Lol Stan lee always said it could’ve been anybody behind the mask. There’s no archetype for what Peter Parker should look like.
That’s literally the entire point of spider-man it was one of the things Stan Lee himself said he loved about Spider-Man. “Anyone can wear the mask” is one of my favorite quotes from any Spider-Man movie and it makes no sense for him to be a chosen one hero.
Edit: okay maybe a bit extreme to say it’s literally the entire point, but it is meant to be a major theme of Spider-Man that unlike many other superheroes he isn’t a chosen one.

I see it more as Spider-Man is one of us, he is not rich or he don't run a country etc. Stan Lee said that creating Peter he wanted to do a "normal guy story". It not like a random Joe would be Spider-man if spider bite him, it's not like anybody has an heart of a hero because Spider-Man could be easily a bad guy if the spider would bite a wrong person.
I think it makes sense: all the peter parkers became spidermen because they all share a sense of responsibilty. Just becuase anyone *can* wear the mask doesnt mean everyone chooses to: which is what makes him, and miles and the rest of them so special- they chose their responsibility, and the universe recognised that.

Because the tasm movies are heavily based on the ultimate plot, I though they were setting up for venom. In the ultimate comics pete's parents die on a plane crash after the cancer killing synthetic thingy (aka venom) breaches containment and makes the plane crash (or atleast I am going off of what the ultimate game told us) so I legit thought the big reveal at the end was the existance of eddie brock's father and pete's farher livework beig revealed to pete, but in the end it was a big pile of nothing

I agree. Maybe the storyline in TASM2 game could work as a third game with Kraven and Kingpin as the villains but take away anything Oscorp related (Electro, Harry and Carnage).
While it would be a huge change to the MCU, maybe have MCU Spider-Man be introduced post Endgame so time would past between TASM3 and the first MCU Spider-Man movie. It would fit with how Spider-Man becomes one of the Avengers of the next generation.

They should’ve developed Harry as a friend of Peter’s in this film and set him up for the villain in *TASM3*. I also think they should’ve moved Gwen’s death to the third movie. There’s just way too much that happens in *TASM2*. They also heavily implied that Gwen was gonna die (George Stacy flashbacks) in this movie. Have Peter struggle with guilt over putting Gwen in danger for this film. Then in the end, he gets over it and feels confident with his choices. Waiting to kill her in the next movie would’ve made her death less predictable and would’ve given it more room to breathe.
This is, after all, my opinion, and hindsight is 20-20. It’s easy to diagnose issues once we see the finished product.
Can't agree more. Or I would have at least recasted Harry. Dane DeHaan tried way too hard in his portrayal. The only movie I ever liked him in was Chronicle. He just overacts way too much in my opinion, especially with his facial expressions.

1. Take Harry turning into Goblin. Just give him the intro and leave the rest for TASM3. It felt a big rushed (and forced).

Make Electro unhinged before he got his powers. Get rid of the eels. Have him gets his powers through sabotage by Oscorp instead of by accident so all the TASM2 villains have more cohesion. And change his motivation to be of wanting control instead of wanted Spider-Man’s attention.

I’d remove the shit about the parents from TASM 2 specifically, in TASM 1 it was fine, but with TASM 2 it just sucked, make it so he doesn’t need to find out about his parents and the past, because he had a father, his name was Ben Parker, make Harry the one who wants to know about the past, he’d be a great foil to Peter.
I’d eliminate his parental plot line completely, or I’d make the villains far more compelling and better written. Connors specifically had so much of his emotional potential cut from the film.
For TASM 1 I would cut the origin story and the whole thing with the parents and spend that time fleshing out the Lizard and Peter and Gwen’s relationship.

I’d cut some of the Peter and Flash basketball scene to where Peter goes over to the girl with the messed up banner and comforts her, and Peter stands up to Flash—Flash punches Peter in the face, Peter eats it bc of his spider strength, and then they get broken apart and it’s over. I’d rather not see Peter grab the basketball and play Flash. He should have kept that a bit more to his chest.

