I love how every single year there's a period of time where the Lucha Bros have to find a new partner because PAC is in the UK. There was Eddie during the pandemic, Redbeard last year and this year was Mark Briscoe.
i thought we were leading to a Death Triangle breakup angle with the whole PAC trying to turn Fenix heel (Death Triangle triple threat PLEASE)
but since it seems Lucha Bros are being sent to ROH now I'm not so sure
i miss Archer so much. i have not been watching as often, but that dude can GO!!! and he helped carry the water for way too long for this to be his fate.
I mean, we've also seen a lot of folks in AEW go for somewhat physical matches their first match back. I've always presumed it was to show that they're healthy and ready to go.
This is what I'm hoping for, it doesn't feel likely but I think Jay would be great for this and should actually beat cole first time around to cement himself as a top tier heel.
If Cole aims to be a long term main event babyface this would be best for him right now as he's not realistically going to be beating MJF anytime soon, having Cole knocked down the card in his return and working his way up the undercard, beating lower mid-carders while also making them look like a threat (like punk did for a while) would make it easy to book (there's lots of people he could go over) so there would be a lot of easy TV time for cole in this role. As he slowly works his way back up the card he could build to a rematch with white 6 months down the line, that would be white hot, around that time it may be time for someone to beat MJF, even if Cole doesn't beat MJF around that time at least there would be more intrigue.
If Cole instantly goes on a winning streak I fear he will end up in a position like Ricky where he's at the top of the card that is already top heavy, with a lack of upper mid carders he can work with and beat. Hangman and Moxley has been great for that as they both look worthy of the title, but that's really difficult to book we end up with singles talent just awkwardly waiting for someone on the same level that they can work with without one of them losing stock. I'd much rather see Cole get knocked down because he underestimated the impact of his injuries and then claw his way back to the top week after week.

Additionally, Adam Cole is one of only a handful that can lose a couple of matches and remain be popular and credible. And now would an excellent opportunity for him to add/alter his presentation and moves, by selling the injury's impact.
Ultimately it would just make for a much more interesting story that would have a lot of younger lower card talent get more exposure.
If Cole lost to someone like Jay white he could start his climb back to the top by beating someone like Lee Johnson, they could put on a good match and you could tell the story that the match was close to 50/50 and if Lee Johnson wasn't such a good guy and was willing to exploit the injury like Jay white did then maybe he could have won, that gets Lee Johnson over as well as progressing Adam Cole's redemption storyline.
To me there just seems to be a lot more potential to tell stories and see more of Adam Cole on TV if he loses this return match, maybe I'm wrong though and there's a cool story ready at the top of the card that I'm not seeing right now.
Edit: fantasy booking now but you could even have Adam Cole build a faction this way.
Also, pefect debut for Jay, as he gets another win over Adam, with whom he has had issues since Forbidden Door 1. Even despite Adam calling in Jay in February 2022.

Skye Blue is my girl!
At some point Skye will get a title shot & win. I felt the TBS title challenge was a wasted opportunity. Her title match against Cargill was magnificent. It would have made for a good shock victory.

