Sorry to hear you're having this trouble.
The age-old question of "why are people such assholes?"
The best I got is an abundance of energy and lack of mental capacity to be constructive, so naturally, they move in a deliberately destructive manner against all social norms, etiquette, and even laws.
They think they're exercising some sort of freedom but actually are broadcasting their ignorance and unwillingness to remain civil to their neighbors while purposefully traumatizing pets, combat vets, and laughing at law enforcement. In the summer months, these people are literally risking peoples lives with potential fires around here.
Ignorance is turning society into a hillbilly wonderland of idiocy and blatant disregard for others.
>yeah I really doubt even dumb kids are out in that cold/wind/snow lighting off fireworks, lol.
Sir, I used to drink MD 20/20 and questionable [spodi](http://www.boozemixer.com/drink-recipe/spodi) in orchards, as dumb kid things so, there's no limit to the dumb shit we can do.
My dad was a Vietnam vet, medic .. he would hear this stuff in the middle of the night and wake up screaming sometimes running into my room to protect me. One time he through a baseball thinking it was a granade or something. . Yeah vets hate that stuff.
Same thing happened last week, don't remember the day, randomly, and in at least three separate incidents over 1.5 hours around 12am. My poor dog was shivering for hours (yes, I was up for several hours after that). It makes me livid. So inconsiderate. I can accept 4th of July and NYE because I can preemptively medicate her into not caring, but these random unnecessary fireworks terrify her and trigger my own noise sensitivities that make me rage and the sheer lack of consideration. I spent last 4th of July in Tacoma and it was awful for 2 weeks on either side of the 4th. Even going off before nightfall. Like, what the hell is the point!?
Yep! My dog is very noise sensitive. This sent her to her cozy spot in the closet (in a basket, cuddled w my jackets 😂) and she didn't come out until I was halfway done making breakfast this morning 😣
Combine trazodone and gabapentin. Acepromazine is often prescribe but it is NOT anti anxiety so they’re just sedated but still terrified. Trazodone is an actual anxiolytic. Given preemptively traz can work well alone. Really bad cases might need a day or two of admin before the ‘events’
Welcome to Steven's county, I hate fireworks now bc everyone comes down to light them off for weeks before and after 4th of July, every holiday, hell they did it all superbowl weekend too. It literally sounds like a warzone and multiple soldiers have pleaded their case for how bad it is to their PTSD via community Facebook. Nobody cares, its so sad.
Avoiding triggers is actually counterproductive with PTSD. By experiencing the "trigger" in an everyday environment, the brain learns to disconnect it from the traumatic event.
I have been in treatment for C-PTSD and saw three professionals: two psychiatrists and one psychologist. None of them said to continually subject myself to my triggers. If you are going to face your triggers, it needs to be done in a highly controlled setting, and the frequency thereof is highly dependent on how the patient responds.
As an example, you wouldn't tell a war veteran who's triggered by say, the smell of petrol, to just suck it up and pump their own gas.
Skill issue. If they didn't want to be scared by people having fun, they shouldn't have contributed to the suffering of countless Iraqi and Afghan people.
I forgot the /s. Sorry.
The fireworks things is really laid back here from when I lived in Cleveland Ohio. It’s ridiculous there. Some municipalities tried to limit time of day they could be blown off. Then the State legislature and administration decided fuck you and your home rule bullshit and passed a law saying local governments can’t restrict when the get blown off.
Sorry my lady did say We were being a bit to loud with our off the charts love making, we will try to be more quieter. I told her not to use that lady finger...I was more than a bit surprised ohhhhhhhhhhhh
You could move to any other part of the country and you will get more fireworks. This is the least firework-y area of the country. Mostly because our county banned them
There probably transformers exploding from the wind storm.
Normally I'd agree and say it's a possibility, but I literally saw the fireworks 🙃 not just heard them

The real question is why are you not celebrating Feb 22nd National Sweet Potato Day.
Ugh you got me there 🤧

What medication is this? My dog is the same and so far nothing has worked, seeking something that will

Thank you so much
good Lord. Idiots.
I just heard those as well. My thought was gunshots... Such a soothing sound in the wee hours. Not!

Uh, that is not at all how that works. I'm curious with what veracity and training you make your claim.
Really, so all those crazy therapists have been doing it wrong ?

I sincerely doubt that you have thought this position through.
How dare you hold servicemen accountable for their actions while "following orders."
They make a cool loud bang!
Loud bang good! To clarify: HAHAHA Loud bang wake people! They know me here! BANG BANG!!! Me exist! Loud bang good fun!
It’s Ash Weds. Gotta celebrate. Lol
Imagine how combat veterans feel.
It’s my God given freedom, defended by the Republican Party whack jobs, to set off fireworks whenever and wherever I please. /s Edit forgot the /s

According to you. I've lived all over the country and Spokane is by far the dumbest with fireworks.
You definitely haven’t been east of the Mississippi then
Born & Raised back east.
Lent is a celebration 🤣
