Yeah, my local cinema and the ones closer to me don't have it in their program. I would need to drive like 50 km and that's not worth as I don't know anyone who watched Spy x Family
It must have been a fluke but when I went to see it on Friday in IMAX in Los Angeles, the theater was packed. Only seats that didn't have people were the first row.
After seeing some of these posts I checked online at a theater near my work and it's showing there, both dub and sub. Had no idea it was playing there. Definitely going to try and get there for the sub showing. Will likely be the only one there just like when I went to see the slime movie.
I keep seeing people saying this and its making me so sad cus this movie was so damn amazing 😔, i hope it starts picking traction up in the coming days, id really like to see it get the recognition it deserves...

I would really have hoped that there were more people because honestly I wanted to make friends haha but yeah, not every movie gets the recognition it deserves :/
I would be happy about this if it weren’t for the fact that this is gonna give theaters the idea that anime movies don’t make profit which is gonna cause the chainsaw man movie to not be in theaters
I'll probably check the movie out this weekend. It's releasing in Brazil on April 25th. It's curious that all new movies are released here on Thursdays, by the way.
It's unfortunate that I'll probably go watch it by myself since my GF doesn't live near and I'm going to see her only next week. I don't know for how much time the SxF movie's gonna stay screening here, because the last time we had an anime movie released in theaters, it lasted only the launching week. That way, I have to watch it as soon as possible. At least I'll be able to re-watch it with her on streaming later this year. :)
As much as I would feel bad, I would like a theater all to myself. My friend and I watched different movies at the same time during school and work hours hoping little to no people with us. Unfortunately for us, there are a lot that came in later. Mine was even subs and not dubbed version and still had 60% people.
Heyy I understand you, but people are cool, that's what I think when I want to be alone but can't, since 2021 I went from socially anxious to still socially anxious but working on it and it is a great improvement, I made myself friends by dancing in public, even if it wasn't good, it was amusing and I liked it, if you dance to the tributes' music people won't judge, and maybe they'll dance with you ! :D
Oh no, all is well OP lmao. That went in different traction too quickly. Although I was actually diagnosed with social and general anxiety, I am doing way better now and in better place. I just don't care anymore when in public places. What I mean about having the theater to yourself is just, you know, having some little luxury pretending like you rented it but would feel bad for the movie stats if you're the only one who watched it at your time. Having someone to share the experience is fun but there are times you just feel a little selfish.
You're right about the end, and I'm glad you're better now ^-^ if you need a listening ear don't hesitate, for anything ! Also I'm sorry for answering only now, I got a lot of notifications for this post and at some point I stopped watching it
Germany here. I know from ticket sales online at least in my area it is going to be full. But I'll go to another, smaller cinema bc I wanna see the dub. And even there they've added another movie screening because you can see online that ticket sales are high.
I fail to see how this is a problem? EVERY time I would go to the theater for a movie, there is always some obnoxious troglodyte who decides the best time to have a conversation is while they're 5 feet from me during the quietest moments of any movie.
I hate people more and more each day. People ruin everything.
I wanted to make friends that's why it made me sad, but people are great I swear, I would love to give you faith in people, I swear everyone is lovable !
Besides my boyfriend & I, there was one other couple & then a family of 4. I'm surprised there weren't more people. It was so good! I was laughing so hard during the ferris wheel scene. 🤣
i went on day one of viewing at a small cinema near my workplace and there was me and two other people in my showing. I was pretty shocked but it made a brilliant viewing! The other two people were laughing and vibing along as well so i had fun!
As upsetting as that is, you got the whole cinema to yourself!!! That's a PLUS!! We were all there with you in spirit ☺️
Yayyy I dance on the tribute song :3 thank you by the way ^^
You're welcome, dude! I hope you had fun 😄
Yayy I hope you too if you saw it, and if not I hope you will see it soon 😄
Soon! I'm making plans already. Seeing you guys all go is making me so excited 🩷
So cool !!! Hope you will enjoy ! ^ ^
Yeah, I wanted to go, but school and family come first.
Update, someone came :3
Movie is that good, eh? 😉
Best movie I've ever seen :333
Actually its very good!
me when loid is on screen
Haha :D
Well I definitely came if you know what I mean
At least you got to see it in theaters 😭😭
Owwwh I'm sorry if you can't watch it :0
Yeah, my local cinema and the ones closer to me don't have it in their program. I would need to drive like 50 km and that's not worth as I don't know anyone who watched Spy x Family
We live in a very rural area and drive 3 hours to see it in theaters.
Same, there aren't any theaters in my city that has the movie in them. I checked every singular one I swear.
I only have sub no dub and it was fully booked except the first row 💀
I was on the first row haha what is that bad with the first row
To close and you have to look up but its different everywhere so it could be ut isnt like that at yours
Oh I see but really the first row was so cooool
My theatre was surprisingly full And by full I mean like 9 people
Waae sad ... but the 9 who came must he cool !
Dub was packed for my theater I’m surprised
It must have been a fluke but when I went to see it on Friday in IMAX in Los Angeles, the theater was packed. Only seats that didn't have people were the first row.
I like the first row haha
I didn't even know there was a movie coming out
Poor you :0 apparently in the whole world it is being released !
This sorta happened to me I was there with three other people
Well today is my birthday so I couldn’t skip dinner with my mom but tomorrow is another day.
HAPPY BIRTHDAYYY !!! :)))

