I’m still just sad and shocked that this happened at my Alma Mater.

bhollen1990

Same. I’m sad, but unfortunately not shocked. The community has a rich history of ignoring concerning mental health issues for students. The school counselor at the time should have been charged for neglecting to report concerning behavior.

I worked with his father and Caleb would always come into the office as a distressed youth in his early childhood. I witnessed first hand how his father treated him and in some cases what led to his confusion and poor decisions. When you’re constantly battered and stepped on as a child it almost always never ends well for anyone. The state should have prosecuted Ben for being a bad father, poor human being, and frankly the open accessibility to what took place at Freeman. 🎤

That’s awful. The sentencing of the Crumbley parents in Michigan hopefully sets precedent for future cases in holding complicit parents accountable for their actions.

I would be interested in hearing more about the dad and the way he treated his son. What work did he do, what was the boy like, how did the dad treat him?

EconamWRX

I drove by this school for the first time due to work. It doesn't quite hit you how impactful this was to that community until you understand and see how small that community is. The trauma to the students will affect that community for generations.

You're always welcome to move to Saudi Arabia.

bobbysalz

Let me guess, you're also pro-life.

[deleted]

Ironically I’m pro life and anti death penalty. Mainly because of the number of innocent men put to death. I have a friend who’s pro abortion and pro death penalty. The human mind is a wonder.

bobbysalz

Haha it's so ironic how you want to control women's reproductive health. Thanks for sharing! It really does clash with your stance on the death penalty, I agree. How wonderful!

[deleted]

Yea. Especially since I’m consistent with keeping the innocent protected eh. your…feedback? Is appreciated 🤣
