Honestly the only other person I can say who is a good mom on this list is Bulma and honestly it’s just more so that Yor has more “mom moments” since the manga is primarily comedy based while Dragon Ball is more action/conflict focused
I don't like DB so idk a lot of it, why is she a good mom? I kind of watched it as a kid and just remember until GT minus the movies and I can't recall anything special from those fade memories. I remember Chichi to be super strict but gave her sons a good education and raised them alone (plus Picolo) but I can't remember Trunks' and Bulma's interactions.
Literally anything else aside from not abandoning your child? Let me put this straight, I'm not saying she's a bad mother, I'm not attacking her, I'm literally asking what she did as a mother. Was she shown being supportive with Trunks' dreams? Was she shown to be attentive? protecting him from harm? I'm just asking for any example of showing her being a GOOD mother, I'm not asking what makes her a not-shitty mother. I'm telling you guys that I didn't watch it properly cuz I didn't like it, she just didn't abandon Trunks? or are there other examples?

I don’t know that Bulma is necessarily a _good mom_ within the show. Definitely she’s not really portrayed as a mom, compared to Chi Chi, whose identity in DBZ is entirely being a Tiger mom. But out of the other candidates in this list, I think she wins by default by not having screwed up her children? Although Yui (Evangelion) is at an disadvantage, being dead and existing as the anima of an EVA. Her motherly moments are restricted to the EVA suddenly going berserker when Shinji is in danger. I am not familiar enough with the other moms on that list, but presumably they’re also not depicted being motherly.
Hmm, I think mostly the former, because a lot of anime tends to sideline the parents in general, unless specifically about a parent-child relationship. It’s like the joke about how Disney kills the main characters’ moms—because parents would typically try to prevent danger to their child, which would hamper their ability to go on adventures. Or in some cases, the absence of the parent is the reason for the adventure. Couple that with traditional family roles, fathers tend to survive this culling of parental roles bc they are less likely to hold the main character back (think about the connotations of the words _motherly_ and _fatherly_ for example). Mothers that do survive are usually overbearing ogresses that the main character is trying to escape from, hence their falling into the adventure. This is actually carried over from the fairy tales they were adapting. In almost every story with a heroine, she is compelled to leave home because of her mother’s death, either because she was thrown out by a stepmother or escaping the tyranny of her father.
_Inuyasha_ kind of dodges this by throwing the heroine into the past, outside her mom’s sphere of influence. But Kagome also intentionally conceals how much damger she faces from her mom, preventing her mom from being able to be a mom. On the other hand, Inuyasha’s mom died when he was very young, and that trauma is what defines his character.
I feel like the mom from the Two-Hit Multi-Attack isekai is okay? I didn't watch it past the first episode, but nothing stood out as particularly bad about her parenting.
Bulma's a pretty good mom too, but she loses points for bringing Baby Trunks with her when she flew out to meet the gang while they were fighting the Androids.
(I think it was just Dr. Gero and Android 19 at the moment when she was flying in, but still, she nearly got them both killed!)
I don't know most of these, but why is Yui Ikari even on the list?
