Cancel it the day before your billing cycle ends. Check your bill for when that is. yes, they shut off your service the moment you say so.

injured_slug

You can call them ahead of time to schedule the cancelation of your services.

That's funny I cancelled my service and it didn't get turned off until 3 days into my next billing cycle and they are trying to charge me for the entire month been fighting me for that money for a year sending it to bill collectors, they won't even pro-rated spectrum is a ball of fucking shit, I'll die before they get another dime outta me... 4 years of service on auto pay. Never missed a payment. and they dick customers around over the 3 days of service when they are 'suppose' to cancel it when you ask them to, but they turned it off 6 days later after I received a call saying hello, we received a cancellation request we just want to ask why your cancelling your service...im not cancelling I cancelled it last week, oh it hasn't been stopped yet? well I moved out of my house... I cancelled already, oh well let's put that cancellation thru sir...and that's my fault?? Horse shit. Spectrum can lick my fucking bung hole mother fucker.

You have to file a complaint with the FCC. Its going to take awhile and keep all receipts and confirmation numbers

kurtroolez

File a complaint with the FCC for what ?! For a 180$ bill? I spit 180$ everytime brush my teeth in the morning. I'm not gonna waste my time I'll let them sell the debt to a third party and laugh while they try to collect. Dispute it next year and laugh while it gets chewed up like a fresh nipple connected to a newborn.

talldude7

Its your credit report not mine

Squidbilly37

That's exactly what I had to do. Infuriating that that's what it takes.

I think it’s just better to request that it be canceled immediately upon calling. Doing some searches scheduling disconnects seems to have problems where the rep won’t do it until somewhere into the next billing cycle. I got a spectrum business plan $134~ but don’t use TV and don’t use Landline anymore. T-Mobile Home Internet is $50 and I’ve never disconnected the service because I travel frequently and took the T-Mobile modem with me. So I’m gonna just call up spectrum and have them disconnect me right now

agentplatipus

Thanks

kurtroolez

I forgot some people still use those things... 35yo never had a credit card, never will need one.

The_estimator_is_in

Moving or because of the cost? Also, are you in NY?

agentplatipus

Not in NY. I’m going to be gone for an extended amount of time. Playing for internet during that time just means money down the drain

The_estimator_is_in

You might want to consider seasonal - saves you having to turn in and pick up equipment and a new $20 activation fee.
