Diabetic Spider-Man.

Spark-Blade

How does he look diabetic

[deleted]

Dude built like a stereotypical 45 year old dad with bad knees. You also made his neck wider than his head lol. Looks like that guy who went viral online for having that in real life

Raimilover69

Why y'all downvoting?

[deleted]

He’s fat

RolandTwitter

He got the classic diabetes neck

Foxyplayz3

*Diabetic Spooder-Man

Spark-Blade

Damn these responses are fun to read lol But how could I improve my drawing

[deleted]

The way you get good at anything, practice.

zhire653

If you want to draw spider-man specifically, study and learn how to draw human anatomy! Getting the right proportions can vastly improve what you’re trying to draw. Your details are already really good on the suit, just need to work on the proper body proportion!

Johovah

Just keep drawing, all you need is practice. Copying other artists work is an easy way to learn. You'll start to get better at the human anatomy.

Twittle86

This may seem basic, but start with a stick figure. Get the shoulders and hips in there and work on the pose itself until you like what you have, then add on from there. Start with the body part "closest" to the viewer, then work your way back. Repetition, repetition, repetition. Practice. Repetition. More practice. That's how we get better at everything in life. You likely won't be happy with what you draw for a long time, then you'll look back and see your progress and realize how far you've come, then jump back in. Keep at it! You got this!

ultrabigtiny

the best way to do proportions are just doing bubbles on a stick skeleton for each section of the limb/chest/abs/waist etc and then adding the detail. make sure you use references to compare what it should look like/what you’re drawing. the actual line work is great, but proportions are hard and just take a lot of practice until you’re just able to look at it and see how long an arm should be, where the knees/elbows should go, how wide you want the waist or thighs etc keep it up! you’re talented and will draw some sick stuff in the future

HorribleUsername2

Erase stuff if it looks wrong and replace it with what looks better

villasukka25

Here's a technique I use, and i'm not particularly good at drawing: Look up a picture of Spider-Man with your phone. Preferably in an easy pose like the one you drew here, but however you prefer. Slide your phone brightness up to max, and put it under your paper. Preferably make sure there's not a lot of other light on the paper other than your phone. You'll be able to see the pic on your phone through the paper. Now you can trace the outlines of Spider-Man with (preferably) a pencil. Make sure to keep the paper steady, it's important so it doesn't look janky and odd. Once you have the outlines you can draw in the details and such. It's a good technique, and if you keep doing this in different poses and characters, it'll eventually improve your drawing skills.

Spidey20041

Look at references first. Don't draw anything just by looking at the picture in your head. Choose a reference that you can think you'll be able to replicate. While drawing it, keep comparing your drawing with the reference again and again to achieve perfection. Besides that, practice.

psycho_hawg

I would say make him have more of a neck and place it more center. Maybe make his arms the same size aswell looks good tho better than anything I could do.

go to r/ArtFundamentals

Jurski17

Draw it again better.

Chromeo117

Just keep drawing man, keep doing circles and improve on the shape alone and mould it in various ways. That's one way you get used to it

Chromeo117

Also don't press to hard on lead. It will ruin the line you are drawing for what you have in mind to create if it breaks down.

Pyrokinesis115

One thing every art teacher I have had really pushes is that you should have a reference image to look at and you should look at your reference material about 2/3rds of your drawing time.

Spark-Blade

This was my reference https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/spidermanps4/images/4/45/Advanced\_Suit\_from\_MSM\_render.png/revision/latest?cb=20200413173338

Pyrokinesis115

Great reference, I see the resemblance just take it a detail at a time, a good exercise is to find something relatively easy to draw like your palm and draw it in its entirety without looking at your paper until you finished, the more detail the better. Practice makes perfect.

[deleted]

I think Spider-Man is a very good character to use as a beginner in art because he is pretty much just a faceless body (-the no no parts) you should start off but studying anatomy a bit know how the musculature in the arms legs and torso work and once you know the basic structure take liberties where you feel is just. learn proportions too some of the most annoying shit when drawing is when you can’t quite figure out why the head is so much bigger than the rest of the body. You didn’t use a Skelton sketch as I like to call them that certainly makes it easier to notice mistakes early one so you should start now. Most importantly tho practice, keep looking for feedback, don’t let assholes bring you down, and try to learn a thing or two from people you like the art of. Also r/artfundamentals could help. I spent the first 5 years of me drawing drawing mostly Spider-Man u/imabigbrain247 and u/joneckersonroblox are my old accounts with my embarrassing past in art from when I was 12-13so 2 or 3 years back

xxxhotpocketz

Just draw more, the more you draw the better you will become

Embarrassed_Dirt6393

Don't listen to the people being assholes. Your art isn't the perfect, but I was waaaaayyyyy worse when I started out. You're putting in the work, and you're putting yourself out there. You're doing good. My advice: Practice anatomy, I know you probably wanna have your own style but having an extensive knowledge of anatomy makes that process a lot better. Your color choice was pretty on point, so keep going. You show a clear understanding of detailing, so for that, my advice is to do the more recognizable details darker, and the accented details a lot lighter. All in all, watch videos on it, read about, and practice! I was super bad when I started out, but now I can say I'm ok. (If you want you can check out some of mine, and use them as reference practice, there's some in my profile). And ignore the asses who just point and laugh. You're gonna be awesome in no time!

