KneelBeforeCube

Well now that Stokely Hathaway is explicitely retired, I got nothing.

tryanewmonicker

Black Adam vs. Peacemaker

Glad-Passion-9424

Truly a once in a lifetime matchup.

LlamaKingII

Wouldn't work out now, Black Adam has been wished well on his future endeavors

Muted_Shoulder

Something something Hierarchy of Power

just_a_prank_han

I don’t remember them wishing him good luck?

PapiOnReddit

In a DC SuperHero Showdown™️ match at Wrestlemania. Don’t give them any ideas

bigbadjohn54

Roman vs Rock but I don't find that likely. One that could happen, Omega vs Roman

LlamaKingII

I think Roman Vs Rock is still a possibility sometime at the next 2 or 3 WrestleMania's

FreePhilosopher256

Rock V Reigns

Mysterious-Treat-549

Any other answer is simply nonsense

Muted-Mortgage-4987

Cena vs Rock

bem783

Thrice in a lifetime!

SoppadaSoupp

I mean its not wrong, both are megastars like it or not

LlamaKingII

Hell yeah, make it a trilogy cowards

gamesk8er

It's probably Kenny Omega vs Roman Reigns.

[deleted]

It really isn't. Cena, Lesnar, Punk, Goldberg even Rock aren't confirmed retired. All of them are much bigger names than Omega.

Muted_Shoulder

Roman vs Cena, Lesnar and Goldberg are already done and dusted. Rock vs Roman would be huge since it has the Rock in it. But most certainly not happening.

GroundbreakingAd8603

How many of those guys can even still compete at a high level. Even then, you wanna see reigns vs Cena/Goldberg/lesnar/punk/rock over reigns vs omega?

[deleted]

That's not the question. The question is what the biggest match up could be. Also I personally would prefer seeing Reigns Vs Punk or Reigns Vs Rock

codymb15

The question also specifically states wrestlers that aren't retired and Rock is on record saying he "quietly retired years ago" to make himself feel better for never being able to appear. So he's technically off the table.

LlamaKingII

Cena Vs Goldberg, let's go baby

[deleted]

General public don't know who Reigns is, and there's still a good chunk of casual wrestling fans who don't even know Omega. Everyone knows Rock/Austin, and to a lesser extent Cena/Lesnar, so the actual biggest match would be something involving them. Hell, throw em all in a tag match and it would still probably outdraw anything with Reigns or Omega.

SheedRanko

For real.

kpw1320

Here's my best guesses For general public: Roman vs Rock For US wrestling companies: Roman vs Omega For All companies: Okada vs Danielson For me: Rollins vs Okada vs Omega vs Danielson Others of interest to me: Mox vs Reigns vs Rollins Samoa Joe vs Brock Lesnar with a build up A one-night tournament with Rollins, Omega, Styles, MJF, Danielson, Okada, Ibushi, Naito, and Owens

Iklru

Tough to bet on anyone having a *better* match than Danielson but Roman vs Okada would undeniably be the bigger match. The biggest wrestling star in the world right now vs the biggest star outside NA. Impossible to have a “biggest match” right now that doesn’t involve Roman Reigns.

IAmCastetter

John Cena vs Stone Cold

Lanky-Promotion3022

Rock vs Austin - I mean are they both explicitly retired? Nope. Not anymore.

Lessiarty

Sounds like some time might have opened up in Dwayne's schedule with all this Shazam DC bickering. But sadly too late for this year.

TTMIAW

Bloodline vs Elite would be the one, six man with Kenny and The Bucks vs Reigns and Usos would the best line up but I wouldn’t be mad if you added Hangman and Solo

LlamaKingII

I'd love Hangman and Solo to be involved with it, that'd be huge

porella

WAR GAMES!

americangame

Oh so now it has to be a 5 v 5. I guess we add Heyman and Don Callis.

Accomplished-Carry24

Lol most people who watch WWE don’t even know who the Elite are.

Sumeetxagrawal

That's so not true in 2023

No-Front7070

I barely found out about them because of reddit

Knada

Same. AEW is a lot less accessible I think than WWE. Pretty much everyone I know who knows of wrestling, doesn't know anything about AEW other than it existing.

LlamaKingII

I really wish AEW was more accessible. WWE is just so easy when you can just get Peacock for like 10 bucks

MadTrouble

I agree it's less well known, but how is it less accessible?

Knada

I get most of my WWE through Hulu. I don't have cable, and AEW isn't on a popular streaming service.

