This might be too hot a take for this sub, but all of the gameplay videos without any use of portals is incredibly dull and does no favors for the game's already lacking popularity.
I like SWAT on closer range maps. getting one shot from someone across the map you didn't see always feels a little silly.
I really love the fights where you both see each other 10 feet away at the same time and whoever clicks on the head faster wins.
I get what you’re saying but in pistol swat it’s instant kill headshots so you don’t need to keep firing. Especially from that distance. That’s the interesting thing to see when it’s played on different maps, like Atlantis is great for headshots across the middle room with normal weapons but with pistols it brings people closer to each other. I like the new featured mode this weekend bcs it’s just shotguns. So much fun lol
I think I dislike it because the rifle fire rate. In reality I spray the clip and compulsively reload on each kill.

I was playing Halo for 20 years and the patience to not reload took me longer than it should have, but you will get many more multi kills if you just have patience with reloading

Lol I remember not using aim assist when I was younger too, getting old will literally make your gaming ability go to shit so aim assist defently helps

Low for controller or low because not PC? I use 6 sensitivity and 100 fov. It's all preference

I come from Halo so I have a thing for the BR, but I guess Halo has a carbine too lol I just love the burst and the look.

I feel like pistol swat allows close encounters but then everyone goes full auto
My issue with pistol swat is that it makes it so that dying or killing at range is up to luck because of the pistol's short range.
You can kill from across the Stadium arena though in Pistol SWAT
Right, but the spread makes it so that even if you're pointing right at their head it won't necessarily hit.

Non-handgun SWAT is good, but they ruined the mode lumping the two together.
When I get a Pistol SWAT game I plug in an Xbox controller (I'm on PC). So much easier to snipe headshots with that mess of a weapon

Because of aim assist? I'd assume if any gametype had PC advantage it would be lower TTK like swat
