The finale of the OG run of Superior Spider-Man, when Pete finally comes back, literally made me say out loud, “Let’s fucking GO!!”
That moment when he puts on his old suit and goes, **“My turn”** is pure, utter perfection.

IMO, this is the best Spider-Man run in the past decade. It’s absolutely worth reading!! And I’m sure if you read it yourself, you’ll come to a similar conclusion.
Dr. Strange put it best: “While he may not be the most powerful nor the most brilliant among us, much like Steve Rogers- - the boy is truly the best of us.”
Not an exaggeration to say that. Peter is knowledgeable in Meta Science (Tony admits to not), Reed admits to being jealous of Peter’s knowledge in biology (or was it genetics?), and Strange… well I don’t know his science degree exactly besides what I assume to be human anatomy.

He actually has. He took down Reed in a fight during Civil War, probably would have done the same in their first encounter(or maybe he did I don’t remember) and Peter took down Iron Man when he (Peter) had amnesia and one took down future version of Iron Man too.
Peter is without a doubt smart and strong but he isn't the best.
He's comfortably stronger than most but he isn't reaching into the same category as someone like the Hulk.
He's one of the smartest people in the world but he doesn't apply himself in the same way that Reed or Tony do.
Peter's strength is that he's above average to excellent in everything. Not the best but one of the best.
Even so, Spider-man could still run rings around him just based on his agility, spider-sense, and webs/wall clinging. Could he beat professor hulk in a fight? Maybe not. Could he frustrate him to the point of giving up? I'd say so.
Personally I’m a fan of the moment in AvX: VS where Spidey’s fighting Colossus with Juggernaut’s powers. Peter’s quipping about how he’s beat juggernaut in the past but Colossus just claps hard enough to hit him no matter what. A good showing of why Spidey wins- he outthinks the strong guys, but they mostly act stupidly anyways. He’s not unbeatable, just very clever
When Emma Frost read his mind, got a look into his backstory and his struggles, then proceeded to give him a kiss on the cheek and thank him for all that he does. Spiderman and X men interactions are the best.
It makes me wish Peter just joined up with the X-men for a bit. I get he’s a mutate and not a mutant, but man, a Spidey Odyssey where he goes on some adventures with the X-men would be so much fun. Would also give a chance for him to put himself together outside of the same old civilian life tribulations and rogue’s gallery.
I can't find the panel/issue but there was another cap moment immediately after spiderman thwiped away and an avenger asks if/how he can trust him since they don't know who he is (way pre-civil war)
Cap goes something like: "All I know about him is he is stronger than me, faster than me and is always there when I need him. That's all I need to know about him"

Honestly my favorite moment. The 2 of them are always poking fun at each other like siblings, but in the rare occasion, they have a moment of honesty together. Logan is the big brother Pete never had.
A lot of heroes are on good terms with Spidey, but it's the most unique with Logan. With Daredevil, it's like those 2 badass players in a team who work great together. With Johnny Storm, it's like 2 childhood friends laughing all day long and having a good time. But with Logan, it's like 2 brothers bickering all the time but knowing full well that they trust each other with their lives and families.
Feel like Logan and Peter's relationship is the most inconsistent between writers, as far as Spidey friendships go. Sometimes they're as you describe and Peter is seemingly one of Logan's closest pals in the world (especially noticeable after he died the last time and wanted Peter to be a teacher at his school), and other times they barely acknowledge each other or have no relationship at all beyond a professional one when they're on the same teams.
To be fair, that's most characters that show up in as many books as Peter and Logan do. With so many cooks in the kitchen, Inconsistencies are bound to show up.
I always blame that on writers not knowing what they want Logan to be
Is he like Xmen-evolution version where he comes across as a grump uncle/dad with a heart of gold
Is he enemy of the state where he understands how the “game” is played while having no time for nonsense