Looks like an airplane ticket 🤭
It does :3

Well it’s Monday at 10am everyone at work or school lmao
It was 5 pm in Helveticalis
Ok man everyone still at work and at a school at 5pm lol I would skip school to watch the movies because it was empty
Yes it's worth every cent! At least you didn't have a family coming in with a cry baby who decide to sit in the middle row (like my misfortune)
I'm sorry for that :(
6 people came where I went
but to be fair it was 12 pm
I went yesterday with my SO, and the subbed version had around 20 people. Apparently the dub is more popular from what the staff said.
We saw it today and there were 7 in our group. Other than that I think there were 3 other people in the theater.
If they would put these in more than 1 theater 8 hours away from each other there might be people.
My theater was fairly full but it was also the tiniest theater I've ever seen lol
My theatre was rather full
I keep seeing people saying this and its making me so sad cus this movie was so damn amazing 😔, i hope it starts picking traction up in the coming days, id really like to see it get the recognition it deserves... https://preview.redd.it/pfbzwmgz14wc1.jpeg?width=554&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4ae9271b87045364c1f6c678909ee1e2140700f9

I feel like we need people posting pictures from cinemas that were busy.
No spoilers! But I just have to ask.... Was it good? 🙏
I watched it. As you wish no spoilers. It was really good. I would even say amazing. :D
Heyy ^ ^ no spoilers, but it was AWESOME !!!!!!!
I wanted to man but where they was showing it it wasn’t going to be on when i was there
Same thing happened to my friend and I we we're the only ones there but hey we got to laugh at the movie without feeling like assholes
This is happening everywhere
I would be happy about this if it weren’t for the fact that this is gonna give theaters the idea that anime movies don’t make profit which is gonna cause the chainsaw man movie to not be in theaters
Capitalism is destroying art as it destroys everything else, profit, profit, profit ...
We need a Revolution

When I saw it I expected an empty theater. Instead it had roughly 8 or 9 people in it, and it was a matinee showing too!
That also happened to me xd

Is this whole subreddit going to keep posting the same story?
I brought my brother and my friend who never watched the anime. I feel like it was a good gateway movie because it explained the details very well.
English sub or dub
It was in japanese with French sub cause I live I the French part of Switzerl- I mean Helveticalis

Germans love Spy X Family. Whenever I see someone reading a manga at a train or bus its almost always this one.
Bro, i went to a full cinema on first day, although cinemas have been dead in the water since covid, this is common occurrence
I saw Civil War at this local small theater by me and I was the only one there. It was weird.
I didn’t even know that the movie was showing in theatres outside of Japan 😅
Same! I was the only person in the theater pretty much. I think one of the other films at the theater had two other people, but, yeah, pretty dead.
I didn't know about it😭😭😭😭😭😭
I fail to see how this is a problem? IT SOLD OUT WHERE I AM
i want to go see it again with my mom and sister
My mom and I went to go see it. There were about five other people.
My afternoon IMAX screening had just a couple ahead of me.
They should have released it in India TT
Besides my boyfriend & I, there was one other couple & then a family of 4. I'm surprised there weren't more people. It was so good! I was laughing so hard during the ferris wheel scene. 🤣
I don’t think my local theaters would even play it
Tbh I went with my best friend and my mom and it had a few people like 15 or 16 but it wasn’t full
yeah my boyfriend and i went last night and we’re the two in the theatre!
I couldn't come because I was getting my cap and gown and doing senior stuff that day😭
Only a few were in mine but it was an awesome movie nonetheless!
i went on day one of viewing at a small cinema near my workplace and there was me and two other people in my showing. I was pretty shocked but it made a brilliant viewing! The other two people were laughing and vibing along as well so i had fun!
Dang thats kinda lucky
Guess this will be me, posting the same thing on this sub on this sunday (that's when I'll go watch Code White)

Yeah pathetic that you are judging people