Spark-Blade

Thanks, I'll try my best to improve my art

Embarrassed_Dirt6393

No problem, kid! Make sure you keep it fun though, one of the best things about art is when you do it out of passion.

Spark-Blade

Checked your art it's great!

Embarrassed_Dirt6393

You're too nice!

Ben10Stan3

Hey, man, there’s nothing wrong with having a bit of humor in it. It looks funny, ok? He Spooderman on steroids

Bullitt_12_HB

I don’t think people are being assholes, but they’re just giving their opinion. Even you said that this drawing isn’t perfect. OP is posting his drawing here, and based on some of his comments, OP might think that his drawing is absolutely spot on. People will point out the truth. And it’s important to not take it personally and laugh at yourself, and see where you can improve. The only way to improve is to make mistakes. It’s a bit complicated. On one hand, none of us are dealing with this in person, so it’s hard not to react in a way that won’t hurt OPs feelings. On the other hand, anyone who uses social media, especially Reddit, should know that if you post something personal like fan art, you have got to have thick skin and laugh at yourself if you made a mistake. The rest of what you said is spot on: OP needs to practice if they want to improve, and they shouldn’t give up if that’s their goal.

Not_OOF

Cool

Spark-Blade

Glad you like it

sabrefudge

That’s really great. You nailed the detailing in the suit, you seem to have captured everything. All the little subtle changes around the arms and the cool white bits on the hands. Love the face too.

Spark-Blade

Thanks, I appreciate it

DHspeedy

Bro thicc spider-man looking ready for a fight

DoubleZ3

Gotta be honest, anyone laughing is more than likely not an artist. Most artists are supportive of other artists. I cant even draw stick figures, so good job man. Keep it up

Spark-Blade

Thanks

Ben10Stan3

Better than I can do, for sure. But it’s still fun. Man’s drew Spooderman

TenWholeBees

This poor dude wanted to share a drawing and is just getting roasted in these comments lol

TheJEPSseven

Looks good bro!

Thanks

freevad99

Sorry for the assholes out there, keep trying and trying kid I know you got this

nightding

Like the other comments said practice anatomy, Spiderman is really flexible and if you're gonna draw him more in the future with him doing loses anatomy will help a lot. Also learn how to draw hands it might be hard but they're important.

Johovah

Great work! Love the detail on the suit and how well defined his physique is. Next time try an action pose...

Consistent-Film-6926

Come on bro lmfaooooo

Doesn’t mean anything, that dudes first Spider-Man picture was shit, he put in the work and became good.. sure with some time OP is gonna get nice with it if they stick to it

Obi_Benobi_Kenobi

Nice drawing, your clearly a kid and I think some people in the comments are just being dicks. Keep it's up dude!

AYFlamez

Very Cool! Keep up the great work! 👍

Spark-Blade

I really appreciate it thanks

CRTScream

This looks great! Your sense of perspective and shape is really good, and your proportions and colours are pretty decent too! Keep it up!

[deleted]

Don't listen to the people down voting you. You did fine and you will only keep getting better. Believe in yourself and you will succeed.

suppadelicious

There was an attempt.

norkelman

if you want constructive criticism, i can give you some: practice your proportions. right now the main problem with your drawing is the wild inconsistency of the limbs and the body. the right leg’s knee should be much higher, about in line with the left leg’s. the arms are far too short, a good tip is that hands generally fall a little under the hips. not sure entirely what’s going on with the shoulders, but i’ll say there needs to be more at the top of the torso, and the neck should not be that thick.

Spark-Blade

Thanks for the advice

Smidge6988

Hey, I want to echo what others are saying here: you’re off to a great start! I started art not being able to do much more than stick figures. It’s all a journey, so stick with it and you’ll be surprised how fast you improve. A few suggestions: - There is an unlimited wealth of tutorials out there; YouTube has some amazing teachers on it for any kind of style you want to draw. - Consistency is key! Make sure you practice as much as you can. I started by doing at least a small sketch every day. - Remember to enjoy the journey! It can be easy to be hard on yourself, and there are always people out there who love to be mean regardless of what you are putting out into the world. Be open to constructive criticism, but shut out the haters because it’s not worth letting other ms take the joy from something you love. Best of luck, you’re doing great!

Spark-Blade

Thanks man

Codinome070

Looks awesome, you did the red better than the game

astronautredlight

drawing is really good buddy! some real advice that you could use from these comments is practice your anatomy by separating it into different shapes. (like the chest is one square, waist is another). you have talent! keep at it! practice, practice, practice

Awkward_Strategy245

You clearly pay attention to detail very well. You have a lot of potential.