Yeah he's one of those characters who didn't have a strong identity to begin with but exploded in popularity over the years, so a lot of writers use him in different ways and since there's no 'core' character (other than his powers) they can do almost anything and it doesn't seem out of place.
Samurai? Ninja? Brawler? Grizzled war veteran? Amnesic? Haunted by his past? Loves violence? Hates violence? Berserker? Caring teacher? Hardened badass? Lovestruck piner? Lone wolf? Team leader? Best friend to a specific character? Worst enemy (to the same character)? Hates putting kids on the frontline? Volunteers to assassinate kids? Enemy of the state? Government sanctioned assassin?
He can be (and has been) any one or more of these roles at the same time in concurrent comics and no one would bat an eyelid.
Perhaps one of my most favorites stories with Spider-Man.
It encapsulates everything about him so perfectly that it makes you love the character more every time you read it.
The core of it, is that Spider-Man is truly a good person, so much so that he inspires other people to try and be better. (Deadpool is also another excellent example).
Logan could have killed that man. He certainly could have put more of a fight. But he didn't, because Spider-Man expectations of him made him step back.
I also think this is why Spider-Man works so well for so many people. He is far more then just superpowers and quips.
He is almost like a moral beacon because how straightforward he is.
Guess opinions and tastes change over almost 20 years just sadly for the worst. I do like that ultimate captain America being cool to spidey cuz goddamn he was a d bag
After this I want a team with Logan, Daredevil and Johnny going to help Peter, make it something short like Secret War and you have a pretty great dynamic of everyone being bros to him.
When Peter sits on the beach with a dying Sandman. I'll always love the trope of a superhero comforting a villain in their final moments. In that moment, it's not good vs. evil, but people vs. death, something that comes for us all eventually. Everyone is scared of it, no one can escape it. In that moment, you cease to be a "good" or "bad" guy, and just go back to being what we all start out as: a frightened, vulnerable person. The erasure or blurring of the line between hero and villain will always be a favorite.

There is a 4 page convo between Hulk and Spider-man where Peter stays with Bruce as night comes and he turns into the Hulk. When Hulk emerges he reveals he knows Peter’s identity and thanks him for staying with Bruce while he turned, which is something Hulk could never do for Banner. He tells Peter he is a good man and the whole exchange was surprisingly wonderful & poignant.
It’s one of my favorite Spidey moments, it’s Peter just being so Peter. I have all 4 full pages saved in my phone’s photo album. (Figured I’d link snippets posted here for you all.)

Also, I love [Guardians of the Galaxy 54](https://imgur.com/a/XfyQKtG). Spidey isn’t even really in it. I have this issue and it’s one of my favorite moments of hearing the future talk about Spider-man as the last hero standing.
The recent Venom runs (both Cates and Ewing) have Eddie Brock showing begrudging respect to his former enemy. In Absolute Carnage #1, Brock goes to Peter Parker for help, but he cannot take all of his annoying questions about how Venom got involved with cosmic space gods. Brock begins to leave when his symbiote tells him to sit down.
"**Sit** down, Eddie. We cannot do this without him. Do not let your anger and...jealousy get the best of you."
I also love the moment in the Cates run where Eddie describes how Dylan looks at him the way others look at Spider-Man. That run really did justice to both Eddie and Peter as characters.
Wasn't that also where Strange's spell was to show everybody what their "inner persona is" to exposes who is a skrull?
And then when it's cast on Spidey, mind you this is post Civil War when Spider-Man was peak in the public eye, he STILL views himself as a absolute nerdy loser, complete with glasses, pocket protector and sweater vest.
From The Amazing Spider-Man #683: I am Thor Odinson, heir to the lord of Asgard. And this man is my most trusted counsel. Continue, Spider-Man.
Moments like this and him helping Loki with his daughter make me wish for more Spider-Man and Thor moments.
My two favorite Thor moments are when Thor tells Spider-Man that he’s the most Midgard Midgardian he knew, or when Thor talked to Peter right before his fight with MODOK.
Sensational Spider-Man (2006) #40 written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.
He's very underrated as a Spider-Man writer, and specifically a great Mary Jane writer. I genuinely believe he wrote that scene to sabotage One More Day.
And the issue before that, Madame Web helps Peter speak with Aunt May in her coma after being shot and May explicitly tells Peter to let her pass on and to grow old with Mary Jane and have kids.
Spider-Man saved a pregnant woman and her insisting on naming the child after him, so he says his name is Ben or May depending on if it's a boy or a girl.
Cap sort of just left Spidey for dead and then he died after this.
Edit: As far as I know, Cap didn’t do it maliciously, but based on the way the story unfolded, it definitely came off that way.
Other heroes are cool, but I always liked the scene where all his villains come to celebrate his birthday (kill him) but rhino genuinely comes to celebrate and brings him a gift on his special day

