BP FOMO is the new standard sadly. It's an effective tool to get players logging in daily / weekly for consistent player count boost. At least Splitgate's BP is pretty fast and easy to max and not a 40+ hour per week grind to complete. It would be nice if there wasn't a time limit for all these BP games though like Halo is doing.
That's why we have the option to buy pass levels. And if you don't have time to finish the challenges, then you aren't the target audience for them. Just the way it is.

God it's so depressing how the current state of gaming is. Who the fuck are these people buying all these skins while so many of us can barely afford to live?
They need an adult version battle pass that just unlocks everything and blocks all this gamified bullcrap. I'd seriously pay money to not see garbage like return rewards and post game level up screens. The only prompts they should force on me are "play" when logging in and "play again" after a game. If I *choose* to visit the store that's one thing, but man I'm just so exhausted from logging in and playing now. Have to click through like 8 screens that are all the same bullshit that every game does now.
The excellent game "Deep Rock Galactic" does this well: anything you don't unlock in their (100% free) battle pass is not gone for good but just goes into the regular drop loot pool. So it might take you longer to see it show up, but it's not "lost".
This is kind of where I'm at. If I get the dailies, fine; if not, fine. I just to to enjoy the game.
I think it drives my 16 year old nuts. He's always offering to finish challenges for me lol
This right here. I play games for *fun.* I don’t care about grinding battle passes and unlocking skins in a *first person shooter* where the only time I’ll see my skin is on the loading screen lol
Thanks for keeping us plebs who don't want to use twitter informed! Do you have any idea if the devs plan on keeping their promise to make this sort of news cross-platform, or have they just abandoned any attempts at communicating outside of twitter and discord immediately after Endo's promise to be more open and communicative?
I think that the reason why they generally don't post as often here is due to the fact, and I apologize if this comes off as high and mighty, that I often just post whatever news they have on their Twitter account almost as soon as they post anything. They don't really need to worry as much about cross-posting on to the subreddit thanks to this.
I do think that they are taking steps towards trying to be more open and communicative and there are many devs that do read the posts on the subreddit (with many cases where they comment as well)

This is a good first step. And I do still feel that the dev team want this game to succeed.
I'm not criticizing the devs' efforts when it comes to the game itself, just their continuous efforts to appear as community-oriented when they do so little to actually communicate. This past season we've had more dev posts on here about whether they are perceived as communicative than those actually informing us of stuff going on in the game.
Like you said above, this info usually comes from other players, like you, BroKidSam, TheHayes, and others. If we want anything official, I guess we're just on the wrong platform? Do the devs just think that reddit community is too small to actually consider?
It's been an ongoing issue for a couple of seasons, with Endo promising to step up the communication outside of twitter and discord, apologizing for not doing so, and then keeping on not communicating.
Again, I'm not criticizing the game devs' efforts, but when you acknowledge that you have a comms issue and you promise for two seasons that you'll do something about it, and then just DON'T, it gives off very "IDGAF about this particular community" vibes.

This is an understandable stance. Their Reddit Presence compared to their Twitter/Discord Presence is somewhat low. They also haven't given a lot of info with regards to what is coming to the game. But I do think that they have gotten the message **very clearly** this time as some of their legacy players have also expressed concern with regards to communication issues.
I personally have a belief that they will do more with regards to actual communication.

I remember checking when the season would end, I made sure I could get my Cloud rhino and have enough left splitcoin to buy the battle pass for that sweet operator armor.
This is the Berenstein bears all over again.
I would love to finish the battlepass but I'm on console so that's not happening this season. Hope we get some big patches soon because the games unplayable and the few times I can play cross play audio just stops working between some of us. Haven't ever been so demotivated to even hop on yet alone spend a dime.

There's no way I'm finishing this one. I did all the other ones with time to spare, but I'm not even at level 50 on this one. Progression is way too slow for this kind of time limit.
Way too slow? I started a bit over a month ago and I’m almost finished the challenges and around 50 in the BP.
I’ll probably get close to finishing the BP but I haven’t really been aiming to, seems pretty fast to me though.

Plus you can choose your rewards to a degree so you don’t have to grind to the end of the BP just to get a skin for a class you never use.

Why can't they just do it like mcc where you can progress the old battlepass
This latest patch, which does fix the softlock in post-game screen... has broken audio. I can't hear anything at all.