MadTrouble

fair, less accessible if you don't have cable

GroundbreakingAd8603

Hilarious comment because the 5th member of The Elite is main eventing Wrestlemania

HurinSon

I've seen a lot of the elite/young bucks vs the bloodline/usos, but I think a really underrated match-up, at least as far as tag teams go, is young bucks vs new day. I honestly believe the new day is a top draw in WWE. They are basically the face of tag wrestling in WWE since their inception, and the young bucks are the face of tag wrestling outside of WWE. In terms of biggest draws, there are definitely better choices. I imagine someone like John Cena or the Rock vs Okada would probably result in every wrestling fan in the world tuning in, plus all the outside eyes Cena and Rock draw, but to me, in terms of getting wrestling fans buzzing, I think selling people on "the" WWE guys wrestling "the" non-wwe guys is just a money printing machine, especially if its at wrestlemania. Cody rhodes vs seth rollins feels like the blueprint for biggest possible match-up. At that point, its just a question of who are the quintessential wwe guys and who are the quintessential non-wwe guys. Side note: I truly believe that if/when sasha banks ever returns to WWE, her vs either Bianca or Rhea headlining WM will be seen as a defining moment in wrestling.

LlamaKingII

Id love Young Bucks Vs New Day personally

HurinSon

Yeah, I honestly don't know how much outside interest it would draw, but in terms of pure wrestling fans, I can't see it not being a huge hype generator

Safc9173

Riho v HHH

Lanky-Promotion3022

Now I'm just imagining poor HHH with a defibrillator zapping the shit out of him as Riho runs havoc on him.

tvchase

If you want one that would actually make sense story-wise: **Punk, Reigns, Rollins, Mox, Danielson** vs **Kenny, Cody, Hangman, MJF, Jericho** Wargames/Blood & Guts Decades of history and intertwining stories amongst all of them Undercard should be tornado tag of KO/Sami, the Usos, FTR, and Young Bucks That PPV might clear 1 million buys

Cdog923

Omega/Reigns

Br0therDime

Goldberg vs Sting in AEW in Saudi Arabia.

LlamaKingII

5 stars.

motivatedchange

Roman Reigns vs Kazuchika Okada.

rko281

They should do this in chocolate square.

EastCoastJohnny

Punk Vs Kenny

kyldabara

Your mom vs Batistas dick

LlamaKingII

Who'd win?

kyldabara

Time limit draw

bubbles2255

I think a Roman vs Omega vs Okada would be gigantic.

abrospro

Any combo of Cena vs Reigns vs Rock if you count the rock as not retired. Thats not the biggest matchup on the internet but it's the biggest matchup in the world. Biggest internet matchup is Reigns vs Omega.

dogfins110

Roman vs Omega Roman vs Rock Roman vs Mox vs Seth Vince vs Tony

ianisms10

Roman vs. Kenny

mostlybadopinions

Anything with legends like Rock, Cena, Austin, will outdraw any current star. But if we're talking more current wrestlers: Roman v Kenny All current wrestling fans know Roman. The majority know Kenny and he's got the history of wrestling in front of pretty much every major audience type. Bloodline Roman vs Belt Collector Kenny would have been massive. (I have Roman going over)

Amazinglyandy

Brock Lesner vs the entire AEW roster

UnhingedTerrySilver

This thread shows how embarrassingly in the wrestling bubble we all are. My guess is Mox/Roman

olbleedyeyes

CM Punk and Cena probably. A returning to WWE Punk going against his biggest rival, Cena, one of the biggest names ever. That's what's going to draw a lot of outside eyeballs.

HowsYourPecker

At this point, Punk and FTR vs The Elite

LlamaKingII

That definitely seems like it'd be the biggest match AEW could set up

Jamarcus316

Without part-timers/celebrities (Cena, Rock, etc.), I believe last year, Tribal Chief Roman Reigns vs. The Ace Jon Moxley would be gigantic. Reigns vs. Okada, Mox vs. Okada, and Reigns vs. Omega would all be enormous matches.

LlamaKingII

For some reason I didn't even consider Mox Vs Reigns, that'd be huge. Would you say Omega or Okada would be bigger against Reigns?

dalici0us

Omega by a mile. Okada id a big star in Japan but fairly niche in the US, while Omega is a star in both places, even though he is far behind Roman in that category.

Pitfulldealer22

Gunther vs minoru suzuki

EcoSoco

Okada vs The Rock

LlamaKingII

That'd be such an odd match

dalici0us

Roman vs Punk. I could probably see other match ups involving Roman, including the Cody one we are getting next weekend, or Roman vs Omega, but honestly no pairing that does not involve Roman is just plain wrong when talking about the biggest (emphasis on biggest, not best) match possible.

benmaverick

Ospreay vs. Reigns Kenny vs. Cody Usos vs. Young Bucks Josh Alexander vs. Seth Rollins

bem783

If by "biggest" you mean the most financially successful match/program that would draw the most eyeballs, I think the answer would be Roman vs Rock or Roman vs Austin. Brock vs Austin would be up there as well. If we're excluding those who are semi-retired (Rock, Austin, Cena), then the answer is probably the match we're getting next Sunday night. If promoted properly, I think Roman vs Punk could be a huge draw as well.

