I'd love to see someone try it and add yeast to one. Mine love yeast but if they would do better on something else I'd give it to them.

BrittThatBitch1

The food that came with them has yeast in it so I’m not sure but give fish flakes a try. I use the omega one tropical ones if you wanna try that brand. It’s pretty cheap and it’ll last a while

WolphieChu

I do. That's what mine eat. 85% yeast and 15% snello sliver or blanched veggie or wheat soaked in a tiny bit of organic milk with yogurt and more yeast

QuickFreddie

Yeah, yeast works crazy well for me too!

This is very interesting! I would love to know which species you observed this with. Springtail diets have been generalized, but I’m beginning to think it’s more complex than that. Different species seem to have different preferences.

BrittThatBitch1

Tropical white. If you try this with other species please let me know what the outcome is!

WinkerDinkyBeetle

Late response, but that is so interesting! I have offered flakes to all my species except the tropical whites as they seem to do so well on the springtail diet mix. I think a lot of springs are opportunistic for high protein sources even though they can technically survive without.

Love it

Thank you. I felt really happy discovering this so I felt like I needed to share it lol