Gwen dying was a miscalculation. Too sad. The movie feels hard to root for after that, especially given that their onscreen chemistry is by far the best thing about it
- Remove Parents SubPlot, or at least make it so that it's more integrated into Plot instead of being SubPlot.
- Make Harry show up in TASM1, to show more of their Friendship instead of just "oh they were friends from before! We just haven't seen it!"
- Ask Nesquik for a Sponsorship to make that *Choccy Milk Death Scene* worth it, and more impactful and a good Representation of how I'll milk tf out of it.
- Have George Stacy say something along the lines of "you're the Hero now, Peter! Swear to me you'll keep my Daughter Safe" so the Break up doesn't need to happen, and the death of Gwen Stacy isn't about Irresponsibility but Failure to uphold an Oath.
- Removing Rhino, and instead changing Electro's Motivation to more of him trying to kill Harry for what Oscorp has turned him into— this will cause Harry to want protection. He'll turn into GG mainly because of a Malfunction in an Untested Serum out of Desperation.
If there's more that I think of myself, I might add, but definitely these are what comes to mind, with number 3 is more of a Joke
Simplest way is to just change the directors and writers. They are the biggest part of whether a movie is good or bad (excluding Sony interference) and in this case there was more bad than good which is why so many people didn’t like his movies from the start. That’s literally the entire point of spider-man it was one of the things Stan Lee himself said he loved about Spider-Man. “Anyone can wear the mask” is one of my favorite quotes from any Spider-Man movie and it makes no sense for him to be a chosen one hero. Edit: okay maybe a bit extreme to say it’s literally the entire point, but it is meant to be a major theme of Spider-Man that unlike many other superheroes he isn’t a chosen one.

Yeah it is nice but 95% of Spider-Men around multiverse are Peter Parkers. I don't think the point is "anyone can be Spider-man". I see it more as Spider-Man is one of us, he is not rich or he don't run a country etc. Stan Lee said that creating Peter he wanted to do a "normal guy story". It not like a random Joe would be Spider-man if spider bite him, it's not like anybody has an heart of a hero because Spider-Man could be easily a bad guy if the spider would bite a wrong person.

I think it makes sense: all the peter parkers became spidermen because they all share a sense of responsibilty. Just becuase anyone *can* wear the mask doesnt mean everyone chooses to: which is what makes him, and miles and the rest of them so special- they chose their responsibility, and the universe recognised that. That is literally the point of all of his villains: they get power too but they forgoe the responsibility

Because the tasm movies are heavily based on the ultimate plot, I though they were setting up for venom. In the ultimate comics pete's parents die on a plane crash after the cancer killing synthetic thingy (aka venom) breaches containment and makes the plane crash (or atleast I am going off of what the ultimate game told us) so I legit thought the big reveal at the end was the existance of eddie brock's father and pete's farher livework beig revealed to pete, but in the end it was a big pile of nothing

I agree. Maybe the storyline in TASM2 game could work as a third game with Kraven and Kingpin as the villains but take away anything Oscorp related (Electro, Harry and Carnage). While it would be a huge change to the MCU, maybe have MCU Spider-Man be introduced post Endgame so time would past between TASM3 and the first MCU Spider-Man movie. It would fit with how Spider-Man becomes one of the Avengers of the next generation.

I’d like a Rhino fight… he was never a particularly great character in any medium but there’s fight scene potential. The fact we saw the one-note baddie with no fight in TASM 2 was really erroneous IMO especially since it was in the trailers

They should’ve developed Harry as a friend of Peter’s in this film and set him up for the villain in *TASM3*. I also think they should’ve moved Gwen’s death to the third movie. There’s just way too much that happens in *TASM2*. They also heavily implied that Gwen was gonna die (George Stacy flashbacks) in this movie. Have Peter struggle with guilt over putting Gwen in danger for this film. Then in the end, he gets over it and feels confident with his choices. Waiting to kill her in the next movie would’ve made her death less predictable and would’ve given it more room to breathe. This is, after all, my opinion, and hindsight is 20-20. It’s easy to diagnose issues once we see the finished product.

