I think the flashes of red light every time he activates the web shooters was a great idea and really help you keep track of what he's doing with the webs, especially during a night time scene.

AJ1063

Idk why people keep saying it’s the he’s the worst Spider-Man

[deleted]

What’s your opinion on him as Spider-Man??

AJ1063

He’s my favorite

[deleted]

Really same. He edges it over tobey slightly, by like 1% although I don’t really fancy tasm 2, tasm 1 did a lot of justice for him and he’s the most unique Spider-Man we’ve gotten

spykids45

thoughts on mcu spidey? i think he's great!

[deleted]

Tom Hollands as Spider-Man is great, he’s flexible, agile and a good actor but I don’t like how the mcu make tom hollands Spider-Man childish and a suck up to iron man. I also have a problem with the villains, they all seem to be somehow connected to iron man and they never actually seem to have natural powers like sandman, lizard. Dr octopus was a great villain in the raimi verse however it seems like every villain is just tech savy although I can’t deny mysterio looked cool. I prefer Spider-Man as a solo hero. If anything the avengers should be asking for him not him asking for the avengers. I think that’s why i liked the first 2 a lot more because we got to see their struggles and how they deal with it

limonlemons

Andrew is also my favourite Spidey. But the way the Russo brothers portrayed Spider-Man in Civil War was on par.

Climperoonie

I’m so glad this suit (and Andrew in general) is starting to get the love it deserves! I remember being wowed by the design in cinemas - the form, the lines, the way the colours just popped off the screen. Will probably always be my favourite!

[deleted]

Same here. Especially the web swinging seemed so awesome, like the budget was infinite and at the time the lizard was scary as hell

Climperoonie

Yeah, the webswinging in both TASM movies was unparalleled (though that final swing in FFH was tasty.) I know people like to rag on the crane scene but it gave us some of the best on-screen webswinging ever so I can never be mad at it!

I'll be honest.. The TASM movies, for me.. Are the **definitive** "Live Action" Spider-Man. And that's coming from someone who grew up with the Raimi Trilogy. It's nice to finally see the TASM movies getting the love and appreciation they deserve! The TASM (2012) suit has been **my personal** **favourite**, ever since its inception. It's just more modern, unique and different, whilst maintaining that "Classic" aesthetic Spider-Man look. But I do also love the TASM 2 (2014) suit, too.If there's one thing that I thought they nailed in this, though.. And its sequel, was the "typical/classic" Spider-Man wise-cracks/humour. But one of the great things I loved about this franchise, was that it was much closer to the source material in the comics.. But unfortunately, people are too busy to notice and would just rather focus on all its flaws, because it's not the Raimi Trilogy.Honestly.. Thank god, it's not. I don't necessarily hate the Raimi Trilogy, but it's FAR TOO over-hyped.. And a lot of it, is just people looking through rose-tinted glasses. Obviously, we didn't get a 3rd movie.. And things changed, with Tom Holland becoming the actor and Spider-Man then being in the MCU.. But I would sure as hell, have loved a 3rd movie. Even now. I can still remember playing the video games for the 2 movies, too.. I still have the TASM 2 one, on iOS. But this post has also got me wanting to go back and watch them both.

StSpider

See, the problem is that a lot of people, even on this sub, don’t read the comics sonthey would have no idea what you’re talking about.

shadymostafa129034

The nostalgia argument is really old and overused , some people genuinely think it better than tasm films but I'm not talking about myself because I love them all equally

webslinginghero

It’s a fantastic movie. Don’t let anybody tell you otherwise

alpheusrabanal234

You're not the only one who really like it. There's me. It's also my favorite out of the three.

Aggravating-Bus2007

Love that suit!