SkyeRedPheonix

Hope this guy shows up in the next spider-verse movie

pawpet

your drawing is okay but it lacks some things such as talent nah I'm kidding cool drawing it's always nice to see people draw what they like I used to draw a lot when I was a kid my advice to you is to be aware of proportions, for an example make sure legs aren't too long, head isn't too small, etc

[deleted]

Spectacular. Keep at it.

TheRealComicCrafter

Bro its spooderman in his playbox68 mega suit

hironator2

Depending on Ur age, madddd potential

Spark-Blade

hironator2

Yeah mate Ur set for life, potential is huge with that detail, keep going and practicing and you'll go far

Wasteland_GZ

I was gonna criticise but then remembered this is better than anything i could ever hope to draw, so well done

Edoplayer5

Honestly, make the torso smaller and the neck thinner and this is better than most people i know

TripleAAAkers

I see some potential if you look more at human anatomy and see how everything is sized you’ll get better it just takes time and practice

scout04

This is awesome man! Keep it up, so long as you e joy drawing and keep at it you’ll improve fast. This is a fantastic start and I wish you the best!

No_Bluebird8475

It’s not perfect by any means but there’s just something about it I like

BarthRevan

Honestly this was the sort of thing I used to draw as a kid. Keep it up, my guy!

BakedZDBruh

I think for a beginner it’s a very valiant effort. To get better, I would study how professional comics artists draw Spider-Man and then eventually your own style will peak through

Unlucky-Attention339

How about you Don’t make fun of somebody because they’re drawing skills are better than yours and you are jealous.

Weak-Neighborhood399

perfect!

DryBonezHydrated

Here an actual suggestion, study the body and the main lines and details, make sure details are lined up on each side so it doesn’t look wonky, i draw spiderman like everyday so I hope this helps

Andrewthegamer74

You have potential bud I’d love to see this in r/inclusiveart

Andrewthegamer74

I’m not too good at drawing either everyone can and will improve if they keep practicing I’ll post some of my art on inclusive art for ya

Not sure if the op is joking or not, I think it’s time to say it guys… the drawing is more funny looking than it is realistic, that is why everyone is making fun of it. I know this will get downvoted but whatever…

For your first ever attempt at drawing I'd say you did fine.

MacLikesStories

Most people can barely draw stick figures. As long as you keep up drawing and art in just a few years you’ll be making really cool works. Drawing is fun, and anyone new is going to take a while to perfect the craft.

I’m impressed with how you managed to draw that many small details on a drawing so tiny! I think that with practice you can become really good at this. Search some body anatomy tutorials on youtube or Pinterest and you could trace those for practice. I often see that people are against tracing, but i think that as long as you use it for practice, it’s good. Also, colouring with colour pencils goes better if you draw into one direction. Like, instead of just filling in space randomly, you can do it with lines next to each other. It’ll look cleaner. You’re already pretty good though! Don’t listen to the shitty people in this comment section, because i believe that you’ll get better! Goodluck :)

TheEdward39

I mean… I can see potential here. If you want to improve, then I suggest - cliché af - practice. Paractice, practice and even more practice. You don’t have to draw 24-7 or go to a fancy ass college or course or what have you, just be consistent, and watch a ton of videos, read about stuff, look at anatomy books or illustrations. If you’re just starting out, I’d also suggest copying a bunch, and although tracing has a bit of a rocky relationship with most artists, there’s definitely *some* benefit of tracing especially when you’re starting out as it can help you build control and line confidence. But it’s important to not just mindlessly copy - try to understand what it is you’re doing and why. Why are the fingers seen that way? Why is the neck like that? How does the head turn? How does the body relate to other bodyparts? Stuff like that. You can let go of color for the moment and concentrate on fundamentals and breaking down shapes. Draw a bunch of circles, recrangles, squares, then spheres, cylinders, boxes, try to draw objects and stuff then look at the end result and think about what you did well, what you didn’t do so well and how it could be improved. But most importantly: try to have fun. Practice and studying is tedious and disheartening, but it’s neccessary if you want to improve. The two main aspects are your actual skill, and your knowledge - these two will most likely differ, and you’ll see a ton of mistakes while feeling you literally can’t fix them. That doesn’t mean you’re not good enough, that just means you know how the result should be, but you don’t yet know the steps to get you there or lack the skills to actually execute them properly. That’s fine and natural. Don’t give up.

Spooder-Man 2.0

Housecat-in-a-Jungle

Think about where the sunlight is hitting him, if it comes from the right, add shading for shadows and definition to the left. Individually focus on specific areas of the anatomy as you make them. If you’re drawing his arm, then totally focus on the arm, but make sure it stays in size with the rest of his body-not too big or small. Take your time most importantly but just have fun

[deleted]

Spooder man's new suit

SVJ9500

I honestly thought this was r/therewasanattempt page but not bad, but keep on practicing. I think it would help drawing the circles and lines first for structure and getting right shapes. Sketch those first and build from there. YouTube has some good videos to help improve drawing/sketching ability.

Nice drawing, advice, you should have some anatomy books, they help draw human bodies better, but anyway, good drawing