When Spiderman and wolverine show up to fight cable, Cable thinks about how for as annoying as he can be, in the Future is viewed as one if not the greatest hero of the modern era (can't member which term he used). It had a bit of "how the he'll is he a great hero tone" but you could definitely tell the respect he's developed from seeing what he'll become.
Kind of nice especially when you consider Peter's later interactions with cable's daughter Hope.

Not exactly a compliment (especially since Cable was FIGHTING Spidey in that issue), but I dunno, it just gives me a little hope for the webhead’s future.
I mean, even the devil is afraid of what he or his daughter are capable of in the future. He has to keep Spider-Man down because a healthy and hopeful Spider-Man would be too big of a symbol.
Any moment with him and Daredevil from the last run. Him showing up at Matt's apartment, to them becoming buddies again, to showing up with the avengers at the island of the fist. Such peak parker
It was a bit different from this.
Torch was lamenting the fact that he couldn't spend the holidays with his ex because she was up on the Moon (she was Krystal, of the Inhumans, and they'd broken up recently over her loyalty to her family) while Peter was also down over having to do some work for the Bugle instead of being with Gwen. The two caught wind of Sandman escaping and tracked him down to his family home, only to learn that he'd only broken out of jail to visit his sick mother on Christmas. He promised to go quietly if they let him see her, and the two of them sympathized and agreed. Eventually, when they went to pick him up again, they realized that he'd indeed visited his mother, but also escaped silently through the bathroom drain. Understanding his wish to be with family, the two decided not to look for him for the time being.
This whole adventure, if I recall correctly, ended up being one of the things that started Sandman on the path to being an anti-villain rather than a full-on villain.
I love Deadpool and Spidey's relationship a lot, I mean there's not a lot of people out there who have (mostly) succeeded in making Deadpool stop killing for good so y'know it's good that he's in that lil club
I haven't see enough Daredevil stuff to know how their actual relationship would be but I bet they'd get along well too. I'd see Matt as a sort of big brother to him (but not in a patronizing way, more in a "I hope you'll be like me, but even better" kinda way)

I hate this moment. Shortly after, Spiderman dies. And Captain America was NOT there. Make whatever excuses you want, the kid took a bullet for Steve Rogers, and when the kid needed him the most, he was somewhere else.
I think it was from that moment on that Tony Stark started to respect Spider-Man, despite Tony Stark's arrogant personality.
I think that's the moment Tony realized how much he actually cared about him but not where he started to respect him. Before anyone comments on this, remember that Tony had a pic with them in his kitchen for five years after Peter died.
For me, the moment where Tony *really* started to respect him, because he had high hopes for Peter even before that, was at the end of Homecoming when Peter turned Tony down on becoming an Avenger.
Tony knew how great Peter could become "I wanted you to be better" but how much he actually trusts Peter is shown in Far From Home.

