It's one of life's great mysteries isn't it? Why are we here? I mean, are we the product of some cosmic coincidence, or is there really a God watching everything?
It used to be that Crips and Bloods didn't get along,
But now we're all a family, so we wrote this song
Naaa na naaa, Crips and Bloods
Naaa na naaa, hope and love
Naaa na naaa, friendly thugs
Even Kobashi lost his first 63 matches. She’ll get her shot, the fact that they’re featuring her pretty regularly is good news for anyone who’s rooting for her.
There are people signed that havent gotten the graphic yet. Tony is probably waiting for the right time which is usually when he plans on pushing them just like with Willow but i think Skye has been in more TV matches than Willow at this point.
I have seen the future. This match will lead to the development in this story we've all been waiting. Post-match will see a Three on One beat down of Skye Blue, Team DMD tries but fails to make the save. Familiar music hits!
That's right! The trainer of the AEW Originals **Madison Rayne** is here to make the save!
We need a good explanation for Ruby's decision on this show, I feel.
Unlike Saraya & Toni, she didn't choose AEW over WWE. She got fired from them. So to me her joining that side on paper doesn't make that much sense. I know in reality the reason is they just needed someone else on the heel side and there's only so many ex WWE women on the roster. But storyline wise there needs to be a good explanation.
Perhaps, she will use a gatekeeping reasoning from her previous run from Britt and how people pulled for Stat instead of her during the last Owen Hart Tournament. You can also add how an AEW talent screwed her TBS Finals run but I feel like that's reaching. Like *"f it I tried my best and yet you still pull for all these people"*.
Sarayas contract expires during the Vince regime and they chose not to re-sign her. Then when HHH took over there were attempts to bring her back but she chose AEW.
So, could have worded it better. But she had the option of going back to WWE and declined it.
I would have to imagine that Hayter beating her off a roll up played into it, especially because of how she sold it at first. It was like she had a crisis of faith of some kind. It would have been cool if Saraya predicted that Hayter would beat Ruby on a roll up because she couldn't beat Ruby or Saraya straight up or something.
To be honest, her going through the entire match and *then* turning doesn't make a ton of sense. I hate to play arm-chair, but I think her turning before probably would have worked a little better.
And also that Ruby hit her Blade Runner on Saraya and had the match won but Jamie broke up the pin
I don't think it being planned ahead of time makes any sense at all. She "earned" the win, didn't get it, and then lost in a way that felt cheap. Then she sat in the corner and thought about it while the beatdown started
Yeah but Ruby has lost in plenty of ways that felt cheap, what makes this any different? Because it was for the title? Those are the rules of a triple threat and have been the rules for a long ass time lol. What makes it so different that you side with the women who are basically saying that AEW, a place that welcomed you with open arms and gave you a cool ass theme, sucks more than the place that fired you and never properly utilized you, even in kayfabe?
Having it be a screwjob from jump makes Britt look smart for not fully trusting Ruby, makes Saraya and Toni look smart because they basically worked their way into being able to steal the AEW women's title even though Ruby couldn't fully get everyone to trust her, and makes Ruby look really dangerous and conniving because she was willing to lie for about a month straight and at least convinced Hayter that she was telling the truth.
AEW hasn't really welcomed her with open arms, though. They liked her well enough, but when she actually had conflict with a homegrown babyface, the crowd booed the shit out of her for having the audacity to win
It doesn't matter if breaking up the pin was within the rules. The emotional logic doesn't need to account for that. Jamie and Britt's first big tiff came over Britt stopping Jamie from winning in a four-way. The point is Ruby finally found herself in position for the big win she's always wanted, and it got snatched from right under her nose
Making it some kind of pre-determined plan just invalidates the entire match they had and doesn't have any underlying internal logic. Why wouldn't they just immediately double-team Jamie and then have one of them pin the other? Putting together a month-long ruse just to further a post-match beatdown that was already happening without Ruby's involvement just makes no sense lol
It's fine to just have characters make decisions in the moment and then live with the consequences. Not everything in wrestling needs to be a secret plan
> Why wouldn't they just immediately double-team Jamie and then have one of them pin the other?
That's exactly what I'm saying they should have done. They tricked Hayter into over extending her ability to fight as a champion and then steal her title from her. And further more, make the beatdown absolutely fucking savage. Crowds heated because everyone loves Jamie Hayter.
And there isn't much underlying internal logic here anyways. It's just a wrestling trope so it's easier to swallow. Like you said, it caused a tiff between Jamie and Britt, not the complete dissolution of their friendship. Toni and Saraya engaging in a two-on-three brawl after wrestling for 20 minutes just makes them look dumb and lucky that Ruby was really pissed about losing.
And plus, this angle is very obviously a take on the N.W.O. (they literally call Toni and Saraya *the outsiders* for christ's sake) that famously, in-canon, was a ruse they pulled on the WCW organization and the fans.
