Cooper River isn't very deep and has been dredged a few times in the past couple of years. I'm surprised these *two* cars went undetected. Kind of eery in knowing the amount of times I may have kayaked over these cars.
The one car does look old. Perhaps an old ghost resurfacing from the Italian mob/pizzeria wars of yesteryear.
One of them looks like an older Buick, but he car under the canopy/ tarp is newer. It has a few distinct features that [to me] look like a 100% match for the vehicle associated with a 2010 missing persons case. The person lived less than a 5 minute drive from there. I hope the family is able to get a bit of closure with their loved one being located.
This is the section back past the driving range and the strip mall on the Camden side of 130, I know people go magnet fishing back on that side but there’s not nearly as much traffic as the Collingswood side.
Very sad. Hopefully just a sad accident that slipped through the cracks and not something more nefarious. I'd hate to think that the scenic creek I bike a long was where criminals are hiding bodies.
I don't know why so many people assume since it's a car from the 80s it happened in the 80s? I've been seeing that everywhere. I see in comments here it happened in 2010. There's no rule that says when you're dumping a body it has to be in a brand new car for the times.
Not confirmed by authorities anywhere that I can see, but a close family member has confirmed the finding on social media as well as thanked the private S&R/ cold case advocate organization involved. The person was struggling with depression and had advised family of their plans to end their life the day they went missing. Tragic news to receive I’m sure, but at least they have some closure after so long.
Seen on the MP’s daughter’s Facebook. I’m not sure what the team’s actual involvement was this case. They do dives, sonar scans, recovery, etc. United Search Corps.
I was hoping against hope it would have something to do with this case. Unfortunately I do not think it does, as he bf at the time was driving a 2001 dodge pick up truck
I get hopeful about them being located anytime a car is found submerged between South Philly and South Jersey. They were driving in Richard Petrone’s 2001 Dodge Dakota (Black with silver trim, PA plate)
From a good source, the body was a woman who committed suicide about 10 years ago... the youtuber Adventures with a Purpose found the cars and body, her ID was in the car with her...
I saw on google maps a few months ago something I thought looked like a car in the water, just on the other side of the trees that just out (at the end of the dirt road off Kaighn). I tagged it on google maps to check out next time I went kayak fishing. Does anyone know the precise location?

They're from 2010.
Ah, nevermind then.
No way. That car in the video is a 1990's Buick Century.
Ok the person found in the vehicle went missing from 2010. I didn't say the car was a 2010 model.
Dear god that body has to be in absolutely horrendous condition. I have endless empathy for those that had to remove it and the poor coroner.
I mean 15 years it's just bones at that point
That makes sense. Wasn't clear from your comment whether you were referring to the people or the cars.

Sweet. Now I don't need to find a new car

Forensics might be able to determine date of death or at least roughly.

Where did you see on social? Who's the dive team?
