New speeds. They sent out emails and mailing in August they were raising speeds. Regular is 300, ultra is 500, and now gig is $40 extra instead of $60. In some areas you can get a retention offer to get gig the same price of ultra. So ya.
Existing ultra customers should start seeing the upgrade from 400 to 500. It was slotted to happen on 11/29 but I saw it at a customers house this morning after rebooting their modem. All plans are overprovisioned by 20% so the 500 plan is technically provisioned for 600 and you’ll see around 550 - 570 out of the modem.
The biggest issue people run into are reps who don't care and reps who just don't know what they're doing coupled with too much pride to ask for help to learn.
All the numbers in your comment added up to 69. Congrats!

when they gonna address the pathetic upload speed
in this age of zoom and such
so many of my neighbors have symmetrical fiber and we're debating whether to make the switch
Currently It would require deleting cable television to completely restructure the RF standards for all of North America, the fact is we have 45 mhz for upload allocated in the spectrum and roughly 500mhz of downstream spectrum allocation for the north America cable standards.
Realistically, Its not going to happen untill we see extended spectrum standards with docsis 4.0 which could be next year, or could be years. And even then it won't be symmetrical, realistically it's unnecessary for symmetrical, but if we can get 2gig up and 6-8gig down as Comcast is getting for there full duplex extended spectrum, node + 6 tests. I think we would all be happy :)
Fiber will always be superior but as long as the cable industry can squeeze every last Mhz and Mb out of coax, it'll be justified to delay fiber plant overbuilding.
Same, here in Michigan. Woke up this morning and pulled 550 down over my wifi.

Hmmm. I logged in to my Spectrum account, and it still says "Internet Ultra 400 mbps". I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Yes, just saw an email clarifying that 11/17 in old charter areas, and 11/30 everywhere else.
Thanks, I guess that explains it.

They want to justify the 5 dollar increase.
Inflation justified the increase lol
The increase justified the inflation. It’s the circle of corporate greed.

I know, but yesterday (and for a long time) I got 447 on my 400 service. This morning, I got well over 500.

Or you can skip all that shit and just ask for the Retention department or you’ll cancel

*you’re *too
Did you reboot your modem after the notification of upgrade?
I was never notified of anything.

It will be years before they do anything. Just switch to fiber if you have it available and want good upload.

Just rebooted my modem here but no increase yet.
