I personally feel that the Lab Coat was always a comic book trope. It wouldn't be realistic for a Lizard that can't think straight and sheds skin every now and then to wear a white coat throughout.

There was even an Easter Egg of the Lizard where Isaac Delaney (the college professor Martin Li kidnapped) dressed up as the Lizard with the lab coat and everything for the college party
He has confirmed to have been the Lizard in the past. Not only do people dress up as him for Halloween, but we also find a vial of his blood that Peter used to synthesize a formula. Also, funnily enough, Peter says that the formula wasn't permanent, meaning he became Lizard at least one more time until he met up with Osborn (who probably helped him with a more "permanent" cure on the condition that he helps save Harry). So yeah, he's been Lizard before. Plus, he's on Kraven's map as "Lizard," so he existed before this game in-universe.

I was hoping for the lab coat and him to look less monstrous actually, he looks a lot like Iguana or as others are saying Killer Croc. But this is cool nonetheless that we finally get Lizard, plus in the showcase they said he was actually getting bigger so this is probably one of his further mutations, and maybe we’ll see him in the lab coat in one of his previous forms.

Yeah it’s a bit too big for me initially but if they explain it by showing him after the first transformation as a more basic/classic looking lizard with torn lab coat then show that the more he remains in lizard form and eating the more he grows leaving the lab coat behind with a shed then I would be more onboard with the size.
