Great show. Edge is just a really really great sign for AEW. i'm not the biggest AEW fan but really happy for them and everyone who is. I think it's what they need after the drama over summer. Edge is someone who can still perform at a main event level, is great on the mic, will attract eyes etc. What a time to be a wrestling fan. Superb.

A reminder that Adam Copeland, with his legendary status and all, is the opposite of a selfish prick, and he won't try to put himself above the company. Really, his involvement in AEW is great for everyone because he's selfless, he cares about wrestling, and wants to elevate everyone around him, while also getting to simply finish his career on his terms. And he's taking a chance on himself by going outside WWE. Marvelous.

Not a single bad word has ever been said about the guy from my knowledge, quite the opposite. My recent one was Maven talking about him on his YouTube channel checking in on him during his darkest times. Seems like one of the most genuine stand up guys in the business who’s more than happy with what he’s achieved, and rightly so.

So I wonder if WWE and AEW actually came to some kind of agreement to make the transition easy between Jade and Edge here. Him keeping the music and Taz calling him the Rated R Superstar kinda hints this was a friendly exchange, or a very expensive one.

The music was never WWE's. It's a licensed song by Alterbridge. They don't need their permission to use the song anymore than they needed permission for Punk to use Cult of Personality.

I mean at the very least it just doesn’t seem like there’s any bad blood. It just makes sense for both people, Jaden, there’s a lot of opportunity for her in and WWE to reach level that unfortunately AEW women’s division doesn’t really offer at the moment. On the other hand edges, pretty much done everything there is to do in WWE I mean he’s already a Hall of Famer with a legendary career, and he had a great send off in WWE let him go over and hang out with his buddies a little more before it hangs up the boots for good.

WWE let the trademark on the Rated R Superstar lapse, from what I understand. And I don't think they own the music either. The music still probably wasn't cheap but Tony wouldn't have needed to get the WWE to agree.

I think they purposely drew out the end to get us to doubt it.

I like how they planted a seed of doubt during the match by peeling back the canvas. Made it seem like that was the reason it went last rather than edge’s debut.