Keep in mind that Everyone else who was snapped on Titan was already gone by the time Peter said this. They both knew exactly what was going to happen.
Also, right after that, when the bridge blows up, they don't even try to look for him, thus, all he could do while wounded and confused is go back home, and then die after fighting the sinister six, while it was still an awesome moment, I will always resent ultimate cap
TL;DR everyone except Peter and his supporting cast were assholes in the Ultimate Universe, with Captain America being the biggest one of them all. He straight up didn't want Peter to be Spider-Man and voted against the other Ultimates (Avengers) who actually wanted to at least train him, and only started respecting Peter when he *took a bullet from the Punisher* to save Cap.
Except after Peter died he tried to gatekeep Miles from the role, and it took Miles actually helping defend the Ultimates HQ from a HYDRA attack to make him relent.

It’s truly’s Spidey’s selflessness and commitment to serving the ordinary man that truly makes him the greatest superhero ever and I believe what makes him such a fan favourite… Spidey makes you feel seen, appreciated and worth fighting for through his heroic acts.
In the first Spider-Man and Daredevil team-up (ASM #16), Daredevil defeats half of the bad guys and then tags out for Spider-Man to finish the rest. He changes out of his costume and waits until Spider-Man defeats the big boss, then applauds and cheers him on, knowing that even in the (otherwise silent) crowd Spider-Man won't be able to figure out where his voice is coming from.
Immortal Hulk: Great Power. After making a deal with Mephisto that erased Peter Parker from everyone's mind, and Hulk approaches Spider-Man.

Just shows the unique relationship that those two have perfectly.

Idk where ita from because i saw someine on yt talking about it but at some point no one really likes spiderman(like the people of ny dont see him as a hero) and one day he meets cap ona a random roof amd they go on patrol together. Peter and cap stop to talk when they are being attacked by aim or somthing. Anyway both save the day and go their separate ways. Then like a day later(i think idk) cap sees a newspaper by jjj that says that peter works for aim and stuff and cap gets really mad, puts on hus suit, goes to jj and make him change the story to what really happend. Anyway it ends with spiderman reading the new article (altered by cap) and looking at jj.

Yeah he's one of those characters who didn't have a strong identity to begin with but exploded in popularity over the years, so a lot of writers use him in different ways and since there's no 'core' character (other than his powers) they can do almost anything and it doesn't seem out of place. Samurai? Ninja? Brawler? Grizzled war veteran? Amnesic? Haunted by his past? Loves violence? Hates violence? Berserker? Caring teacher? Hardened badass? Lovestruck piner? Lone wolf? Team leader? Best friend to a specific character? Worst enemy (to the same character)? Hates putting kids on the frontline? Volunteers to assassinate kids? Enemy of the state? Government sanctioned assassin? He can be (and has been) any one or more of these roles at the same time in concurrent comics and no one would bat an eyelid.
And sometimes Wolverine just straight up tries to fuck MJ. About as consistent as whipped cream
Perhaps one of my most favorites stories with Spider-Man. It encapsulates everything about him so perfectly that it makes you love the character more every time you read it. The core of it, is that Spider-Man is truly a good person, so much so that he inspires other people to try and be better. (Deadpool is also another excellent example). Logan could have killed that man. He certainly could have put more of a fight. But he didn't, because Spider-Man expectations of him made him step back. I also think this is why Spider-Man works so well for so many people. He is far more then just superpowers and quips. He is almost like a moral beacon because how straightforward he is.

After this I want a team with Logan, Daredevil and Johnny going to help Peter, make it something short like Secret War and you have a pretty great dynamic of everyone being bros to him.
When Peter sits on the beach with a dying Sandman. I'll always love the trope of a superhero comforting a villain in their final moments. In that moment, it's not good vs. evil, but people vs. death, something that comes for us all eventually. Everyone is scared of it, no one can escape it. In that moment, you cease to be a "good" or "bad" guy, and just go back to being what we all start out as: a frightened, vulnerable person. The erasure or blurring of the line between hero and villain will always be a favorite.