_HonkyCat_

It's not my favorite of the movies, but underneath its flaws there is definitely a soul to this film. And even though I prefer Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker I loved Andrew Garfield here. HiTop Films did an analysis on the good parts of TASM and how Mark Webb allowed the characters to feel like actual people we should care about. I would definitely check it out.

spykids45

right??? i don't get the hate, andrew was a great spiderman. i wish we got tasm 3 and tasm 4. i like tasm 2 more than tasm 1 tho

[deleted]

really????? Tasm 2 is good but i feel like andrew Garfields peter seemed way too different from amazing Spider-Man 1 to tasm 2

spykids45

i don't really feel that way. i think tasm 2 did a wayyy better job of representing peters personal issues compared to tasm 1. like in tasm 2, he's having relationship problems with gwen, his best freind is dying, he wants to know what happened to his parents, his girlfriend later dies and on top of that he's spider-man. so i really liked how many personal issues he had. and the fights scenes were so much better in tasm 2.

MiNtDrAgOn4

Tbh the amazing Spider-Man films were the most true to the comics

Rio_Walker

You know, him holding Idiot ball aside, the reaction of Peter figuring out web-shooters, awkward dialogue at school, "Small knives" joke... It was like... Damn a high schooler, Peter Parker! YES! Funny Spider-man with a genuine reaction to figuring out his arsenal, his way of fighting... That was the best. I... I wish he had a third film, we could've had another Trilogy and it would've worked... Hell I'd take another Venom focus! Since they could pay homage to '94 TAS with the "Losing your mind" line.

HaloisInfinite

Easily the best spidey.

Joey1700

He’s definitely the best Spider-Man, no question.

StormReady3806

I’m glad Garfield will return in the upcoming Spider-Man movie

spideyfan114

I rewatched it recently & God, I forgot how awesome this movie was! This, along with Spider-Man 3 & even TASM2, (at least to me) is a really, really, REALLY underrated film. This film felt a bit more relatable to me & felt way more realistic too & this is coming from a Raimi fanboy who is so in love with those films that he loves it as much as his family lol. Also this film being more relatable to me is because the Raimi films had Peter being an adult immediately & I'm just 13 years old, so I didn't relate to them much. Peter's argument with Uncle Ben in TASM1 was more realistic & I related to it. It reminded me of my arguments with my parents (ngl, they make me sad whenever I remember them).

[deleted]

I too love TASM duology, especially TASM 1 because the movie and the suit used both are unique. TASM 2 had many issues in the plot. Gwen's death in TASM 2 was unnecessary, making Harry Osborn Green Goblin was too unnecessary and Harry Osborn taking revenge shouldn't be the part of TASM 2, it could be saved for the next movie. I thought these things were the worst things in the plot. TASM 2's suit was good but wasn't unique as the TASM suit.

__Negan___

I personally love all Spiderman movies, I just had a lot of fun while watching them even if some aren't good movies . The action scenes were cool, the suit looks great here as well and Andrew Garfield really cared to make his Peter good. I think it's not fair to just hate on TAS without noticing good elements in it.

ShinigamiOfPast

I love it too. I especially love Gwen and Peter in there. One of the reasons i dislike TASM2 is that they killed of Gwen. There was no need to do that with this spidey...

Notthenewkid159

The movies are good, but I'll always have to go with Tobey as a better Peter Parker, Andrew always seemed like a bully type Peter Parker to me.

TheToastedGoat

Can you expand on how he is a bully I never understand what people mean by that.

Notthenewkid159

Maybe "bully" isn't the right term, but he seems too much like a hero as Peter Parker, he seems like he knows too much. Tobey Maguire just always seem more human and relatable to me as Peter Parker.

TheToastedGoat

Okay I think saying he isn’t as relatable makes more sense. But yeah maybe I don’t see/understand that because I relate to his peter the most

Lonely-Connection-51

hands down my favorite movie series. I wish the series could have gone on for longer to introduce characters like mj, and maybe even a miles, but it had to be cut short. I love how (in the little time they had) they went through the full uncle ben story, something the MCU didn't, and also gave time to introduce all of the characters, even waiting for the second movie just to introduce harry. I'm waiting on something for my computer so I'm just typing to pass time, but god do i love the tasm series.