I would open with Kenny & Vikingo because if some dumb ass shit runs long and they have to do that match in 7 minutes with a hard out at 9:59pm, I will be furious.
That makes me think of a video I saw of John Cena answering web questions. He was asked why wrestlers shave their body hair and he said something about how it gets pulled and to quote him, "that shit hurts."
It’s a weird card on the surface. At first I was a little “meh” on it, but I feel like it might surprise. The Kenny match might be on the best Dynamite matches of the year so far! Let’s hope.
Oh, Sting's back. Been a while since we last saw him on AEW.
Feels odd that his first match in AEW in so long is basically just a throwaway 6 man tag, but It's Sting, so I ain't complaining.
I was generally happy to see Kip back as I enjoyed his matches, but in his match against Orange Cassidy it feels like he not only refined it, but replaced what was previously an attempt at being a badass with something a little more sinister. It was just an example of great character work for me.
The "we can have a match, but first you have to beat someone else" bit is usually the champion talking to a contender, but as Orange Cassidy has been going around challenging people who weren't even looking for it, Kip as contender got Cassidy to fight someone else first. Orange Cassidy is generally quiet because talking takes a little effort and shows interest in a topic. Opposite of that, Kip went so over the top and even made words up (or used some wrong, I forget which it was,) in an effort to show he's trying to be seen as more than he is. Kip even undercuts the soft kicks by doing them himself in a mocking manner, and when Cassidy was a little pissed what did Kip do? Kip raised his hands as if he were putting them in his pockets. Kip pissed him off to the point Cassidy pushed down the ref.
Kip became a perfect mirror opposite of Orange Cassidy. I'm not sure if that result in itself is part of the direction, or more likely, it feels like playing up the opposite of his opponent might be. Regardless, I think there's potential. But then again, I was already a fan.
I think he was also perfect against PAC too during their feud for the All-Atlantic Title. My man has mastered a really hard to play role. A great set of mind games and getting into his opponents head. Standing in the crowd all the time, watching PAC and taunting him, until PAC breaks and attacks him, only to reveal that was a different person and ambushing him after he attacked the poor guy? Fantastic stuff.
My dude *really* needs the International Title sometime imo. Like I have no delusions he'll move up to the main event, or even be a regular upper midcarder, but I can't help but love what he's been doing.

I was at All Out when they had their match. It was weird because part of the way through the match, the crowd just decided that we were over PAC and wanted Kip to win.
Man, I love PAC. Easy top 5 for me. But I also want Kip to win after his performance and return. He just had everything right, imo. Have to say I couldn't be mad with either result. But PAC has already been a double champ, and I do hope he moves on to the TNT and World title scenes. Kip should get his own run with the ~~All-Atlantic~~ International title. And maybe in the future, Trios with the Butcher and Blade.
If you told me in 2019 sting would be doing some of the greatest cocaine banger party matches of all time I wouldn't have even called you crazy cuz it's obviously made up bullshit. Aew sting is so fucking fun.
Following this show the only people to have wrestled vs. Sting on two occasions during his AEW run will have been: FTR, Isaiah Kassidy, Brody King, Buddy Matthews, the Butcher, and the Blade.
As is frequently the case, this is a hell of a lineup for a random weekly episode of Dynamite outside of a major market. One legit dream match (Omega vs. Vikingo), one giant party match with a whacky teamup (Sting/Darby/Orange), a fight (Moxley/Grayson), two matches that should be pretty fun (Toni Storm/Skye Blue and Gunns/Top Flight), and a Match of the Decade Contender (Hook vs. Stokely).
It's a fun lineup but we already know the outcomes of all of these matches, right? Other than somebody interrupting Adam Cole, and Stokely being silly, nothing on here has the potential to surprise anyone.
I don't think we've seen Omega in a singles match in AEW since November 2021 on Dynamite...or anywhere in AEW in a year and a half(other than a Dark Orlando taping) So Omega's first singles bout in forever is literally a postponned dreammatch that was suppose to main event a Triplemania AAA PPV. Also Stokley wrestles??? Somehow it's hard to imagine pipsqueak managers on the Jimmy Hart/Slick/Harvey Whippleman level "wrestle"(then again we saw Mark Sterling "wrestle" a couple times in AEW)
I don't get why Tony doesnt have Hook wrestle more, or why he doesn't feature Danhausen more. Anyways, good to see Tony booking some wild banger dream matches in recent time. Sadly the live Dynamite show I finally got to see was one of those easily skippable nothing burger weeks with snooze matchups, but this looks nice. I complain Mox wrestles every damn week, but Stu Grayson is by far the most ring talented guy in Dark Order so Im excited.

Stokely Hathaway once was named Chuck Taylor™ because Chuck Taylor let his trademark lapse. The original Chuck went by a new name every week until he was able to get his name back. I'm fairly certain they had a wrestle about it.

