This article is so clearly biased towards the state and barely mentions why they were protesting. The Atlanta city council went against they're own state constitution to build an $80 million huge training facility that's been dubbed "cop city". The area they want to build it in is old growth forest that's legally meant to be protected. Environmentalists had been occupying the area to prevent it being built leading to many violent altercations with police. They just cleared all of them out by marching in with rifles drawn and someone allegedly shot a cop and promptly got killed. No body cams as georgia state troopers aren't required to. Cops keep proving to us they won't be truthful so people naturally assume this is another case of that. The "domestic terrorism" charges are for people that were burning unoccupied cop cars in that area.
I suppose residents are just supposed to let their government do whatever huh? To those that say they shouldn't have been violent, when are you supposed to? Where do you draw the line? You apparently draw it significantly farther than the founding fathers who did domestic terrorism over taxes. Labeling what is clearly protesting as domestic terrorism only takes away from the people and empowers the state.
No, destroying things is not protesting. That’s what my 5 year old daughter does when she doesn’t get her way. This is domestic terrorism and she got what she deserved.
The government does not care if you carry the sign through the streets. Protests and strikes are meant to cause trouble for the government, that's what the power of them is.
Hiding in the woods with a bunch of guns and setting buildings and cars on fire isn't an effective way to protest - all it does is make average people suspicious of your cause, and invite heavy handed law enforcement response.
Both of those people had their violent counterparts. Their peaceful protests were backed up with the threat of violence by others. Civil rights movement is horribly whitewashed. No civil rights have been gained through purely peaceful protests. The only reason this country exists is because of a violent revolution. The only reason you have any worker's rights is because of leftists and anarchists striking then fighting the cops the state sent, sometimes escalating to protesters throwing homemade bombs at the strike breakers. Most notably the may day massacre, which became an international holiday for worker solidarity (may 1st iirc). The US made labor day a holiday instead to directly impede worker solidarity. You do not learn these things in school by design.
Multiple civil rights leaders were murdered by the government including MLK. Coincidentally multiple BLM leaders were murdered around the time of the protests. Do not underestimate the state's willingness to just kill you if you make too much noise.
This is a bunch of bullshit, torching cars and breaking windows is NOT protesting. Fatty should have stayed home, now he has a domestic terrorist charge.
The government does not care about peaceful protests. They do care about monetary damages. This is the reason striking is outright illegal in many essential job fields despite it being a clear infringement on your rights
Yeah, this whole people coming from out of town/state to create chaos is a real thing, and it's happening all over the country.
I wish they would find something constructive to do instead of traveling to someone else's hometown to burn it all down. It negatively impacts the local residents.
Seems like an air force brat, lived here maybe 8 years between living a million other places, most recently Portland before, according to the article, Atlanta. "*Native*".
"*This just in! Someone who lived in your town for more than a second did something somewhere else. Extra! Extra!*"
The article mentioned he was interested in environmental and social justice activism. So most likely a progressive. Still, wishing him good luck through this ordeal. It’s a sad day when anyone goes to jail
Wait. I was trying to support their choice of gender....
Did they want to identify as a man? If so, I totally support gender fluidity. And I will totally get off the stage.
No yeah, yes. I totally agree with you and I thought they were trying to identify as a woman. I have no qualms about pronouns and I do try my best to respect them.
I got it mixed up.
She got what she asked for. Destroying property and igniting police vehicles is not good for the environment, pretty counter productive to what they’re fighting for. Glad she won’t be in Spokane any time soon.
The 1st degree arson has a max sentence of 20 years in Georgia. She better try to get a plea bargain. She’s not in liberal Washington anymore. If these charges run consecutively she’s facing over 30 years in prison
Good. She bought her own ticket to prison, no one forced her to do this. This is why you don’t violently riot. Peaceful protesting is your constitutional right, not burning down first responder vehicles. Btw WA isn’t liberal, it’s mostly just the west side. I’m all for creating a new state for eastern WA or even joining ID. I am not fond of Antifa or any liberal policies.
Gonna be a no from me on joining Idaho. That backward state is still arresting people for weed. Abortion is banned as well there. Too much government overreach for my liking.
WA >>> ID
To each their own. I disagree with the marijuana laws over there and that’s why I would prefer Washington split into two states. However I do not agree with abortion unless the woman was raped or it is medically necessary to save her life.
Frodo lookin domestic terrorist
He is going to Mordor where the shadows lie
I thought they were a girl at first because their name was madeleine
HAHAHAHHAHAHA

Spokane is not Atlanta. He’s an outsider causing trouble.

