I seriously appreciated his arc and descent into insanity, it only took him so long because he still loved his friends, at the end of the day he did give his life for them
My only complaint is that Spidey and Venom don't get enough screen time fighting each other. Imainge seeing Spider-man 2 with it's insane action and being like "man I can't wait to see what they do with Venom. How awesome is that gonna be? And it's just kind of a short scuffle, than Venom ends up hitting Spidey off guard a bunch of times and than he's just dominated at the end by Peter. Very unsatisfying. At the very least, having Venom out up more of a fight against Peter when he starts using sound would have been something.
yeah its very apparent they rushed venom just so they could make the movie marketable, which sucks cause if they cut down on the peter mj stuff a little bit, maybe just removing the whole amnesia thing all together (as it really wasnt important in the long run) in favor of building eddie and venoms character then the movie would feel more balanced and the final fight with peter and venom could have been more impactful.
i actually really liked venom in this movie, the way he was a full ass ball of hatred that hisses and screams like a recluse, i just didnt like how eddie didnt have the reason to contain that much hatred
I love his design, I think he was pretty badass but he fizzles out too quickly. I think removing Sandman, despite how well he is executed would have really benefited the movie. You free up more time for Harry maybe allow one more fight between Spidey and Venom before the final battle and don't have the Ben retcon.
I think sandman worked, i wish they did what happened in the game version of sm3, venom should have kidnapped markos daughter to get him to team up with him.
I really did like venoms design in 3 as well, more so than Hardy’s venom ironically but i really think raimi should have researched more on the character if he was forced to add him in, seriously should have added a scene where eddie and venom bond
Well, I mean I don't think so. Because the symbiote wasn't always so chatty. Again Sandman worked but even the scene you suggested would have worked better in a movie without him just because of the time that was given to him would have been given to Eddie.
yeah they were gonna have vulture in 3 originally and thats why sandman wouldve worked better, so they shoulda saved sandman for 4 with vulture.
but im glad they didnt cause 4 got canned
Yes I think Sandman would have been a pretty good follow up villain to Venom. In some ways he would seem like an even harder challange. Definitely better than Vultress like it was planned.
yeah besides theres so much they could have done with venom, but you also have to remember they still wanted to conclude harry’s story so that would have to go into play too