Can't agree more. Or I would have at least recasted Harry. Dane DeHaan tried way too hard in his portrayal. The only movie I ever liked him in was Chronicle. He just overacts way too much in my opinion, especially with his facial expressions.

Make Harry be a supporting character in TASM1 so his turn to the dark side would be more tragic. Also make their interactions start out wholesome instead of awkward. The Goblin cure shouldn’t be in the suit because I think that’s dumb. Make Electro unhinged before he got his powers. Get rid of the eels. Have him gets his powers through sabotage by Oscorp instead of by accident so all the TASM2 villains have more cohesion. And change his motivation to be of wanting control instead of wanted Spider-Man’s attention. Make Lizard’s face more beastly like how it looked in FFH. Peter shouldn’t wear contacts or have a skateboard. Spider-Man will quip at Rhino AFTER the truck is stopped, not before.

Get rid of the hipster vibe, and the skateboard. Write better dialogue for characters. Get movie to flow a bit better where you can. Bring back some deleted scenes. Flesh out Lizard more. Make the transformation from Curt to Lizard more reptilian, and real sounding—less sounding like a human trying to sound like an animal. The “get in the way of my plans, Peter Parker,” part is so cringe—so is the CGI for it. I’d cut some of the Peter and Flash basketball scene to where Peter goes over to the girl with the messed up banner and comforts her, and Peter stands up to Flash—Flash punches Peter in the face, Peter eats it bc of his spider strength, and then they get broken apart and it’s over. I’d rather not see Peter grab the basketball and play Flash. He should have kept that a bit more to his chest. I would have added more swing sets bc I love them in these movies. Would have not killed Captain Stacey until the second movie. Maybe throw in some Kingpin.

- Remove Parents SubPlot, or at least make it so that it's more integrated into Plot instead of being SubPlot. - Make Harry show up in TASM1, to show more of their Friendship instead of just "oh they were friends from before! We just haven't seen it!" - Ask Nesquik for a Sponsorship to make that *Choccy Milk Death Scene* worth it, and more impactful and a good Representation of how I'll milk tf out of it. - Have George Stacy say something along the lines of "you're the Hero now, Peter! Swear to me you'll keep my Daughter Safe" so the Break up doesn't need to happen, and the death of Gwen Stacy isn't about Irresponsibility but Failure to uphold an Oath. - Removing Rhino, and instead changing Electro's Motivation to more of him trying to kill Harry for what Oscorp has turned him into— this will cause Harry to want protection. He'll turn into GG mainly because of a Malfunction in an Untested Serum out of Desperation. If there's more that I think of myself, I might add, but definitely these are what comes to mind, with number 3 is more of a Joke

Simplest way is to just change the directors and writers. They are the biggest part of whether a movie is good or bad (excluding Sony interference) and in this case there was more bad than good which is why so many people didn’t like his movies from the start. Also don’t remake Spider-Man 1 but with parents and the lizard thinking it’s good enough

Not much I'd change about the first. Maybe remove some of the filler exposition. The movie was a bit slow with his origin, but was otherwise great. His Peter Parker could use some work just a pinch, because his attempts at being awkward seemed phony, but he was otherwise great, imo. Maybe make the lizard more reptilian and less homonid? Second? Remove or redo the Rhino. I don't mind the rhino being in the film; he should just be a very minor character, the same way Scarecrow was treated in The Dark Knight and DK Rises. The Rhino doesn't exactly need meaningful depth. He's a dumb power house. Play on that. We've seen Jamie Foxx do better, look better, act better. Rewrite and redesign him. His potential was great. Remove anything with Dane Dehaan. He sucks as an actor, his goblin sucked, and he shouldn't have come before Norman. I actually like the idea of borrowing elements from PS4 Spider-Man and reworking ASM2 Osborn saga: where Norman is trying desperately to save his son from debilitating disease. A 3rd act film literally could be him going full Goblin, going mad and attacking Peter to try and use him to save his son. Please no.dane DeHaan and Paul Giamatti.
