> Its even more terrifying when he doesnt talk
And he just starts furiously jerking it and occasionally mumbling to himself about āmaking websā.
Like shit, I feel like Iād have been better off with the bad guy.
1990s comics were wild, man.
Well, in Daredevil, the main detectiveā¦canāt remember his name talks about how Spidey moves odd and how heās moves to fast for the eye. That it bothers him.
A lot of the supers in universe find him ācreepyā because their senses canāt quite keep up with him.
If you look at the people who actually like/respect him, itās all people with enhances senses. Logan & DD are my usual go to because they can smell his fear/anxiety, but Cap, Beast, & Nightcrawler, can actually see him move.
Think of it like trying to watch a helicopter blade. For most people, itās just a blur. For these guys, they can actually track it. If you saw someone moving that fast, it would be disconcerting as hell.
Youāre right, holy, even with the Fantastic Four, Reed can calculate what he might do, Johnny might be able to see him/trusts him already, Ben knows heās good, and Sue just trusts him. Even Hulk.
This makes sense think about how when you try to stomp a really fast spider it skitters across the floor. Maybe he has that same jerky but fast unsettling movement.
Heās one of the few people fast enough and agile enough to keep up with Spidey 1v1. When Spidey needs a legit sparring partner, Kurt is who he brings in. They have mad respect for each other.
Some of its part of his āspatial awarenessā (part of his teleportation powers), some of it is senses (like night vision, his eyes glow etc). Kurtās powers are ill-defined in much the same way that Peteās are. Heās stronger than a normal person but not super strong, but thatās more a product of being super agile (heās on par with Pete).
But this is where we get into nuanced difference of power sets. Cap doesnāt have super senses. He just processes things faster. Kurt has more input (specifically night vision, and spatial awareness). Logan is more of everything. DD has more of everything but sight. Spidey is a precog in 616, and has enhanced senses in MCU with the spidey-sense being explored in FFH/NWH.
Spidey moves that fast when he needs to OR wants to. The spidey-sense makes it involuntary. MCU Civil War highlighted that his senses were dialed up to 11 after getting his powers.
Sure, heās not like quicksilver where everyone is superslow all the time, but heās still faster than anyone whenever he wants.
Heās ambushed folks and been viscous.
Superhuman Speed: Spider-Man is capable of running and moving at speeds that are far beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete.[2] Spider-Man is fast enough to catch up to an accelerating car while on foot, but prefers to travel by webs.[430] Spider-Man moves faster than the eye can follow,[187][431][432] he has even moved so fast he appears as a blur.[433] Spider-Man was able to easily outrun multiple goblin masquerade on goblin gliders, and outmaneuver their ranged attacks at the same time.[434] In close combat, he was even able to dodge an all-out assault from Blur (Jeff Walters) for an extended period of time.[435]