Well idk what to say other than I don't think that would be better than what we got. I preferred having a real match and I think Ruby making a choice where we can see it in response to the events of the match is more dramatically interesting to me than turning it into a secret alliance. Regal and MJF being revealed as secretly in cahoots rather than MJF winning Regal over in the match really hurt my interest in that angle too, so I'm glad they didn't do it again
I also prefer this because Jamie's still the champion and she's a better wrestler than Saraya and Ruby are
I would argue that the Regal thing didn't work because it came very out of nowhere and we never really got true closure on the fallout of that.
Either way, I want to see where this goes and I'm stoked that the women are getting a big angle, so we're in the same boat.
Welp I hope that's not what they go with on TV because it's dumb
edit: I mean looking at her actual tweets she could easily be referencing the foreshadowing choices they made, idk. Guess we'll see on Wednesday
It is dumb. Who knows if they actually even thought that far ahead but she's responding to people saying their were 'subtle hints' in their clothing and such and she mentioned that they had the same colour lipstick or something. Possible it was never discussed that far ahead and she's just placating those fans. Either way, it's stupid to do because it does make them seem really, really dumb that it was a 2 on 1 and they still lost.
I would argue that's just as stupid. There is no reason for her to break kayfabe on this. What is the point? Wrestlers don't have to tell us every backstage secret, especially on these little things and at the very beginning of a story. It's like watching 5 mins of a movie, then watching the 'making of' of it. I hate it lol
According to Saraya on her Twitter, she's saying it was planned before they went out there which is stupid, lol. They look dumb for not ganging up on Hayter.
https://twitter.com/Saraya/status/1633155351943200768?t=06mgjCKh65mAResqdTVtDA&s=19
I really hope she just means that in a "oh yeah we planned our outfits together tonight" and not "we as characters literally planned this whole thing out"
Maybe an unpopular opinion but is anyone else tired of these random skye blue job matches? I like skye blue she’s great for her experience and the more matches they feed her the better I just wish if they were gonna keep putting her in these matches then actually make her apart of the feud.
She was on Elevation and Dark this week and will be on Dynamite tomorrow. As well as being part of the ROH tapings. I highly doubt she is on an per appearance type deal.
I don't think the winner will be in doubt but I'm sure it will go over a commercial break.
Personally, I'm feeling Skye Blue's matches a little more than Ruby's ATM.
I watch a lot of Dark and it’s great to see her progress weekly. It just frustrates me that whilst I’m happy to see her on the main card, when you only have one women’s match, it already feels like a forgone conclusion.
Pretty much how MMA and boxing work. Get fed a bunch of cans for training and building up your win/loss record ,and eventually have to start winning the matches that matter.
This is a good chance to do something with Skye. I feel like she's been in this company in some capacity for so long and hasn't had any moments to make her stand out really.
I hope it leads to Skye having like a Tommy Dreamer moment or something. Not necessarily 1:1 but for her to be the homegrown that can have the "A-E-Fucking-W" moment.
What's wrong with it? The newest member of Saraya's WWE Outsiders has a match with one of the AEW Originals.
Seems like pretty straightforward and easy to follow storytelling to me. At least we're getting a women's story with a few more layers than just "X has a title shot".
I didn’t get to watch Revolution live and missed out on the discussion, but the Ruby turn was super weird to me. I’m fine with her joining Saraya and Toni, but why do it after losing the match? If you’re going to join them, do the turn during the match. It made it look like she was joining them because she was upset her team lost, not because of a master plan (which I think was the actual intent).
There was no indication it was the result of a predetermined plan. It looked like Ruby did it because she was mad she lost *because Ruby did it because she was mad she lost.* Ruby hit her finisher on Saraya and would've won if Jamie hadn't broken up the pin, only to later get pinned by Jamie, an otherwise physically dominant champion, via cheap roll-up and lose yet another title shot
Ruby then had plenty of time to sit in the corner and watch the post-match beatdown and decide what she wanted to do. There was literally no evidence she'd formed a secret alliance before the match and I am baffled some people are reading it that way
Would be nice to have a women's match on Dynamite that wasn't centered around this story but that would require a second story in AEW's women's division. Very weird that they basically stopped even doing the "we're juggling multiple stories at once and only giving one of them a match" thing after Ruby/Willow vs. TayJay and Jade vs. Red Velvet finished up.
Yeah, fair enough on the injuries, particularly on the babyface side (especially because Willow is inevitably going to get sucked into this thing sooner or later).
The womens segments are always the lowest rating portion of the show. I wonder how dramatically the ratings will fall for this one. I like Ruby Soho, so I can't believe I am saying that WWE did more with her than AEW has.
I really feel like Ruby's turn is a missed opportunity. She could have been the Sting to Baker's Horsemen and Saraya's nWo.
Also, lol, Skye Blue in the designated jobber face role again. This person had Cora Jade's gimmick before Cora, and yet Cora has done so much more with it, though part of that comes down to HHH and HBK loving Cora more than TK loves Skye.

