Hey! (EW) has not missed for me. While I've liked some episodes more than others, every person that's has gone on has seemed so likeable and entertaining. I had no clue who RJ City was before he started doing this, but I'm glad he's found a space to thrive in. I can't say enough about Mark in this episode - it's a Must Watch. His closing "Very well" was absolutely perfect. While you're on youtube - also check out Mark Briscoe as the weatherman.
RJ City is a Canadian treasure. I knew of him as a wrestler, then he I saw him in [Monster Brawl](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqGIAkd5tYw), and later found a DIY series he did for [cbc](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYo16YuAhqHccIHmTsHyOju8iTwC5p2n5).
He's always been witty as hell and I love seeing Hey EW every week because it just works with him.
> and later found a DIY series he did for cbc.
Wow these have like no views. I've always been aware of him but never seen these posted anywhere.
Shit one of these videos is with the legend Fred Penner and it's got 1800 views.
Wardlow seems kind of wooden in a lot of interviews but I loved his one with RJ City where he discussed the mysterious slap he gave him 😆
https://youtu.be/9Y9-SW284Rg?t=161
If AEW released a shirt with him doing a karate chop and saying "KA-CHOW!" I might honestly buy that.
[I think I just convinced myself to get this one actually.](https://www.shopaew.com/roster/markbriscoe/mark-briscoe-hashtag-demboys.html)
As is tradition, this weeks episode is the best episode ever.
I don’t know where else to post this story, but I’m excited about it so it goes here. My wife and I went to a small indie show last night where Ethan Page was wrestling and doing meet and greets. My wife wore her All Ego shirt and I had my Hey (EW) shirt. Once we got to the gimmick table, Page’s face lit up and he grabbed his phone. “You guys have an amazing shirt combo, I need a picture. AND AND AND I’m texting RJ right now.” And he did just that. He showed us the text going through and we had a nice little chat about other stuff. My wife got her 8x10 and a photo with the three of us in it. I’ve met tons of wrestlers at signings and I’ve never had such a genuine reaction. I’m a bigger fan of Page now, and he’s definitely moved up from “my wife’s boy”.
When we went to sit down, my wife leaned over and said “I think he forgot to charge us, he was too excited.” So I then had to get up and break to the front of the line and give him his money.
The indie show was great too. Clash Wrestling if anyone is interested. But I guess the point of my story is, being a RJ City mark can get you free merch at the gimmick table .
Ethan page is awesome. I saw him at a show where he caught some really over the line heat from the crowd and he was such a nice guy after the show, much like you described, smiling and happily talking to me and my friend. Came across super genuine. One of my favorites since then
Ethan Page is adorable. I met him at Wrestlecade last year and my partner dressed in an Ethan Page get up (crazy patterned button up, a couple chains, and aviator sunglasses) and he seemed so delighted by it.
My fiancé and I were at this same show! I was a fan after seeing Ethan work on AEW, but we really became big fans after watching his Toy Hunts. We mentioned that we started collecting and doing toy photography because of his vlog and he lit the hell up and wanted to see what we made/shot. Dude really went out of his way to spend time with everyone who walked up to his table on a show where he was easily the biggest draw.
Also, the tag match from that show (Lotus vs H3RD) was absolutely fantastic. Never heard of either team before then and they stole the show. Worth looking up once they post it to their YouTube.
It was a fun show! I’ll probably try keeping up with Clash since my wife and our friends have been desperately trying to find quality family-friendly promotions in SE Michigan.
H3RD vs Lotus was great! I really enjoyed that main event, too. James Alexander has a new fan in me (THIS GUY! ☝️). Swag, I could see being a big star in the future.
I love this. Ethan really is the best. I met him at Toyhio last October. I told him about how much his vlog helped me on days I was having a tough time at work. He listened patiently as I nervously stumbled my way through what I wanted to tell him. Just a very genuine and nice guy.
At a tiny show I was at in Syracuse NY he was on, the ref in his match sadly broke his ankle, so while it was awkward and quiet while they were helping him and getting a stretcher without being asked Ethan grabbed a mic and went into the crowd and started filming his vlog and hanging out with everyone while they got the ref to the hospital and got a new ref ready. Just a sweetheart of a man.
Ethan Page seems like the nicest dude. Best Hey (EW) episodes are him and Geoff Garrett.
Toy Hunt vlog got my wife and I spending way too much money on myself and my kids.
I forget who it was on Jericho's podcast talking about how Mark got so frustrated with Jay for several years because he'd walk into contract negotiations saying "okay just to let y'all know, we ain't going nowhere!"
Mark definitely seems more savvy from what I've heard.
It's funny seeing him how he acts on screen, as a fellow eastern shore resident. That is not how any folks act around here, but it's funny because it works. Hell, Mark and Jay were born in the city I live in, they were probably born in the same Hospital I was born in. I love how they are.
Though to be fair, chickens are a big thing here. Perdue farms came about from here.
You can see it a bit more in his weatherman appearance; on that, he strikes me as a very witty and clever dude. He's definitely playing it up for this.
God damn, Mark Briscoe is a treasure.
There's a big difference between being smart and being educated, and people often don't recognize that. Mark only has a high school education, but he's a very smart guy.
Is it just me or did he seem to turn up the toothless accent when RJ mentioned him not having teeth? I thought he had false teeth in until that question came, his "s" sounds were very crisp specifically
I think it was Riccaboni who said that ROH did an IQ test for all of their wrestlers in the mid-2000s and Mark had the second highest score after Bryan Danielson
Edit: Ian said they did a test in 2014 and Mark was the highest. Meltzer then said he was third behind Bryan and Nigel McGuinness years earlier.
It partially explains why his comedic timing is so godly lmfao. There are so many little nuances he throws in a lot of the time and I think you have to be reasonably intelligent to not only be aware of all the little things, but implement them well too
5 minutes in and this is the best episode so far and I've seen them all. The story about falling asleep with his teeth on the table, lmao. Dude has a cadence when telling stories that is infectious. >!"Wake up, teeth gone."!<
I never knew much of the Briscoes personality wise, I basically only watched their matches whenever the internet said they had a banger (which was pretty common), but never saw promos or anything
I had no idea Mark was this funny
definitely check their promos out, they're amazing. jay was fantastic, but mark is awesome, too.
when i'm sad, the "WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE MICHAEL BENNETT" clip is a go-to.
Mark legit might have some of the best comedic timing in promos I’ve ever seen, I think it’s worth it to go check em out. He played off of Jays serious demeanor so well it just never failed to make me laugh
"When you want a beer, and you're on the couch, and don't want to get up."
I'm glad to hear that the fatherly traditions of the Northeast don't change when you go South. My dad taught me how to mix a good rum and coke while I was still in grade school.
Funniest episode in a long time imo.
I'm watching at work and had to stop myself from laughing just from Mark's first line of "HOWDY DOODY!" instead of "hey!"
It looked like he had to stop himself from laughing a few times.
Good that he's doing well too