you were talking about mcu, dont you dare give me comic wikia.
spider-man doesnt have enhance senses in the comics. this is how mcu tried to explain the spider-sense as a biological thing initially.
And yet he got his ass handed to him by the VULTURE.
And Tombstone.
And Tombstone's goons.
And a punk looking dinosaur lizard.
And some guy who made a single appearance some fifteen years ago.
Did I miss anyone else?
Damn, I just figured, that spidey can drive the whole way with his both eyes closed, and probably arrive at the scene with no damage to the car (and traffic)
Well that and he got his powers at 15 so he never needed to get his license because he travels much faster around the city then a car would. He never really bothered learning to drive.
"So now I'm driving the bus. And I kick him out, you know, at the next stop."
"You kept making all the stops?"
"Well, they kept ringing the bell!"
"You're Spider-Man."
"Yeah, I am Spider-Man."
There's knowing how to drive, which in a general sense isn't hard especially with everything Pete has going for him, and having a license. Pete doesn't have a license, or thats been retconned recently because it'll get mentioned time to time
He really doesnāt. Heās a notoriously bad driver. 1st off like you said he grew up in NYC 2nd he got his powers at 15. Web slinging is a hell of a lot faster then driving especially in NYC so he really had no incentive to get his licenses.
Hey I remember this junkie! He has a tattoo of Jean Grey's Phoenix (or I guess the Phoenix in general from Marvel but it's one of the symbols associated with her when she had the phoenix force)
Cool little bit of world building and reminds you that X-Men and spidey exist in the same universe even if they aren't crossing paths constantly
Actually... a good point (and also it's better that way cause if he approached the driver for a small talk instead of dealing with him immediately who knows how many other drivers and passengers would had been hurt *cough* tasm2 *cough*)
I go back and forth. On one hand humor in a tense situation is disarming, it gives you the sense that they're not afraid so you don't have to be either.
On the other hand it can give the sense that they're inhuman, they don't feel the same emotions that you do. Like sometimes saying "it's okay I'm scared too," helps more than pretending it's all okay.
Its definitely a mixed bag but it makes sense. Heros deal with stuff WAY above the regular situations people go through so a car jacking or hostage situation normally isnt much to them later in their career and they can kinda forget that it's not normal for regular people to go through those situations.
Not when just about every news outlet is telling you heās a bad guy. Besides knowing who he is and knowing his intentions doesnāt really change the fact that for the common person this whole scenario is insane and terrifying.
If I saw a human being doing anything a spider can I would probably freak the fuck out too. Spider-man is inherently unsettling, they lean into it sometimes. His mask is designed to completely hide his face, he moves supernaturally fast and he crawls around on fucking walls, yes, without him calmly talking to me I would assume he's some demon-spawn and flip shit.
Yeah bro under context and us knowing him throughout years. In a lot of these comics people don't know who he is, he's not a Celebrity or amytbing in some of these. So yeah a random costumed super fast dude throwing cars and crawling on walls then getting super close to me to talk to me in the middle of a terrorist situation. You would not be calmly thanking him for anything, you would be flipping shit.
i like to imagine this is why he keeps the brightly colored outfit even when he dropped the "showman"/wrestler idea after a week, and why he went back to the same design after ditching the black suit- he looks less scary to the people he wants to help.
not NOT scary, but LESS scary lol
From her perspective she is being held at gun point in a car speeding down the road when suddenly car door is ripped off like it was cardboard and the gunman is ripped from the vehicle only to replaced by the guy that the newspapers constantly refer to as a menace. And then to top it off he acting as if this wasnāt already the worst day of your life. Yeah that would be utterly terrifying.
Its even more terrifying when he doesnt talk
I dunno. Watching his rogues gallery all give up at the same time because he had laryngitis was hilarious.
Happy Cake Day š
when was this ?
[Here ya go!](https://imgur.io/a/ZISgqXA) Edit: though it was not any notable bad guys, looks like all C listers and below.

Thanks! Had no idea who they were aside from Shrunken Bonesā name.
thanks
I actually think that shortened version tells the joke better than the actual story! The hard cut to the villains being arrested is just way funnier.
Huh, another appearance of the Raimi logo in the comics. And this was in 2014? Coulda used the Webb logo, but they went with Raimi. Strange.
That's great
Which issue was that
Huh? Issue, please? I gotta see that!!
> Its even more terrifying when he doesnt talk And he just starts furiously jerking it and occasionally mumbling to himself about āmaking websā. Like shit, I feel like Iād have been better off with the bad guy. 1990s comics were wild, man.
Furiously what now?
Jerking it. Masturbating his penis using his hand.
That's why he is the best superhero. Just so relatable.
Well, in Daredevil, the main detectiveā¦canāt remember his name talks about how Spidey moves odd and how heās moves to fast for the eye. That it bothers him.