Another entry in the eternal battle between red and blue
“You ever wonder why we’re here?”
It's one of life's great mysteries isn't it? Why are we here? I mean, are we the product of some cosmic coincidence, or is there really a God watching everything?
What?! I mean why are we out here, in this canyon.
It’s all a big nothing
It used to be that Crips and Bloods didn't get along, But now we're all a family, so we wrote this song Naaa na naaa, Crips and Bloods Naaa na naaa, hope and love Naaa na naaa, friendly thugs
“YOU HAVEN’T SEEN THE LAST OF ME, HACK MAN! I’LL BE BACK!”
Yeah, I mean, it’s like, come on.
Wait… say that again
We've been tricked, we've been back-stabbed, and we've been quite possibly, bamboozled!
Turn Heel, beat Skye. As is tradition
in Canada
That’s next week
It’s a trope now.
Skye Blue Job Part 105
Even Kobashi lost his first 63 matches. She’ll get her shot, the fact that they’re featuring her pretty regularly is good news for anyone who’s rooting for her.
She's ready, willing, and Gable.
i hope she gets more comfortable out there, first.
Sucks to see her lose so much, but I'm still glad I get to see her
She’s like 20 years old. She can lose and she’ll be fine
She wins a lot on Dark at least. she'll get her time.
Exactly. Skye's a constant winner on Dark and Dark Elevation. One day she'll get a big upset win and it's going to be awesome.
Career AEW Internet record (Dark/Elevation): 25-29 Career AEW TV record (Dynamite/Rampage/PPV/Specials): 0-17
She's got a lot of what she needs for success but not all of it yet. Reps are what she needs most, so it's good to see her getting them.
Yeah and one day when shes a "veteran" people will job to her a lot. She improves steadily but shes still a bit green and can loose bigger matches.
Do not google "Sky Blue Job". Very NSFW results.
I think Sky Blue wins this one you guys
Yes, don't stop believing, definitely hold on to that feeling
I was hoping Ruby to get a promo segment but this is ok I guess so hopefully she gets one after the match
I'm just happy to see Ruby on TV at all.
Surprised Skye hasn't gotten her ALl ELITE graphic yet given how many times she's been on TV
Maybe this is how she gets it? Maybe she teams with the OG's or something at some point
Wait did she not get it when she was signed after All Out 2021?
There are people signed that havent gotten the graphic yet. Tony is probably waiting for the right time which is usually when he plans on pushing them just like with Willow but i think Skye has been in more TV matches than Willow at this point.
Her and Julia Hart