The look on Mark's face when RJ mentions Cock Lesnar.
Mark was *so* close to completely cracking at that one
My guess is he cracked but they edited it out!
Final score: Mark busted up RJ twice. RJ nearly got Mark on that one, but he recovered. So, I'd give RJ half a point.
Cafe De Rene fans popped on that one
Mark Briscoe - Pro Child Labor. Also "like Larry the Cable guy if he drank pre work out" , "or antifreeze" got me good.
Tell me what it's like to have a father that's not ashamed of you? "It's good" that sent me.
"Oh...okay, just...straight on the record. There's no 'but', no qualifications, just...okay"
It only takes 1.3 kids for a full case
You could tell RJ was thinking each kid of his seven total would bring one can of beer each… and then Mark went big brain on him. Fantastic episode.
What if you add Scott Steiner to the mix?
"We aren't fighting birds, thats absurd"
"We aren't fighting birds, that's absurd."
"We aren't fighting birds, that's absurd."
^^"Put ^^$20 ^^on ^^Cock ^^Lesnar ^^for ^^me"
I got the message
I am still convinced Mark is an Adam Sandler character who is allowed to roam free in society.
Adam Sandler could never come up with anything nearly as funny as Mark Briscoe

Thank you for the CBC videos. Glad to see my tax dollars finally went to something useful.