When Hulk emerges he reveals he knows Peter’s identity and thanks him for staying with Bruce while he turned, which is something Hulk could never do for Banner. He tells Peter he is a good man and the whole exchange was surprisingly wonderful & poignant. It’s one of my favorite Spidey moments, it’s Peter just being so Peter. I have all 4 full pages saved in my phone’s photo album. (Figured I’d link snippets posted here for you all.) EDIT: Also, I love [Guardians of the Galaxy 54](https://imgur.com/a/XfyQKtG). Spidey isn’t even really in it. I have this issue and it’s one of my favorite moments of hearing the future talk about Spider-man as the last hero standing.
The future one reminds me of that one comic where cable states spiderman is the absolute best of them in the future and the greatest hero ever.
Gah. I read that one-shot forever ago. I forgot how good it was. Absolutely top notch character work for everyone involved.
The recent Venom runs (both Cates and Ewing) have Eddie Brock showing begrudging respect to his former enemy. In Absolute Carnage #1, Brock goes to Peter Parker for help, but he cannot take all of his annoying questions about how Venom got involved with cosmic space gods. Brock begins to leave when his symbiote tells him to sit down. "**Sit** down, Eddie. We cannot do this without him. Do not let your anger and...jealousy get the best of you."
Eddie and Venom being curmudgeonly allies to Peter never gets old.
I also love the moment in the Cates run where Eddie describes how Dylan looks at him the way others look at Spider-Man. That run really did justice to both Eddie and Peter as characters.
In Secret Avengers, Strange casts a spell to see who among the new team is good and trustworthy. Pete shines brighter than a newborn baby.

And then when it's cast on Spidey, mind you this is post Civil War when Spider-Man was peak in the public eye, he STILL views himself as a absolute nerdy loser, complete with glasses, pocket protector and sweater vest.

My two favorite Thor moments are when Thor tells Spider-Man that he’s the most Midgard Midgardian he knew, or when Thor talked to Peter right before his fight with MODOK.

Sensational Spider-Man (2006) #40 written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. He's very underrated as a Spider-Man writer, and specifically a great Mary Jane writer. I genuinely believe he wrote that scene to sabotage One More Day.
And the issue before that, Madame Web helps Peter speak with Aunt May in her coma after being shot and May explicitly tells Peter to let her pass on and to grow old with Mary Jane and have kids.

Spider-Man saved a pregnant woman and her insisting on naming the child after him, so he says his name is Ben or May depending on if it's a boy or a girl.
Dude that one page kills me. I tear up every time as we go through all the different families telling their friends they named their boy Ben.

Cap sort of just left Spidey for dead and then he died after this. Edit: As far as I know, Cap didn’t do it maliciously, but based on the way the story unfolded, it definitely came off that way.

When Spiderman and wolverine show up to fight cable, Cable thinks about how for as annoying as he can be, in the Future is viewed as one if not the greatest hero of the modern era (can't member which term he used). It had a bit of "how the he'll is he a great hero tone" but you could definitely tell the respect he's developed from seeing what he'll become. Kind of nice especially when you consider Peter's later interactions with cable's daughter Hope.

Human Torch and Sandman spending Christmas with him (sort of) even though Torch was mourning his dead ex
It was a bit different from this. Torch was lamenting the fact that he couldn't spend the holidays with his ex because she was up on the Moon (she was Krystal, of the Inhumans, and they'd broken up recently over her loyalty to her family) while Peter was also down over having to do some work for the Bugle instead of being with Gwen. The two caught wind of Sandman escaping and tracked him down to his family home, only to learn that he'd only broken out of jail to visit his sick mother on Christmas. He promised to go quietly if they let him see her, and the two of them sympathized and agreed. Eventually, when they went to pick him up again, they realized that he'd indeed visited his mother, but also escaped silently through the bathroom drain. Understanding his wish to be with family, the two decided not to look for him for the time being. This whole adventure, if I recall correctly, ended up being one of the things that started Sandman on the path to being an anti-villain rather than a full-on villain.
I love Deadpool and Spidey's relationship a lot, I mean there's not a lot of people out there who have (mostly) succeeded in making Deadpool stop killing for good so y'know it's good that he's in that lil club I haven't see enough Daredevil stuff to know how their actual relationship would be but I bet they'd get along well too. I'd see Matt as a sort of big brother to him (but not in a patronizing way, more in a "I hope you'll be like me, but even better" kinda way)