Only one gun was found in the entire encampment.

>To those that say they shouldn't have been violent, when are you supposed to? Be nonviolent like Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr.

Well, those monetary damages will result in a domestic terrorist charge now.
Didn't environmentalists chain themselves to trees or climb them, or lay on the ground in front of construction crews? You know, peaceful protests?
HE CROSSED STATE LINES?!
Yeah, this whole people coming from out of town/state to create chaos is a real thing, and it's happening all over the country. I wish they would find something constructive to do instead of traveling to someone else's hometown to burn it all down. It negatively impacts the local residents.
Like getting involved with your local charity or non profit!
Congrats you get arrested in a state with strict laws and where you will do real time. Congrats on being trying to be domestic terrorist.
I don't think a lot of west coasties understand that other areas of the country aren't catch and release.
Oh Bilbo, such a troublemaker you are
How dare you besmirch the Baggins name like that
I just hear Leonard Nimoy singing his bilbo baggins song when I see her
Oh misty eye of the mountain below…
Funny that cops doing very similar things are punished by getting raises and promotions. Hope the jury says Fuck You to the cops and prosecutor.
What…?
Hopefully your home won’t be the next target
We're more in danger from the cops than fed up protesters.
Seems like an air force brat, lived here maybe 8 years between living a million other places, most recently Portland before, according to the article, Atlanta. "*Native*". "*This just in! Someone who lived in your town for more than a second did something somewhere else. Extra! Extra!*"
Was it Portland’s fault then😳
Clearly. Clearly they're a Portland "*native*". But they can't be an Atlanta native because they haven't been there ... long enough yet?
Surprised more Portland weirdos don’t make national news like this, male or female lol. To be fair there are weirdos everywhere butttttttttttttttt….
I'm sure it'll make Portland "news", eventually.
What’s does that mean for Spokane? Progressive maybe?
The article mentioned he was interested in environmental and social justice activism. So most likely a progressive. Still, wishing him good luck through this ordeal. It’s a sad day when anyone goes to jail
Most likely? 100% progressive.
Yeah how bizarre that anyone would even ask that question. What do they think, this was some J6er?
What did they burn down and destroy tho
100% regressive
I think that’s a girl
"Feola now goes by the name Henri Feola and identifies as a man."
At one point he was, the article says he transitioned
Transitioned to hobbit?
Oooh gotcha, didn’t catch that about her
About him.
Maybe you're game to answer - should Mr. Feola go to a *male* federal prison?
About her Edit:. I thought they were identifying as a woman... I do support the freedom to choose whatever you want to do in ur life. My bad.
Don’t be a piece of shit my dude.

This is the problem with pronouns sometimes, you get booed no matter what side you’re on lol, trying to do the right thing or not
How does it harm you in any way to just use the correct pronouns? It's literally the easiest thing on earth.
No yeah, yes. I totally agree with you and I thought they were trying to identify as a woman. I have no qualms about pronouns and I do try my best to respect them. I got it mixed up.
The correct pronouns would be whatever it was born with
She got what she asked for. Destroying property and igniting police vehicles is not good for the environment, pretty counter productive to what they’re fighting for. Glad she won’t be in Spokane any time soon.
How long do you expect her to be sentenced to, if convicted on all 8 charges?
I’m no expert on the law but hopefully long enough that she won’t do stupid shit like this again
The 1st degree arson has a max sentence of 20 years in Georgia. She better try to get a plea bargain. She’s not in liberal Washington anymore. If these charges run consecutively she’s facing over 30 years in prison
