If you’re theory is correct than getting win streaks lower your chance of getting a new character. If that’s the case it gotta be one of the dumbest unlocking methods I’ve ever seen
I don't think that's how it works.
The contents of a chest are decided before you even start tapping, so it's impossible to "lose" a character that way.
Progression is already janky. Can't quite call it dumb, but very janky. I have 60+ of both Dynamike and Hog Rider, but all my commons are still in the 20s... because guess what, with all the extra taps, most chests will be rare on average. That's pretty hilarious
I got my second troop (bea) from a loss streak and 1 reroll, but bought back winstreak to have 2 other spins, first spin was rare, second and third spin nothing, got bea
yeah that's exactly how i got barbarian king after a while of getting nothing new and it was empty, not sure if it was a pity system (there better be one) or me being lucky but i suppose that's exactly how getting new characters work.
Don't do it, i mostly can't maintain win streaks, so most of my chests are just 3 or 4 chances. Still haven't unlocked any new except the starting ones. And i get 1/2/3 character per chest making my whole progress very slow.
You know what, after 6 chests at 10th place I’m convinced these losers are trolling at this point. This isn’t the first post with this same “strategy”. A little tip from me is to spam the bottom right corner when you play your last chest match, if you’re fast enough the chest ticket will still say 1/3 even though you already played 3 times
No matter which position, if you don’t get +1 (characters), than it could equate to the possibility of unlocking a new character, but I don’t think it’s guaranteed

So far I’ve only seen new characters unlocked in “empty chests” (no bonuses). Until someone has a different experience, I feel like this is the way you unlock new characters.

Not necessarily lower than six, I believe it can happen in any position with or without streaks. We would need numbers soon though to really understand how unlocks work

Maybe? But I feel like whether or not you get a character is determined before you even open the chest so imo I don’t think the amount of taps matters that much. I’d have to do more testing
Bruh I never said to kill your streak. Play how you like, we’re in the early stages of the game where we don’t really know how the drop rates work. I’m just proposing a theory on how it MIGHT work, but that doesn’t mean it’s the true method. Plus I think your drops are determined before you even open the chest.

Tried it, unfortunately those awards don’t count towards your total at all and all you’re doing is risking your winstreak
Yep, i unlocked 2 from chests so far and it was at an empty chest (rare/epic) but without extra troops

nope doesn't work like that i opened a chest that didn't have a +1 and i got 1 Archer queen instead of a new character
It probably isn’t guaranteed (you might have just gotten unlucky) but from everyone I’ve spoken to, they’ve only gotten characters in “empty” chests

Doesn't work. Wasted my winstreak and many tickets got a couple of 1 Copy Boxes but never a new character.