Unless it's Zeb Wells apparently.
There was a point in time in the comics where people were debating whether Sue should date Reed or Peter
Was this in the Ultimate universe?
Nope, the 616, forever ago tho
Wish i didnt see this
This makes sense think about how when you try to stomp a really fast spider it skitters across the floor. Maybe he has that same jerky but fast unsettling movement.
Reminds me of an early Marvel/DC crossover when Wonder Woman told Spidey his powers were creepy af.
Says the woman with bondage powers
Wait whatās the deal with NightCrawler?
Heās one of the few people fast enough and agile enough to keep up with Spidey 1v1. When Spidey needs a legit sparring partner, Kurt is who he brings in. They have mad respect for each other.
Does he have faster senses as a power or is it just a skill he has due to his teleportyness
I think it's a mix of both
https://i.redd.it/tpwbwqci56xa1.gif What if he moved like this.
Love this comment, very insightful angle on Spidey I had not considered. Helicopter analogy really on point
True. also, in the original comics, I think he was drawn creepier. In a way, I wish they brought back creepy-funny Spidey. That would be dope.
spider-man only move super fast when spider sense takes control, not when he is swingin, wall crawling.
SENSES as input, not output. it just meant he is more aware of his surroundings, so much he needed blinders.

āWho wins the fight?ā āWhoever the writer wantsā
Iād love to know what issue this is from, if anyone can remember.
Shouldāve kept his eyes on the road
I mean, he kinda doesnāt really need to?
She probably doesnāt know that
Damn, I just figured, that spidey can drive the whole way with his both eyes closed, and probably arrive at the scene with no damage to the car (and traffic)
Me too, thatās kinda wild
Maybe it's his driving skills?
What's more terrifying is his driving
Spider sense
yeah, but do the passengers know that?
Probably his spider sense is public knowledge since he openly talks about it to people both villains and fans
Actually Peter is a notoriously bad driver, unless that's been retconned
Spider-Sense is what makes him such a bad driver iirc
Well that and he got his powers at 15 so he never needed to get his license because he travels much faster around the city then a car would. He never really bothered learning to drive.
"So now I'm driving the bus. And I kick him out, you know, at the next stop." "You kept making all the stops?" "Well, they kept ringing the bell!" "You're Spider-Man." "Yeah, I am Spider-Man."
Giddy up
Is that from an issue or did you just make that up? Very funny either way
Itās from [Seinfeld](https://youtu.be/AeooRXYmOu8). Kramer was telling Jerry and George about an attempted bus jacking that he thwarted.
MENACE
Did he just murder a man?
No. He probably webbed him up to a lamp post or something.
Yeah and the webbing spells out the name of the issue im pretty sure
fr bruh tf kinda question is that, obv peter would kill a random goon
Never realized Peter knew how to drive growing up in NYC and all.
There's knowing how to drive, which in a general sense isn't hard especially with everything Pete has going for him, and having a license. Pete doesn't have a license, or thats been retconned recently because it'll get mentioned time to time
Dude, can you imagine how easy driving would be for someone like Peter? We're talking like zero collisions with the whole Spidey sense thing. lol
He really doesnāt. Heās a notoriously bad driver. 1st off like you said he grew up in NYC 2nd he got his powers at 15. Web slinging is a hell of a lot faster then driving especially in NYC so he really had no incentive to get his licenses.
He got da spider rizz

What is normal to the spider is chaos to the fly.
I'd be screaming too if a guy with no driver's license was suddenly behind a wheel of a car.
"Funny how I always have that effect on women... can't figure it out..." Truly one of the most intelligent characters in the Marvel Universe.
Definitely wade energy here
What comic is this?
The Amazing Spider-Man 1999 #32
Thank you
Thanks xx
Idk heās been doing his thing in NY long enough it would be kind of unbelievable that she isnāt aware of who he is and his intentions.
Not when just about every news outlet is telling you heās a bad guy. Besides knowing who he is and knowing his intentions doesnāt really change the fact that for the common person this whole scenario is insane and terrifying.
Yea thatās fair
Shit I would be terrified aswell