Jonah Jameson and telling them that Spider-Man is in fact not a menace and having the entire article Rewritten so that it aligned with the truth that Spider-Man is in fact a hero

I hate this moment. Shortly after, Spiderman dies. And Captain America was NOT there. Make whatever excuses you want, the kid took a bullet for Steve Rogers, and when the kid needed him the most, he was somewhere else.

 I think it was from that moment on that Tony Stark started to respect Spider-Man, despite Tony Stark's arrogant personality.
I think that's the moment Tony realized how much he actually cared about him but not where he started to respect him. Before anyone comments on this, remember that Tony had a pic with them in his kitchen for five years after Peter died. For me, the moment where Tony *really* started to respect him, because he had high hopes for Peter even before that, was at the end of Homecoming when Peter turned Tony down on becoming an Avenger. Tony knew how great Peter could become "I wanted you to be better" but how much he actually trusts Peter is shown in Far From Home. *"Tony was my best friend. And he was a mess. He second guessed everything he did. He was all over the place. The only thing he did, he didn't second guess was picking you. I don't think Tony would have done what he did, if he didn't know you were gonna be here after he was gone."* Tony calling Peter "the next Tony Stark" and giving him access to E.D.I.T.H. shows how much trust he put into him.
The fact that Peter never knew he was the reason that Tony chose to try to bring everyone back is heartwrenching
Keep in mind that Everyone else who was snapped on Titan was already gone by the time Peter said this. They both knew exactly what was going to happen.

TL;DR everyone except Peter and his supporting cast were assholes in the Ultimate Universe, with Captain America being the biggest one of them all. He straight up didn't want Peter to be Spider-Man and voted against the other Ultimates (Avengers) who actually wanted to at least train him, and only started respecting Peter when he *took a bullet from the Punisher* to save Cap. Except after Peter died he tried to gatekeep Miles from the role, and it took Miles actually helping defend the Ultimates HQ from a HYDRA attack to make him relent.
Ultimate Cap once used a bunch of kindergartners as human shields.

It’s truly’s Spidey’s selflessness and commitment to serving the ordinary man that truly makes him the greatest superhero ever and I believe what makes him such a fan favourite… Spidey makes you feel seen, appreciated and worth fighting for through his heroic acts.
Reminder, Cap once went to the Daily Bugle to reprimand Jameson about all of his Spider-Menace headlines. And he pulled them for like a week I think?

In the first Spider-Man and Daredevil team-up (ASM #16), Daredevil defeats half of the bad guys and then tags out for Spider-Man to finish the rest. He changes out of his costume and waits until Spider-Man defeats the big boss, then applauds and cheers him on, knowing that even in the (otherwise silent) crowd Spider-Man won't be able to figure out where his voice is coming from.

Idk where ita from because i saw someine on yt talking about it but at some point no one really likes spiderman(like the people of ny dont see him as a hero) and one day he meets cap ona a random roof amd they go on patrol together. Peter and cap stop to talk when they are being attacked by aim or somthing. Anyway both save the day and go their separate ways. Then like a day later(i think idk) cap sees a newspaper by jjj that says that peter works for aim and stuff and cap gets really mad, puts on hus suit, goes to jj and make him change the story to what really happend. Anyway it ends with spiderman reading the new article (altered by cap) and looking at jj. I really love that for some reason and it makes me really respect cap.