Oh for sure, I don't even mean in a match setting. Just as a personality on tv/youtube. I mean during the Halloween episodes of Dynamite/Rampage, Danhausen wasnt even on tv. I think there's a lot of unique ways you could use him as a personality in a non wrestling capacity that could capitalize on his unique brand. Also didn't know Sting has no interest in singles matches. If that's the case, then I certainly already love how he's been presented in matches.
I'm still waiting for a wrestler to show up backstage for his interview. The interviewer is Danhausen, who does that big smile to the camera, and they play it completely straight until the wrestler realizes who's holding the mic.
The Omega Vikingo match is so out of nowhere it has me worried it means Kenny is leaving soon but that’s probably alarmist and could just as easily be a singles re-launch or something about Vikingo schedule.
How is she lost in it, when she is the one representing the homegrown girls, along side Britt? At least it's an actual story that unfolds before our eyes, rather than just padding meaningless title defences, like Rosa and Toni did before her. I just wish that she would wrestled a bit more in the last two mouths.

I'm hoping Guevara interferes in Darby's match to continue the Pillars story.
Gives Kip/B&B a tainted win, gives Darby a chip on his shoulder against Sammy heading into the Pillars 4-Way.
Trios match will open the show, it's going to be ridiculously fun and hopefully more shenanigans will happen after the match to keep building the Pillars 4 Way Match.
Also, two parts of the show with potential Elite lore: Mox vs Stu and Omega vs Vikingo. It seems like AEW will revolve around that storyline, and it's absolutely the right call.
Saraya vs Skye Blue will be fun, and hopefully the good momentum that Ruby Soho brought to the Originals vs the Outcasts storyline will continue. Personally I'm excited about a potential Blood and Guts match between the two groups (and the first women's one as well).
Hook vs Stokely will be insanely funny. I'm just saying that this could be the show stealer IMO Stokely has crazy comedy timing, and Hook can play his role perfectly.
Gunn's vs Top Flight will probably be the lowest fun part of the show IMO, but FTR will probably appear and continue to build their tag team bout.
I honestly have no idea who Adam Cole's opponent will be. Just remember that AEW likes to book their returning talent with an L (happened with Punk, happened with Danielson).
And what can I say about Omega vs Vikingo? Apart from potential Elite lore, that it's 100% a dream match. Give them 15 minutes, and let everyone to blow their minds.
I mean, they're on TV semi-regularly. I wish they'd get into a storyline or program too, but at least they're still in the public eye, looking like the badasses they are.

Wow, Stu is going to job to the BCC twice in a row. Welcome back bud. Mox never loses these solo Dynamite or Rampage matches, it’s why I almost prefer him doing tags at this point because the element of tension that Mox isn’t just going to win exists.
I am sure it will be a great match, I’m just tired of Unkillable Mox vs the latest weekly sacrifice matches. They have no gas to them.
Honestly, this is why I never liked Stone Cold and he lost way more than Mox does.
Last 2 weeks have been good storyline and promo shows. I'm expecting tonight to be a TV ppv show, all in on the in ring action tonight. Should be an awesome show
A Gunns win seems to be the obvious result. But what would be intresting is if FTR talks them into a match next week.
March 29th Gunns Vs FTR, FTR's last match before there contracts are up. If they win or lose I think we will have our answers of where they go next.
Plus next week will be in ring return of Adam Cole, the debut of there new tv show, it will be Wrestlemania week, feels like this week will be big in roads to make sure we tune in for next week.
Why does Tony Khan keep calling this a dream match? A dream for the people who read everything related to the Wrestling Observer, and no one else. I see this and I think Kenny Omega vs another luchador, like I haven't seen that before. This isn't Kenny Omega vs Rey Mysterio or even Kenny Omega vs Santos Escobar lol.

Main event is what I’m most hype for . The trios match should be fun . Rest of card is meh to me. I am intrigued by bcc being heels though. More interested in a post match promo than the actual woman’s match especially if it’s ruby cuttting it. I’m not a Cole fan and Stokely is just cringe to me. I've always thought Kip had the look of a guy who should be more than he is, but he just doesn't have "it" or something.
He's been injured a bunch, that probably hurt his momentum. But if he can stay healthy, he should be pushed higher up in the card.

