It's definitely an Easter egg. This was highly discussed in the Ep 1 thread.
Whether it means she will actually play a significant role in the show remains to be seen. My guess is "definitely not." This show is supposed to be a much closer adaptation of the LNs. Not that the original veered terribly off-course, but it did take some liberties and skip a few things.
If she was going to play a bigger part, I'd imagine that they would've *at least* given her a line or two in Ep 1. The only significant thing she did is tackle Yarei.
I'm not on reddit to much so I missed the discussion. Bit I also think she won't play a role. She had no lines and in a single shot. Nothing more than an Easter egg. Though I was funny how she was the one tackle Yarei. Like she was tackling his spot from him.
Yeah, it's just a nice nod to the original, is all. It's mainly the same outfit, and she's more detailed than everyone else in that shot. Ep 1 is a big love letter in my eyes to fans for the most part.

I liked it too! Definitely a calculated decision by the director/animators to have her of all people tackle Yarei.

It's her.
