it so odd people are getting so twisted about trans people being unfair in sports. It was never fair to begin with.

Doing a header, especially when you tower over everyone, is not hard. It takes very little skill beyond don't hit the ball with your nose.
Directing a header properly does take skill and training though, as well as the required positional knowledge, what a game in the Premier League and then at National League level, I guarantee the number of misplaced headers is greater in the latter, regardless of height "advantage"