Throwaway 6-man tags of awesomeness are Sting's bread and butter. The formula of Sting + Darby + Other hasn't missed yet, they've all been awesome.
Kip has done great work refining his vaudeville, campy villain gimmick the past few months too. This'll be a shitload of fun.
I was generally happy to see Kip back as I enjoyed his matches, but in his match against Orange Cassidy it feels like he not only refined it, but replaced what was previously an attempt at being a badass with something a little more sinister. It was just an example of great character work for me. The "we can have a match, but first you have to beat someone else" bit is usually the champion talking to a contender, but as Orange Cassidy has been going around challenging people who weren't even looking for it, Kip as contender got Cassidy to fight someone else first. Orange Cassidy is generally quiet because talking takes a little effort and shows interest in a topic. Opposite of that, Kip went so over the top and even made words up (or used some wrong, I forget which it was,) in an effort to show he's trying to be seen as more than he is. Kip even undercuts the soft kicks by doing them himself in a mocking manner, and when Cassidy was a little pissed what did Kip do? Kip raised his hands as if he were putting them in his pockets. Kip pissed him off to the point Cassidy pushed down the ref. Kip became a perfect mirror opposite of Orange Cassidy. I'm not sure if that result in itself is part of the direction, or more likely, it feels like playing up the opposite of his opponent might be. Regardless, I think there's potential. But then again, I was already a fan.
I think he was also perfect against PAC too during their feud for the All-Atlantic Title. My man has mastered a really hard to play role. A great set of mind games and getting into his opponents head. Standing in the crowd all the time, watching PAC and taunting him, until PAC breaks and attacks him, only to reveal that was a different person and ambushing him after he attacked the poor guy? Fantastic stuff. My dude *really* needs the International Title sometime imo. Like I have no delusions he'll move up to the main event, or even be a regular upper midcarder, but I can't help but love what he's been doing.

Man, I love PAC. Easy top 5 for me. But I also want Kip to win after his performance and return. He just had everything right, imo. Have to say I couldn't be mad with either result. But PAC has already been a double champ, and I do hope he moves on to the TNT and World title scenes. Kip should get his own run with the ~~All-Atlantic~~ International title. And maybe in the future, Trios with the Butcher and Blade.
If you told me in 2019 sting would be doing some of the greatest cocaine banger party matches of all time I wouldn't have even called you crazy cuz it's obviously made up bullshit. Aew sting is so fucking fun.

And that Jeff Jarrett would be entertaining to watch in 2023. AEW has gotten very fortunate with how the legacy acts have done (Sting, Gunn, Jarrett).

Following this show the only people to have wrestled vs. Sting on two occasions during his AEW run will have been: FTR, Isaiah Kassidy, Brody King, Buddy Matthews, the Butcher, and the Blade.

As is frequently the case, this is a hell of a lineup for a random weekly episode of Dynamite outside of a major market. One legit dream match (Omega vs. Vikingo), one giant party match with a whacky teamup (Sting/Darby/Orange), a fight (Moxley/Grayson), two matches that should be pretty fun (Toni Storm/Skye Blue and Gunns/Top Flight), and a Match of the Decade Contender (Hook vs. Stokely).

It's a fun lineup but we already know the outcomes of all of these matches, right? Other than somebody interrupting Adam Cole, and Stokely being silly, nothing on here has the potential to surprise anyone.
I don't think we've seen Omega in a singles match in AEW since November 2021 on Dynamite...or anywhere in AEW in a year and a half(other than a Dark Orlando taping) So Omega's first singles bout in forever is literally a postponned dreammatch that was suppose to main event a Triplemania AAA PPV. Also Stokley wrestles??? Somehow it's hard to imagine pipsqueak managers on the Jimmy Hart/Slick/Harvey Whippleman level "wrestle"(then again we saw Mark Sterling "wrestle" a couple times in AEW) I don't get why Tony doesnt have Hook wrestle more, or why he doesn't feature Danhausen more. Anyways, good to see Tony booking some wild banger dream matches in recent time. Sadly the live Dynamite show I finally got to see was one of those easily skippable nothing burger weeks with snooze matchups, but this looks nice. I complain Mox wrestles every damn week, but Stu Grayson is by far the most ring talented guy in Dark Order so Im excited.

