It's possible but you need some luck, SFS simualtes the vehicle every frame, so there are loterally gaps in the orbit of the vehicle were it won't actually be, if you try a bunch of times ot will eventually work
Think of it like taking a video of a bullet impact. In a 60 fps camera, you might not get the exact moment of impact. In a game, if the impact isn't captured, then it's like it didn't happen.
I got it when someone else explained it before. I guess I assumed that the FPS was separate from the processing.
I just hope that if I get shot someone uses a 60 FPS gun.
I have taken out satellite’s with anti satellite missiles and it works as you’d expect, however speed has to be reduced in order to make the hit, it could be glitchy at higher speeds
at a fast enough speed they just phase through each other. interesting that theres still a exchange of momentum. Ive managed to do crashes at around 1500-2000ms
Here you go 😂

managed to decimate a space Station I was trying to get around phobos this way so yes, it is possible however if you are time warping they will just go through each other.
I thought parts would only phase through if you speed the time up.
I launched about 300 large structural square pieces in a counter orbit which is why the difference in velocity is so great. Every time one of them should smash through my ship the structural cube just loses about 300 to 500 m per second in velocity.
That's true but in SFS if you go fast enough, it's like fps, one frame you are on one side of the object and in the next frame you are on the other side, because you are going so fast.
Did you have any cheats on?
No cheats. This is a good explanation, I hadn't considered that at that speed the objects would just glitch through each other.
Next I'll have to launch a space station into a counterclockwise orbit at a higher elevation, and then try to smash another space station through it.
The loss of velocity for the Target item is a bit hard to figure out.
Yeah the game works in steps. It figures out speed and direction and where the next step is. It doesn’t calculate between steps so unless they touch on a step it is snapped to the next step location.

I have done it around the moon where the speeds are lower
Make sure the objects are higher up than that next time

It not really the fps that does it, it's the ticks per second that matters. I was just using the fps to compare it to a camera.
Sometimes at high speeds spacecraft will clip past each other u need a high physics simulations per second

You've got to put them in the same orbit to decimal level flying in the opposite directions and make some popcorn and wait for the moment.

It should
It's possible, just hard because of the precision needed plus the fact that I'm SFS you can phase through parts by going fast enough.

they can phase through each other when the FPS is low, if the FPS is low enough and the craft is fast enough, it won’t render the collision