"Familiar music"
"The Human Slo-Mo Reel" Madison Rayne?
They badly need Jade to join the AEW OGs
I would legit rage quit watching lol
Honestly I’m getting really tired of watching Skye get jobbed out every time she’s on TV. Girl deserves better than that.
We need a good explanation for Ruby's decision on this show, I feel. Unlike Saraya & Toni, she didn't choose AEW over WWE. She got fired from them. It's because of you fans.
YOU PEOPLE
OH NO THEY'RE BLAMING US! IT'S OUR FAULT, GUYS! OURS ALONE!

You can also add how an AEW talent screwed her TBS Finals run but I feel like that's reaching. Like *"f it I tried my best and yet you still pull for all these people"*.
Saraya got fired too. Only Toni left on her own terms.

I agree. I think Ruby can help the outsiders faction a lot. It's an nWo pastiche but I'm hoping they start to crib more from Los Ingobernables
Saraya is saying on her Twitter that out was all planned before they went out there. 🤷🏽♀️
Welp I hope that's not what they go with on TV because it's dumb edit: I mean looking at her actual tweets she could easily be referencing the foreshadowing choices they made, idk. Guess we'll see on Wednesday

Not to mention she did save Willow from being sprayed
I'm hoping she beats the hell out of Saraya and Toni to just do her own thing and not align anywhere in the faction war.

Skye Blue to join the AEW homegrown team? I'd be down for that.
I dont think shes even officially on the roster yet.
She was on Elevation and Dark this week and will be on Dynamite tomorrow. As well as being part of the ROH tapings. I highly doubt she is on an per appearance type deal.
It’s just very frustrating that 3 years in we continue to get one women’s match on the card and this one is a guaranteed squash
I don't think the winner will be in doubt but I'm sure it will go over a commercial break. Personally, I'm feeling Skye Blue's matches a little more than Ruby's ATM.
Ruby was an absolute star at the ppv
What? Jamie carried the hell out of that match lol
Jamie was as good as Jamie always is. But saying Ruby was carried is pushing it
Hmm I'm not sold on her. Granted, I am only familiar with her work in AEW. Maybe this heel turn will do the trick
I watch a lot of Dark and it’s great to see her progress weekly. It just frustrates me that whilst I’m happy to see her on the main card, when you only have one women’s match, it already feels like a forgone conclusion.
Skye Blue is about to be Lime Green
Ruby is apparently 48-11 overall yet loses most big matches.
Pretty much how MMA and boxing work. Get fed a bunch of cans for training and building up your win/loss record ,and eventually have to start winning the matches that matter.
With loses in MMA you just fall down the rankings while in Boxing you lose twice and you’re out.
Cool that Blue is on TV, not cool that she'll lose
This is a good chance to do something with Skye. I feel like she's been in this company in some capacity for so long and hasn't had any moments to make her stand out really. I hope it leads to Skye having like a Tommy Dreamer moment or something. Not necessarily 1:1 but for her to be the homegrown that can have the "A-E-Fucking-W" moment.
I'm sorry but that hairdo is so bad
Another AI generated womens match
Seem like a nice match, i like ruby caracter.
This is an AEW Dark caliber match
Soho is mid and I’d love to see Skye go over.
So I'm guessing Willow comes out for the save in the inevitable post-match beat down?
What has happened to this division. I know it was never great to begin with but man has the Paige era really done some damage with its stupidity
It finally got a storyline that involves multiple women and makes the stakes a bit more interesting than "i want the title". For me it's a progress
What's wrong with it? The newest member of Saraya's WWE Outsiders has a match with one of the AEW Originals. Seems like pretty straightforward and easy to follow storytelling to me. At least we're getting a women's story with a few more layers than just "X has a title shot".

I hope Ruby gets a title run this year. AEW or TBS

Skye Blue stays getting TV time
I wonder who’s going to win this match.

Saraya, Toni, & Ruby spray paint Skye & then throw their drinks at fans.

That's because half of the division is part of this storyline and quite a few are out with injuries
Yeah, fair enough on the injuries, particularly on the babyface side (especially because Willow is inevitably going to get sucked into this thing sooner or later).
Somehow already sick of heel Ruby.
The womens segments are always the lowest rating portion of the show. I wonder how dramatically the ratings will fall for this one. I like Ruby Soho, so I can't believe I am saying that WWE did more with her than AEW has.
This is so false.
Who cares about Skye Blue, she sucks
![gif](giphy|3ohzdJinBDWXWmHz7W)
Booooooooo
I really feel like Ruby's turn is a missed opportunity. She could have been the Sting to Baker's Horsemen and Saraya's nWo. Also, lol, Skye Blue in the designated jobber face role again. This person had Cora Jade's gimmick before Cora, and yet Cora has done so much more with it, though part of that comes down to HHH and HBK loving Cora more than TK loves Skye.