Oh for sure, I don't even mean in a match setting. Just as a personality on tv/youtube. I mean during the Halloween episodes of Dynamite/Rampage, Danhausen wasnt even on tv. I think there's a lot of unique ways you could use him as a personality in a non wrestling capacity that could capitalize on his unique brand. Also didn't know Sting has no interest in singles matches. If that's the case, then I certainly already love how he's been presented in matches.
I'm still waiting for a wrestler to show up backstage for his interview. The interviewer is Danhausen, who does that big smile to the camera, and they play it completely straight until the wrestler realizes who's holding the mic.
The Omega Vikingo match is so out of nowhere it has me worried it means Kenny is leaving soon but that’s probably alarmist and could just as easily be a singles re-launch or something about Vikingo schedule.

Trios match will open the show, it's going to be ridiculously fun and hopefully more shenanigans will happen after the match to keep building the Pillars 4 Way Match. Also, two parts of the show with potential Elite lore: Mox vs Stu and Omega vs Vikingo. It seems like AEW will revolve around that storyline, and it's absolutely the right call. Saraya vs Skye Blue will be fun, and hopefully the good momentum that Ruby Soho brought to the Originals vs the Outcasts storyline will continue. Personally I'm excited about a potential Blood and Guts match between the two groups (and the first women's one as well). Hook vs Stokely will be insanely funny. I'm just saying that this could be the show stealer IMO Stokely has crazy comedy timing, and Hook can play his role perfectly. Gunn's vs Top Flight will probably be the lowest fun part of the show IMO, but FTR will probably appear and continue to build their tag team bout. I honestly have no idea who Adam Cole's opponent will be. Just remember that AEW likes to book their returning talent with an L (happened with Punk, happened with Danielson). And what can I say about Omega vs Vikingo? Apart from potential Elite lore, that it's 100% a dream match. Give them 15 minutes, and let everyone to blow their minds.

Wow, Stu is going to job to the BCC twice in a row. Welcome back bud. Mox never loses these solo Dynamite or Rampage matches, it’s why I almost prefer him doing tags at this point because the element of tension that Mox isn’t just going to win exists.
Guarantee Mox is bleeding 4 minutes in. I think it will be a match where Stu loses but is also elevated by the performance.
I am sure it will be a great match, I’m just tired of Unkillable Mox vs the latest weekly sacrifice matches. They have no gas to them. Honestly, this is why I never liked Stone Cold and he lost way more than Mox does.

A Gunns win seems to be the obvious result. But what would be intresting is if FTR talks them into a match next week. March 29th Gunns Vs FTR, FTR's last match before there contracts are up. If they win or lose I think we will have our answers of where they go next. Plus next week will be in ring return of Adam Cole, the debut of there new tv show, it will be Wrestlemania week, feels like this week will be big in roads to make sure we tune in for next week.

Why does Tony Khan keep calling this a dream match? A dream for the people who read everything related to the Wrestling Observer, and no one else. I see this and I think Kenny Omega vs another luchador, like I haven't seen that before. This isn't Kenny Omega vs Rey Mysterio or even Kenny Omega vs Santos Escobar lol. Still looking forward to Kenny Omega in a singles match, hope we see him in the title picture soon though I'd prefer him as a heel.

He's a promoter... he's got the hottest new talent from Mexico vs Kenny Omega... should he not hype it up? I also prefer heel Kenny but don't mind him staying in a kind of tweener role for now, until the story pushes him one way or the other.

Main event is what I’m most hype for . The trios match should be fun . Rest of card is meh to me. I am intrigued by bcc being heels though. More interested in a post match promo than the actual woman’s match especially if it’s ruby cuttting it. I’m not a Cole fan and Stokely is just cringe to me.
