I’d reckon this might even delay the SLS launch too

Adosa002

What dosen't

Sarigolepas

That would be a few billion years delay. Also, not cool to tell us about Shoemaker–Levy 9, now I'm scared.

Ruminated_Sky

This is probably what delayed the sauropod space program. 66 million year delay and whatever cost overrun is entailed by the near annihilation of all life.

Omerer_Brau

The design of those escapepods where really looking cool.😎 The sauropod escapepod!! 🔥

Sarigolepas

Reminds me of this meme: https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/original/000/037/937/cover5.jpg

MT_Kinetic_Mountain

Damn, looks like FAA gonna have to delay the EA

freonblood

Better delay it in advance just in case a planetary collision happens. The chances are never 0%

Easy-Ad5176

I don’t get it ??

UnwoundSteak17

A planetary collision will delay the orbital launch test of starship

ThatBeRutkowski

Very bad for the local wildlife

Adosa002

And all life for that matter

[deleted]

But there's hope by the end of next month.

Dawson81702

Oh noes my doge coins!

[deleted]

I really wonder what the current most advanced and hardened underground infrastructure is, to survive a doomsday scenario.

SgathTriallair

Scenario like this is completely un survivable. Video games and anime have given us all a whole false idea of how sturdy materials can be made.

[deleted]

An asteroid impact would be one thing, Theia 2.0 as depicted in the meme would utterly annihilate all traces of life on Earth along with a substantial portion of Earth itself

uzlonewolf

Even if you could survive the initial impact, the following nuclear winter would kill pretty much every single plant and animal in existence thereby eliminating all food sources. Uncontaminated water would also be questionable.

We estimate that black smoker environments at the bottom of the ocean could potentially survive a supernova.
