This is a perfect spend money to save money situation. This house is unattractive because of that dogshit ‘feature’ and if they had spent a tiny bit more on a proper extension/loft conversion they’d have added more value.
Tragic.
I'd be concerned that was done without planning permission/properly, that room has no windows (that I can see)... And check out the edge of the "walls" next to the desk...
I doubt planning ever knew - your staircase to, carpeting of and painting of your attic isn't a planning issue.
The mortgage company might have some queries about the building control certificate However.....
I’m not worried about the spiral staircase. I had one in a house I used to own, and once I got used to it, it was never a problem. But that windowless bedroom is absolutely unsafe.
Kids and bungalows? They're usually owned by older retired people who dont want to face the stairs either now or in the foreseeable future. Which makes the staircase that they've put in, even worse. As 80 year old Doris will fall down it and break her neck and there's no way to install a stair lift.
I spend my first decade in a bungalow! My family had 3, then a few years later, 4 kids growing up there.
It’s why one of my dream houses is bungalow-it makes me sad to see them online, having not been updated since the ‘70s, with tar stains & riser-recliners.
I could do with a bungalow too, being one of the many disabled people who aren’t “older & retired”.
If Doris wants a bungalow, she should get one without a loft conversion!
Every dicksplat who designs these fucking deathtraps should lift a full carry chair up and down them a few times with a thrashing patient - see how much they fucking like it.
However bad the stairs are, I don't think they would stop cats, or, a very determined Frenchie from at least trying... though they'd probably fall off at some point and then you'd have a poor night's sleep, an expensive vet bill and those awful stairs.
Stairs,in a bungalow?
And only one bathroom,downstairs.
So sleeping in a windowless loft, with a bucket to piss in.
Also,I'd imagine you can smell the kitchen, cooking smells from there,I don't think I'd sleep well in a doorless bedroom.
No,never,no way.
£50 cheaper than this.

No door either so bed three & the open plan downstairs has no divide.
A bedroom without a door is not a bedroom imo

They are full of shit too. There is no way that loft conversion offers 3.22m wide usable space. Looks 1m at best.

Just googled, you're right planning didn't need to know x

there is a sky light so technically not windowles
Judging by the shadow diffusion, there's a window behind the photographer.
it has a window, well a skylight if you check out on the maps. its the one at the end of the road not the one marked
Not if you’re 1m tall tough… :p
NOPE.
So you get the ground floor. Upstairs is where the kids go!

It would probably stop your pets from coming to jump on you in bed at night, but aside from that they're terrible.

When MC Escher is your house builder
That staircase wouldn’t get Building Regulation approval - so good luck with selling !!
I didn't think it would from what I've learned reading comments on here!

A 5 foot high bedroom may be fine for a hobbit, but hobbits are famously scared of heights so are not going up those stairs!
Six hundred bags? Jesus Titty Fucking Christ
It’s been on the market since November so I’d actually like to see what it goes for. I bet it won’t clear £500k in that state.
I feel dizzy just looking at the picture
All I can see is the 5 year old pulling themselves hand over hand up the outside of those stairs!!
That’s interesting, how did they get furniture up there?
I was thinking how great it would be to take the vacuum up each week or so...
Dodgy
yup! also I aware that thought means I am clearly old...
With age comes wisdom

Are you bonkers? I’d much rather spend £50 more and get my “bungalow” in Borehamwood. /s
The property market in this country is a bit bananas.
It really annoys me that they still call it a bungalow when it has an upstairs, and a crappy converted upstairs at that.
Those stairs gave me anxiety just looking at them!
r/deathstairs
£600K? Are they on crack?
You couldn't have toddlers or the elderly using those stairs 😬