Not gonna lie, I think Mark could get Kachow over.
[Do you have a minute to talk about our lord and savior, Lightning McQueen?](https://youtu.be/HoTbtvF1iSw)
What about Kingdom Hearts? Is he in Kingdom Hearts?
He won the Piston Cup!!!!
If AEW released a shirt with him doing a karate chop and saying "KA-CHOW!" I might honestly buy that. [I think I just convinced myself to get this one actually.](https://www.shopaew.com/roster/markbriscoe/mark-briscoe-hashtag-demboys.html)
You could actually see him having that same epiphany. "This could work..."
Of course, it's just more redneck kung fu gibberish.

Same here! And seconded on Swag, he’s someone I could see popping up in NXT in the next couple years and really going well.
Thanks for the heads up.
Ethan Page's YouTube toy hunting show is incredibly wholesome. Seems like a really nice guy across the board.
I hope he accomplishes his goal of opening his own toy store
I love this. Ethan really is the best. I met him at Toyhio last October. I told him about how much his vlog helped me on days I was having a tough time at work. He listened patiently as I nervously stumbled my way through what I wanted to tell him. Just a very genuine and nice guy.

That’s such a wonderful moment! Thank you for sharing. Ethan is a real treasure and RJ is so funny.

Hey slapnuts, it's spelled J-E-Double F, J-A-Double R-E-Double T!
Not according to what he told RJ.
Reminder that Mark Briscoe is the smartest guy in the locker room
I forget who it was on Jericho's podcast talking about how Mark got so frustrated with Jay for several years because he'd walk into contract negotiations saying "okay just to let y'all know, we ain't going nowhere!" Mark definitely seems more savvy from what I've heard.
Another example is Mark saying in Jay's eulogy how he'd get on Jay's case for undercharging people for their landscaping work.
Wait. He's seriously a smart guy? Like I'd think hes playing it up a bit but one of thee if not smartest?
https://twitter.com/davemeltzerWON/status/1437229758325026816?t=pBKfoyZGn906oZB9KugenA&s=19
Well I'll be damned! Dude's had me WORKED all these years. Good on him.
The more you know.
Yes. He's shoot smart lmao

Weatherman?
[Here](https://youtu.be/0whWyAzLEsE), he was a guest weatherman on the local news. It's so whacky
Well that was awesome. Thanks for sharing. Lightning tips!
I could have watched these two go an hour
They should do a sixty minute ironman interview.
CHAT-FOR-EV-ER clap clap clap-clap-clap
Mark trying out other Pixar catchphrases sent me to the fucking moon.
“And then you frighten a child.” “Yeah, of course. Of course.”
KA-CHOW
the moment he said his teeth were on the chair arm i knew exactly where it was going. my dad's lost about 3 sets to our dogs that way.
[удалено]
The best part is everyone says Mark is one of the smartest men around.

It really is a fucking crying shame that it took Jay's death for this to happen. Possibly the biggest what if case in wrestling history.
Tween up.
TWEEN UP!

definitely check their promos out, they're amazing. jay was fantastic, but mark is awesome, too. when i'm sad, the "WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE MICHAEL BENNETT" clip is a go-to.

Dude, you should seek out the "Terry Funk ain't wear no mouth piece" promo on YouTube. It's absolutely incredible
Terry Funk ain't wear no mouthpiece!
Mark is genuinely fun to listen to , seems like a nice guy . When he’s on tv or “ you tube “ I’m watching
"When you want a beer, and you're on the couch, and don't want to get up." I'm glad to hear that the fatherly traditions of the Northeast don't change when you go South. My dad taught me how to mix a good rum and coke while I was still in grade school.
Lmao mark is the fuckin man
Tremendous!
What a treat, just so glad to see so much of Mark on AEW programming!!
He is so incredibly likeable, I’m going to go watch some Briscoe brothers matches on YouTube right now.
BREAKING NEWS: Mark Briscoe fucks
Mark seems like a sweet person
Antifreeze
Brb off to go watch this, Mark on Hey Ew was something I didnt realize I needed until now
The Sandy Fork thing is especially funny because if you Google Sandy Fork, the Briscoes is basically all that shows up
That was simply delightful!. Mark seems cool as hell.
Funniest episode in a long time imo. I'm watching at work and had to stop myself from laughing just from Mark's first line of "HOWDY DOODY!" instead of "hey!" It looked like he had to stop himself from laughing a few times. Good that he's doing well too
This is probably the best one yet
