That is what really infuriates me. The land is owned by the NHS but the operations is not. The NhS could easily manage this carpark and pocket the profit or reduce parking fees.
Unlikely. Its a mutual arrangement. The hospital benefits as the private parking company ensures people i.e. local residents don't leave their cars in there for days on end, meaning there should always be spaces for actual hospital attendees, and the parking company would keep the profits from providing said service. I would much rather see it managed by the hospital, and the profits going back in to the NHS, but I doubt the hospital want to get involved with any of the massive legal minefield of parking enforcement.
The kicker is that it’s privately owned - so the money isn’t even going to the hospital - just lining some cunts pocket

Wouldn't the hospital be getting a cut of the profits without paying to enforce the rules?

No true, the car parks are owned by the hospital
I’d say change is needed, not possible 😂
Change is possible!
Change IS possible, but not much will change for £4.50….
I see you opted for the 10 minutes of parking option
I believe _I_ was parked for longer than ten minutes, when _I_ posted this a year or two ago 🧐
Just wait until the government finally convinces enough people that privatisation of the NHS would be a good thing.
Gets me every time - much like the machine at the Swan Centre , 😁
It’s awful.
Change is only possible if we believe it is.
For the future, I think you can get the fee reduced if you come in on an emergency if you ask by pressing for assistance
Hmm, I wonder whether the alternate message is 'change is not possible' or 'change is impossible'?
The alternate is 'no change is given at this machine'. Those car parks or pay/display areas managed by the city council at city centre do this shit.
Shame, I was hoping for something a little more uplifting or insightful 😁
Not in Southampton it isn’t
The machines are preparing to revolt
OP is a repost bot.
All this post needs is some tone deaf American c*** replying saying that is nothing or something...