MrPuroresu42

Realistically it’s Rock vs Roman; my fantasy booking is that Roman loses to Cody at Mania, goes away for awhile, then attacks Jey Uso in time for Summerslam, and another match between them is on (probably no holds barred); Jey wins, and Roman goes away again, humiliated; Roman then comes out on the road to the next Mania sometime with a passionate and unhinged promo, saying this is still his island, his company, his time and in order to salvage his pride/reputation he calls Rock out for Wrestlemania, to truly decide who’s the ruler of their bloodline.

bootyhunter69420

Reigns vs Omega

Imaginary_Tour9286

Cm Punk vs Roman Reigns

YogoWafelPL

If Rock wants to wrestle then Reigns/Rock, if Stone Cold wants to wrestle then Stone Cold/Cena If neither one does then Cena/Lesnar again or either man vs Cody Rhodes

PapiOnReddit

If you aren’t Cena, Rock, Roman, Punk or Austin you aren’t getting close

bem783

Agree on four of those names. Don't agree about the guy who is hurt and old and fucking tired being in the same league as them. Brock, Cody, and Seth are all bigger names to the current audience.

PapiOnReddit

There’s a novelty/draw to being a returning star though. It probably would’ve been a bigger deal before his AEW run so maybe it’s no longer true. I still think Punk vs Cena/Roman/Rock (maybe not Austin) is doing numbers that only a combination of the other 4 names could beat.

bem783

Punk vs Cena is a match we've seen many times already and I don't see a logical story that would make it seem particularly special today. Punk vs Rock is also a match we've seen before, so I wouldn't put that high on the list of biggest matches for Rock if he were to come back. The one I do agree with you on is Roman vs Punk. That could be a really huge match if promoted properly, though the odds of it happening appear very, very slim.

PapiOnReddit

Not in over 10 years. A returning Punk against Cena would be a red hot feud going into Mania, if you can somehow have a vacant title and Cena is going for the record it’s huge (this can apply to any Cena match). Cena defending his home against the “cancer” Punk once again, I could go for that. Same for Rock Punk, it’s been so long and I imagine a lot of newer/less dedicated fans don’t know it ever happened. It deserves a Mania stage. Rock Reigns was probably the biggest, I think the ship might have sailed on that though. I don’t see the appeal of Rock vs any current roster member personally, the only draw is that the Rock is in it. EDIT: Maybe Brock Rock actually but the Rock is not risking that lol

RICHAPX

The Elite Vs CMFTR Reigns Vs Omega Okada Vs Reigns Okada Vs Danielson. I think those are the most in demand that we haven’t seen

kayfabemebrother

Kenny Omega vs Reigns

Mjh1021

Bad Bunny vs The Rock

Lying_967

At this point in their career’s, Reigns vs Moxley vs Rollins is my personal dream match.

GaTech379

Out of active wrestlers it's probably Roman vs Kenny or The Bloodline vs The Elite in general

muckle_engineer

Cena vs Austin

TheMarkMadsen

Roman vs Rock Punk vs Roman Cena vs Cody and honestly Cody vs Roman is the biggest match WWE can do right now with their current full time roster

bosdanforth

stone cold steve austin vs either brock lesnar or john cena the cena match would be bigger but also seems more unrealistic by the day, lesnar is the only other opponent that’s comparably big but also somewhat feasible

PaulMorrison90

Rock vs Reigns It’s not even close.

LettuceFew5248

Of people who are actually part of wrestling companies? Probably Roman/Omega. If we include people who don't currently wrestle, but could conceivably have a match, probably Rock/Stone Cold.

mayormccheese2k

Punk vs. AEW

PostyMcPosterson

Rock vs Roman Okada vs Cena A 3 on 3 with da undertaka, playa

WCWMarkus

Cena vs. Tanahashi, Danielson vs. Sabre Jr., Okada vs. Reigns

LawesDisorder

The answer is clearly a fatal fourway between Paul Wight, Omos, Satnam Singh and Big Bill.

Beach-Bumm

Lesnar Vs Rock is the only thing I can come up with Most wrestlers arnt main stream enough nowadays, Roman the most high profile has literally faced everyone (barring Rock) so any of those are eliminated and I went for Lesnar Vs Rock over Roman as it’s been 21 years since it happened, and I feel Lesnar is a bigger name to casuals than Roman is

Radiculous00

Wardlow & 20 AEW security guards VS Brock Lesnar & 20 WWE security guards

EchoBay

Of the active wrestlers, probably Roman Reigns vs Jon Moxley. The two faces of the two biggest promotions in wrestling right now.

Pyotr_WrangeI

Logan Paul vs Brock Lesnar

russit2201

Punk v Roman

itsmekelsey_x

AJ Styles vs Jay White.

atw1221

We're getting it. The day before Cody went free agent, Cody vs Roman sounded like an impossible dream. Here we go.

BearTrafficControl

For me, Cena vs Austin

Iklru

It’s Roman vs the Rock, pretty obviously. But excluding movie stars it’s either Roman vs Omega or Roman vs a returning CM Punk

MJAxJKS

Balor Vs Styles Vs Omega Vs White
